Pampered and Pretty
After several poor cuts/colors from other salons and my own disasters from playing I came across Brian Rice at Maffeos. He not only did an amazing job of correcting the mess, it was affordable, and he taught me all kinds of things to make long curly hair work for you. Love this place!
Where to fix a bad haircut
I had a realy bad cut and color. New to Nanaio I decided to try Maffeo after reading some reviews. Now my hair is back to normal and I am pleased beyond words.

Unbelievable experience!! After 10 years in Nanaimo, cuts and colors ranging in price from $110.00 to $280.00 ( for short hair) and salons noted as the top in the country (sigh) FINALLY....! my hair is "current" again and my spirit renewed thanks to Brian Rice!!
I feel 10 years younger and it’s like being back in a city again..... people I don’t even know actually stop me and ask me "who does your hair"!!!. YaY!!
Best of all, if you can believe it.... the hair is like the icing on the cake, the entire Maffeo experience is transformational!

Brazilian Waxing and Eyebrow Waxing
I recently went to Maffeo Salon and Day Spa and had a Brazilian wax and my eyebrows waxed by Crystal, their esthetician. Talk about amazing!! Her energy is so warm and her services are over the top. She makes you feel comfortable, and does a truly amazing job.
If you need a brazilian wax in Nanaimo, or need your eyebrows waxed I would definitely recommend Crystal at Maffeo Salon and Day Spa.

Best Hair Salon and Stylists in Nanaimo!
I have been coming to Maffeo Salon and Day Spa since July 2008 and couldn't be happier. The service is amazing, the salon is beautiful, the coffee is delicious, and the hair stylists are so talented.
I am always extremely happy with my hair colour and hair cut, and receive compliments from friends, family, and strangers on a regular basis.
They also have a spa upstairs, where I've had the pleasure of getting a pedicure while my hair color is processing. What a lovely experience.

have finally found a hairstylist to stay with
I have lived in Nanaimo for 9 years and have tried expensive, moderately expensive and less expensive salons, but never got consistantly good haircuts until I tried Maffeo Salon. I have been going to Brian for 1 1/2 years and have never been disappointed. He is a Vancouver quality stylist but at a Nanaimo price.
Rude service
I was warned about the owners attitude but the place is so lovely and convenient I thought I would try. After waiting for 30 minutes for him, with no apology; I realized I would have to reschedule - still no apology or respect for my time/schedule.

Brian Rice from Maffeo Salon is the best hairstylist in Nanaimo. I have had my hair done at top salons in US and Canada, and have never seen such creative and precise work.

Maffeo Salon is the nicest salon in Nanaimo. The staff are all so friendly and professional, and the salon itself is gorgeous.
Brian Rice is my stylist, and he is amazing. I had been a 'hair colour virgin' for 22 years, and finally gave in after seeing all the beautiful colour jobs he was turning out. I have never loved my hair so much. Every time I go to Brian, I end up loving my hair more...
