They turned me away on my birthday... They said I needed a free cone coupon, but my birth date is on my license. What really sucked was that the woman in front of me claims it was her birthday as well and had nothing to show for it. She had the coupon...Then the worker said he could sing to me,... more
The actual taste of the ice cream itself is not a good as Foothill creamery ice cream which you are better off finding at wholesale prices. And the chocolate bar/other add ins are always seeming stale compared to ones you buy yourself. You are better off planning ahead a little bit and making it yourself for 1/50th the cost!
On the day of my father's birthday, I decided to try Marble Slab instead of DQ for an ice cream cake. I called the store asking if they had any small cakes in stock. They did, so I chose one, gave them a message to write on it, and said I'd be in shortly to pick it up.
Before I...

Our 9 year old daughter went into the Marble Slab location at 16561 97 Street at 8 pm on Friday July 19. She was given $30 to buy two ice cream mixes. She returned with $3.80. My wife went into the store to ask for a receipt. Before she could ask she was given a $10 bill.
The ice cream...

Ice cream melts RIDICULOUSLY fast.
My dad was going with everyones orders, And as soon as he got there he had to call everyone to ask what ELSE they wanted from the 6 flavors there. NO ONE got what they wanted.
Bowls are extremely small, and extremely overpriced. My family usually gets icecream there once or twice a year to...

I bought a birthday cake for my self as someone said it was great, unfortunately I prefer Dairy Queens cakes as they have more flavor and do not melt as fast.
The icecream is okay. I ordered a banana split thinking that it would come with all of the same things that come at Dairy Queen. I was mistaken. I was given one topping for free and had to pay extra for the others. It turned out to be a very expensive small ice cream. No place to sit inside that... more
I have mixed feelings with marble slab... the novelty of having your mixed ingredients prepared in front of you was nice at the beginning, but I think the novelty has worn off. Don't get me wrong, the ice cream is still good, and I appreciate the "gourmet" ingredients, but sometimes it's not enough... For the price, I think I need... more
After going to a wedding and having to wait for the upcoming meal. We thought we would stop for a few minutes and catch up with all the family over a nice cold treat.
Marble slab is an unliscenced Canadian rip-off of an American establishment, Cold Stone, so its like the tribute band of an actually good ice cream store. Since its frantic, line-up-down-the-street opening a few years ago, i think they've found selling ice cream in our climate is a tough buisness model, so now your add-ins are weighed and meted out like... more
I have not been to the 10156-109th Street location but I'm sure they are MUCH better than the Windermere location!! I WAS excited when this place opened as it is closer to me than South Common but I will NEVER EVER return to this location. I wouldn't even give a 1 star if possible.
I bought a mini cake from...

Having fresh ice cream in January is a treat on a warmer day. The service was excellent. Thanks so much!
There's no question, the ice cream itself was delicious. I also really enjoyed the customizing aspect of how you could mix and match your own flavours. You're going to pay for it dearly though so be prepared for that.
It'll be a frosty Friday when I'll every pay $10 for another ice cream cone. Although the go through a lot of work, I'll take a McDonald's soft ice cream any day.
The combos you can order from what seems like a small selection of ice cream is almost endless. The toppings they offer and made just to order! It's amazing to watch the employees creatae your masterpiece right in front of your eyes. Such a nice change from ordering regular ice cream (ie: plain chocolate, tiger, bubblegum, etc). Always something for... more
The truth is Marble Slab doesn't serve up particularly good ice cream. They can dress it up a million different ways, but if you just want an ice cream and cone, there are way better places
What's not to love about an ice cream shop!?!? You can pick everything and I mean EVERYTHING about your ice cream and they will make it right before your eyes. If you want a basic cone or an old fashion malt or the maximum you need to visit Marble Slab Creamery! They have the best, most creamiest homemade ice cream... more
A premium ice cream shop, sometimes with long lines. Good service and delicious, custom-mixed, chunky ice cream.
The ice cream is good not fantastic and pricy. The selection is varied around 20 or so. We have been to 5 locations in Edmonton and all but the west end location have rude uninterested staff. It doesn't seem like customer service is their # 1 priority in which case going out of business is imminent.
The Marble Slab Creamery provides delicious ice cream which you can then select mixings (toppings) to be mixed into on a marble slab before it is scooped into the cone of your choice. Whether you mix your own or ask for one of their suggested mixes, it is fantastic ice cream. Warning it's addictive!
So yummy perfect for a birthday or a just because you feel like it snack! make your own cake and don't forget the gummy bears
Yes, it smells amazing as soon as you come within 50 yards of the place. Yes, the ice cream is yummy, BUT I have had equally delicious ice cream at other shops that make it from scratch as well...and my wallet took MUCH less of a beating.
The staff seemed utterly bored and some were even staggering on being rude...

Always an excellent place to get your ice cream. Sometimes a line up however thats to be expected on hot days just brings the kid out in you
Staff were a little surly and looked bored. Strange but fairly unique concept of serving ice-cream, but personally I find it a bit unneccessary. Too many options and no-one behind the counter offered any help, which would be really helpful for those not familiar with this brand. Process took too long and was expensive. A smile from the staff may... more
My family and I like coming to Marble Slab Creamery because of all their great flavors and toppings. They do allow you to sample first because you lock yourself in to a flavor. My personal favorite is the Apple Spice with Graham Crackers mixed in...yum. Almost tastes like apple pie!

great ice cream and fantastic frozen yogurt, not sure if anyone does that better but i was spoiled by yogurtland in the states and twisted yogurt and others in edmonton dont compare in taste except for Marble Slabs frozen yogurt
I love the Raspberry cheese cake ice cream, you make any combination you want, so good. The only thing negative I can say is it is a little on the pricey side but well worth it.
high priced ice cream with "mixins" aka a table spoon of whatever you choose. the namao location is going downhill. and the foreign woman who clearly owns the place is not friendly at all, and she doesn't seem to know what is going on.
The coolest place for Ice Cream. Mix any and all flavours you want into a super yummy blend of your very own personal icecream. Get it in a cup, a cone or pick up a box of their Ice Cream Cupcakes for the whole family.
It's yummy goodness all year round!
I picked up a turtle cake for superbowl.... i definately won the best dish award... thanks!
I don't know why people are obsessed with this place. Everything tastes the same to me. I'll go here only if my friends insist. Don't go to the South Edmonton Common one because the owner treats his staff poorly and screams at them right in front of customers.
I like the ice cream but starting at $5 for a cone it's a little pricey. My 8 yr old loves it though so we go on hot days.
Love ice cream and marble Slab has done an excellent job maintaining the quality and cleanliness of it's venue. Cheers!
I have a big complain about my on-line order.
The reason I am complaining-
1. When I stepped in the store to pick up my cake yesterday. The guy looked at me and seemed to think that "did you order it?" AND he asked me how you ordered it, did you order by phone? Then I told him that I...

My daughter ordered a cake for me for my birthday last year, May, 2010, at a Marble Slab in North Edmonton (97Street). Customer service is aweful. I ordered a birthday cake for my 16 year old daughter and got a totally different cake from the one I ordered. I normally don't like franchises and chains, but the ice cream here is excellent and the ice cream cakes are really, really good!
Good ice cream, nice gimmick in picking the mixables.
The Marble Slab Creamery is well noted for providing excellent cones and sundaes. That is about it. I like the place, but that is because a number of us from work like to treat ourselves occasionally.
It's expensive, don't kid yourself.
It's also one of a chain located through-out Edmonton and North America.

Best ice cream in town...for a price. Freshest ice cream around, and if you can think of it, they can probably make it. Very rich, so I would get a small.
Best ice cream in town!! Smells good, looks good, and tastes good!!
very good but very expensive
You want ice cream .. this is THE place to go!
Kind of a rip off, but they do have this Birthday Cake Chocolate that is yummy!
Favourite ice creams are coconut and butter pecan. Not a big fan of the dipped waffle cones.
