Oui. Oui. Oui.
The name Hunting and Fishing Club doesn't suggest fine dining, but here chasse et pêche more accurately means "new-school surf and turf." The seasonal menu might include chilled sweet pea soup garnished with fried oysters, or a boar chop drizzled with corn purée. Since its 2005 opening, "Chasse" -- as it is known by fashionable insiders -- has become the restaurant of choice for romantic... plus
Feel like you’ve discovered a deep, dark and tasty secret at the “Hunting and Fishing Club.” Hunting—for the braised venison and roast bison. Fishing—for lobster bisque, seared scallops and tuna tartare. Try not to yell “Release the hounds!” as begging-to-be-devoured dishes arrive. Instead lean back in your leather club chair, take a moment to—aw, forget it! Dive in!
Quelle belle surprise!!!
My wife and I found this restaurant on Trip Advisor. We were lucky enough to get a late reservation. We arrived about 10 minutes prior to our reservation, and they seated us. The ambiance was wonderful, and the staff was very friendly. There were so many wonderful things on the menu, that we …
The attentive service made the outstanding dinner experience 100% memorable - creating lots of conversations about returning. Octopus Carpaccio - the slight smokey texture of eggplant tapenade was a perfect complement. Rabbit Ravioli - so good that enjoying 3 portions as appetizer, dinner, and dessert is a tempting proposition.
Not impressed...my reservation at the restaurant was based solely on the strong reviews from my fellow Yelpers. First the good....the service was impeccable, the waiters were very knowledgeable and professional. We had the foie gras for our app which was pretty amazing, but the meal …
Awesome Place,The Food is Crazy Delicious,The staff are Great. The price is a Bit Pricy BUT it worth Every penny. I love this Place i'm Sure Next time i will Be visiting Canada i'll Stop by again
Disarming and unobtrusive service Whimsical, restful, tasteful decor Massive entree portions and small appetizers Vegetarians beware Duck with plums and foie gras... Super rich and good on a bed of quinoa and chopped nuts Scallops appetizer seared to perfection and drizzled with a surprising candied lemon sauce Vegetables with panache was a surprise, four vegetable sides on a plate, great bargain.
Great. One of a kind restaurant where you do not have to co-exist with poor peasants.
Le Club Chasse et Pêche is located in Old Montréal, close to Montreal's City Hall which is a beautiful building itself. Le Club doesn't offer an extensive menu, but the selection is a nice offering of fish, sea-food and meats. We started by sharing the risotto, which was absolutely fantastic, very flavourful. Then, I opted for the Kobe beef and... plus
First of all, the food really was great.. at least my starter (scallops) and dinner (Duck... Awesome), however the wine was really sparse.. and maybe that is Canada, but i dont think it was even 4 cl.

I thought I'd been in some of the best restaurants anywhere- from New York to San Francisco to Barcelona to Cairo....until I ate here this evening. Where do I start? I have had some fabulous meals at some world class restaurants, but this one belongs in the pantheon of the greats. The service was impeccable with deep understanding and knowledge of the menu and the wine list. The food...the food was simply of another world. An unassuming doorway leads you to food divinity. We started with oysters 3 ways which were each delicious. Then an octopus carpaccio and a tuna tartare which were beautifully presented and delicious. Next, a duo of lobster tail and hangar steak accompanied by parsnips, ramps, carrot purée, and a beet and plum salad. Each morsel was perfect. The waiter was... plus
This is not a pretentious old-school restaurant. It's also not a noisy ultra-modern restaurant. Rather, this Old-Montreal restaurant has a low-key, comfortable and relaxed feel. As well, our waiter was very informative and helpful.
The food was exceptional. The stand-out was the piglet risotto. Unexpectedly, it was more piglet than risotto. Absolutely delicious. As was everything else, really....

This is a must in Montreal! The dining experience is exquisite, and the atmosphere is cozy and relaxed. We dined here during a recent trip to Montreal and were absolutely blown away by the service and the food. We went on our anniversary, after a recommendation by a friend who is a chef. You won't find better food. The lighting is dim, walls are stone, seating is fine, and yet there is no ambience. This restaurant is really amazing! If you want to feel like you are fine dining in a non pretentious and down to earth atmosphere, this is the place! The service was great- Gabriel, you were great! Great service, great ambiance, awesome food. Been there few times and I always enjoyed it. Their Chasse & Peche meal (classy Surf&Turf) is delectable, their lobster risotto is creamy and close to perfection, their basil and champaign oysters is one of the best oyster I never had. Good wine selection but also great drinks list. Nothing more to say, just... plus
Lives up to its reputation. Service was great, food was delicious. It is a bit expensive but totally worth it for this kind of food. Ambiance was pleasant, not too noisy. We both loved what we had. The 'cerf' was divine!
Fantastic menu. Not to many items but what they do they do very well. Beef, filet mignon, lobster, foie gras. Wonderful location in old Montreal. Convenient reservations with Open Table.
If you want to try something different, something special, you will not regret it to go to this restaurant. Ambiance is calm, small and not crowded, in old Montreal, the risotto and the Surf&Turf are a must! Price is elevated however (260$ Can for 2 persons, including 2 glass of wine), but still a very good experience.Congratulation for the excellent... plus

My friend and I ate at La Club Chasse et Peche in Montreal last Wednesday night, and while I expected a fine meal from a French restaurant in this city, I was blown away by the quality and presentation of the food, and the friendly and attentive service.

On a no holds barred dining trip to Montreal, this restaurant was tops. Located in the Old City, the food was absolutely delicious, and the ambience and staff were wonderful - not at all stuffy. Not the most expensive restaurant either. Try the ginger martini.
If you can afford it - do it and enjoy every bite! Both service and food are fantastic. A rare find for Old Montreal which is mostly riddled with touritsy spots....

We chose Le Club Chasse et Peche based on other TripAdvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. We started with the "oysters with charisma". Have been to this restaurant several times. Both the food and service are always wonderful, but I tend to come back for the ambiance. Went yesterday for dinner. Everything from the service to the food was excellent! Knowledgable service staff.
As a main meal I had the venison. Highly recommend it.
My boyfriend had the chasse et peche which was a Kobe beef steak and half a lobster. Cooked perfectly
Will definitely be returning!
Absolutely amazing!! As an appetizer, had the braised piglet risotto with foie gras shavings and it just melts in your mouth.
As a main dish, had the Kobe beef and lobster tail and it was scrumptious!
For desert, had the "bomb" which is a chocolate and caramel tart and it was the perfect way to end this delectable meal!
I went to le Club Chasse et Peche last night for dinner. We had a late reservation as that was the only thing available. The restaurant was very busy when we entered, which is usually a good sign. The ambience was very cool, almost too cool, but it worked. The service bordered on snooty, but was attentive and knowledgable. The food was delicious and overall we had a nice evening. You could tell it was a special occasion kind of place.
Fine cuisine and wine together, add wonderful service and atmosphere.
We went to this restaurant to celebrate my father in law's birthday. We were a group of seven and we all got a lot of attention and the appetizers and meals were served quickly. The dessert was unforgettable!
A warm welcome! A gem of a restaurant hidden in an older building. It was a very busy Wednesday night. We seated quickly at 9:00 pm for our 9:00 PM reservation. We went here on the recommendation of a local restaurant owner. The meal was wonderful. The restaurant is hip in an underground setting. A bit pricey but worth every penny.
Came here due to a few recommendations we received, and they said it was a "must" to experience. When you drive up, it's hard to spot since it's an unassuming location. Kinda reminds me of an underground speakeasy.

Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyy too salty. I don't understand why they insist on ruining an otherwise delicious and fresh meal by adding so much salt. On my last visit to Montreal I went here and to Garde Manger (which I just reviewed.)

Never ever been disappointed and have eaten there about 12 times over the last 3 years.
We celebrated my mother-in-law's birthday at this restaurant with a group of 10 people, and it was a wonderful experience. The atmosphere is unique, and cozy, but not too trendy. The sounds levels were good for a group. The food was delicious. I would highly recommend.
After dropping the kids off at college, we made our annual trip (without the kids for the first time!) to Montreal and this place never disappoints. Top notch service, food, atmosphere, everything. This is the 3rd time over the years that we've celebrated our anniversary here and they ensure we have an amazing time!
Food and service at Le Club are amazing. Haven't enjoyed a meal more in a long time in my travels to NYC, Boston, London, Paris, San Fran, Seattle.
This was a fabulous experience - wonderful food, great service, laid back and sophisticated at the same time. We loved every minute of our meal and will return if we're ever in Montreal again.
During my most recent trip to Montreal, my bf and I decided to go to Le Club Chasse et Peche for dinner instead of other good restaurants such as au pied de cochon because we heard the food was great, and nowhere could we find pictures of this place!! Although the menu is quite small, there are several daily features to make this a very special place. We started with the scallops which were unbelievable, citron shavings and a fennel puree. My wife and I had a superb meal at Le Club last night. Went there on the recommendation of a trusted friend. Quite simply sensational from the ambience to the food, from start to last sip of calvados. The staff are knowledgable and friendly and make everything work. The Hamachi tartare is the best I've ever tasted.
Amazing food. Expensive but food quality is as good as it gets. We ordered 4 different dishes and all were very good. Best oysters I've ever had.
One of the best restaurants in Montreal, the food is exquisite but you pay for the quality. The decor is really nice and the service is equally excellent. If you want a really nice night out and can afford the bill, you will not be disappointed.
The place is very nice. The only thing they could work on is the service. But the atmosphere and good food compensated. Me and my friends had a great time.
Went here with a group on business and the server went through every item on the menu with knowledge and confidence which was helpful since the description on the dishes were lacking but cleaver. Very good service, and a pleasant, somewhat noisy room. Perhaps because we came with high expectations, we were disappointed. The food was merely okay, with the exception of the very good scallop appetizer. At half the price, I would have said, "fine," but not at this price.
This is a great find. The setting is wonderful. Warm and inviting. The food was excellent-tender cooked lobster, fresh oysters of the day and perfectly cooked duck and steak. We could not resist the desserts-all making our meal memorable. Excellent wines as well. Enjoy this restaurant and Old Montreal.
I have been to Club Chasse et Pêche many times over the years and year in, year out, visit after visit, large group, small group, I have yet to be or see anyone say it was just Ok. Always at least one dish that is an absolute wow and all others being worst case just great. A cannot miss in Montréal. Very cosy atmosphere with attentive service. Enjoy!!!
Excellent food with very attentive and knowledgeable staff! The ambience suits the name of the restaurant. Some may find it a bit dark, but it is an intimate and relaxed atmosphere for dinner. The menu is creative and the food delicious. Try the pig risotto if you have the chance!
Entering you may find the place a bit dark and claustrophobic but all that will disappear once you are seated and begin your evening. The menu is not big but the flavours are amazing (and hearty) and the service attentive. With a full bar next to the seating area (but the noise does not spill over) you don't even need to let the evening end at desert!
Absolutely amazing in all ways the staff the ambience and wow the food. My girlfriend is a chef ... A good one and we both were blown away. The menu changes often, I imagine every time will produce a spectacular meal will def repeat!!!!!!
I have never left this restaurant without having eaten at least one dish which I will remember for the rest of my life. The service is exemplary. Their main focus and pride is their winelist which features mostly "delicate" wines, with few full bodied reds, and only a few under $100/bottle. When I think of magically memorable meals, I will fondly remember the night at CC&P. We invited two people as a way of thanking them, with a total of 6 of us. We all ordered different things, and everything was lick-the-plate delicious. Our waiter was a kick. whose recommendations were spot on. Loved the decor, the food, the drinks, the wines, the service, everything! We hated to leave!
A fantastic example of a Quebec steak house. They always have a great variety of proteins that range from Kobe beef to duck to pork belly to sea food. There is always something for everyone.
Beautiful restaurant, I sat at the bar for dinner with friends and it was a great experience and awesome food, lovely service.
The scallops in lemon cream sauce were the best we've ever had. Kobe beef and salad were pretty good too. Great lunch option as well as dinner.
This is as good as it gets without having to wear a suit and tie! Food at the level of the world's best, in an athmosphere that can be qualified somewhat casual (typical Montreal). Terrific service, expicially regarding wine selections. The Chasse et Pech
Obscure entrance and hard to find location makes it feel like an exclusive private club. Focus on fish and game (and offal), hearty food served elegantly. Wait staff can be a little snooty. Nice wine pairing suggestions. Interior is dark and cozy.
This came highly recommended from the concierge at our hotel. The decor is really cool but our food was wildly inconsistent. Most of the vegetables were severely undercooked. I didn't like my wine and the waiter insisted it was all right when it was not.

fabulous food . you must reserve a good corner seating . the setting is 18th century.
The food is outstanding! The decor is a mixture between modern and traditional old style montreal... there is always different art pieces displayed on the wall. Service is VERY slow and somewhat unprofessional
Lively ambiance, excellent cuisine. Don't miss the vegetable panache, an assortment of four small side dishes that are brilliantly conceived and irresistible. A winner.

Le Club Chasse et Pêche est le secret le moins bien gardé de Montréal. En effet, depuis son ouverture, ce restaurant est lobjet dun fantastique bouche à oreille.
