The Chef's Sampler was excellent! The 4 different wines, one to match each course, was a thrilling experience.I marked Ambiance as good, but only because the table we were sitting beside had quite a bright light coming from an outcropping from the wall, pointing straight up. If I leaned to one side, I'd get it right in the eyes.

After all these years, it is still one of the best restaurants in Calgary - the food is exquisite!

Overall good food and service. The dessert took 25 minutes to come, and it was cold inside the restaurant. The warm bread and butter was a nice touch at the start of the meal.

Appetizer, main course and the wine were all absolutely amazing. Dessert wasn't anything special (creme brulee was a little bit grainy) but my beef tenderloin was a perfectly done medium rare, seared on the outside and cooked but pink and juicy on the inside.

Great experience, wonderful food. The service makes it stand out. Helpful without being pushy on the wine list and the food suggestions were spot on.

Great attention to detail to the food and excellent service, seldom found in Calgary. Patricia the manager really has it together with a delicious selection of dishes suited for all types. I always judge places by their Calamari and they nailed it, tender and tasteful, not over seasoned or overcooked. Put some time aside to enjoy one of Calgary's best. We will be back.

Very good food. Got full fast this visit. Thinking perhaps the portions are larger than I remember them being on my last visit. It was very enjoyable and we didn't feel rushed to leave even though we were leaving after closing time.

Not very impressed

I had high expectations after reading the other reviews. I was less than impressed. The prices did not reflect the quality of the food. Sent one dish back because it was overcooked. Overall- food was good, but I've had much better for less. Nice atmosphere. Probably won't be going back.

First Time at Il Sogno and we will defintely be back. The food was very good and the service top notch.

I was really impressed with the meal I had last night there. Everything from the wine to the meal was absolutely amazing. As I'm a chef as well I haven't had a meal that good since New York City.

When you're paying the same prices as a place like Capo, you'd expect the same level of quality and service and unfortunately this isn't the case. The food is good, just not perfection. The service is decent, but the night we went there was one server for the entire restaurant. Not that it was bad service, but compared to other places charging $90 for a tasting menu, it wasn't all that great.
