This was the first Loblaws that I have been to, and it was pretty nice. Huge area in the front for your deli and bakery needs, although the rest of the store is not as upscale as the front area (private label brands). It is located next to the highway, and there is plenty of parking, so not a bad place to shop for your basics but still get some nice produce and baked goods.
As of recently this has become my go-to grocery store.
They have a decently sized parking lot, a large selection of foods, and (as owner of the brand) sell president's choice products.
They have a decently sized produce section, large selection of prepared foods, a decent selection of cheeses beyond what you'd usually find at a chain grocery store, and a wide selection of other products you'd...

This store is like a big, shiny apple. Looks great on the outside, but dig a bit deeper and its got a lot of problems. Yesterday, I bought their "daily special" of hot dog buns for $1. When I got home, I discovered the cashier had rung them in at $3.29. Concerned I had overpaid by an astounding 229 %, I returned the buns today - only to discover they were already growing mold! In other news,... more
I had to take a star away from this store. It seems to get worse every time I shop there. Today's experiences left me thinking it was aspiring to be the Independent on Bank St. (aka "Ottawa's Worst Grocery Store"). Not only was I met with empty shelves on sale items, potato chips were supposed to be on sale for $1.67 as indicated both in the flyer and on the shelf. They rang in at $3.49. Since... more
This has got to be the most overpriced Loblaws/Supermarket in all of Ottawa.
The meat there is twice the price as the Independent on Bank and Somerset.
They're charging $1 for 1 lime at the moment.
It's cheaper to buy dish soap at Shopper's Drugmart than this place
After the renovations, they got rid of the fresh seafood section.
And this Loblaws, unlike all the other Loblawses and Independents...

Woohoo! Renovations are finally finished on this once ancient Loblaws and it's looking pretty fancy-pants.
Not one to ever do my shopping in this 'hood, I came here with the family I nanny for and was impressed! A smaller location (which y'all know is something I love in a grocery store), they don't have a Natural Food section, but they do have a ton of organic produce and other products...

I refer to it as "Soviet Loblaws" due to its drab and dated look, poor selection (they were out of salt last time I was there - salt!), and tired staff.
I'm smitten.
This seems like the Loblaws that Galen Weston forgot--it's certainly not a superstore, hey, it's not even really a 'normal' Loblaws. It's a throwback to the days when grocery stores didn't carry bras and barbecues.
But I like it.
Those who frequent this grocer are, well, 'greying.' I went on a Tuesday afternoon at midday and there was almost certainly no one in the store--other...

This grocery is surprisingly good for a small store. Produce is fresh and a good selection in a small space. They seem to know their market and have a small but well stocked section set aside for ethnic foods - the real stuff, not gringo knock-offs.
Best thing is that there is an LCBO and a beer store steps from the front door. I can't think of a single other place in Ottawa where you get both...

You know, this Loblaws is so much better than I expected.
I don't come here too often, as it's a bit out of the way for me, but it's conveniently located right beside the Beer Store and LCBO, so hey, I can't complain.
It's not a very large store, though parking can get crowded. The building is old, but they carry your basic grocery needs. What I like is that even though they have the same...

I find this grocery store to be not the greatest option for people living downtown. As a former resident of the Glebe I usually used the Glebe Bank Street Loeb and living in Centretown now I find myself at Hartman's even though this store is actually closer.
This Loblaws is an older store that is actually not that large. The selection here compared to Hartman's is much less and the produce...

I came on this site to look at your flyer for this week but can't find it quickly. The one for Loeb was immediately apparent on their site.
This is the worst Loblaws in Ottawa tiny, tiny, tiny! Minimal selection, busy, crowded, hard-to-navigate aisles.
Loblaws Supermarkets Limited offers these services: grocery store.
