This restaurant is like no other. We went inside and waited 15 minutes for someone to sit us while tables were empty. All the customers were yelling at the staff but no one cared. We had to go find a table by ourself because the staff was all on break ! The salad bar seamed liek it sitting there for days and there were no clean plates! We had to ask for plates. Our food came and we had to go... plus
Headed out for a casual dining experience and selected L'Usine de Spaghetti based on a quick search of the internet. My husband had a craving for chicken parm and this was one of the offerings on the menu. I picked the lamb chops with pesto spaghetti. Both of our entrees were quite good. The portion size was adequate. The food... plus
Even though we know this is not an haute cuisine type of place, we did have an excellent meal with a nice pitcher of sangria, warm bread rolls, fresh choices from the small salad bar, delicious pasta, and very sweet and attentive service from the young staff. It was a lovely place to linger over a late lunch/early supper on... plus
This is one of the finest Italian dinners I've ever had in my life. Was enticed into this restaurant by the specials written on a blackboard outside the restaurant. Had rigatoni smothered in sliced beef, covered with bolognese sauce and cheese. Have never had anything like this before, inside or outside the United States. Salad bar and warm bread (with... plus
the menu was reasonably priced but you got a really good value when you factor in the unlimited bread and salad bar. the restaurant was very romantic and intimate and had lovely vintage french/italian vibes. it was in the historic waterfront area of montreal so we really enjoyed around the area
A lovely little restaurant in Old Montreal that had a small salad bar that preceded your meal, lovely buns on the table and delicious pasta choices. Very delicate flavours and at reasonable prices too.
Came here for dinner in November 2013. It was fairly busy early evening on a Saturday night.
Upon arriving, we were rudely told that there were no two person tables available and told to stay out of the way by the doorway. Took about 20 minutes to be seated. Otherwise, the services was pretty mediocre in general.
The food was...

Went there for our first meal in Montreal, it's in a good location situated in old part of the city in the middle of hustle and bustle of performers and tourists, food was Okish (sort of reminded me Pizza Hut - well a slightly posh version) but I have to say the service was superb, very friendly and sweet.
Had a very nice meal here. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs and I had the lamb shanks. Salad comes with the meal and I had the house red wine which was from Spain. We had a very pleasant evening with great service. I would recommend this restaurant for a casual meal.
Our family all had excellent meals. Service was friendly and quick. The atmosphere
was very comfortable. The desert (chocolate cake) was huge so we were glad we shared. Recommended and worth the wait.
Had a great Sunday night wandering thru Old Montreal and along Rue St Paul. Decided to stop for dinner L'Usine De Spaghetti, although didn't realize the affiliation (The Spaghetti Factory) at the time. We were just drawn in by the menu and prices. Good variety on the menu. Salad bar is included, although by 8 pm there was no lettuce... plus
Asked for 3 pasta dishes and they were all spicy, even if we expresselly asked for non spicy, specially for the kid.
My lasagna had very small (almost unperceived) pieces of meat. Could not stop driking water because of hot tomato sauce.
Price: 80 dollars for 3 dishes + 2 beers. VERY expensive compared to quality.
Service: good.

We thought we would find a range of food options in the old Market building but were sadly disappointed there - too many twee gifty shops and missing a trick in terms of good family refreshment. We went straight into virtually the next restaurant open along the road - which was the Spaghetti Factory. For a family with pasta-loving kids,... plus
My husband had the special ravioli. 6 ravioli that were tasty but appeared more of an appetizer. Poor value for $16 and he left hungry. Salad bar was a nice touch but bland. My chicken parmesan sauce tasted like tomato paste. We were not asked by the server how we enjoyed our meal so there was no opportunity to discuss... plus
We were looking for a good, well priced lunch in the heart of Old Montreal and came upon this little gem. Very basic, unpretentious Italian food - good service and good price - will probably go back there the next time we are in beautiful Old Montreal. I had the beef ravioli which was a smallish plate but perfect for... plus
We dined here on a Tuesday evening and were happy we stopped in. Our server was very efficient and kindly offered us a child's portion for the pasta. I had the salmon with pasta in a pesto sauce and it was very good, more pasta that you can eat and about 3.5 - r oz of salmon. My daughter had... plus
ran into this place while walking in old montreal on july 4, 2013
early dinner at 5:00
bread on the table and good size salad bar included with dinner
reasonable price entrees of mainly pasta, which were very good
shared a half carafe of wine
very reasonably priced and a satisfying meal
This is a great little restaurant in the Old Port area. We ended up eating there twice when a blackout shutdown the Metro leaving us stranded in the Old Port. Both meals were excellent, but the spicy meat sauce is definitely the star of the show. The meals are very reasonably priced and include a full salad bar. The decor... plus
It is a very pretty setting. The service was good, but, the server, unkempt. The salad bar is basically lettuce. The pasta was ok.
Definitely worth eating at. We accidentally walked into this restaurant after thinking it was an outdoor one next door we were going in to. When we walked in we were surprised not to see an outdoor venue but we decided to stay because of the lovely decor the restaurant had.
When we sat down we were served water almost immediately...

L'usine's quaint old building is cool and interesting, comfortable but with a cramped feeling at the same time. The bar is fairly limited, with a few decent beer and wine choices, and the salad bar is good... But I wasn't all that impressed with the "Italian" food, particularly the tomato sauce. Also, our server was distracted and a little too... plus
I was looking for an authentic (non-tourist trap) restaurant with a European feel. I found it! L'usine de Spaghetti Parisienne was just what our family needed. The location was perfect, right there at Place Jacques-Cartier on Rue Saint Paul. The staff was very courteous and attentive. Our waitress helped us greatly with our wine and food selections. The atmosphere was... plus
A very unpretentious and reasonably priced late meal with friendly service. Dishes were well prepared, my meat lasagna was delicious, my wife's pasta dish was prepared exactly as described and to taste...nice to see when "mixed vegetables" actually means a variety of real vegetables beyond just onions and peppers. Some great wines by the glass. This is a recommend -... plus
After hours of walking all around Montreal I needed proper sustenance and was dreaming of good spaghetti bolognese.
This restaurant is located in the heart of the old Montreal close to the harbour. Inside is beautiful, the staff is welcoming and helpful, the plates are generous without being excessive, the food is de-le-cious and all of this for just the...

We had a great dinner at L'usine de Spaghetti Parisienne (The Spaghetti Factory). The restaurant is in Old City. The venue is a beautiful old building with stone walls and planked floors.
We had four different pasta dishes that included veal, lamb, salmon, thin beef. Everyone loved their dinner. They had excellent choices in the menu and specials.

Nice place in the heart of Old Montreal, food is delicious, and price is good. Service is very good, too. Desserts are highly recommended for everyone.
We really loved this restaurant. Great food & a really good wine list. The atmosphere was great and service excellent. All you could ask for from a restaurant.
Wonderful food with great service for a good price.A must visit!!! Large portions for a fair price. My mother never finishes her meals but at this restaurant, she cleaned her plate. Our first time in Montreal and it was one of the highlights of the trip.
We had a great lunch experience at L'Usine de Spaghetti today, February 18. We ordered the #6, Les Eclusiers which is broiled jumbo shrimps with penne in a spicy tomato sauce and we also tried the #11, Les 100 Clochers, a braised lamb shank in red wine served with fettuccine buttered with fresh herbs, mainly tarragon. Both delicious. We will... plus
Very friendly restaurant, good food, reasonable price. Located in old Montreal. Soup and salad included in price. Even Charles Dickens apparently ate there?
I visited this restaurant on a Friday night. A friend and I wanted to eat in this area, and we were VERY surprised to find on a Friday evening (5:30ish?) that the majority of restaurants in this area were already closed for the evening! While we were disappointed by this, this restaurant made up for it. Nice atmosphere and staff.... plus
Been there 3 times (July, August and Sept 212). Loved it. Great atmosphere, very helpful waitresses, friendly. Food is gorgeous for this price (you start at 12$ and the most expensive dish is $25 if I remember correctly). Plus, this price includes salad bar (not a wide variety honestly, but still nice, I love their potato salad) and wonderful garlic... plus
We were looking for a not too expensive ilatian restaurant in the Old Port area and found this place. We were very lucky !

We found this cosy restaurant by accident, and decided to give it a try. We both took a simple spaghetti. The taste wasn't bad at all, but you can't call it Italian spaghetti. Within the price a salad bar is included, a nice extra. Atmosphere, but they could change the music (eg Italian music).
Been here twice - once with my family husband and parents and again in October with just my husband. Amazon both times. Great food - good wine I love the sangria. Service is fast ad waitresses very helpful. Very reasonably priced. Great atmosphere with exposed brick ect. Loved it will def be bac next time we are in Montreal.
Food is at least half the price of those in the area. Good choice, especially of wine. Had a $14 entree which included rolls, loads of garlic butter and all-you-can-eat varied salad bar.
Honestly I was here 2 years ago and thought it was fantastic. The pasta seems homemade and service was good. This time I found that the sauces were fairly ordinary and the service was average. It's in a touristy area on Rue St. Paul in the old town which is convenient but there are other choices.
The place is small clean and has great food. There are special addition items added to the menu which is great if you are a regular visitor. The salad bar items are extremely good and leave you almost full before your meal arrives. Overall a great place to go for an inexpensive meal
This comes highly rated here on TA and on some paper guides. We found it to be rather expensive, at least by European standard, especially in view of the disappointing quality of the pasta they serve. Maybe it's because we are Italian and we have some very high standards for pasta, but we would not recommend it at all
If you have a hankering for some good Italian food at a good value, this is a great place! I had the le red light which was steak and spaghetti. With the red wine from Quebec region, it all hit the spot! Meal was $22 and well worth it. Come with salad that has many choices as well as bread... plus
Our dinners were perfectly prepared and so delicious. Our waitress was sweet and very efficient and kind enough to speak English to us. Would definitely go again!
Spent a lovely day in Old Port for Canada Day and decided to try this restaurant with family and friends. We were all very satisfied with our experience, loved the food!

Usually my gf and I take the time to review restaurants and choose from there. However we decided to just choose a place at random, which ended us up here. Charles Dickens est supposé avoir écrit "Le Conte de deux cités" dans ce bâtiment.
The salad bar is very good. The service is friendly and competent, too. One dish we ordered was good, and one was somewhat bland. Maybe stick with tomato-based sauces.
I thought this was a good meal in this very touristy neighborhood. I ordered the special - a baked rigatoni with meat sauce that was quite good. The salad bar was decent and included with every meal as well as bread and garlicky butter. Good service, and overall a reasonable price in a pricey neighborhood. A quaint old building. This... plus
I feel I am wasting words to even mention this place. My only reasoning is that it may stop others from visiting. Here in one of the art neighborhoods of old Montreal we "stumbled upon" a very attractive place.
The wine was fine (house white), the food and service excellent . Even the open salad bar was de cent, with good dressings made in the kitchen not shaken from a bottle.

Very nice ambiance and the service was good but the food was just OK. We had two different selections and both were large portions however the sauces were both too pastee and sugar sweet. The salad bar was small but nice. The bread fresh but cold. Just an OK place to try.
Loved this restaurant. Prices quite reasonable compared to a lot of other over-priced restaurants in the area. Loved the salad bar - nice selections. Also even though the restaurant is small & often crowded, we didn`t find it too noisy which is a nice change. Service was also quick & pleasant.
We visited this Italian restaurant on recommendation from our hotel because the place highly recommended was closed. I love the ambiance of this place. Beautiful old building with a lot of charm.
