The "BEST" spa in Canada. With my girlfriend.A weekend to remember!
We stayed over a weekend, and the hotel was quite busy. Everyone was exceptionally friendly. Being from Ontario (and speaking limited french), we felt very welcomed by both the Bellman and the Front Desk agent when we checked in. The room was gorgeous with a fantastic view of the park from the 22nd floor. Valet parking was quick and effortless.... more
We stayed here 1 night on April 21 for the Nickelback concert at Bell Center. Check in was very easy and we had a very nice room, it looks identical to the room picture shown on tripadvisor. Very nice view and very comfortable bed. We had room service breakfast, it was very good.
Only real complaint about my stay is...

It's a comfortable hotel with very cool half-moon windows.. It could probably use a renovation one of these years, but I was well taken care of.
The breakfast was completely adequate with a selection of healthy stuff and traditional fare.
The location was very good--between Old Montreal and Downtown.
I will say that I heard the elevator going past my...

Found this a very comfortable hotel for a few nights in Montreal. The rooms are a good size and have nice European styling, albeit they are a little pokey around the bathroom/cupboard area. Very friendly and helpful service. Convenient location for a number of reasons and nice to have the green space fronting the hotel.
Stayed here for a few days in May, a great experience. The hotel is in great shape, location is excellent. The reason that we would return is they have really excellent staff, from the moment you stop at the front door, they are friendly, helpful and most of all they seem happy. Had an issue with my internet and they... more
What can I say? Although this is the classic Montreal hotel, it is a Marriott; so I came in with Marriott expectations and it was just an OK stay. I heard there were recently renovations- for the life of me I don't know why they wouldn't remove the "cottage cheese" ceilings...so 1980s. The ceilings are also very low, so I... more
I really enjoyed my stay in this hotel. It's not very convenient to "Vieux Montreal" (the old city) by foot, but with a Metro stop nearby, it's do-able.
The hotel bar had duck confit spring rolls on the menu (!!) during happy hour. They were excellent. Being in a "French" city, anything less than great food would have been a...

I stayed at this beautiful hotel for a conference in the middle of April, for 4 days and thought it was fantastic. I was greeted by the doorman and whenever we came and went, the doors were opened for us. The folks behind the front desk always had a smile and were so kind and professional - it's nice to... more
I stayed 7 nights. As a Platinum Elite member (meaning I stay at Marriotts more than 75 days every year) , I had asked for a high floor with a king sized bed. I had booked about 1 month ahead and confirmed by credit card. Upon arrival, a cheerful and chatty check-in staff attended to me but....I was given a... more
We got a room with access to the concierge level and it was well worth it. The views from a top floor are amazing especially with the half circle windows that go from floor to ceiling. The food was good, the people helpful.
THIS IS A EXCERPT FROM MY RECENT LETTER OF COMPLAINT: I stayed at the Montreal Marriott Chateau Champlain for three nights last month. At the time of check out on Sunday, 5/29, I had a significant amount of Canadian money remaining. Being from the U.S., I no longer needed this. I put the remaining Canadian cash, approximately $114 toward my hotel room charges. This amounted to approximately... more
My fiancee(b/f at the time) and I went to stay for our first trip to montreal for our 6th year anniversary. Arriving from the nightmare at the airport to the wonderful hotel, I felt right at home. The staff was neither grumpy nor dismissive. Our room was incredible. It had a beautiful view on the downtown area. The bed was incredibly big and full of nice pillows. Only complaint was the pillows... more
I've stayed at the Chateau Champlain sever times over the years. In fact, twice in the last two months. Most of the rooms have been renovated to the new Marriott standard. The rooms have a massive half moon window with spectacular views of the city (ask for a... more
This historical hotel is a true sky scraper. When you enter the lobby you might sense a scent of old school hospitality. It is correct. The eye contact we received walking through the reception area was commendable. The clients also seem very social which helped the slow elevator ride. This hotel is a great value, the rates are reasonable, the location is perfect and convenient for exploring the city, the hotel itself is well kept and very nice. I would definately stay again! The service and staff were excellent and more than happy to assist with anything we needed!
the doorman was friendly and very helpful; the staff overall was awesome. The view from our window was spectacular. The room was nice and quiet. We like to get up early and start walking...we go to bed early, 9pm-ish. We don't do the nightlife...we don't go clubbing or gamble but we knew that it was available nearby the hotel. Would have liked a 75' lane pool, but we spent most of our time... more
I was particularly impressed concierge! Articulate, friendly and efficient without being to formal, she anticipated our needs, made wonderful choices for dinner, arranged for reservations and mapped out our quest for choosing a dress for my wife to wear to an improtant wedding in Washington D.C. next month. We were both extremely impressed and pleased with our experience!
Very positive hotel experience in a wonderful city. You simply cannot beat the convenience of the hotel's being above the Bonaventure Metro. You can't tell this on maps necessarily, but hotel is close by Metro to Old Montreal and within walking distance to downtown. Hotel's distinctive appearance easy to spot in centre city. Many conveniences onsite including Starbucks & gift shop/sundries... more
Great location. Connected to the metro and walkable to all of downtown. Nice quiet are near St Catherine street. Staff is friendly and helpful, rooms are clean and the architecture gives you great windows/views of the city. Ask for a higher floor if possible to get better views.
I was very pleased with this hotel. Beautiful lobby and very nice room. It is a great value for the price. The free breakfast for the kids was a nice add-on too. They have a great buffet.
It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the old town/waterfront, which was a little bit of a drag doing over and over again, but not too bad. The area seemed fairly safe walking back from the old town at night...

Great Marriott Hotel ina Great Location. I came to Montreal to see a concert at the Bell Centre and the Hotel is right next to venue. You can even get to the venue through an underground tunnel if the weather is not good. It is also only a short walk to St. Catherine St where a lot of activites and cafes are located.
In town for the International Jazz Festival specifically to see John Legend and Sade. Enjoyed shopping in the underground mall and site-seeing in Old Town Montreal. Hotel was in a good location within walking distance of everything. Convenient access to the Metro and Bell Centre. The conceirge was very helpful in giving directions and recommendations for places to eat. Hotel restaurant has... more

Love this hotel! Exterior is a 1970s disaster with half-moon windows for the rooms. Interior feels like a hotel that tries to be classier than it is, but guess what, I love it! Lots of character, friendly and steps from the Bell Centre where the Montreal Canadiens NHL hockey team plays. Walking distance to great shopping on Ste-Catherine Street. Enjoy!
The Montreal Marriott is a little faded around the edges but makes up for it in comfort and friendly service. We liked our room, which was comfortably appointed with an old world decor, a large window and an excellent view of the St. Lawrence River. The Marriott's location is a major advantage with easy access to the underground shopping mall, the train station and the downtown area. It's a... more
Rooms very run down and dirty. Lobby was very nice location excellent.. Would not stay there again until the rooms are redone.
The reviews on this place seemed to be a bit of a mixed bag, but leaned towards the positive so I decided to go for it. I am glad I did. The hotel tried to bill me an extra 70$ for having 4 people even though I specified that 4 people were staying when I booked with orbits. It was very tacky for them to do that without telling me. No free breakfast or refrigorator. Other than that it was a pleasant stay.
The metro train has an entrance at the hotel (train below hotel) which made getting around the city very easy. The front desk was very helpful with "places to see", restaurants, directions, etc.. Would definately stay there again.
This a great location for visiting Montreal. View of the downtown and Mt. Royal through the curved window was spectacular. Room was nice but furnishings and finishes tired and could use freshening. ... more
I was sponsored by my organization for an 11 night's stay which was followed by 8 night's of personal stay with my spouse. Our stay was comfortable and [...], the concierge was very instrumental in helping me coordinate a surprise gift on Le Bateau Mouche dinner cruise. I habitually stay in Marriotts across Canada, primarily in Toronto and Ottawa. The location is great however, this hotel is in desperate need of a facelift. I went to the Kinetik music festival, which is held yearly.
The location was excellent, the service was good and the staff are friendly.
The service was beyond excellent. The front desk answered many of my questions with smiles and room service and housekeeping staff members were also very friendly. I would stay here again
Great location, very friendly and helpful staff. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. A great value for a top quality hotel.
Stayed mid-March 3 days. The hotel was in a great location walking. Walking distance to old Montreal and the views from the higher floor that we stayed on were great. The hotel staff were very nice. The only complaint that I would have is that the rooms and other areas of the hotel are really outdated i.e. furntiure in room chipped and scratched, tv was old. but the room was clean as was the... more
3-class room, broken shower, broken basin in bathroom, not very clean in general. Parking is expensive - you pay everytime you go in and out. Doorstaff was naggy. You are basically paying for the location.
Great hotel. First class service. Connected to subway system. Luxury bed linnen. I recieved insect bites on my legs that likely originated from bed.
The hotel gave me time away from stresses of my conference (at nearby Palais de Congres), choices and options, peace and quiet for rest, and service for a queen. I shopped in lobby, checked out restaurants, and had room-service deluxe. Everything was supplied or at my request-- even envelops. I was comfortable and able to pamper myself. The spa with [...] was the beginning and end all of my... more
Great hotel with very friendly staff. It is "old" as reported by other reviewers. I have stayed in many "new" hotels though with a lot of problems though. Here at least everything works, and there are great city views. Everything seems close and I got a great nights sleep.
Walkable to the conference center. Metro access directly from the hotel. Staff was exteremely helpful.
I always stay at a Marriott hotel when I travel. This was my first out of US Marriott stay and was very happy to find the consistency of unmached quality service of the Marriott brand at this location. I found the staff to be very patient and pleasant in translating English to French, giving directions and recomending sites to see. The location is the best in the city at walking distance to... more
Directly above the Bonaventure Metro Station. Concierge helpful for various excursion tickets. Room furnishings a little worn. Nice Muffin Plus coffee shop and convenience stores in hotel lobby.
The location is great and it is a very nice place but I had a big problem while there. I have a bad back and always stay in hotels that have a whirlpool. I called the hotel a couple of days before my arrival to make sure about the whirlpool and I was assured it was available. The whirlpool was broken and not available for 4 out of the seven days I was there. I will not stay there again.
This hotel recently underwent a renovation but bathrooms, furniture and TVs are not newly renovated (reminded me of a 3 star hotel from the 1980s). The staff was unfriendly and not very helpful. We had bug bites from the bed, we were told someone from management would follow up but to date (3 days later) no one has. I have to return to Montreal in February but will stay at a different... more
Started off by not having the room we requested available. Long line at check-in, front door bell hop was rude. Lots and Lots of school kids who shouted to each other at all hours. Could have walked to the old town if we... more
Hotel is very modern, with a very polite and helpful staff. Has a starbucks on premises and a direct entrance to montreal's metro.
This trip was built around attending Montreal's "Comedy Festival" and visiting the "Old Port area". The room and unique arched picture window gave impressive views of downtown Montreal. The lobby and various public area's are decorated luxuriously. My only complaint is that after booking a room for four guests, through Orbits, and getting a confirmed price including "all taxes & fee's", the... more
We were looking for a hotel in downtown Montreal that was close to the sites we wanted to see. This was perfect, within a 20 minute walk of everything. The spa, pool, and workout room are excellant. The room was adequate though they could use a little updating, i.e. new flat screen tv's would be great.
Rooms where kept very clean.
As soon as we arrived we knew we made a good choice. You can't beat the location. Everything was walking distance. Good restaurants. Excellent shopping. You can't go wrong with this one. You have to see the Notre Dame Basilica. It's out of this world !
Hotel was close to everything. Walking distance to shopping areas and restaurants. About 1/2 hr walk to Old Montreal, Notre Dame Basilica and Chinatown. The Service by the hotel employees was great especially by [...] of Reservations and [...] [Concierge].
The best location in Montreal. Almost every area was within walking distance, or an easy bus or Metro ride away. There's even a Metro entrance directly into the hotel. The staff was wonderful. My only complaint is that all floors didn't have ice machines, and at least two were out-of-order, including the one on our floor. I would definitely stay here again.
Close to the metro and train station. Great valet parking.
My room was wonderful and clean. The staff was helpful unless there was more than 10 people in the lobby. There was never enough staff to assist the guests waiting for help.
doorman were charming and engaging, and the Monday-Friday concierge was also charming and gave us excellent advise about bakeries and restaurants. We wer on the 16 floor on the front of the hotel and the views from our room were outstanding adn helped me get familiar with the area. The hotel was in a great location--center of the city and 50 yards from the Metro line. Lots to do here in this city. We visited the old port area of Montreal, Mont Royal, the Art Museum (Beatles display was nice), McGill U., and all the restaurants were fabulous. A great city to visit with lots to do and great weather!!
The hotel had an underground metro station that I used to go to all parts of the city. No need to brave the weather when you can do most of your moving around underground!
Little problem with the hotel bill. Tried to charge us more, when already paid through Orbitz.
The hotel was very nice. It is a short walk from the shopping district of downtown Montreal. The room wasn't huge but was big enough, with two beds with beautiful down bedding. The windows were a unique bowed out semi-circular shape with a very nice window treatment. We liked the separate dressing room area. The elevators were the best I've been in, quiet and fast. The lobby had 2 gift shops and... more
The location is quite good - Metro station connected to the hotel, and walking distance (2 blocks) from rue St. Catherine, although there wasn't much in the immediate area around the hotel. Pool was not very big, but there was a jacuzzi and that was nice.Overall ok,... more
The location of this hotel is absolutely fantastic. We stayed on the 30th floor and had a spectacular view of all of down town. Excellent service, wonderful facilities, and convenient transportation. Really couldn't ask for much more. Only thing that could use improvement was the television. I've just gotten used to the world of HDTV.
Mon copain et moi avons été ébahi par le service! Wow! Le valet qui nous ouvre la porte, le réceptionniste qui me regarde et m'accueille avant même que j'aie à attendre une seconde.
