I've come to expect more from boutique hotels, especially ones as expensive as L'Hermitage. You pay a premium for location I suppose, but the room I had was small, cramped and unimpressive. The staff was nice and accommodating, but I will not be staying again as I know I can spend the same amount and have the extra little things that make a hotel stay outstanding.

The location is great. You will not find parking on the street so we valet our car with in and out privileges 24/7. The staff was very courteous and would greet you every time you walked by the lobby.

The hotel is perfectly located within walking distance of all the major places. The rooms are large, clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff is amazingly courteous and they go out of their way to help and assist all guests.

Booked nearly last minute and very glad we did. Excellent service from valet, to room and front desk. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. My room was nice and large, with a small fireplace for ambiance. It overlooked the construction across the street but I couldn't hear anything through the double paned windows. Great location - in walking distance to Gas Town. Very nice staff. Room was beautiful and spacious. We did see the construction outside but couldn't hear from in the hotel.

Good service, nice rooms. Didn't try the breakfast but the pool and jacuzzi were a plus. Construction noise across the street at the moment, but that will be temporary.

It is right in the middle of downtown, walking distance from Skytrain, right near many bus routes. Great for connecting to places, but I imagine you'd want a hotel closer to the water for impressive vistas.

While certainly high ratings for their quality of furnishings, bedding & lobby decor, one can forget about using their public washrooms, it's all secured. Meaning you have to be either a resident or guest here ;( Feels like you're walking on egg shells here.

Not much of a typical hotel place where you can pull over to checkin/out with a nice roof to protect oneself.

-It's not in the most ideal area. There are many hotels that are closer to better shops and restaurants.

-The staff is extremely helpful and courteous.

L'Hermitage Hotel is located on Richards Street close to the more touristy area within the downtown Vancouver. Although a safe street generally, I would say you notice quite quickly when the extremely touristy area changes as you approach the hotel. Great rooms, great service, great location. My friend and I loved our three day stay at this wonderful hotel. The room was spotless clean, comfortable, and quiet. Loved the Nespresso coffee machine right in the room. Staff are friendly and always very helpful. Everything is within walking distance. Most importantly - its very affordable. Would book again or recommend to a friend in a heartbeat.

We stayed here the weekend before Christmas and it was wonderful! Great location, nice rooms (the beds were so comfortable!) and the staff were so friendly and helpful. The gym is also very well appointed with good equipment. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in Vancouver.

It's an awesome hotel with great location and service

Best hotel I've ever stayed! Loved everything about it. The library, breakfast area, pool, and of course, the room. It has a pleasant smell through out the entire place which makes you feel you're at home. Oh, and the hotel dog is so cute and cool.

The location is great. Walking distance to Yale town and subway station. It's really a gem tucked in a very busy area.

This hotel was wonderful. Great location. Great room. Wonderful service in the hotel restaurant. Breakfast buffett was included in our package. Waitresses at breakfast were phemononal. Food was really good too.

Would stay there again and again. Everything is within walking distance. Vancouver on a sunny day is terrific.

I have to say, what a treat. We stopped here on our way back from Whistler, and were relieved. Other than the shady areas just north east, what a fantastic hotel. This hotel is amazing! Thankfully, it is centrally located to shops, public transit and great food. We were definitely a little lost as to what to do and where to go, but the concierge was extremely nice and above and beyond helpful! The lobby smells amazing and the rooms were clean and elegantly designed.

I would love to live here if I could! The service here is remarkable and the staff are just amazingly friendly.

The first few days our AC unit wasn't working properly and at the third day we got moved to another room. Management and the staff was so apologetic about it. We got the one bedroom suite and it was pretty spacious and having a kitchen equipped with EVERYTHING possible was great!... more

This might be the best hotel I've ever stayed in, and the price is RIGHT. The location was perfect, situated right off of Robson Street, walkable to almost everything downtown Vancouver has to offer and a quick cab ride anywhere else (less than $10).
