We had a great evening at The Jubilee last night. We were on the second balcony and could still see and hear very well. Parking was a bit of a pain so go early to avoid that stress.
Classy place, good acoustics, really enjoyed the show we saw there. There are some amazing views of the city from that area.
Have attended many events over the last 30 years and there is not a bad seat in the house. Every event I have attended is full and the entertainment constantly delivers what you expect to see. High quality entertainment and a good environment. Keep it up Jube staff!
I look forward to the next event that I choose to attend.
Obviously, location goes a long way. I was able to eat at Chili's and leave my car there (with restaurant permission). I took a taxi to your event for $10 (with tip). Judging by the huge line of cars waiting to park, it was a great decision.
It was beautiful inside and the staff were generally quite friendly. One security...

This building has a lot of comforts. The seating is average but the sound is great. Their website stated that there was no charge for parking for the event however, we did have to pay $10. It was evident that other drivers were not prepared as the line ups while people looked for money and the talk before the concert... more
A number of years ago the Jubilee Auditorium received a face lift - nicer, more comfortable seats, better acoustics, and changes in the seating which provided better sight lines. The building is great, the bar and the lounge and public areas are excellent. Two things that are not as great. The first is the ladies washroom. You really need to... more
Excellent acoustics, even the band members commented positively on the sound. What a performance in a terrific venue site.
Have been to this place many times to watch concerts. The building is very nice and location is great. Have food to buy and bar for drinks. Lots of good seating with I believe two balconies. Love going to hear great music that comes their way!!
Besides the Centre for Performing Arts downtown, where else is there to see a great live performance in Calgary? The last time I was here was to watch Blue Man Group, and this time it was for West Side Story (which had a less than one week run). First balcony centre is a nice spot if you can get the front row, otherwise be prepared to have your sightline blocked by people with long torsos.
Over the years we've seen some great shows at the Jube ranging from Bill Cosby, to various concerts and to Riverdance. Last year we saw another production of Les Mis which was just as great as the first one we had seen here about 10 years ago! The Jubilee is a very nice facility and makes for a great night... more
The acoustics in the Jubilee are awesome and the sound quality anywhere in the auditorium is excellent. I love all the wood and the history of the Jubilee. It has been an integral part of Calgary's history for decades and I appreciate the care that is taken of this wonderful landmark.
I've been to the Jubilee a couple of times now and I really appreciate the beautiful style of this 1950's auditorium. The acoustics are stunning. However, since it seats a whopping 2.5k people, you're pretty far from the stage if you're sitting in the second balcony.
If you're going to see someone like Stuart McLean, which is mostly about the...

nice facility. Kinda hard to get to so plan and map out your route. parking is not free so be prepared for that. great facility. have seen several cultural shows (Lord of the Dance, musical performances) here over the years. neat facility.
What an amazing venue, so beautiful and the acoustics are amazing.
We came here to see the Nutcracker Ballet, and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The bar staff was a bit frantic trying to get everyone beverages at intermission, but they seemed to handle it okay.
For a classy night out, this is the venue.
Great acoustics!
I'm not really fond of the layout here, with coat check being on one side of the auditorium, and there only being one way of escalators, so you have to walk up or down the rest of the stairs in your high heels. There aren't quite enough stalls in the bathrooms. There aren't any bathrooms on the 2nd balcony either. Not enough water fountains either.
Not enough staffing during...

The Jube , as it is lovingly called, offers Calgarians a grand experience, excellent acoustics and the opportunity to soak in the shared joy of hundreds of fellow like minded people. However as much as we love every single event we have attended at the Jube, we always take several moments before purchasing tickets to consider "the parking problem". Often... more
I have seen some amazing entertainment there. The sound quality is excellent. Parking can be a problem, but the C-Train stops on the grounds and I would suggest you take it. You will get home faster than waiting for traffic to clear. Seating is good with even the worst seats giving you a decent view
I always enjoy time at the Jubilee for a variety of events, particularly Musicals.
It is also well used for special performances, school shows, concert band events.
The view has been incredible since opening day!
I still feel the "classy~ness" of this old building.
I was there with my high school opening week, and I have a special love for...

A great venue for a concert or musical. The acoustics are fantastic. Most of the seats have a good view, but if you get seats in the second balcony, do bring binoculars. Intermission snacks are very pricy. And the line-ups for the women's washroom are long.
We just saw Joe Satriani last night at the Jube. Awesome acoustics, comfortable seats, pristine glassware, great view out offend windows on the second floor.
They sang every song I could think of and then some. Awesome sound guys looked good but hard to see them close-up. Never give up on your dreams because everything is possible. Back in the day I graduated from CHHS in the jube.
I've gone to the Jubilee Auditorium for diverse events and have seated in different areas. I was able to see and hear (and therfore enjoy) the events very well, regardless of where I was seated.
Good place for shows!
The Jubilee is a fabulous venue for any kind of musical performance. The acoustics are excellent, and the seats are very comfortable, even for some one who is short in the leg department. I have also been on stage with the Calgary Opera chorus in several performances, and it is an absolutely inspiring place to perform.
We've seen numerous shows at the Jubilee. Parking is good, and it is easy to get to. Takes a bit of time to get out after the show, but traffic is directed and everyone polite.
Love to attend events here. Comfortable seats & great acoustics. Only criticism is if you sit near the top/back, if its a warm day outside, it can get uncomfortably warm in there.
We attended here for the production of Les Miserables on July 6, 2013. Knowing nothing about this auditorium, I was thoroughly impressed by its design, cleanliness, functionality, seating, acoustics and amenities. It rivals any Toronto facility - and we were not crushed into our seats. Leg room was evident and the exits were plentiful and easy to access. Washrooms were... more
Upon arrival parking was convenient and seemed fairly plentiful though we arrived the recommended 45 minutes early. On entering the building it was difficult to find the ramp that lead to the upper lobby area that allowed one into the theatre area. We were shown to our seats but never shown (nor was it mentioned as we passed it) the... more
The Jubilee is just an auditorium. There is nothing particularly special about it, and would definitely not call it an attraction.
Been to a number of shows and never a bad experiance. Right on the C Train and lots of parking so very accessable. Very modern and well kept theatre with major renovations in the last two years. Good view and audio for the whole theatre.
A very nice place to attend performances.Accoustics were wonderful since their recent renovation.I don't think there is a bad seat in the house now.
The Jubilee has always been the cultural centre for Calgary. The performance done by the Alberta Ballet was well done, and the auditorium was a major part of making the experience complete. Staff are there when you need them.
Was disappointed in the layout of the auditorium. Acoustics not the greatest. Many good entertainers and shows here, but I think the Jack Singer hall is a better venue.
The Jube is my favourite venue for arts performances in Calgary. There's not a bad seat in the house because the theatre isn't too big. The food services are intermission are quick no matter which bar you go to and there are plenty of clean washrooms. They bring in a ton of great performances.
Excellent facility , accoustics are superb, seating is very good, and amenities are great. Parking is easy and convenient to building. No dislikes.
Very good venue that is accesible via the C-Train line which is nice. The "Jub" holds a variety of different events through out the year and the last event we went to there was the production of "Beauty and the Beast".
I find the raised seating with a good set of glasses the best for viewing a production such as...

I have seen many concerts, ballet & musical productions here -- and have never had a bad seat. I like to sit on the main floor centre -- or to the side on the raised wings. I did sit at the very top of the auditorium once -- the sound is still excellent -- but it is a bit harder... more
Check the web for lisitings of what is happening here. It is a nice facility with great acoustics. All seats are good; the ones on the raised side are very good.
Great Sound. Easy to get to by Ctrain which stopped right out front! Loved the art displays inside while waiting to be seated.
An excellent building. Great for viewers and performers. I have played there and it is a good building.
It looks a bit like the inside of a giant violin now. I like the views from the new wings on each side.
say a comedy show here, and sat up high against the back wall. Was still a very good show. Parking can be difficult.
The Southern Alberty Jubilee Auditorium is a wonderful place for artists to display their work and for the presentation of theatre/opera. I have enjoyed many diverse events at the Jubilee from Dinner to Opera. You'll be charmed.
a lot of local talent pass through this building , Calgalry opera and Alberta Ballet to top the list
I was way up at the top. It was comfortable and i could hear everything. Hard to see Bill Cosby but you get what you pay for.
The "Jube" is a first class place to see any type of show.I've seen so many variety of acts over the years here from Rock/Roll shows,Classical,Jazz,Stand up Comedians,Childrens shows.I've never been disappointed.
Peter Frampton,Gordon Lightfoot,Alice Cooper,Jerry Seinfeld and The Nutcracker have all recently played here and on Feb 11/13,Jason Bonham's Led Zeppelin Experience will be the next...

I've been to many performances here, most recently last night. I seem to think the main floor restrooms have been renovated (among other things) since the last time I was here. They are rather nice. I appreciate the announced countdown of time prior to the start of a show. Overall, it's a classy place and I think it's a fantastic semi-intimate venue. I never purchase food or beverages so have... more
Enjoyed the musical . Bought last minuteclose to front row centre seats on kijiji. Musical with rock not somethingI normally I would choose to see. Nice to enjoy the moment and reminesce and enjoy rock tunes and escape from the cold weather. Good singers and actors. Blast from the past for the 80's culture, fashion and music.
Lovely auditorium. ...The show was average, but that should not reflect poorly upon the venue. Very easy to get to by C-Train! I wouldn't take a car there.
The Jubilee always does things to the highest standard, I have been here many times and never been dissapointed.
The Jubilee Auditorium is one of the top notch venues in the City of Calgary. I have been to "the Jube" a number of times for various events - everything from the Nitty Gritty dirt band, to Jerry Seinfeld, fundraisers, and on December 23rd -- the Nutcracker Ballet.
In my opinion, there are many highs and lows around going to events at the Jube, such as:

We with the girls to Stuart's Christmas event. Great music in a great auditorium. Stuart is funny but he also finds the best musicians. They music was wonderful and the stories held me spell bound. Great night
Concerts are comfortable and up close in this venue. Ballet is a favorite here as well. We saw Chen Yun and it was magical. Can't wait for the Nutcracker!
Great venue and excellent parking...need to be patient getting in and out of the area, but it is worth it!
Seats are not cheap, but then this is a world-class facility. If you have purchased one of the less expensive seats, bring a pair of binoculars to see the faces of the singers/actors. Get dressed up, and go early to watch the people. There are some GREAT operas and ballets to attend.
Review #22 of Yelp's 30 Day Challenge 2012
I've only been to the Jubilee Auditorium twice - once to watch Alberta Ballet and another time to Rock of Ages. Jubilee Auditorium and both experiences were excellent. All the ushers were very friendly and always ready to assist anyone who's having a hard time finding their seats. I like that there were several bars which prevented long lines before...

Everything about this venue is top nothch. Acoustics are incredible. Great Big Sea performance was conducted without amplifiers for parts of the show and it was clear and amazing.
Very good location for a show. I enjoyed the seating, it was easy to see the stage and the acoustics are excellent. The decor is subdued and relaxing and it was easy to find parking at the nearby SAIT lot, although somewhat expensive in my opinion. The Rapid Transit Trains or "C" trains as the locals know them, come close... more
the sound is great and they have great shows all year long..
Need to work on the food and drinks during the break.
Fortunately I managed to grab a couple of tickets to Calgary Opera's 2012 presentation of Pagliacci / Gianni Schicchi a week and a half before its showing. Due to the popularity of the presentation and the fact that it was the opening night of the 2012 season, tickets went quickly and the best I could do for me and my date was row X chair 50 and 51.

I've seen a few performances here, most recently the full operatic performance of Aida, and of less grandiosity, but equal charm, Corb Lund and the Hurtin' Albertans.
I've been to few theatres around the world, and while "The Jubilee" is not equal to say, the Lincoln Centre, I do feel that Calgary is pretty lucky to have such a well-designed, reasonably aesthetic venue. The sightlines are...

The name "auditorium" doesn't really do this place justice. It is easily one of my favourite spaces to watch theatre or catch a show in all of Calgary. I'm not just saying that because the sinks in the bathrooms have soap that comes out with the water. Okay, I sorta am.
Besides the kick-a@s bathroom, the auditorium itself is simply stunning. I've had seats all over the place and they usually...

Still my favorite place for seeing a show or musical event. This venue a more class experience. Whether it's a philharmonic orchestra, musical production, live theatre, stand-up comedy, graduation, or seasoned musical artist, it all makes for a memorable experience.
The most impressive thing about the JASA was how organised the parking staff was, there was a good full house last night and parking seemed to flow quite freely. We found a space in the parking lot for a mere 5 dollars and just one level up brought us inside and down the hall from the auditorium. There is an amazing view of Calgary from this location and our cityscape twinkled in the night.

I hadn't been to the Jubilee Auditorium in a good 10 years and finally revisited it last night when I went to go see The Alberta Ballet perform The Nut Cracker on stage there.

Not the best venue in town to see live music. We went to see a show there this summer and we waited too long to buy tickets which meant we were way in the upper, upper deck. Outside the windows, you could see through clouds. The angle seems odd there in that it actually goes away from the stage as it goes up.
I don't even think the acoustics were all that great. They had to pump it up to reach...
