Staying up the street & looking for a close place for dinner- so glad we found this place. Don't be alarmed by the lack of people in the restaurant on a nice night- they are all on the lovely garden/patio in back.
Raphael, our waiter, was a gem. Our French is only basic and he was great at translating the menu and explaining items to us. He never rushed us but also didn't make us feel like he...

Excellent French food, great service, cozy bistro atmosphere. This was my first French meal in Montreal and I enjoyed it so much. I had the filet mignon with brie that came with fries and salad, and everything was delicious. I definitely would love to return again if I visit Montreal again. Love their garden with outdoor seating in the Quartier Latin neighborhood as well.
First impressions are everything and as the first restaurant I tried in Montreal, I am impressed.
The service was fantastic and the food was delicious. I enjoyed the bison steak which came with a good portion of fries and greens.
The chef was very accommodating as my friend is a vegan and the menu is very limited in terms of vegan options. A special meal was put together for him in which he...

This terrace has to be one of Montreal's best kept secrets. The terrace is very relaxing and has plenty of shade. Great place for a pitcher of sangria. The staff are super friendly and helpful. There is a large selection of items on the menu and out of the several tried by myself and friends, none of us had any... plus
We went here our last night because the Jadin D'Antoine where we were staying had a special deal with this restaurant and my wife wanted to try a French restaurant. The hostess/owner was very kind with my poor French (though she spoke perfect English). Drinks were fine, my steak was good. My wife ordered salmon, which she sent back because... plus
We really enjoy this restaurant. It is our goto spot for lunch and a beer right after we get off the plane. The service is excellent, quickly helping us with the French menu and getting us a beer. The atmosphere is great with a multi-level outdoor seating that unless you walk in the restaurant you would not know it was... plus
We booked the upstairs patio for a conference reception and were not disappointed. As part of our price we received a drink ticket as well as trays of hors d'oeuvres. Although I cannot remember the cost per person to the organization I do recall that it was quite reasonable.
We were outside as were other customers, but the layout was...

Great food, great ambiance! Nothing to fancy with European flair. I ordered "moules frites" and portions were substantial. Great spot near St-Denis street.
French bistro just off rue St-Denis on Ontario Street in Montreal's 'Latin Quarter'. Resto enjoyrs recently renovated interior with wonderful bistro fare at excellent prices. ! Located close to Université du Quebec, and the Grande Bibliotheque this bistro is great all year round and sparkles in warmer temperatures with a lovely patio. Features daily plats du jour, including soup/salad and... plus
From the outside the place looks very ordinary, but as soon as you step in, you're in another world. The dimmed lighting and 'colonial' style decor successfully create a cosy ambiance without being old fashioned. We were free to choose our own table which I appreciated a lot. As for the food, I had the bavette de boeuf bordelaise while my companion had the filet mignon with brie, with rillette... plus
Excellent, cozy, unpretentious french restaurant conveniently located in the Latin Quarter. Friendly staff who spoke English as well. We had the bison burger, which was excellent, and the vegetable gratin, which was even more so. Portions were large, which I'm finding standard in Montreal. Wine was good as well. My one complaint was that it took us some time to get the bill, but the staff were... plus
Food: This is a French restaurant with excellent food. I had their filet mignon with gambas and a glass of Syrah. However they brought out the steak with brie instead. It was somewhat a fortunate mistake because I love brie and it went very well with the steak. They were apologetic about the mistake and brought out the gambas later. The steak was delicious. The meal came with a nice salad and... plus
my wife and I went here for dinner and found the food and service good. Seemed like mostly locals rather than tourists were there. Staff was friendly. Food was good. Didn't feel rushed.
If the weather is good and you want a quiet patio for lunch or dinner this place is for you. The patio is at the back of the restaurant, away from Ontario Street which can get quite busy. The food is good, the service is fast and friendly. We had lunch out there enjoying the peace and quiet. We have... plus
A nice French bistro--a bit old-fashioned, with limited menu choices, but good quality. We had dinner, one of us had mussels, the other bavette with champignons. Substantial portions, well cooked, both dishes included salads that were quite good, with plenty of greens, tasty tomatoes, and good dressing. French fries included as well. Service very pleasant, English spoken.
Great atmosphere with outdoor seating. Very nice to sit in the sun after our plane ride to Montreal. I enjoyed my sandwich and the selection of beer. We will definitely return.
Two of us dined at 8:30 PM mid-week. We sat on the back patio which is charming and quiet.
Staff was pleasant and helpful in accommodating our request for English menu and descriptions.
First disappointment was the wine. One of our glasses was vinegary as if not freshly opened. When we asked for a different selection we were told that...

Even after 30 + yrs., this restaurant remains one of my favorite in the summer. The terrace located in the back is very pleasant and quiet for that busy area of the city. The food quality is steady and the prices are reasonable.
I was checking out Montreal on my own and this place got good reviews on yelp. The servers couldn't have been sweeter and the outdoor area in the back was very quaint. They even gave me some advice on tipping in Quebec. Unfortunately the food was just good. They did have an English version of the menu, but it didn't match up to the French menu. I went with the Duck confit salad. It was good,... plus
I came here for lunch on a sunny day. The staff were very friendly, the back terrace is beautiful and the food (Mediterranean salad with grilled beef, gazpacho to start) was delicious. I would definitely eat here again!
A colleague brought us to this nice establishment. The decor is very cozy and you will enjoy the atmosphere. The food is nice as well. The filet mignon with brie is an excellent choice for dinner. A must have is the blueberry creme brulee. You can't go wrong with these choices for dinner.
It was our second visit to this pub/restaurant in the "Cartier des spectacles" in Montréal. We're attracted by the good food at reasonable prices. You can expect to pay around CAD$60 for a complete diner for 2 (with appetizer but w/o wine).
The ambience is Ok and the "patio" is surely very nice in summer but the decor could be...

We went for supper on a weeknight. The menu was interesting, and the food good. The wine list was uninspired, though varied.
The back patio was delightful in good weather.
Though the wait staff was friendly, they were not knowledgeable about their wines. Worse, they were overwhelmed even though the restaurant was half empty. We waited an enormous length of...

We were hesitant to enter this empty restaurant, but were thrilled to find that many patrons were enjoying dinner in the private courtyard hidden behind this restaurant. The food was tasty and the service was excellent.
Probably one of the coziest brasseries I've visited in quite a while.
A friend and I came here last night for a last minute dinner before heading out to a concert. Sunday night in Montreal generally is NOT a good night for going out to dinner, many establishments are either closed or shut down very early.
That said, we stepped in here and were instantly charmed by the decor and ambiance,...

Good french bistro. Friendly service. Food is tasty, nothing fancy, but very homey!
Lot's of French tourists, because well rated in "Le Routard" guide.
Wine list very short. Well spotted in Quartier Latin.
Great atmosphere; good food. Daily specials are not expensive and are always delicious.
Popular place with the locals on a busy street in the latin quarter. Atmosphere = great Food = very good Value = good
Service = very good. We were told by our B & B that this was one of their favorite places and we can see why.
It used to be a café where old hippies used to go. Today, it's more of a French restaurant (with an international touch). The food is fine (not the best you could find in Montreal, but they have their good days). The reason why I go is because of their wonderful patio at the back. They really built a nice and cosy space, away from the noise of the Ontario street.
