September 18, 2013When I visit North America I enjoy visiting diners to get a flavour of local life. This one was easy to find due to its retro 50 look. We had breakfast at Le Club Sandwich.
Moderately satisfied, the usual breakfast.
What makes Le Club Sandwich is its location: sitting outside and watching people walking is a fantastic way to spend your time at the Gay Village of Montreal.

Save you money
August 13, 2013OK, it IS a diner, but there are some excellent diners out there and this is not one of them. It was pleasant sitting out on the terrace, but the food was over-priced and very greasy. Service was nice enough, but slow and sparse. Not happy that I wasted my money (and one of my few meals out in Montreal)... more

Typical diner, good for late night eats

Expensive and bad food and service
August 11, 2012It's a new administration but still the same place. Service is slow, VERY slow. They are rude. And very expensive for what it is... it's just burger and fries after all... and don't ask for soft drink, you thought Coke was expensive at the cinema??? 3,00 for a little bottle of Coke... it's Montreal guys... not New York!!!!

Good people watching, food not so much
July 09, 2012Great place in the summer time to sit outside and watch the people walk up and down St Catherine's. cheeseburger not so great. french fries were good. Outdoor seating closes promptly at 3am and if you are there you will be asked to move to a table inside or leave even if you are in the middle of a meal.

take a closer look at your bill!
June 18, 2012They may put an additional fee for your salad or fries, even though they put them as included in the menu. And don't ever think about asking them for more water, mayo or ketchup unless you want to spend the whole day there. You should better take them yourself from their counter as they mostly unattended.

Perfect diner food after a night out
April 14, 2012Club Sandwich serves your classic diner food - club sandwiches (obviously), burgers, poutines, hot dogs, etc. I've been there many times, and I've never been disappointed. It's always packed after the dance clubs close, as it's open late. A popular Village eatery.

Greasy spoon favourites, but service is very slow
September 03, 2011Met up with some friends for a late night bite.. typical Quebecois fare: poutine, steak sandwich etc.. and the service was very slow and lacked energy. No sense of urgency to get to the table to take your order, or check up on the food... you get what you pay for.

Poor service - I walked out

Tasty diner food

Inexpensive
July 16, 2010This is perhaps the largest restaurant/bar in The Village. The menu is inexpensive and the food pretty good. It is easy to get away with paying less than $10 for a basic meal. The fries are good and you are served a lot of them.

I used to like this place
April 24, 2010I really did... But the last 3 times I went there they could not even figure my order properly (and I ordered the same thing every time). What is so hard in a Hot Hamburger that they can not figure it out ? Got a hot chicken sandwich, a Michigan burger and, the last time, a hamburger steak !

Mon unique recommendation
May 04, 2009C'est un endroit parfait pour aller avec la gang après avoir fait la fiesta dans les Bar. Je dois dire que le décor est pas mal rechercher et peux émerveiller certain. Mais à par la poutine a 3h30 du matin avec un taux d'alcool élever dans le sang je ne conseil pas se resto sous peine d'être vraiment déçu.

Tout a fait degeulasse, la poutine gaoute pas la poutine, sauce (en poudre) pas assez diluée, fromage goutant le revenez-y (ou pas), frites congelées.... meme que les cuisiniers envoient promener les serveurs en plein devant les clients, pis ca sent encore la charogne meme si ca fait 2 pleintes que je fait aux services d'hygiene de la ville..... more

On a été au resto un jeudi soir pour souper avec une amie. Le service était long. Nos club sandwich sont arrivé pas très chaud. Notre amie n'a pas mangé son club parce que le bacon et le fromage goûtait drôle. Elle avait peur d'être malade. C'était pas le meilleur club sandwich que je mangeais.
