The Quality Inn West Harvest is not a cheap hotel it's affordable!
So, this last Friday night we were off to La Boheme. Having read half a dozen reviews, I have noticed most all of them are of one extreme or the other. Based on my experience there, I prefer to consider them a reasonably solid spot (that will do what they can to make their patrons happy), however, notwithstanding what I feel is a need to do a little work on the aesthetics of the dining area... more
We arrived at a this wonderful european style B & B at 8:30 on a Sunday night. Greeted by a middle aged man. We let him know that we were hungrey after being on the road all day. At which time he had let us know that they kitchen had closed 45 minutes earlier and took us upstairs to our... more
We took the "great escape package" -- one hight plus 5-course dinners plus continental breakfast served in our room. We enjoyed the experience -- the food was outstanding; the suite had lots of character - it came with a fireplace, three(!) bedrooms, and a sitting room. The hotel was built in 1912 and it does need renovating. The carpets are... more
After reading other reviews of La Boheme's restaurant, I was a little worried. In the end, though, our experience was not a disappointment at all. We were 15 minutes late but were still given a nice table by the window. Our server, Adrian, was friendly and very knowledgeable about the wine, and when dessert took a little while to arrive,... more
4 of us stayed here in Dec on our way to the mts. Passengers on our greyhd raved how qauint it was. We all liked supporting mom pop places so were surprised they had sp. when we called. Waited 10 mins before someone answered the door. The lady seemed annoyed. Check in was another 15mins. Think they are short staffed.... more
A very disappointing evening. We went here for New Years Eve 2008. The Service from the French Waiter was dreadful. In fact there was a real lack of service. He ignored us for most of our meal. The building was very run down, reminded us of a “Slum Landlord.” The food was no more than a 2 Star rating. We had heard over the years that this was a restaurant that offered fine dining. At a price of... more
My experience at La Boheme was wonderful. I met the owner, Ernst Eder, and he gave me a tango lesson. Let me back up, La Boheme is a French restaurant in the Highlands area, and also a Bed & Breakfast. My friend and I heard that on Friday nights there's a buffet and night of tango, and so we dropped in to find the salon full of avid tango dancers, and Ernst, the host, was kind enough to give us... more
My wife and I stayed there on a package deal: a room and dinner. The dinner was fantastic. Everything tasted superb. It is a small restaurant but nicely decorated. We did not go to the bar. We stayed in the Toulouse Lautrec room. It was very nice. But keep in mind that "Historic" is the theme here. Most hotels build... more
After hearing great things in a book about this tiny little boutique in a historic area of Edmonton, three friends and I decided to go to the restaurant for dessert after dinner one night, the B&B only a short walk away from where we were. When we arrived, it was made very clear by the staff that while advertising themselves... more
If you believe that Bordelaise sauce should be thickeded with cornstarch instead of thickened by reduction (as they do in France), and that cream sauces are not, in fact, made of cream but of milk and flour, then this is the place for you! Also expect the server to bring you the wrong meal, make up sorry excuses about the kitchen staff making the mistake but refuse to correct the mistake, or... more
We celebrated our one year wedding anniversary my wife and I. We are both from France. We really enjoyed the atmosphere. Food and service was good. Don't take the vegeterian couscous though. A bit disapointing. It is not the usual ingredients and vegetables. I guess the chef tried something different. Potatoes, sweet potatoes and rutabagas, and seminola, that's it! Sometimes it's better to... more

In the early 1900s, this attractive building functioned as a luxury apartment house. Today, it houses a fine restaurant on the ground floor and six spacious bed and breakfast suites (one to three bedrooms, with a kitchenette and elegant furnishings) upstairs. The restaurant is divided into five separate spaces, each with a French country atmosphere all its own. Food here is superb. Classic... more
