This is very authentic. Service is different there. They don't come and check on you, you call them when you need them. That's just the way they do it in Korea. Friend had the Pork Neck soup and I had Kimchee with beef. Both were so happy with our choices but I have to try the Pork Neck next time. It looked and smelled so good. We also had pork pulgogi which was also excellent. I'll go back in... more
They sat us but didnt give us a menu. We waited but no one came to us so I flagged a waitress instead. Even then, after we're ready to order no one came to us. We waited for so long and they were even checking up with the nearby tables. If we didnt call anyone, they wouldnt have come taken our order. Also, the only reason we come here is the gamjatang, it's the best in the world! This is the... more
I went to Kimbaek today for lunch with my co-workers. One of our co-workers recommended this place as very authentic and delicious Korean food. The reason why I am writing this review has nothing to do with the actual quality of the food (which was very good), it has to do with the service.Three of us ordered the #9 dish (one at one table and two at the other - we had to sit at two tables). The... more
My friend wanted to go to a Korean restaurant since he lived in Korea for a few years. When we arrived at Kimbaek, we were in line for a table, with the restaurant packed with mostly Korean diners. As we were waiting, more people were flooding the entrance waiting to get in, which is always a good sign. We were able to order while in line, despite the fact that the waitress seemed overwhelmed.... more
After numerous visits, this place still doesn't disappoint. From the outside, it looks like a little hole in the wall, on the inside, it screams family business and the food really reflects this. The flavours are always great and the service time is decent. For novices, I would start with the meat dishes/bibimbap and work your way up to the pork neck soup, glass noodles, and japchai.
Food so great and delicious , reasonable price , just don't expect FAST service but its all worth the wait. Can't say the name of what we have ordered, all I can remember was its all good, and FABULICIOUS. We will come back for sure.. Joh-eun eumsig.... Gamsahabnida
We had the pork bone soup, bulgogi, and seafood pancake. They raised their menu prices. Anyway, the bulgogi came in a disappointingly small portion. The seafood pancake was too greasy. The pork bone soup was good though. I would just stick to ordering the soup dishes next time.
Located in a shady area of town I am always cautious when I come to this restaurant. But I do come becuase I love their pork neck soup and seafood pancake. Service is nice friendly and as efficient as can be (when it is busy). The restaurant is clean but no the most comfortable, but I always feel at home when I have their food. I would reccomend this restaurant
