“Great location and service

We enjoyed our three days in this hotel. With a south facing room we could open the window and let the lovely April sunshine stream in. It was roomy enough that we could entertain 5 with wine from the SAQ (liquor store) around the corner. Staff were most helpful.

Nice place, great location, would recommend again. I did not stary there myself but booked it for friends who wanted to stay in that area. The only problem is that they got a room that smelled of smoke. Otherwise 5 stars for the money.

Hotel in good Location

Beautiful hotel in great area but acoustics are pretty horrible between rooms and floors. The restaurant on the main floor turns into a club with loud music, and one person from my party had a room above it and could not have survived without ear plugs. So bring some! But otherwise clean and beautiful.

Very nice hote located within the old district of Montreal. Hotel room is amazing and restaurant delightfull.

Very cool/funny/proffesional staff.The thing that p@!%!d me off was the bedroom. Toilet isn't being cleaned properly (it smells really bad). We just checked into this hotel, and it's beautiful!  The front desk staff were so nice and friendly.  We're staying in an Executive Suite, so we expect niceness, but it's more than expected.  When we entered our room, our fireplace was already turned on for us - so was the music.  I'm going to enjoy staying here so much---I'm so spoiled!!!

Great location!!!

The Junior Suite which was our choice of room it was very comfortable and very clean. The only down side was the room had no refrigerator...Walking distance to nice shops, stores, restaurants and night life. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly definitely planning to visit Montreal again..

Spent a night here last week in a Junior Sweet and was blown away. Gorgeous room, free standing tub, and king size bed.Located in picturesque old Montreal and close to shopping, bars and business district.Will stay here again.Tip: We got a great deal on a junior suite from Expedia.

great weekend getaway

good location in Old Montreal, near many of the sites. Subway conveniantly located around the corner. Breakfast was ok, not great. staff was very helpful and polite.air conditioning noisy, but kept room cool.

Excellent hotel in an excellent position

This is a fantastic hotel in an excellent location both for the conference centre and the and the best places for evening dining and relaxation. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Food was also good, breakfasts were relaxed and lunch on the rooftop terrace in the sun was just wonderful. I would definately aim to stay there again when I visit Montreal.

Fabulous location and atmosphere!

Adorable, historic building with modern upgrades and an old-time feel. The staff were welcoming and responsive; the room the was immaculate! the music was playing upon my arrival and i had a wonderful view. i attended a conference at the convention center so it was the ideal location. Came across this hotel when looking to go to Montreal for a weekend getaway. The hotel is beautiful and could almost be mistaken for an older apartment building from the outside. Ggood stay in a good hotel

Service was impeccable. Room was great but cold. We were on the 2nd floor and the heating system did not seem to be able to cope. It is an old building so this is understandable. The room was a bit noisy due to the street down below but nothing out of the ordinary given the location of the hotel. Would definitely go back and recommend to friends.

Almost Ideal...

I was quite happy with the accomodations. The combination of old and new was very chic and the hotel smelled so good! The bartender from France was delightful and gracious. Aix restaurant was superb using local ingredients. Gym was very adequate; spa was nice but make sure to get a room with heat controls if you get a massage. Front desk staff could have been more attentive during checkout.

Very lovely hotel and room. High windows, tastefully furnished, wonderful bathroom. Breakfast buffet however left a lot to be desired and didn't go with the good taste of the hotel!

Excellent location

The location couldn't be beat. The staff were very friendly and courteous. The only problem was that there was an empty used shampoo bottle under the bed and the sink was BADLY cracked - which meant that it harbored germs. So I have to give it a 'thumbs down' on cleanliness.

Disapponted

Rain shower head, clogged. Only half was working, thus instead of a light spring rain, it was a gutter downpour. The pea-green room and bath tiles may be uptown for some color-blind business men from out of town. Disappointing for the price. The only thing that drown out the street noise was the rattle from the air-conditioner.

The room we stayed was fantastic. Everyone gave us high quality customer service. Sometime their house keeping staff did not respond to our request promptly but they were all nice and polite.

Great Location, Don't stay above the bar

Excellent location. Cool modern rooms in a historic building. Fun rooftop bar. Tasty chocolate croissants during breakfast. Nice wine and cheese happy hour. the 701 bar is a cool space for a drink... but don't stay in rooms above the bar unless you like disco thumping music until 1:30am. And don't stay on the 8th floor by the elevators to the roof top bar.... there will be noisy guests there.

This hotel is perfect for the traveler who loves old world charm, but in a very contemporary way. They have perfectly blended the upscale style of modern contemporary design but in the backdrop of a 18th century city. The hotel was honestly the highlight of our trip.

My room didn't have floor to ceiling windows. Or a standalone bathtub....But I'm not complaining. It was a very elegant hotel. Charming and quaint. Staff were very friendly. Only problem was my key card didn't work very well in the elevator (got stuck several times) or on the door to my room.

The Place d'Armes was a wonderful boutique hotel in Vieux Montreal. Incredibly accessible to the piers and many historic sites, including Notre Dame Basilica, City Hall and the fantastic Pointe-a-Calliere Museum.
