Yes you need to expect in Niagara Falls that a restaurant would be busy and crowded but the tables were very close together and didnt leave much room. The staff were friendly butdidn't check in often. The quality of the food was good portions very large and price is average. We got 2 pasta dishes, 2 kids meals, an appetizer... more
My husband and I loved this restaurant and would love to come back again.
The bruschetta with cheese was amazing, the veal cutlet was juicy, and the pasta had the homemade taste to it. And the prices were very reasonable.
It was a bit noisy on a Saturday evening, but that's ok, the food was worth it.
If you are looking for a reasonably priced restaurant in the hub of Clifton Hill, this is the place to eat. The Italian food is very good and homemade. The staff are very attentive and are honest when making menu recommendations. If you are on a tight food budget or traveling with several people, this place is a good find.... more
The restaurant is a nice spot to stop into on near Clifton Hill that's a little different. I had veal with mushrooms and seasoned tomatoes. The wife had chicken parmagiana. Both came with pasta. Our young boys enjoyed the kid's menu. The food was good and reasonable for a tourist area. The restaurant is older and the décor and furniture... more
Back in the 80's and 90's this was a great restaurant. In the heart of tourist land. Now it just plain filthy. Stained carpets dirty furniture. Go somewhere else. Shame on the owners. Clean your restaurant, refinish the furniture.
Could not decide if we should try this place, but we had the pizza quite authentic and other menu items looked good, located right in the casino mall.
We used a groupon to try this restaurant. We were really impressed with the food and service. Everyone in our party of four really enjoyed their meal. The meals were delicious! Our waitress was very attentive. We will deffinately be back.
the pizza was good; the pasta was bland and boring. All in all not a restaurant I would recommend. Unfortunately there was not a lot of open restaurants in Niagara on a Thursday in January
Ate here recently on a weekend getaway to the falls. Located in a food court at the Casino. Was surprised at the quality of food. Delicious dishes and a good quality for the price. I would surely return for a pineapple and ham pie..
This is an excellent comfort food type of place to have a delicious dinner before going to the theatre at the casino. Consistently good service and food. The pasta dinners taste like home made; the salads fresh and delicious. The servers happily accommodate your time frame - a leisurely family meal or " I want to enjoy my dinner but... more
The lasagna is delicious! It's a good place for a change. Forget about the fast foods and enjoy a table meal at a reasonable price.
Enjoy!
Our family of four (2 adults, 2 teens) ate at this restaurant last week. Our drinks, appetizers , and entrees were all excellent. The portions were very large. The atmosphere was very nice (old school) which my husband and I appreciated. The restaurant and washrooms were spotless and staff very attentive.
We will definitely return.
Food was ok, price was expensive for the quality/amount of food. I would NOT recommend going back. This was not Italian quality. The waitress/server...well It was as if they were doing us a favour of being there and serving us.
Food was tasty, fresh and above average southern Italian fare. Hearty portions, friendly server, prompt service. Price is very much in line with any Italian restaurant, perhaps a tad higher but noit much. 13.99 for Spaghetti and Meatballs. 17.95 chicken parm. Nice old world sauce...not over spiced, more of a marina style, pasta slightly el dente. You will not be... more
We decided to eat here for our anniversary dinner. A former patient of mine had recommended this place for a great Italian meal... He was right!!! We had an EXCELLENT meal! The fettuccine Alfredo was AMAZING! The portions were huge and the staff was excellent! The prices are very affordable. We will definitely return on our next trip to Niagara... more
My husband and I visit Niagara Falls about every 6 weeks and this week decided to have dinner at Mama Mia's, when we walked in the door it really does look a lot like an authentic Italian restaurant but that is where it finishes. The food is just not that great and we really were greatly dissapointed. I love veal... more
There's hope for the falls. We come down several times a year and use to eat at the beef baron. It started going down hill fast. More night club then fine dining. Anyway, it pushed us out to try new places. After several restaurants we found mama mia. The atmosphere was soft and relaxing. Wait stuff was awsome and the... more
We were there just a few days ago. The carpet and booth seatbacks were so filthy, it looked like they haven't been cleaned in decades. Walked out without ordering a thing.
Our hotel recommended this place and we were glad we went. The price was very reasonable for Italian food and it was very good and more than we could eat. Service and location were great.
It's difficult to find reasonably prices food at the casino, or even in the area. But this was not bad for price. And the food was very good. Not outrageously good, but pretty good Italian. Servers were very nice. Would recommend this. Couples, families, friends.
Excellant food, prices reasonable. Our server was very informative & helpful. Only exception I didn't enjoy the coffee. The wine selection was highly recommended.
I ordered the veal parmigiana and I was not impressed. My bread was dry, the butter packets were melted to liquid, and the sauce on all of our food was so basic. Almost tasted like canned tomato sauce :( At least the veal was whole and not some pounded and formed "cutlet." Either way, the food did not taste authentic... more
Oh my goodness - the food is incredible here but you'd best be very hungry when you visit here as the portions are huge, and the food is absolutely delicious. I had lasagna- it was enough to feed 3 people. Will definitely return here! Prices are reasonable also.
So good we went there 2 days in a row to try different meals. Very filling, was stuffed! Very good prices for homemade pasta/pizza/bread. Bread is outstanding and included. Easy walk from Skyline Inn. Great service. Best Italian in the area. Highly recommended for taste and value
Our party of four were a little disappointed in our recent visit. Veal Parm was barely warm and burnt tasting, my daughter penne meal was salty and it was expensive for what you got. No veggies or salad comes with meal. paid parking is a hassle. We much prefer Frados or Four Brothers. The waitress was nice and the atmosphere... more
I'm glad my wife and I walked past all the chain restaurants and decided to give Mama Mia's a try. She had the lasagna, I had the chicken cacciatore. Both were very good and the portions were huge. Good service and a great value. The restaurant shows its age, but to us that was all part of the charm.
The minestrone soup I ordered was a disaster they added tomato souse above and the taste was terrible. We ordered 3 dishes all of them were prepared in the same canned tasteless tomato souse. When we complained about it the answer was this is our "Home made' souse. Ohh MAMA did you forgot the recipe for your souse or it... more
We have eaten at Mama Mia's since the 70's when visiting Niagara Falls. It never disappoints. Our dinner was delicious. The only negative was the temperature of the room--we were very warm. I mean to the point of not knowing if we could sit there and finish warm. Maybe it was because we were seated in a corner but it... more
Not easy to find a good restaurant with reasonable prices in Niagara Falls. Mama Mia's lunch menu did the trick for us, with many selections below $10. The lasagna was superb, very moist, tasty, filling. The veal parmigiana was made with real veal. I was expecting a veal patty. The batter on the veal was crunchy and the sauce was... more
Priced reasonably for the Clifton Hill area (lunch menu) but the quality isn't anything memorable. The bruschetta was doughy, not toasted at all, very little in the way of garlic, olive oil or spices. Basically chopped tomatoes.
The lasagna was served with a very thin marinara, mostly pasta with a grainy cheese, not like any ricotta I've ever had. We...

Similar to Chef-Boy-Ardee! Or Stouffers frozen dinner! The bread was like toast, not Italian at all! The waitress didn't even listing to my husband finish ordering her drink..she just heard "Grey Goose Vodka Martini" and turned and walked away...didn't hear the "On the rocks with a twist". Bad choice if you are looking for an Italian dinner.
Restaurant was under staffed and my chicken was over cooked. My husband wanted to order the homemade spaghetti, but they were all out of it at 7pm. When I finally got my water, it had something black floating in it...and my salad never did make it to the table.
I rarely give bad reviews... but I would recommend skipping this...

First night in Niagara Falls had supper here not impressed. The waitress was putting down different food on the menu when we asked her what she would recommend. Finally ordered what she recommended. It was not that good the pasta was overcooked and the sauce was bland. Not what we were expecting esspecially for an Italian restaurant.Had a cocktail very poorly... more
Had lunch in this dark and gloomy restaurant where the bread was stale and far from being Italian. As was the spaghetti and 1 meatball, which was over sauced with overcooked pasta. No such thing as al dente here. Prices were fair. But don't expect original Italian.
This has to be the worst Italian meal I have had anywhere in the world!!!
I have tasted better spaghetti out of a can than what is served at this place.Be prepared what you will get is a clump of dried spaghetti that has been boiled and than smothered in a tasteless red sauce that probably comes from a can....

This restaurant could use some updating and a really good cleaning but the food was to die for. This was one of our best meals in Niagara Falls and was a great value compared with most restaurants in the Clifton hill area.
My husband and I were looking for a nice dinner on our first evening at Niagara Falls. We'd had a long car ride and had taken a nice hike from our hotel to the Falls. We had first stopped at a restaurant (Kelsey's) about a block away from Mama Mia's. The confusion we experienced while trying to get a table... more
Good food good value. Garlic Bread was ala carte, that wsthe only real disappointment. Had the chicken parmesan, husband had the evening special Chicken pesto pasta
We love Italian and this sure fit our bill - !!! The food tasted authentic Italian. The location was close to where we wanted to be and the atmosphere was wonderful. We will surely re-visit Mama Mia's Original Italian. GREAT Pizza AS WELL.
After a long day of driving to get to Niagara Falls, getting checked into our B&B, walking 1 &1/2 miles and enjoying the sun setting over the falls we were finally ready for a meal. I am so glad we stumbled into this wonderful Italian restaurant. The service was great even though it was late (after 9pm) and the food... more
I had the Penne-Pollo-Pesto(Penne pasta tossed with chicken, pesto sauce, cream, fresh tomato sauce and herbs) and it was amazing. I've never had rose sauce with pesto in it, to be honest I just ate the pasta, I didn't even need the chicken. My Mom had the "Bit of Italy" (Combination of our homemade dishes: Manicotti, Cannelloni & Fettuccine Alfredo.)... more
Found this place by accident, in the food court of a casino in Niagara Falls Ontario. We got it to go and took it back to our hotel.
My daughter and I ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo with wild mushroom sauce and a side of garlic bread. WOW. Upon my first bite I was transported to a restaurant outside of piazza...

Prior to traveling to Niagara Falls my wife saw some very positive reviews. I do not know where she was looking or what has happened in the meantime. This was quite possibly one of the worst restaurants I've been to in quite some time. This is for the Mama Mia located in the Fallsview Casino. We should have been clued in by the lack of people in the restaurant but this was our third night in Niagara Falls and after having two great meals the first two nights... more
This restaurant was very average. I enjoyed the bread, my bf got a baby shrimp pasta and I got the bit of Italy (fettucini Alfredo, manicotti, and something else). His was spaghetti with a ton of baby shrimp, but the sauce was runny like water and there was no other seasoning. He didn't care for it. The manicotti was fairly... more
The garlic bread with cheese was tasteless rubbery cheese. Deep fried mozzerella sticks were fine and sauce was good. We were looking for something to eat late and found this place. Service fast and thin crest pizza good. We visited Niagara Falls with my wife in April 2013. We were looking for some Italian food and we happened to find Mama Mia's. A few local people recommended this restaurant to us while we were on our recent trip to Niagara Falls. And in our previous travels we have found that normally these recommended places turn out to be the best places to go. There wasn't anything we disliked other than having to go upstairs to eat. Would have preferred to be at street level.
This place is running on Mama's good name, and in the past a great place to eat but not any longer. Food was burnt, tasteless, and not home made! The waitess told us the antipasto came out of a jar!! We returned everything back to the kitchen and still stuck with the bill. There are much better places to dine in Niagara Falls, leave your money in your pocket........poor Mama she is probably... more
I am 61 years old, and have been going to Mama Mia's once a year since I was 12 years old. The food and the friendly service has been consistantly excellent for all these years. We would to to Northern Quebec Province to go fishing and always stopped by the falls. Mama Mia's was what I always looked forward to most. Their Gnocchi is superb, and the meatballs are heavenly. Please go there... more
Okay, this one has, in my opinion, the whole package. It is not in the middle of everything, but that adds to its charm. It is an Italian restaurant that offers a very elegant and romantic setting. The food there is very good, and they have an extensive selection of wine. I really would stop here if you have the opportunity. Along with the food, the service is above and beyond.
Well, all the workers sounded like they were straight from Italy. The tables were small and romantic with candlelight. The food was to die for and priced very low. We had a great time!!

If you had an Italian grandmama, her cooking would be the highlight at this restaurant, which has more than four decades of culinary experience under its belt. Located in the midst of town, Mama Mia's features dark woods, dim lighting and red-and-white gingham tablecloths, all giving it that classic Italian restaurant feel.
