You Should Eat At Least One Meal here while Visiting Victoria

Our last night on Victoria BC and wanted some plain, filling, tasty, economical food and we found this place on TripAdvisor. It filled the bill to a tee. Service was friendly, food was dishes were hot, plentiful and tasty.

High quality

Ordered takeaway on New Years, which took an hour.
Was well worth the wait. The Sichuan beans and beef hot pot were incredible.
Crispy ginger beef was also really good.
Not in the main china town are but definitely worth a visit.

Thankful it was open

The last time we travelled to Victoria the J&J noodle house was closed. Thankfully it was open this time. What an excellent meal. This restaurant has half a dozen dishes on the menu that are on my "desert island" food list. The honey sesame chicken is practically narcotic. Service is fast & efficient, and food always great.

Food has changed

We've been visiting this restaurant for many years whenever we are in town. Food has always been consistent if a bit expensive for what is offered. However, this return trip left us disappointed. It was more heavily flavoured and of lower quality. We understand ownership has changed.

Our second visit. So many interesting choices. Absolutely wonderful flavours. I moaned in pleasure with each mouthful. There is simply no comparison to any other Chinese food restaurant. I wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

I could say this place has the best noodles I’ve had. They taste great, they are mostly prepared in front of you, and that is important for me because you can tell if everything is clean. Probably the best chinese restaurant in the city

I've been going to J&Js for years. My wife eats there 2-3 times a week. Check the white board that greets you as you walk in for the specials of the day. They are usually amazing. The imperial prawns are one of our family favorites.

I always base my decision to enter a restaurant by how it smells when I walk through the door. J&J passes my test every time. Food is fast, fresh and servings are large. Service is moderate - but the taste of the food makes up for it.
