manger entre amis, tres bon et bon service.
Un tres bon restaurant pas cher!
Even Catherine Deneuve goes there!
Food is great, the owner is cool and you can have a generous portion in your plate at a very reasonable price.
I went there on a busy Saturday night, where I had to wait for about 25-30 mins, however it was worth all the wait. Eventhough, it was busy and crowded the service was extraordinary! I had butter chicken, lamb biryani (my favorite) and goat curry with obviously a must have, fresh naan bread. It was sooooooo good. I cant even... plus
Great food, great service. The reviews lived up to the food. The portions were great giving us dinner for later. We will definitely visit again on our next trip to Montreal.
We have been going to Malhi for years. Serving excellent food, this is an unpretentious, friendly, family business (the owner is always on the premises) It seats about thirty, in clean and basic surroundings which have lately been renovated. The food is always intensely flavorful. Portions are generous and the price is very reasonable. Bet bets: channa samosa ( appetizer)... plus
Newly renovated. With the most tasty variety of delightfull meals ever !!!!!! Excellent service. A cozy. Setting with a verry reasonable. Price !!!!!!!!
Some of the best Indian food in Montreal. I used to eat there all the time when I worked in Parc Extension. The channa samosas are incredible, simply amazing. The sweet tamarind and cool yogurt pair so well with the good level of heat. I still dream of these even years after moving away from Montreal. Alas I don't think these samosas would ship well Fedex overnight. Well done, honest food in a... plus
My boyfriend and I went to this restaurant on Saturday night after having read some excellent reviews. Honestly, I was so disappointed and confused by all the misleading ranting and raving that all I have the urge to say is "What's wrong with you people? Have none of you ever had good Indian food in your lives?" Perhaps my expectations -- shaped by a mind-blowing Indian meal at a childhood... plus
Having been exposed to Indian cuisine my entire life and on numerous continents I am always on a quest to find that authentic Indian restaurant experience here in Montreal.
Recently my search led me to Malhi Sweets.
I found the decor to be bright and refreshing as opposed to dim and dingy like a few resto's in the area but that being said, environment was never really at the top of my...

My favourite Indian restaurant in Montreal! The butter chicken is outstanding, and so are the samosas!
It's always fun to go as a large group and order a bunch of dishes to share. Truly delicious!
I've been to this place about ten times food is always delicious and really flavored. I recommend aloo tikki, butter chicken, naan and rice, aubergines (eggplant) Average price for 2 : 30$
The restaurant itself is slightly small, seating maybe 20-25 people max, but the service is impeccable. Right away we got our drink orders and any questions i had for the waiter about the food were answered easily.
Food itself was very moist, and had the right amount of spices. I love their naan and their samosas. The aloo gobi is...

I am a regular customer for atleast 12-13 yrs.I am in love with this place! I don't think you should take the bad reviews to "heart". You should firstly go try out this amazing indian restaurant! Its been around since 16 years? Well then we already know its the best in montreal! I have read the bad reviews and I do not believe them. Haters gonna hate LOL.
i been there many indian restaurants, i am from india, i heard malhi sweet restaurant so i desided to try dinner,me and my husband been the restaurant, food was ok and service is not good and we cannot bring own wine, they don't have a good wine so we are very disaapointed for that situation, waiter doesn't speck good english. i will not go to this restaurant, i don't recommand . this is my... plus
Let me start by saying that this is overall the best Indian food I've tried. They pay attention to even the smallest things. For example, some Indian restaurants have good dishes but then they have c@!%!y sides. Malhi's rice is the best. It tastes so light and fluffy (I also sometimes eat it plain) and compliments the dishes perfectly. The naan is sooo good. All of their non-veg dishes have... plus
One of my favourite restaurant in Montreal. Not the best geographic position, nor the best decor, but the food is awesome!
where i'm from, there's a big population of indians and great indian restaurants.
the indian food at malhi is ok compared to the fantastic indian food from sf bay area.
maybe for montreal, it's "the best" because there isn't a lot of competition around.
so onwards with the food review:
- naan (was one of the best naan i've had. definitely giving credit here)
- chili chicken (mediocre- tasted...

If you like Indian food but don't want so spend lots of money, this is a good place.
Its a small restaurant so the service is fast and the portions are more than sufficient.

We went a few months ago with the Yelp gang for a tasting of pretty much everything on the menu.
The Food was well prepared with a very 'home made', authentic feel and not too spicy(I've eaten vindaloo that made me see through time). Service was prompt, polite and the beer was cheap; They stuck the landing.
It's an experience, like eating in a Bollywood movie...but I've yet to...

Came here on a particularly icy, cold night to meet up with some fellow Yelpers to get our collective Indian on. Despite the somewhat tacky interior and warbling Bollywood on the tv, the place was fairly full and as soon as I opened the door, all I could think of was getting some saag paneer and beer into my gob.
Each one of our 8 people ordered something differed: 2 types of paneer, a yummy...

I came here with a group of fellow food lovers. The place was fairly full on a Thursday evening, but a table for 8 was available.
We decided to each order a different dish, and try a bit of everything. The chicken tikka was great - the chicken was tender and flavourful and the vegetables were fresh and crisp. The saag paneer, a spinach dish with paneer cheese, was delicious - fresh pieces of...

Two words: Catherine Deneuve. What other Montreal restaurant (of any stripe?) can boast a photograph of Catherine Deneuve (and Leelee Sobieski [?]) on premises, and positively glowing after what was obviously another amazing Malhi Sweets meal?*
Malhi Sweets has been my go-to Indian restaurant for well over 10 years now (even before Ms. Deneuve paid her fateful visit). It's just wickedly,...

I 've been to many fine Indian restaurants, but the Malhi restaurant on Jarry west(880) is exceptional. The butter chicken, the lamb and goat curry is out of this world. Excellent and personalized service and dining. It is a small and cozy place. Must try!!
The tightly packed and gloomy setting of the rather pricey Golden Restaurant on rue St. Laurent was my favorite Indian restaurant until I was told about Sweet Malhi.
My taste buds were immediately overwhelmed with flavor and aroma of their delicious entrees and main dishes, their Naan bread was most excellent! Don't let the attitude of the waiter bother you, he probably works for a low salary....

Malhi Sweets is a few blocks from the north west corner of Jarry Park, seats approx 20 on super clean simple wooden tables and chairs by wide windows. It's not fancy: some Indian art and TV's broadcasting hot Bollywood music videos at a pretty mellow decibel, lots of framed clippings of great reviews and celebrity guests. There's an attentive staff and diverse clientele and everyone is smiling.... plus
If your looking for good food, good prices, in a no thrill no frill environment, this is the place.
We just love to go there.
Malhi sweets is one of the best Indian restaurants in Montreal. They have a wide variety of dishes and cater to vegetarians. Their food is cheaper compared to other Indian restaurants that I have been to, and yet their food is far superior to the others. Its a nice little restaurant with a nice ambiance. If you are in the... plus
Just an ordinary looking restaurant, but the food in this place is awesome, and the guys running the place do an excellent job of serving their customers.I've eaten there and taken food out and each time it's delicious.I highly recommend it.
This is a delicious restaurant with so much fresh and delicious food! The location is a little 'middle of nowhere' but it is so great, and well known! The walls have pictures of reviews and celebrities (ok, Leelee Sobieski, but she was "in" once!).The food though, is the real star.We had the channa samosas- so unreal, I could eat some right now!The butter chicken, of course, amongst other... plus
I would normaly put 4 stars, but i put the extra star to increase what it really is.
In my opinion, we don't rate an Indian rate like you rate a French or Italian restaurant and the reason is that service is almost really really s@!%!y. To make sure they won't have to learn the language (to some extension) they'll simply put numbers on their menu to facilitate the way the order is done. I've...

Located in a small, modest house, the family running Malhi Sweets treats you like one of their own. At busier times, other family members and friends pitch in to help the team. Televisions, tuned to the Indian channel or playing popular Bollywood films, contribute to the family-like atmosphere.
Variety Is the Spice of Life
Indian cuisine is known for its flavour and the colour of its dishes....

One of my favourite Indian restaurants, Great shahi paneer and baigen barta and very good nan.
Great place for vegetarians and meat lovers alike to have great Indian at an inexpensive price. The channa samosa is pretty unique... core dishes like butter chicken and curry beef are great. Also good is the aloo gobi.
Atmosphere/decor is more appropriate for good friends and beer... not a first date type of place.
One of the best Indian restos in the city.
Best food in the worst ambience.. It happens!
