We were in Kamloops for a week to attend a large animal practicum at Thompson River University and needed a hotel that offered a kitchenette without being too expensive. After researching all the Kamloops hotels, we felt this hotel filled our needs and we were not disappointed.

Okay for a stay of only one night

Good Hotel, Close to Food and Shopping

We were a group of 6 adults in need of a place to rest on the way to Nanaimo. The room rate was very affordable, beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. It is within walking distance of a mall with a theatre, a couple of nice restaurants, fast food, a drug store and 2 gas stations. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Parking was good.

Adequate

Since we arived rather late, we were given a room at the back. Although okay, it would have been so much nicer at the front with their wonderful view. The room was average, although well equipped with a mini-kitchen.

Old worn out place, wouldn't stay again. Mountain view is a straight up hill with condos above you, no view from this room. Pile of phone books outside room door, mops buckets etc, good parking and the street side of the place is nice.

The room we were in was recently (and Hurriedly) renovated. it was clean and well stocked and all the amenities worked as they should. However, the breakfast there was TERRIBLE.

Superficial renovations

Painting walls and providing giant TV's should not be classified as a renovation. Very run down plumbing and climate control. Sink wouldn't drain at all. We had to brush our teeth in the tub. Room was either freezing or stifling.

Kamloops Mountview is definitely a place to stay. I would recommend this hotel as it is centrally located within Kamloops and it is a hotel of great quality. Service was good, breakfast was included. WIFI did work well.

Accommodating

We showed up in the late afternoon without a reservation and they were able to provide us with a room that we were looking for, I also forgot some clothes in the room which they sent back to me.

Good as a budget hotel

Good budget hotel to stay in. Not luxury, but perfectly adequate if you are looking just to stay for the night when passing through.

The stay exceeded our expectations. When we arrived at the hotel we were told that there was an error made by the hotel pertaining to our reservation which was quickly remedied by the front desk clerk.

Heavy smoke smelling rooms

Our room was smelling smoke heavily. The air conditioning (in a 37 C Kamloop evening) was just making thing worst, as probably nor even the filter in the A/C was changes. All corridors were full of cups with cigarettes butts. All this despite the clear conditions we were requested to sign that we would not smoke in the room.

Love this place!

This is my second time here and really enjoyed our stay both times. Great service, cleaner and larger room (with kitchenette) than I had booked, fun in the pool and friendly gal at the front desk. Just wish we got there earlier! I highly recommend!

Kamloops Travellodge review

only booked in for one night, had a flight out early the next morning, found the desk clerk pleasant and willing to answer any questions, room was clean and comfortable as well it was was quiet, will definitely consider staying there again.

Better than expected

Newly updated rooms was very pleased with look of them. Very convenient from the highway. Was with in walking distance to grab a bite to eat after long day of driving.

Overall good except:1. the replacement staff at night just not helpfull at all. i asked questions and he just stared at me & no answer. I speak english.2. the hotel have mountain view, i stayed for 4 nights and got a wall view which is 4 feet from the window, but if you like to wake up late, this room is the right one, because it always dark even opening the curtain and was sunny outside.

It was apparent that this was a previously run down hotel that was in the process of being fixed up. Many things were nice, but amenities like pool & breakfast still had work to be done.

Close to shopping and in a good area of town

Unfortunate the hot tub did not work the second night. Night clerk was not that helpful. The next day the office staff could not have been nicer and we did get a refund.

The hotel is being upgraded very nicely and it looks lovely. Unfortunately, they had somehow overbooked the hotel and we were not put in the suite we had booked (we wanted the suite with separate bedroom and a kitchenette and lounge area). This Travelodge is right on the highway for easy access when you are travelling through. The rooms are clean but very tight and quite dated. Continental breakfast is cold items only - lots of tables - you have to walk outside to get to the breakfast.

Enhanced visit for wedding. Fifteen family members stayed and all enjoyed themselves. Staff were very accomodating and the facilties were very good. I will be staying there next visit.

Clean, nice staff, comfortable bed and good value for your money.

There had been some recent upgrades to the room (granite counters, new kitchen faucet) that were not complete. A bureau's drawers would not stay shut as the bureau needed levelling. The Murphy bed worked well and was comfortable. The included breakfast offered a wide selection of choices including fresh peaches.

Nice spacious rooms. Fridge was a little bigger than your average mini fridge. Outdoor pool was a tad chilly but felt great with the hot weather. Complimentary breakfast was pretty slim pickings if you got there on the later end.
