My entire family (and a guest) ventured over to Gatineau to visit BDT from Ottawa. I ordered the clock/flight, which featured 3 ounces of 12 of their different beers on tap. These are predetermined, which is also true of "the watch" which has 4 or 5 beers (no one ordered that). Most of the beers were ok, but none seemed truly outstanding. I rated them all on Untapped, but didn't think I knew... plus

The interior decor does not live up to the promise of the outside. The wait staff were pleasant helpful, though it was notgreatthat our appetisers and mains arrived at the same time. The beer range is interesting. As you would expect there were highs snd lows. Generally this brewer is happiest with IPAs and flavourful Belgian style beers.

I visit Gatineau on business routinely, and this is a stop at least once per visit. An old character building converted to a brewpub. This is not a sports bar, not a place to get good wifi. It is a brewpub that does a reasonable number of things really well and satisfies its customers.
The food is exceptional, freshly made and inventive. The house fries are the best around. Whatever you want... plus

Service was fantastic. I tried their sampler which includes 12 of their regular beers. All of them were done very well. The Imperial Dark IPA, Doppleweizenbock, and Tripel were particularly great. We ordered nachos which were really good. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who loves beer, even if you need to travel a bit, its worth it.

Three of us came here for supper, We had the fried chicken on waffles, duck leg, and tuna steak. The food was fantastic: everyone cleaned their plate. The 12 beer sampler isn't for everyone, as it is heavily skewed to darker and/or higher alcohol brews, but they were al tasty. Can't wait to o back and try some different dishes.

These guys have the best beer in our area; fantastic regular brews, like Carpe Diem, and always coming up with cool new flavours and recipes. They are teaming up with Boreal to help increase their distribution, and we are so glad to be able to buy their beer in bottles right in our local grocery store in Wakefield.

Amazing patio in the summer: it's large, and the BDT's facade is an 1800's stone building, so it feels like a step back in time.

There is a wide selection of beer - naturally - and the selections are generally well made across the board. The fries were good here, but I've never had anything but that or poutine the three times I've been here.

Arrived on a rainy day so wasn't able to take advantage of the large outdoor patio. But instead I got to sit near the glass and look down into the basement where they brew the beer! It was like staged entertainment watching the guy move the hops around the kettles.

Very bad experience

I went there for a lunch with co-workers and ordered a natchos plate. they served it on a waxed paper with red and white sqare which the red ink of the paper disolved itself in the cooked cheese. I have asked my server if this was normal and she said yes... I asked to see the manager but he did... plus

I love this brasserie. The food is local with some wild meats, fish, beef, burgers. Great choice. Of course, I go for their micro brewery. Beers are excellent and they sometimes have live music. Well worth a visit.

Great food for late night

We have gone to this pub a few times with friends for late night snacks. It's lively & fun! Occasionally noisy, but not to the point of not being able to converse. The food, ambiance and beer are always great! Interesting museum on beer within the restaurant which I enjoyed viewing.

We went here recently for a work Christmas dinner. The food was fantastic and our server was very good with my dietary restrictions (no gluten). We regularly visit this brew-pub for lunch and it never disappoints. The meals are delicious and intriguing (spicy chicken poutine?) and well presented. This place offers both outside seating in nice terasse and inside seating in a superb area decorated with beer production memorabilia and full view to the beer tanks. The menu offers a good variety of food that comes in tasty and good portions. And of course, plenty if beers, including micro brews.

We really enjoyed our lunch -- the place was super busy, but they got us a table for 5 very quickly. Great atmosphere. Nice little museum on site. Parking is an issue.

Best Brewery Pub EVER

The location is perfect as it's close to downtown. Inside of the building is very nice. Atmoshpere is excellent, food is okay and beer brewed on location is excellent and lots of choice. Parking is hard as only city parking is available. Food was okay, I've seen better, I've seen worst. Service was okay.

Verry Good Place to go with friends. The food is really good, the beers are amazing, and always changing. It's not repetitive. Little advice : Go there at night, to have a beer (Bouillon de la chaudière, My favorite) And take a French Fries Cone to go with it!

Great place for beer lovers

This microbrewery has their own beer recipies. Their beers are very nice. The food was ok, I don't remember being overly impressed by it. The location is good and located on an historic site next to a canal. The patio offers a wonderful alternative to a summer drink.

The BDT is absolutely lovely. It is more than your "run of the mill" pub that can be found everywhere in the National Capital Region. Les Brasseurs is a microbrewery with a history and a little "je ne sais quoi".

The restoration of the building is fantastic. It has one of the nicest terraces in the Ottawa region. It's also the best microbrewery in the Ottawa region as well (although the competition isn't steep - it's much better than the Clocktower). Their Belgian-style beers are particularly good.

Had lunch here with brewer Larry Kress. A large and beautiful brewpub along quaint creek. Modern facilities and are impressive. Beautiful brewpub located in an old hydro-electricity plant with great view on the river. This place is huge with an area where you can easily view the brewing area, a large bar area and a super big patio with a great view. This microbrewery is located in the old Hull waterworks building (which means it has a great patio right by the water) and I think this is really just the cherry on top of what is already delicious food and great beer.

This brewpub is a unique and large place, just outside of downtown Ottawa. For the summertime, it is a must stop as there are many tables, room for more than 100 outside. Inside is a bit smaller in relationship, and I am told can get very crowded and not overly sociable to other groups at other tables. Brand new microbrewery in Gatineau, opened 21-MAY-2009. We visited on the 25th, after an apparently very busy weekend.
