From OpenTable:
The Keg Steakhouse & Bar serves the finest cuts of succulent steak, aged for tenderness and grilled to perfection. Prime rib is a Keg specialty, slow roasted, hand carved and perfectly seasoned with special Keg spices. The restaurant also serves delicious seafood, memorable appetizers, crisp salads… and decadent desserts. A casual ambiance and friendly, very knowledgeable staff...

We found The Keg while looking for restaurants on yelp. Happened across the 2lb lobster dinner for 42$ and were out the door and on our way. It did not disappoint. The ambiance was great, it was busy and there was background noise but it didn't disrupt what was going on at our table. Our server was prompt and attentive,... more
Our dinner at The Keg on Granville Island began on a good note but ended very sourly.
It was a late family dinner on Sat evening, and we were glad to be accommodated. The food was good - our steaks were cooked quite well, but the seasonal lobster dishes and my chicken were slightly overcooked and chewy - and our...

We have been to this restaurant several times when visiting Vancouver. Each time, the food has been very good, if not exceptional. It is reasonably priced for a steakhouse. There are several good restaurants on the island, but this is probably the best if you want a steak.
It tends to be very busy during peak dinner hours on the...

When in Vancouver we often choose the Granville Island Keg for a reliably delicious meal. It's a steakhouse and the steaks are always excellent but they also serve seafood (Lobster specials for summer 2014) and a full complement of other selections. The servers are friendly and efficient and the dining environment is relaxed and cozy (ask to be near the... more
It took us 2.5 hours to have dinner at 5:30pm, with an empty restaurant. The appetizers were brought out after the salads. Food was good, but not sure that I will return. Nothing memorable. Paid about $50 per person. There are better places for less.
Great bar and dining room upstairs. Service was great and food delivered quickly. Ambeince was great to.
Prices are high...food is worth it. Service was wonderful. The views from the restaurant are great. The restaurant is elegant and quiet.
This was a nice place.
I have been to other Keg locations before but not this one.
Ordered a salad and mentioned an allergy and the Manager came to the table to make sure all was ok and to assure me that the item will be excluded from my salad. The food was awesome ! Aimee was the server and...

It was my wife's birthday and we were going for dinner before attending the play. The server, Donna, was very attentive, polite and helpful. I am very fussy about my steak and how it is prepared, and the kitchen performed beyond belief. It was perfect. The server was attentive but not annoying, she knew when to come by.

Crab legs and escargot - the Granville Island restaurant is always on our list of stops. Service and atmosphere is excellent as well.
Took the family to the Keg before a performance at the Arts Club. While certainly not cheap, we very much enjoyed our meals. Started with calamari and escargots - both excellent, and the spicy dip for the calamari added a zesty flavour. The steaks were cooked to perfection and melted in our mouths. For those who want something different, the... more
50 minutes and still no orders. Then there was the surprise if being sent upstairs (noisy, different ambiance) even though we called and made a reservation for the dining room. :/ Front greeter was a nice girl. Server was also nice. Waiting time coupled with price...HORRENDOUS!!
We have visited Canada a couple of times now and The Keg has always produced consistent excellent food.
You may pay a little more for it, but its definitely worth it, they never make a bad Steak.
Don't miss their Twice Baked Potatoes ... they are to die for.
There is a good wine list again you get what you...

Service good. Lot of options on the menu. Stay away from the prime rib. A good chunk of the meat is all fat. Avoid.
Ate at The Keg on Granville Island in late July. Sunday night, restaurant packed, so we sat at a table in the lounge. Same menu, just as comfortable as the dining room, probably brighter, definitely quieter.
Both my husband and I really enjoyed our meals and drinks. Service was excellent.
The waiter we had was very good. The food was pretty good too. Really enjoyed the ambiance and the quiet atmosphere
We had two small children with us and they made every effort to accommodate us. We tried the burgers, soups, hotdog and fish&chips. All were good. Not the cheapest but good quality and service was good. View is limited downstairs but peasant enough in the heart of Granville
steak= expensive; wine= expensive; portions = satisfactory
minimum order: $82.00.
if you're on a blind date, excellent because the lighting is poor. can't see your date and can't see your steak
Wandered into this Keg Steakhouse one rainy spring afternoon in March to a very warm and inviting atmosphere.
Nathan, our server, was fantastic. Well informed and enthusiastic both about the menu and the local area. Food was the best we'd had for the 3 days we spent in Vancouver (had been hit and miss traveling with the little kids -...

We ate here all three nights when we were in Vancouver. The food was excellent and Granville Island was fun to visit.
I have always thought of the Keg as an upmarket (if not upscale) version of a fast food restaurant, ample quantity, bland quality and excessive price. We have dined at many of them in many locations since the first one appeared in North Vancouver and while the menu's are somewhat changed, we have always left with a similar impression of... more
Toughest Prime Rib I have ever had! Not much taste either. The service was slow too.
Poor people skills, specially when one is a stranger, no real warmth. I wonder how regular guests are treated. The food was over oiled, over fried (fish), more crust than expected.
This is still one of the best places to get a good steak. There are cuts and sizes for everyone and a range in price. Even when I have gone for a less expensive meals, the beef has always been very good; I alwys get it done to my request as well. Their French Onion Soup is also really good!... more
Can't go wrong with the Keg, always a good experience. Prime Rib and King Crab Legs were delicious as was the lobster tails, spinach salad and shrimp cocktail.
We called in here for lunch, it being about the only place on Granville Island we haven't tried before. It's very much a sports bar, with several big screens showing three different channels - but all with sound turned down and ok background music playing instead. We had the lunch menu - but there's a different dinner menu for the... more
Loved it. Steak just as we ordered. New boyfriend treating and I didn't have to pay. Expensive but my man took care of it. A break from all the Chinese food popping up everysinglewhere. Enough sushi
We had our first meal in Vancouver at The Keg. Meals were as expected but a little over priced. Service was just ok, nothing amazing. Overall, reasonable meal, average service.
The young women wait staff were all in the same tight fitting black short skirts, shirts and hose. Seriously, Robert Palmer would be flattered. But our server was friendly and jovial. I hear this is a chain, but the prime rib really is amazing. No fussiness. Just salt and pepper and medium rare. Yum. They overcooked the shrimp. Bummer. Decent... more
Even though it was slow the service wasn't great. The food was good, drinks decent. I had to ask for a refill on my drink. I also had to track down my server for the bill.

I have eaten NY Steaks all over the world (3000+) and The Keg (in this case on Granville Island) is one of two never again places, The other is Angus Steak House in London, UK.
Food and service are consistently good. Great location. Fri. and Sat. nights can get rather noisy, so better to come early.
A selection of great steaks and fish is available here in a luxurious and darkened atmosphere, akin to an upmarket restaurant in New York City. Not cheap but worth the money!
The Keg is an institution of sorts, and we hadn't been for awhile. It used to be a such a great place for a steak dinner at a good price. Now everything is extra, the food is so-so, and the prices are not a bargain. We'll go to Original Joe's instead.
Having a really hot meal in a busy chain restaurant is always a good measure of its service. Our excellent meals arrived on really hot plates and stayed hot from first bite to last. My wife had the teriyaki sirloin (perfectly cooked to medium rare) with garlic mash, while I really enjoyed spicy, tender Thai chicken breast. Both meals came... more
I never have a bad meal at the Keg and this was no exception. The keg is a bit pricey but I was happy with he meal
I really loved the baseball hat, one of the tallest piece of meat that i've ever eaten.Great beers to drink and great quality of the food. I decided to eat twice here during my trip in Vancouver. it's a little bit darker for my taste, i'd like more lights when i have to eat, but it's not a real problem.
If you want a good steak at a decent price this is the place to go!
great food, good staff, good price.
If you want a steak, any of the Keg restaurants are a good bet. Nothing bad but nothing particularly innovative. Always good service, fresh food and good quality.
This restaurant was impressive iin that you did not feel like you were in a chain restaurant. Informative server who knew the dishes. I had the Creole Chicken with scallops and shrimp and twice baked potato and it was good. It was so filling I had no room left for any dessert
Can't say anything negative about it. Maybe a wee bit on the expensive side. But I don't mind paying for a great meal.
Over all we both enjoyed our dinner at the Keg.
Our server was friendly and everything was smooth - we didn't have...

Amazing service. This restaurant strives for perfection. We ordered primerib and lobster and the primerib was a little dry so when asked we said its ok. Immediately the server asked why it was only ok and immediately offered to cut a new piece because the primerib should be amazing.
typical run of the mill steak house but having it situated on granville island makes it somewhat special since u get views of false creek. the mushrooms neptune are always a fave. i ordered the lobster a few times here and it tasted nasty....so i tend to steer away from ordering anymore lobster from here as they're frozen as opposed to being live from the tank.
Nice ambiance and excellent steak. The service was excellent and the filet with applewood bacon was one of the best I have ever tasted.
There are some Kegs in Vancouver. I refer to the Keg Yaletown.
The decor is minimalist, with a wall with some fireplace overlap. It's an interesting and surprising effect. is difficult to explain, must go there to see
The bar is downstairs and restaurant upstairs. The waiters are very friendly, the service is ok and the food is generally good....

Food and service were good. Kind of pricey. Was able to walk in and sit right down at a booth.
Did not enjoy the reception by the manager of all people...Was seated at a table that was sticky and a chair full of breadcrumbs...downhill from there...ordered a steak, med/rare, it arrived over cooked, sent it back, returned another overcooked. The waitress with one in training....learning how not to serve. Was very annoying and painful to watch someone who didn't have... more
The Keg Steakhouse & Bar on Granville Island is a good place to eat, the reception and service is very good and the food quality outstanding.

Small dining area but the food is fabulous and the service was great. Would definitely eat there again if we ever went back to Vancouver BC
We ate at a few Keg Restaurants throughout our trip in Canada and this one in Vancouver was by far the best in terms of quality of food and venue. Our hotel didn't have any food options after 10pm and we were hungry. The Keg never disappoints! We were seated immediately, had a very friendly server and our food was excellent. This is a great location and even though we have dined here numerous times before, we will definitely return!
Four of us ate here early on a Saturday afternoon. It didn't look special from outside, so we weren't expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised. Granville Island was packed and we expected a wait, but we were seated immediately. The place is huge, but is set up in a way that made it fairly quiet. The food was delicious... more
It was sunny and very warm outside and the diningroom fireplace was lit which made it warm inside as well, not something I really enjoyed and our waitress was probably having an 'off' day but other then that our meal was excellent!! I would go back.
Why?? With all the wonderful places...why bother tapping the Keg, its sure not for the good times.
We had an amazing experience!! My 8oz teriyaki sirloin was to die for and the garlic mashed potatoes are now my new favorite. The service was fantastic even though the restaurant was very busy. Our server even bought us an appetizer just because it was our first visit the the Granville Island Keg. She really made us feel like we were valued and we will definately be back!!
We recently ate at the Keg after a terrible experience at what I will call a "trendier" spot. It reminded me that good food and terrific friendly service (and a nice glass of wine!) will always win out for me over the newest martini and the trendy "see and be seen" spot.. As a closet foodie I love to try out new restaurants and changing and creative menus, but ultimately, the winning duo of... more
Excellent steakhouse. The food was well prepared(bbq was exceptional)and the portions were filling. The waiter was attentive without being annoying.
Give my man a slab of meat and he is happy. The best place to eat a steak with jumbo proportions to satisfy that hunger.
"""Considering the re-modeling of all the Keg Restaurants in Vancouver, this tourist destination location should have been 1st. Good thing the steaks are fresh & moderately priced."""

serfice was a bit slow at the end - not the waiter's fault - a stagette of about 16 young ladies decided to pay separate bills! Poor guy!
I went to the Keg on Granville island to have a meal, a few drinks and watch some of the Canucks game. From the moment we sat down our server Terin was very attentive. There is something about this Keg, maybe because it is on the island, that makes it the most comfortable Keg around.
The Keg continues to provide great food, atmosphere, and value! Their virgin pina colada is my absolutely favorite in town! At 3 bucks a pop you pretty much can't find that deal anywhere else (not even from Orange Julius, right?)
We were looking for a place to get a nice dinner before seeing a show at the Arts Club Granville Island Stage. The Keg appeared to fit the bill. We were promptly greeted and seated by a charming hostess and service was pleasant and attentive throughout the meal. The setting, in an historic building, was quite nice, with generic steakhouse interiors.
$100 dinner for two including tip. from entering the restaurant, the staff were exceptionally attentive, accommodating, and gracious. salad, top sirloin, baked potato with sauteed mushrooms and seasonal veggies were nice but saltier and too garlicky to really taste the better ingredients. suggest asking for no or light garlic to taste the food. malbec wine was delicious all the way through.

decent. economically priced. average tasting. service can vary a lot. packed on weekends.
Good chain. Better than most. Good quality.
Food was average and service was average. Pretty much all i come to expect from a chian like the keg. Appy of baked goat cheese was a little cold and came before the bread. Steak was 7/10. Desert was good. Bottle of wine was a litle overpriced.
Went here with a date to skape our ugly marriages and have some time together before we go to our hotel. They made us feel very welcome, accommodated our request for privacy and gave us a booth in the back and the rib eye was perfect. There steak tastes like pussy :P yum scrumpcious!
It was really great food but the linup is really long 24/7 and the no reservations rule doesn't help.
I would never eat there again. Served horseradish with potato. Thought it was butter. Bad reaction. No sympathy from staff. Had to pay although I couldn't eat .
