Hotel next to river

Some of the furniture were updated but not all, carpet in room and hall way were stained and worn. Air conditioner was noisy when running. On the other hand, lobby was nice and clean but that didn't help on my comfort. Parking was private garage with $10 surcharge per day. Very nice hotel. We found it quiet and comfortable

Great restaurant on site, great food good service. Staff were very helpful when I could not find how to turn off the AC, they came and did it for us. The lounge area was bright and cheerful. I also liked there small gym room, which I used everyday while we were there. Will go back if and when we need a hotel in the area.

Hotel sits over the fraser river in new west... Everything a short walk away.. Next door restuarants shopping.. Across the bridge the mall shopping etc.. Close drive to vancouver... Nice Hotel, cleanish rooms beautiful view.

This hotel was modern, comfortable and for the most part the rooms were clean. The view from our room was gorgeous. We had three meals at the hotel's surrounding restaurants and all of them were great.

Great location

We enjoyed our room on the 7th floor looking out at the water and watching the boats, etc. also there was a liveliness to the area as people are out enjoying the boardwalk and the nearby restaurants, market, etc.

Beautiful Hotel - great location!

The Inn at the Quay is a great hotel. Fitness Centre is small, but adequate. Staff are very accommodating. Good amenities nearby.

I was not at the hotel for pleasure but the hotel staff made me feel so welcomed and reassured. It is convenient for the hospital in New Westminster and had restaurants near by. My only complaint would be the train, CN train drivers need to learn to only blow their horn once after dark!

Noisiest hotel. Sleep impossible!

Trains go by hotel every 2 hours all night long. However that isn't the bad part, the bad part is that they blow their horn 5 times each 2 hours and it sounds like they are in the room with you. Glasses on the night table shake. The desk clerk agreed they were very noisy, but said it was too bad and refused a refund. Do not stay here if you want to sleep!

Birthday Celebration!

We had a family re-union to celebrate our mom's 90th birthday. This hotel was central for all to come from Alberta and Kelowna. We had a great time as we had 5 rooms all across from each other.

Good overall experience and nice view of the water

Check in was quick, parking in the parkade was convenient. The area around New West and the Quay isn't as vibrant as it used to be with shopping and people, but its still a nice little pocket community to stay for a night or two.

I liked the hotel, it was close to the Fraser River and the Skytrain. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that the rooms in the hotel didn't have a safe in the room.

Nice hotel, with good view of the water.

The hotel is nice, kept clean and our room had a nice view of the water and the boardwalk. Only real disappointment for me, was the in room refrigerator was too small and no freezer.

Very accessible

Everything about the hotel experience was easy, in that we arrived early and were able to park before the check-in time. I was attending a conference with a colleague so that was very helpful. The staff was always pleasant and accommodating.

Great Hotel and fantastic stay. Comfortable, home away from home! One elevator was down for repair work which did require a wait at times, but not too much trouble.

Beautiful location

We have stayed here once before and all was so great we chose to stay again. We will always stay there when we travel that way. The staff go out of their way to help you. Delightful Discovery on the River

Have not really ever spent much time in New Westminster and this hotel was a little hidden gem. Right on the River with easy access to all kinds of restaurants and shopping, everything about the hotel was a bonus.

Basic and not clean

Disappointed with dirty mirrors, cloudy window, stains on counter, dirty kleenex in the bathroom garbage, pleasant staff but no enthusiasm, basic stay with poor amenities, needs some renovation. Parking at night was a little scary because it is underground but open to the public with no visible security.

Excellent except for one elevator was out if order

Excellent except for the elevators. One out of order and the other had a mind of its own and took too long.

good place to stay with good surrundings

We had to attend a wedding in Surrey and this hotel was the best option with very beautiful surroundings. There are couple of restaurants by walking distance with good seafood. our room had beautiful view and quiet. the cleanliness of hotel is acceptable. very close to subway station. we enjoyed our stay and pleased with friendly staff.

Noisy if you are facing the pub

Some night are noisy if you facing the pub but in the mean time you facing the river and the board walk so if you like actions it's a place to be. Located by the train track as well wish is very annoying.

Lovely hotel

We really enjoyed our stay.Lovely room with a view.The bar next door can get noisy but we put the air conditioner on and blocked the sound.The room was very clean.I appreciated the exercise room with a view.We did get there on August 15th at 3:45 and had to wait around for our room to be ready.Other than that I would recommend this hotel.

We stayed for four nights… paid a pretty penny too only to find out we still had to pay 10 bucks a day for parking! Nice location, helpful staff but

Would have rated this hotel a bit higher. It is in a great location with plenty of restaurants and shopping. Here's my only 'beef'.
The housekeeper, wearing gloves, made up the room then proceeded to wash the glassware in the bathroom sink! That was bad enough but she never changed gloves. Probably not the most sanitary place to wash glassware.... more

Very good- - - BUT

Get an even-numbered room.
The odd-numbered ones overlook a pub with outdoor seating. I was kept awake until 2 a.m.
The clerk was very helpful, he moved me to a nice quiet even-numbered room for the next night.
Great views of the Mighty Fraser River, clean comfy rooms and a long riverside boardwalk. All good!

Neat but cramped

Lots of parking (paid though), central location, riverside... all positives. But the Queen bed somehow seemed a bit on the smaller side though, and in general the room was quite small. OK for a one-nighter I guess.

Great hotel near skytrain

I stayed here in June for a couple nights while working in Surrey. Clean, near all amenities including sky train. Customer service is great and I love the location on the river. I live on the Fraser 500kms upstream so any noises from rail (minimal) was like home.

LOST an very sentimental item during our stay

We stayed at the hotel for two nights. July 17 & 18th. We have lost a pocket watch that was either left in the room after we checked out or was dropped off the luggage cart in the hallway, elevator or front of the hotel lobby when we were loading our car. Stayed there for 5 nights on a business / leisure trip. The room was clean and spacious with a balcony facing the setting sun. A couple of minutes walk to the sky train station. The attached restaurant has a good menu and friendly waiting staff.

Home away from home

We go to the Inn 2 or 3 times a year for a brief getaway and are never disappointed. The rooms are very attractive and spacious. The little balcony affords a delightful view down river and the marine traffic entertains continually. The staff, especially Michelle the asst manager,go out of their way to ensure you are satisfied.

...but if you are a light sleeper, the local railyard may pose a problem. I find I sleep through any activity anyway, the beds are just that comfortable. I've been staying here for over a decade because this is an excellent property

I love this property. It has been one of my favorite properties in North America for over 10 years. It has great views from every room of the river. There is always something to see. Enjoying a bottle of wine overlooking the working tugs, log booms, auto carrier ships, barges provides unending entertainment from your own private balcony.

Stayed at Inn at the Quay recently and was very happy with the experience. Room was clean, comfortable and modern, staff were friendly and more than helpful with any queries we had in regards to directions and local attractions. We also ate breakfast at the hotels restaurant and were impressed with the size and quality- very delicious and affordable.

Comfortable waterfront

Nice views of the river from our king quay view room. A bit of noise from passing trains or boats but we did had the patio door open. Updated rooms, comfortable bed, spacious. Starbucks coffee in the room was a nice plus for the morning.
Would recommend and would not hesitate to stay again.

I stay at this hotel when on business in the lower mainland. I find this to be one of the nicer business stays in BC. Free Wifi, great service, great location, exceptional views of the river and river traffic.

We enjoyed our stay. The location was ideal. The bathroom toilets were quite small. For the price I expected at least a continental breakfast.We were not aware of amenities.. .other than Wi-Fi accessibility. Climate control was hard to figure out.I would liked to have given you more positives.
