Nice hardwood floors in the rooms. Comfortable white sheets on the cozy bed. Glassware in the room, yay. Very kind front desk staff, but check-in time was very long for everyone. Would recommend. Many terrace/patio restaurants nearby. Only 20-30min walk to port and old part of town. Again, staff were all fantastic!
It's a nice place and close to everything. The rooms are big and spacious . There is a Starbucks across the street. The Joan of Arc Park is behind it. It has complementary coffee and a small refrigerator in the room. I love that you have a heated floor in the bathroom, and you can put jets on in bathtub. It's like your own jacuzzi. They offer a pool an jacuzzi but it's at another hotel on the... plus
This is probably the worst hotel around this area..starting with unfriendly staff..no free breakfast that they offered .told to be quiet in lobby because they stuck a room right next to the coffee machine..no available drinking water vending machine out of order Air conditioning unit in bedroom broke need a step ladder to get into bathtub..im over this place..
Welcome to rom 1011. Ok, before I review this room I'll say all the good stuff. The hotel is in a great place surrounded by a number of restaurants and a Starbucks nearby. The breakfast was okay but check out the Kuerig machine which was amazing. The morning clerk was awesome as well and helped change my room.
Room 1011 is located on the bottom floor adjacent to the entrance facing the Main...

This hotel is located in a great area within walking distance to all of the tourist sights and restaurants. There is free parking to be had, so save yourself the valet parking, especially if you haven't much luggage.
However, be forewarned if you do have any heavy luggage, the are no elevators and the drsk clerk was far from gracious about offering to take our luggage up. In fact all the staff...

We booked one of the suite with the jacuzzi and it was really nice. The hotel was quiet and the people at the front desk we helpful and nice. The room was clean, confortable bed and we had the view on the Grande-Allée Street. I would have given 4 stars.
The 3 stars are because the DVD player was showing black & white image only. If you would turn on the TV and watch the channels, the TV was in...

After spending a full week researching hotels in Quebec for a 4-night stay, I selected Le Grande-Allée (booked via Hotels.com) because it had the best price-to-location-to-amenities ratio. Hands down, one of the best decisions I made on this trip.
Pros:
-Very spacious room. I stayed here with just my sister, but the adjoining living room with a pullout couch could have easily accommodated for...

I stayed here for 4 nights and shared the Superior/Deluxe room with 1 queen bed with my sister. We got a room that faced the street, so it was nice seeing all the activity of a busy street and popular nightlife spot.
Pros/Notable features:
-Clean! No signs of bugs or nasty stains
-Great location, walking distance to popular tourist attractions (La Citadelle de Quebec, Fairmont Le Chateau...

Super cool little hotel in the middle of the action. Small but neat rooms. I was surprise how quiet the room was despite overlooking the Grande Allee.
This place is cute, fun and centrally located. Parking was a challenge.
My name is Michael Lambert, I am a member of the past two Canadian Olympic teams for snowboarding. I was at this hotel last spring for National Championships. This hotel requires that they hold your key so they can move your car. After leaving my key with the hotel for the night, it had been moved and robbed. The SLR camera, Ipod, multiple sunglasses, all gone. We took action with a lawyer but... plus
Le personnel nous à mal accueilli ,1 avertissement et ils nous renvoient.. On ne faisais que parler a 23h et ils nous ont menacer d'appeler la police.. Bref! Horrible
Me and my husband wanted an affordable getaway for Christmas and from the many choices, we found this very suitable. The breakfast was included in the booking price and it was a lovely American breakfast server by a very cheerful and nice young man! The rooms were clean and beautiful and we just loved the fireplace! We stayed for two... plus
The service was excellent atmosphere fantastic stayed in superior room fireplace lovely
Breakfast was included and delicious staff very friendly near old quebec we stayed 3nights and it was awesome it was during Quebec Carnival so we even got complimentary tastes of The official drink Caribou
Read tons of reviews, trying to find the best place to stay within walking distance to downtown for reasonable price, and we found it! $246 for 2 nights, delicious breakfast served buffet style included, ( very hard working young man at the breakfast, coffee low, he's on it.. Great job!)
Tons of restaurants just a few steps away from front...

We stayed here 2 nights (Fri/Sat) during the summer music festival and the location was great....easy walking distances to the venues, restaurants and sites. We had a 3rd floor room which was difficult to get to since the stairs are very narrow. This is an OLD building and rooms are small but well maintained....although the A/C was not working...which was... plus
We arrived before the 4:00 check-in but were able to put our luggage in safekeeping and have the car parked and go hunting for lunch. We also requested that our rooms be adjoining if possible, for some inexplicable reason we had rooms on two floors. Fortunately they did manage to do this for us and the rooms were quaint with... plus
We stayed here for a week for a Christmas holiday. Our arrival time changed several times because of flight cancellations due to inclement weather and the hotel staff were very accommodating and helpful. All of the staff were friendly, especially the lovely Marie. Since we arrived a day later than originally planned, we decided to stay a day longer and... plus
The hotel was very nice and is in a beautiful area. However, housekeeping didn't come in the three days we stayed there, which was disappointing and garbage management became an issue. There is a Starbucks across the street, which was good - coffee was supplied in the room for the first day but you have to pay for it after... plus
We stayed at the Le Garnde Allee for a week during Christmas this year. The hotel is situated on a really lovely street and was within walking distance to everything we wanted to see. Our family really loved the room and hotel. However if you are looking for a major resort type hotel this would not be your ideal place.... plus
Excellent location within a short walk to the city's citadel and restaurants galore.
A bit of a mix-up regarding the breakfast, however, this was quickly remedied.
We had a deluxe front room which was very large and beautifully renovated. Bathroom and
adjoining "closet" were very large and the high ceilings, fireplace and original mouldings give this hotel its classic feeling.
We loved this hotel. Old world charm and a great location within walking distance to the citadel and parliament buildings. The staff were wonderful and our room was very clean and comfortable. We had a separate bedroom from the sitting area and both felt spacious. We would stay again.
The hotel we originally selected was not available so we chose this hotel based on location and price and were not disappointed. After reading previous reviews we asked for a quiet room and were given one in the back of the hotel overlooking parking, Nothing to see but it was very quiet. I suspect it would be very noisy at... plus
The hotel is very clean and the front service people were absolutely wonderful to deal with, helping us to find city busses, exchanging our large denominations for coins, etc. The hotel is within easy walking distance to all the Old City of Quebec and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again.
My 2 adult daughters and I were on a 'girls holiday' and enjoyed 2 nights at this lovely, charming hotel in the best location. Just a short 5-10 min walk into the old city and situated among a dozen restaurants and cafes right on our block of the street. The hotel is old and charming with an exposed brick wall... plus
We stayed here for one night before joining a biking tour group. Great location on a block full of restaurants and inns just outside the old town of Quebec. We were worried when we got to our room which was at the front of the hotel, since the revelers on the street were pretty loud and I'm a light sleeper.... plus
Beautiful little boutique hotel located right on Grande Allée, one of the best streets in Quebec City. I come here often on business. Rooms are clean and comfortable, staff is attentive and friendly. My advice: please don't book this place, that I'll always have room! Thank you. ;-)
My husband and I stayed for 3 nights in this beautiful hotel. The location could not have been more perfect. We were close enough to walk everywhere we wanted to go. The restaurants were all nearby as were all the shops and history that is Quebec. We rented bikes and rode 3 miles out of the city to go kayaking.... plus
Cant say much negative about this hotel. We were upgraded upon arrival and had a beautiful suite with wood floors and exposed brick. Also cannot beat the location close to the old city. We were able to walk to everything. Lots of bars and restaurants nearby. We could hear the street noise at night but we were not bothered by... plus
We enjoyed our stay at Le Grande Allee with mixed emotions on July 5th and 6th during the Festival d'été de Québec! The Pros are that the hotel is small, clean, breakfast included, amazing... plus
We stayed two nights in this hotel in June 2013. Disclaimer: we had a classic room (meaning a small room), since we asked to be on the courtyard (due to the noise of the main street) and on the ground floor, as we asked to be on the first or second floor (the hotel does not have elevator). Unfortunately, the... plus
I don't know why some of the reviews are so bad, I would really not listen to them though. My boyfriend and I went to quebec city for Canada day last year and I would definitely recommend that time. Le Grande-Allee Hotel was a great place to stay. I arrived at 1pm, and even though check-in wasn't until 4pm, my room was ready. The gentleman at the front desk was very friendly and welcoming. I stayed in the "Signature on Grand Allee" room. It had a huge spa tub, a little espresso machine, a fireplace, a fridge, a microwave,... plus
Clean rooms... a little small (a double bed), clean bathroom. Location was unbeatable, and most hotels in the area are fairly expensive. So this felt like a good bargain. Stayed two nights here, and the breakfast (included) was very good.

Overall we had a good experience at the hotel. The price was right that's for sure! We had the 2 bed bedroom - which was right on the stairs so if it wasn't for the young drunk women partying hard that weekend it would have been perfect. Overall we slept well. The breakfast was a buffet with eggs/bacon/bagels, etc. The... plus
Hotels pretty much look and feel the same, basically. What makes a good hotel is a comfortable bed in a nice room, clean bathroom, and I'd add Internet access and, sometimes, even a little gym. Once you have that, you're... OK.
What makes a GREAT hotel, though, is the quality of its service. It's when you feel hotel staff and...

Stayed here over the holidays and enjoyed it. The price was about the best for being near the old city and it's well located. The rooms are small but clean and nicely appointed. Booked way ahead of me intended travel date and ended up with a room on the first floor facing the front of the building and beside the main lobby area. I've been to Quebec City before many moons ago, but was familiar with Grande Allee. We came here for our honeymoon. The room was really comfortable&spacious. We booked the signature plus room. We figured we'd splurge since it was our honeymoon. Nicely located on the Grand Allee among the restaurants. Eat in this neighborhood, not within the walls or in the old city. Rooms (we had two) were spacious and charming. Just came back from staying at Le Grande-Allee hotel for five nights. Normally I enjoyed the charm of boutique hotels and willing to adjust my expectation accordingly (smaller, no pool, not as much service), although there isn't any major issues, but there are enough of minor issues for this hotel to deserve a 3 stars.
Pro:
Great location. Right on...

Spacious room with old world charm. Huge modern bathroom. Second floor on back of building was ery quiet on a Wed. & Thurs. night in July. A few small issues. Stayed here by myself on business. Great location to explore old Quebec. No problems except that the free wifi was spotty at best.
Only stair access to the second and third floor rooms. I liked the cozy atmosphere, but take note if stair climbing is an issue for you.
Stayed for 2 nights.
Pros: Reception was nice, and hotel is beautiful. Amazing suite, with beautiful furnishings. Decent price. Breakfast included in price and is decent. Access to the hot tub at Hotel Acadia (sister hotel). Great location - food and bars on the same block, 2 blocks away from Plains of Abraham, 5-10 minute stroll to the walls.

I've been there for a weekend 3 years ago. Got a good price on the internet; +/-120$/night. We had a TV, DVD player and we could rent... plus
Nice, clean, small and quaint. If you're looking to get away from all the commercialism at hotesl then this is the place to stay.
We stayed at Le Grande-Allee Hotel and Suites for 2 nights during Winter Carnival and loved the hotel. We booked the standard rooms but were upgraded to beautiful rooms with a fireplace and whirlpool tubs. We usually book the standard rooms planning to spend most of our time outside during the carnival, we loved coming back to the fireplace room... plus
Small but stylishly appointed bedroom (huge bathroom!). Period building, but clean and well-maintained (like most in Quebec). Somewhat dated but perfectly functional amenities (e.g., tv, shower). A very busy street, brimming with night life, but inside was soothing, like a good bottle of red wine. Speaking of wine... make sure you pick up a good bottle at an SAQ before... plus
This hotel is beautiful and the location is perfect for a getaway in Quebec City. La Grande Allée street is outstanding during the winter, especially during the Christmas period.
The hotel staff was very friendly and the rates were acceptable. We appreciated the European feel that the ‘’Le Rivoli’’ restaurant offers because of the age and conservation of the building....

This hotel has OK location. It is behind the quebec city parliament building and surrounding with nice restaurants, but it's outside of the old town, about 10-15 minutes walk from the old town center. We booked our visit to Quebec to see the old city and its history to find ourselves in the middle of a major music festival. Location was great for both!! Hot breakfast (CAN$ 12.50/person) was good value as no local coffee shop. French staff helpful to English speakers
This hotel was beautiful. The rooms are decorated nicely and felt like a home rather than a hotel. The only drawback was a nightclub that is directly across the street. The music started around 4pm and kept going until after 2am. Everything else was excellent.
Stayed here for $89 during a big conference.
Hotel has a PERFECT location on teh Grande-Allee and is right next to Maurice night club.
It is in a historic building, thus it has no elevators. That is the only drawback. The roomos are amazing. I had a suite with a large jacuzzi tub, and it has original brick walls from...

Was great! Location was superbe - 15 minute walk to the centre of old Quebec - all the continental breakfast you could eat (we have 3 teenagers) - valee to worry about your car for you. Two nights at this establishment were more than enough to convince my traveling companion and I that we had made the wrong choice of lodging. Stayed 2 nights at the Chateau Grande Allée. Very satisfied. Polite staff. Breakfast OK. Close to everything in the old Québec. Will go back for sure.
After taxes and parking, this place will run you about $160 a night. It's a dump that looks nothing like the photos on the website, with the single redeemable quality of being pretty centrally located.
The bedding was dingy, the sheets were thin, the towels were tiny and course, there was no closet, and the water went from burning hot to freezing cold throughout every shower I took.

My wife surprised me with a short trip to Quebec City to celebrate my 60th birthday. The hotel was recommended by our travel agent who had stayed there before recent renovations. We recently stayed at this hotel. Nobody tells you about the 8 foot disco ball that hangs outside a very popular bar. The rooms were sufficiently soundproofed but the disco lighting was slightly annoying. The service was efficient and pleasant. The room was spacious and well appointed although the outside traffic was disturbing at time. The continental breakfast was disappointing... plus
The hotel had a beautifully renovated boutique-style room--small, but very, very nicely decorated. The service was great, as well. And the location was wonderful--on a lively street, within easy walking distance from Old Montreal. All in all, a great hotel!
Great location! It is very clean and pleasant. We highly recommend it!
A great place to stay. Hotel staff very nice and knowledgeable. Sometimes the music from the nightclubs could be heard in the room though...Seemed to die down around midnight. Good price especially after checking around. Short walk to everything.
Great location, central, staff very helpful and friendly. Hotel is noisy - especially on a Friday night when the partiers are rolling in at 4am. We went for Winter Carnival, so the location was fantastic. Old hotel which has been renovated in nice taste. Bathroom was FREEZING, not sure the heat worked. Overall, good stay despite the lack of sleep the first night.
