exactly what i was looking for

the menu was reasonably priced but you got a really good value when you factor in the unlimited bread and salad bar. the restaurant was very romantic and intimate and had lovely vintage french/italian vibes. it was in the historic waterfront area of montreal so we really enjoyed around the area

Historical Pasta Experience

A lovely little restaurant in Old Montreal that had a small salad bar that preceded your meal, lovely buns on the table and delicious pasta choices. Very delicate flavours and at reasonable prices too.

Came here for dinner in November 2013. It was fairly busy early evening on a Saturday night.

Good Service

Went there for our first meal in Montreal, it's in a good location situated in old part of the city in the middle of hustle and bustle of performers and tourists, food was Okish (sort of reminded me Pizza Hut - well a slightly posh version) but I have to say the service was superb, very friendly and sweet.

Good food and service

Had a very nice meal here. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the lamb shanks. Salad comes with the meal and I had the house red wine which was from Spain. We had a very pleasant evening with great service. I would recommend this restaurant for a casual meal.

Wonderful

Our family all had excellent meals. Service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere
was very comfortable. The desert (chocolate cake) was huge so we were glad we shared. Recommended and worth the wait.

Had a great Sunday night wandering thru Old Montreal and along Rue St Paul. Asked for 3 pasta dishes and they were all spicy, even if we expresselly asked for non spicy, specially for the kid.
My lasagna had very small (almost unperceived) pieces of meat. Could not stop driking water because of hot tomato sauce.
Price: 80 dollars for 3 dishes + 2 beers. VERY expensive compared to quality.

Fabulous meat sauce

This is a great little restaurant in the Old Port area. We ended up eating there twice when a blackout shutdown the Metro leaving us stranded in the Old Port. Great hidden restaurant in Old Montreal

Best Italian food in a French city

I visited this restaurant on a Friday night. A friend and I wanted to eat in this area, and we were VERY surprised to find on a Friday evening (5:30ish?) that the majority of restaurants in this area were already closed for the evening! Quite ok

We found this cosy restaurant by accident, and decided to give it a try. We both took a simple spaghetti. The taste wasn't bad at all, but you can't call it Italian spaghetti. Within the price a salad bar is included, a nice extra. Atmosphere, but they could change the music (eg Italian music).

Perfect family or date restaurant

Been here twice - once with my family husband and parents and again in October with just my husband. Amazon both times. Great food - good wine I love the sangria. Service is fast ad waitresses very helpful. Very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere with exposed brick ect. Loved it will def be bac next time we are in Montreal.

Tasty food, sensibly priced

Food is at least half the price of those in the area. Good choice, especially of wine. Had a $14 entree which included rolls, loads of garlic butter and all-you-can-eat varied salad bar.

Nothing special

Honestly I was here 2 years ago and thought it was fantastic. The pasta seems homemade and service was good. This time I found that the sauces were fairly ordinary and the service was average. It's in a touristy area on Rue St. Paul in the old town which is convenient but there are other choices.

Great fresh food and excellent wine selection

The place is small clean and has great food. There are special addition items added to the menu which is great if you are a regular visitor. The salad bar items are extremely good and leave you almost full before your meal arrives. Overall a great place to go for an inexpensive meal

Overrated

This comes highly rated here on TA and on some paper guides. We found it to be rather expensive, at least by European standard, especially in view of the disappointing quality of the pasta they serve. Maybe it's because we are Italian and we have some very high standards for pasta, but we would not recommend it at all

Best place for tasty food, value and good service in Montreal

The salad bar is very good. The service is friendly and competent, too. One dish we ordered was good, and one was somewhat bland. Maybe stick with tomato-based sauces.

Here in one of the art neighborhoods of old Montreal we "stumbled upon" a very attractive place.
The wine was fine (house white), the food and service excellent . Even the open salad bar was de cent, with good dressings made in the kitchen not shaken from a bottle.

Average Food but Nice Atmosphere

Very nice ambiance and the service was good but the food was just OK. We had two different selections and both were large portions however the sauces were both too pastee and sugar sweet. The salad bar was small but nice. The bread fresh but cold. Just an OK place to try.
