First off, don't confuse this hotel with the Intercontinental off Union Station. We asked what stop we should get off and all the associates at UP Station told us at the Union Station, when in reality, it's a different InterContinental.
To get to this location, you can take a $13 cab ride from the Union Station to get here or you can hop on the metro/subway and get off at St. George's and walk...

Great location which is a block or so away from the beginning of all the high end stores.
Their staff is very accommodating and on top of things. They always inquire if we needed anything and are quick to get the valet to pull up our car.
I got a handicap accessible room during my first night and they changed me out to a deluxe room for the remainder of the stay the following day after. They...

We just had our wedding here - it was the most MAGICAL night.
We were the only wedding of the night (they only ever do one wedding a night), had a private floor away from other hotel guests and the service was absolutely PHENOMENAL! You spend all of this time (and money!) planning a wedding, you want it to be perfect and the intercontinental definitely did their part. The food was amazing (the...

Been here for three nights on a business trip, I liked the stay and I everything went well. Rooms are big, the bed was very comfortable.
It lacked the complimentary water bottle (some hotels now offer it as a standard), and the furniture is a bit old, but all in all the stay was good.
Good location, bed not very comfortable. Just an average room with a nice lobby. I expected a bit more from an Intercontinental Hotel.
It is a fine hotel, the Intercontinental Yorkville. We arrived late in the evening, and were greeted with excellent service at the front desk. Our (upgraded) room was very comfortable, with one of the greatest hotel beds I've slept in. The view of the art museum through a bay window was tops.
The building, like most hotels I think, was under renovation in various parts when we visited. And you...

Spent a Saturday night. The staff were very polite and the hotels location is close to everything. Only thing I could say negative was that clock radio did not work and I could not get the clock to light up. Also could not get the Keurig coffee maker in the room to operate. Otherwise clean and nice hotel.
Just got back from a 3 day trip to TO. Stayed at the Intercontinental in Yorkville and experienced exceptional service from hotel staff. Excellent hotel, rooms were immaculate, everything was very clean, the Beds were very comfortable and the Pool was the weekend highlight! I booked through a third party as part of a package for my son and me. I had requested an upgrade from standard to superior and paid the premium. We stayed overnight after a Christmas Party and quite enjoyed it. The hotel has a cozy, warm atmosphere. The rooms were large, nicely decorated and most importantly, the bed was very comfortable! The bathroom was a little small and the shower was tight but it was nice to have the powder room by the living room.
The rooms are large and nicely decorated, and the bathrooms are large with both showers and bathtubs. The building itself is older, and the rooms have exposed electrical conduit and few outlets. Beautiful hotel, great location and friendly staff. We stayed during Thanksgiving and the hotel was excellent. The rooms were first rate, the service excellent and the restaurant was very good. The Vodka bar was fun too! Great value for the price that we paid. And, the location could not have been better.
This is a very nice hotel in a great location, close to many attractions you'll want to see while staying in Toronto. Rooms are finished with a classy yet functional look. Service from all employees is top notch too. I will definitely stay here again !!
A comfortable, clean, pleasant hotel with very nice and attentive staff. No complaints other than the cost being close to $400/night (Canadian) and the wireless internet was weak in the room. If cost is an issue, I would compare prices for nearby hotels. Granted, luxury comes at a price, but this was pretty steep.
This hotel has an excellent location right across the road from the museum, and a minute walk from Yorkville. You can also pick up the subway from right across the road that will take you nearly anywhere you need to go.

Very disappointed in this property...it is really in need of a complete refurb: from the lobby, to the halls, to the rooms. Dated, mouldy tile in the bathroom, yucky, smelly hallway...it's a world away from the location on Front Street. Good lord, they charge enough for rooms, how about they spring for some new bathrooms?!
Overall vey good stay. The room was clean and well appointed- not luxe but not shabby (the bathroom fixtures could have been a little nicer but not dingy). Good service and relatively accessible. Only downside as that the gym was a little small.
Location, location, location. Yet the staff was excellent. The size of the room was huge. Perfectly clean and everything working fine.
Stayed Sunday night as a little staycation. Hotel was OK but a bit dated. Bed not nearly as comfortable as a Marriott bed! Front desk staff were excellent, bellboys pleasant but a bit laid back. Room service was excellent. I was asked to join the IHG Program upon checking-in, which gave me complimentary wi-fi. You cannot go wrong by staying here.
Good neighborhood. Convenient to museums ,shopping, restaurants. Helpful concierge and staff. Unfortunately, our room was exposed to some rumbling and low but steady noise from the underground, despite the fact that it was on the 6th floor. Otherwise, it was very good value for Toronto and included breakfast.
The service and comfort of this hotel is exceptional, and the location absolutely perfect. It is not a crowded neighborhood, especially compared to being on the waterfront near the lake. There are a couple of great museums literally "next door" and wonderful restaurants in residential neighborhoods, also nearby. All amenities in the hotel or nearby make it the ideal place to stay.
Hotel is nice lobby hallway is too dark and they charge you for local calls after you pay them $238
The dining room service was very slow. When we finally did get it the food was very good.
I used this central location to be a tourist in Toronto. Used the TTC extensively to visit everything. Very relaxing to have a comfortable room to return to.
This hotel has an ideal location, catty corner to the Royal Ontario Museum and across from the music conservatory in the lovely enclave that is Yorkville. Great location opposite The ROM with excellent transport links (Metro) nearby. There is a self parking option behind the hotel should you wish to avoid valet parking. TIP - if visiting the CN Tower, consider lunch at the 360 restaurant at the top which includes the view for only a few dollars more!
The room was smelly. We had to ask for another bath robe and extra towels.
Perfect hotel stay in Toronto. Staff diplomatic and helpful, rooms elegant, and quiet. The experience was similar to what we expect from the great hotels of Asia and the Middle East, one sometimes difficult to find in North America.
We came to TO for a concert at the rogers centre. It was a fair ways away, but the hotel itself was worth it. Very clean, quite swanky, and comfortable bedding. For the price of the hotel, it is definitely not worth it. While a convenient location, the hotel has definitely seen better days. You can tell it was probably high-end maybe 15-20 years ago, but everything feels badly outdated, and old. Needs desperate refurbishment.
Upon arrival, after a very long day of driving, we were informed that the hotel was over-booked for our first night. Stayed here for a work trip for 3 days. Got to enjoy the cozy, large rooms, with seating area (just reserved a king sized room), plus the pool on the roof top and the fitness center. Room service was delicious, although expensive, but it is room service at a luxury hotel.

The hotel apparently has not been updated for god knows how many years. The bathroom vanity has no shelves or drawers. Tiles are worn out. The shower area is small like a coffin. Hotel lobby is dark, even the room doors resembles 1950's old-styled door. The staff, though, are very courteous. It resembles nothing like other Inter-continental Hotels in Asia or middle east.
Hotel staff was exceptionally courteous and so accommodating.
Staff were extremely helpful and courteous. The room had everything we needed, and the beds were comfortable and clean. It was located directly across the street from the Museum and within walking distance to many other restaurants sites. We would highly recommend staying here again.

I just stayed here on business and liked the hotel very much. I planned to stay there again for my upcoming trips. But sadly, I left a cosmetic case in my room, and the hotel turned it into a huge hassle. If they mail it, they want $25 for sending a staff person to the post office in addition to the postal charges, and otherwise they send it by courier at a rate of $85. And they need an email... more
Loved the experience, staff was incredibly professional and helpful especially James. He recommended an amazing restaurant just around the corner.

Great location at the starting point of the fashionable Bloor Street. I could on a good day walk all the way to Eaton Centre at the square on Yonge Street. The rooms are nice and spacious and great as long as everything is in good repair. Check. You can people watch from the large windows looking onto Bloor Street. Amazing hotel. friendly staff and welcomed with fancy chocolates and nice glass bottle of water in the room.....Well it seemed pretty romantic, but I was there for business but I chose this place for being close to downtown and all the places i wanted to walk to and see. It it delivered all that and more.
Enjoyed my stay and would definitely stay again.
This hotel definitely deserves its four stars.
My mom was visiting me for 3 nights and decided to stay here. I know she was initially quiet nervous because her experiences at the InterCon in Downtown have been less than enjoyable. But this was a real turn-around from the other location!
The furniture in the room was classic yet modern. It looks like they've done a reno in the last five years...

great service from the staff. comfortable bed ,new t. v. we were able to walk around and do some sightseeeing.
Completely disappointed! I couldn't even complete the review form because my appropriate description would not pass the "filter". Strange, since I could barely understand the accent of those trying to help me. But the hotel was the worst experience due to complete lack of responsiveness. They took the money for the complete stay, but would not discuss refund with me directly, nor would they... more
Very surprised by the 4 star plaque hanging behind the front desk.
Upon arrival was told we were upgraded to Deluxe room. Never did figure out the difference between deluxe and standard. Only had 1 bathrobe in room and 2 bath towels. I would think 4 towels would be standard in any hotel room.

this hotel has very funny smell, and amenities are extremely old. And they have those poor front desk with arrogant manner. Never choose this hotel!
As a first time visitor, my friend, who has lived there for many years recommened the Yorkville area and specifically this hotel. It's around the corner from many more expensive 5 star hotels, but provides the same level of service and luxury. The bedding was luxurious, the beds were comfortable, the rooms were immaculate and the service was excellent. I'm a seasoned traveler with sophisticated... more
Staying at this place while in town for a conference. High quality place? HAH!
Ummmmm there is black mold in the shower! All over! EW! I was completely blown away when I found black mold all throughout the shower. Shouldn't hotel showers get cleaned multiple times a week. Gross.
The bed had no sheets. What's up with that?!? If you enjoy no sheets and think blankets wrapped in paper towels is...

Excellent location and very pleasant staff. Lobby is worn and someone has a very heavy hand with the air freshener, which always makes one wonder. Room was spacious with large flat screen TV. I could not get the temperature below 23, which I found too warm, and I could not figure out the coffee machine, but otherwise all fine. No terry robes. Overall it was good value for $200.
Having stayed at a gazillion of Intercontinental hotels worldwide (thanks to the friends and family discount) expectations were high. Unfortunately I was slightly disappointed with how old and ordinary the hotel was.
The lobby was small and unimpressive, the hotel restaurant looked depressingly empty the entire time we were there, and the corridors were in need of a touch up (not a major...

High quality establishment with cleanliness and layout as key benefits. Lobby was nice and well appointed. Service in lobby (including doormen) was excellent and always on guard. The concierge was decent, but unfortunately lacked that superior insight on the sights... more
After staying at the Marriot further down on Bloor St. many times... This Holiday Inn was like a bad Hostel!!! Small cramped rooms (not so clean), old 27" tube TV's, dirty windows, difficult to access WI-FI internet connections, and only two computers/ printers in the lobby (always occupied)! Never again.
This is a beautiful hotel with amazing bed, bathroom, decor. However, what annoys me about such hotels is the way they seek to make money on things which are inclusive in less expensive hotels, namely wifi ($19 for 48hours) and breakfast.
I visit Toronto every year and each year i like to try a new hotel in the heart of the city to ensure maximum enjoyment and minimize any commute. This was the first time i stayed at the Intercon and I give it an enthusiastic 2 thumbs up. I asked for a city view room and was overjoyed when the room overlooked the royal music academy and the ROM. The excellent service begins with the friendly... more
“Lovely room, spacious bathroom, friendly staff. Nice bar lounge and good food.”
The staff is courteous and polite. The rooms are updated and clean. The bathrooms vary in size, but are always clean and well stocked. Problems, should they occur, are addressed in a timely and courteous manner. It is my "go to " hotel in Toronto.
-Great location - right on the main drag and a great assortment of shopping and restaurants within 5 minutes.
-Minutes away from the Stillwater Spa at the Park Hyatt which my wife enjoyed.
-The ROM is right across the street
-The room was decent but as a few others have noted, its quite odd to not have a flat screen in your room when 2011 is less then a month away.

Would definately recommend this hotel, excellent location, staff were very friendly and helpful, rooms excellent and very clean. The pool and gym were a bonus. Our expectations were met, very good value for money would stay there again.
I took a walking tour of the area. The area I stayed in is a very young and vibrant area. The University of Toronto is in the area with a beautiful campus.
Stayed at the InterContinental Yorkville with two other friends and it could not of been a better stay. We arrived very late in the night due to weather issues and the staff had everything ready for us. They were very friendly and professional and really knew the city very well.
The room was huge, but so was the bathroom. The shower also had the best water pressure I've ever had at a hotel....

“The hotel was a boutique style hotel with smaller rooms. It was very hot in Toronto, and the A/C was not very strong in our room resulting in very warm conditions and hot nights. Sleeping was uncomfortable. The hotel let me look at another room, but it was the same story. For a deluxe hotel, the A/C should work. The concierge was incredible. Very helpful and lovely. Super hotel. Right beside a major subway station and across from the Royal Ontario Museum. Great Asian areas and restaurants down the street to the West, vibrant Yonge street to the East, upscale shopping in Yorkville to the North and Queen's Park to the South. “This hotel was located very conveniently to the subway system and to the ROM museum and to all the high end shops on Bloor. I like wireless Internet which was not available, but Starbucks is just down the street.”
We are an older couple who went to Toronto for a family affair (not at the hotel). We arrived about 2pm, the room wasn't ready and we were offered an upgrade from the Standard room with two beds that was part of our package to a Deluxe room with king-size bed and a sofa and slightly more room for $35 per night extra. Stayed at the Intercontinental on Bloor Street for my last two trips to Toronto and loved it.
The dining room opens up onto a nice garden terraced patio, with heaps of sunlight.

“BEAUTIFUL! Attention to detail throughout. REAL glass and porcelain in rooms. Even had glass wine glasses, corkscrew!”
Decent hotel, and is central to everything in Toronto. Staff is friendly and the rooms are nicely furnished. Noise level is fairly high and the accomodations are a bit pricey for the service level. Hotel lists WIFI and Internet service as an amenity however WIFI was spotty at best and they charge 11.00 a day for it. It should not be listed as an amenity if you are charging for it. Most... more
I am a frequent traveler who stays quite often at the Holiday Inn & Intercontinental chain. The Intercontinental on Bloor is a decent hotel to stay at but by no means the best Intercontinental that I have stayed at. A brilliant hotel! So comfortable and in an amazing location - close to shops, university district and the energy of bloor & younge area. The most comfortable beds we've ever stayed in and lots of facilities incl gym and swimming pool!
Beautiful hotel. Convenient location for shopping in the Yorkville area and I had an incredible, close up view of the ROM. Great service, helpful staff, spotless room, and comfortable bed. I've stayed twice and will return!
Hotel location was amazing and the service was great. The only problem was that there is an outdoor club in the hotel and it can get noisy for guests who are on the same side.
Was there for a wedding and concierge service was great as well as front desk personnel
“Stayed there for 4 nights. I arrived at the hotel early thinking staff would be helpful to give me a room. Do not expect 5 star service. The room I was given was a courtyard view on the lowest floor possible. There were stains on the carpet and on the sides of the bed as well. The room did not smell fresh.”
“Fantastic hotel located in the trendy and upscale neighborhood of Yorktown. The staff was friendly and very helpful. Easy to get around by public transportation or by foot. The pool is only a lap pool so if you are looking for a big splash area this may not be for you.”
“The hotel was located in a very safe part of town the room was attractive and clean. The negatives were the poor performance of the ac,and the charges for Internet and parking.”
Above and beyond service at the InterCont. I'll get to that after I rave on the other features.
- Convenient to Yorkville -- all the restaurants and shops within a 5 min walk.

“Great location in a trendy neighborhood; easy access to subway; all the high end shops are doors away.”
“Upon arrival had to scurry out of the car as there was a line up behind us, room wasn't ready and upon departure it took a long time for our car to arrive, considering 35 for parking. The room was well presented and appeared clean.”

location super, service of front desk and bellman also great Rooms very comftable and cleanliness was first class . We did not have any meals at the hotel so no comments. We did miss our plane and arrived a day late but the hotel would not or could not extend our stay for the lost night unfortunatly, overall we would return
For our second Toronto trip we chose to stay in upscale Yorkville. The hotel was terrific and the location could not have been more convenient. The ROM is directly accross the street and may excellent cafes are in the upscale neighborhood behind the hotel.
“Very good time spent there. Would definitely return. Fast check in and check out.”
I wouldn't call it uber-luxury, but it's a very decent, servicable business traveller hotel located in downtown TO. Meaning it's kewl if you're there on business or to attend an event in Rogers Centre, but kinda blah if you're in TO for fun.

The pool was also good seeing, it was on the rooftop with lawn chairs. It is a very nice hotel and I would recommend it to everyone.”
“Excellent hotel in good location. Very clean, comfortable, spacious and modern rooms. Staff appear friendly and would definitely stay there again.”
I only spent one night here, but it was quite pleasant!
We booked on Priceline and were happily surprised to find that our room had been upgraded for free due to lack of availability. “This hotel has a dark feeling. Simply because there is not enough lighting throughout. The staff was helpful and friendly and kind. “A great location in the heart of Yorkville, close to shopping, museums, University of Toronto. The room was large and extremely comfortable with a feather bed and down pillows. Room service was quick and the food was excellent. I was sorry to have to leave.”

“I enjoyed my stay there. The hotel did not offer a lot of amenities. I was charged for the coffee bags that I used. Other hotels do not charge for such bags. At three dollars a bag, it adds up very fast.”
“The location isn't that great, but the room is above par. So if you want a great room and don't care about the location then this is the hotel for you.”
“Excellent location, delightful outdoor dining with an imaginative menu, extremely courteous and knowledgeable front of house staff. Housekeeping staff were charming and efficient.”
“Aspires to be a four-star hotel, but really isn't. Needs refurnishing. Room badly designed. For example, TV can't be easily viewed from bed. Free newspapers delivered to room. Marvelous location, right by subway station serving both the blue and yellow lines and many fine stores, theaters. Internet cost C$15 per day.”
“This hotel was excellent for the price we paid. The only bad thing is I would prefer to stay in more of a downtown location in Toronto by many of the things we wanted to do. Everyone made us feel like a king & queen.”
“HOtel was great - very good room, pool, sauna. Staff was very friendly. I would reccomend to anybody. Very comfortable bed, a lot of space in the room and bathroom. GO and stay there - you will love it.”
“Very pleasant hotel, enjoying a good location. Provides excellent, friendly service. Only negative was the expense of travelling to and from the airport, as there is no shuttle. Around the corner are two other major hotels, so they should cooperate to provide a less expensive alternative to and from the airport.”
“We had an excellent experience at this hotel. The staff was very helpful and friendly. It was very clean and family friendly.”
“We really enjoyed our stay at the Intercontinental & would be delighted to stay there again. It is close to the transit system and a short ride to anywhere. “The hotel is lovely and very convenient for shopping. However, when I am in Toronto, I have a very busy work schedule and prefer to be in the business district. ”
“The front street Intercontinental Toronto has a most convienient location near Union Station and the Bluejay's Stadium with a view of CN Tower. The architectual style is stunningly modern with state of the art rooms and amenities.”
“Second stay at the Intercontinental in Toronto, very pleased.”
“Excellent location. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in...better than my bed at home. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was probably a 3.5 Star hotel, rather than the 4 Stars.”
“Staff was very competent and friendly. Wanted to make our stay as best as it could be.”
