Negative: Noisy people above us made stay almost unbearable; hotel staff not helpful. Poor noise insulation in building. Construction in adjoining rooms during the day without warning very noisy.
Great Service, great location, great view! I would definitely recommend this hotel. We enjoyed the pool, and staff were very helpful, gave us a late checkout. Didn't visit the restaurants so I cant comment on that. The only problem would have been the slow elevators. The hotel was really busy so it took forever to get an elevator. Room was very comfortable, and did I mention the view was awesome?
Rooms are very noisy. Can hear hallway and the tv next door.
They charge for internet access (who does that any more?). Food over-priced. Pushed high-price add-ons. Poor lighting in room. Noise from hallway. Had to beg for ice. Maid did not replace consumables. Sadly, perfect location.
Amazing staff. Right beside sky train station and a short walk away from Robson street.
My husband & I stayed two nights over New Year's Eve. We had a fantastic time. The view was great! The rooms were very modern and stylish. In fact, we took pictures of the bathroom to get ideas on remodeling our own bathroom at home. The Hyatt was walking distance to everything! There is a Starbucks in the lobby. A Tim Horton's & McDonald's right next door open 24 hours. It was right next to... more
My room was clean, with a very comfortable bed, and best of all, had a beautiful view of downtown. And the staff was excellent. What I loved most about this hotel was the location! I arrived in Vancouver by train, took a short walk to the Skytrain, and arrived within a few minutes at a station which is below the shopping complex that attaches to the hotel. I can also confirm the convenience of... more
Ideal location for business traveler. Many restaurants close. Hotel has excellent and fast breakfast
Stayed here Sept 25th-30th for work. Hotel is overpriced in my opionion but so is every other hotel Downtown Vancouver. The room was quaint (small) but very modern in decor which I liked (not the size of the room). Issues I took was I could hear next door neighbour talking every day, walls seem to be very thin! TV remote... more
We stayed for the weekend at the Hyatt in Vancouver BC, Canada. Though the weather outside was cold the staff was warm and welcoming. Our room was a large suite with a balconey. Unfortunately, it was too cold and rainy to spend time out on it, we enjoyed the view. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom large and accomadating,... more
As a Diamond member I was upgraded to a room on the 30th floor. The regency lounge offers a great selection even in it's temporary home. Others have complained of hearing neighbors but I didn't have any issues- Had a sound sleep. Rooms are modern and clean. Only issue I found was the chaotic lobby amd check-in process that took... more
Hi, this is my first review! Good pleasant stay on Canada's thanksgiving 2011. Good quality, nice room, and kind staff. Also is located on downtown in one of the best areas, close to Stanley park, Vancouver Art gallery and subway station. There's also a good pass through directly from the hotel to get to the adjacent Mall.

A nice clean hotel, the staff were somewhat helpful. Nothing exciting.
We stayed for 4 days at the Hyatt Regency and were happy with the room and the hotel. We had a corner room on the 12th floor that offered great views of the city. The room was comfortable with a large bathroom. The location of the hotel is perfect-right downtown. Steps away from everything. Will book there again next time... more
We stayed at the Hyatt for two nights - one night either side of week skiing at Whistler. We chose this hotel as it is the downtown pickup and drop-off point for the coach transfer to Whistler - this is very convenient.
The hotel itself is fine. It it located on Burrard street (good central location) has been recently renovated...

Listen, Hyatt Regency, I like you... but you have to get it together! I am a top-level Hyatt customer, meaning I'm supposed to get free WiFi among other perks. But what a hassle! I had to call the IT company involved with Hyatt, and go through a lengthy process to register my IP address in order to get our comp... more
I didn't get to stay here this time, but it's a fine place for a conference. Here's why:-huge meeting rooms-reasonably clean and private bathrooms-quick elevator service-friendly concierge, front end staff and cleaning people.-easy access to parking-starbucks that's convenient and easy-enclosed mall open on weekends for fast food and pharmacy (okay, it needs some better choices, but still). I... more
Always stay here when I'm in town for work and the lobby has a Starbucks. Self check-in kiosks take less than a couple of minutes so you can relax in your room. The elevators have been redesigned to be more efficient as it directs to an elevator that will take you to your floor. Convenient in the downtown area where it's busy and bustling.
Super soft bed, killer city views and the SkyTrain connects you to the city right outside the front door. Even better, there is a 24-hour Tim Hortons adjacent to the lobby. The price is reasonable as well and the hotel catering was exceptional.
does that any more?). Food over-priced. Pushed high-price add-ons. Poor lighting in room. Noise from hallway. Had to beg for ice. Maid did not replace consumables. Sadly, perfect location.
I have stayed here a few times with my husband and it is a really great solid hotel. This stay we had a party room next to ours and missed out on a good night's sleep. Staff were called 3 times but the party continued all night.
We were on our honeymoon and the experience couldn't be better. The staff was very helpful and the location was perfect. We were able to walk all over town without being more than 15min from the Hyatt.
The Hyatt is fantastically located in the center of downtown with easy assess to and from the main freeways and airport. The staff were very helpful and kind with plenty of directions. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and we all know how important that is. Their dinning facility was nice but breakfast was a little pricey. Overall I'd stay there again and again.
We were based here over the New Year's holiday period, chosen primarily because of an incredible price for a regular room. The hotel was exceptionally busy with a Catholic Youth conference (not the reason we were there) and lots of holiday travellers. The hotel is in the midst of renovations (pool closed) and there was construction in the lobby. Despite... more
for this type of middle to high end business hotel, they should provide the in room internet service for free.
Right next to the Burrad sky train station. Very close to downtown attractions. There is a McDonalds and Tim Horton's next door and they're open 24 hours. The rooms were newly renovated and were very clean. It was a shame that the pool/fitness center was closed for renovation. They charge $9 to $15 for wifi. Overall a very pleasant stay.

It is a Hyatt Regency. There is certain expectation. The lobby was busy with the holiday gingerhouse display. Then there is a Starbucks on the side. The elevator was old and in the process of being refurbished. The rooms were clean and large, but nothing really to write home about. A standard clean hotel room with whatever you expect, just a little less. The restaurant, Mosaic, is relatively... more
I had a complaint about room phone charges after a recent stay and the hotel staff were great. They resolved my complaint quickly and in a very courteous manner. Thank you Hyatt
I was charged $100.12 for seven calls totalling less than 15 minutes combined to Vancouver Island. Needless to say I am not happy over such a hideous rip-off and I will never stay at the Hyatt again. I expected a charge and probably would have paid $50.00 with no more than a grimace but $100.12 was absolutely to much of a rip off. One call went to an answering machine and lasted no more than 30... more
The hotel and the room were very nice, comfortable beds, the room is more modern than most. I would recommend it , though there were two things that should be mentioned. First, internet service in the room runs $10 a day. Not a lot of money, but for the price of the room, this should have been included, no need to nickle and dime customers. The other item was that the temperature of the room... more
I've always been a Westin man and if a man can't be loyal then what is he really worth. But every once in a while, chip fall in such a way that to not drift wayward would be a disservice to....mankind? No, that's too dramatic. To yelp? Ok, we will go with that. The Hyatt regency presented me with one such opportunity last weekend. I got a great deal on Priceline for Friday and Saturday... more
This hotel is AWESOME! Prime location, great price, beautiful rooms, and clean. We stayed here for a ball and got an impressive room block price of $150 per night. The parking was advertised as being $30 something a night but somehow when we left, were only charged $28 for 2 nights. I'll take it!The hotel is smack in the middle of downtown Vancouver and everything is about a 10/15 minute drive... more
Beautiful hotel in a great location for downtown Vancouver! I placed a bid on PriceLine and received a terrific price. For those who stay during the weekend, use the gate parking and it is $8 from 6p.m.-6a.m. on Saturday, then $4 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, and $2 per hour each hour after.I agree with the other reviewers who say it's a little noisy. I stayed on the 11th floor and could... more
The hotel was great, room just gorgeous, bed fantastic. A very sophisticated charcoal and white room. Walk to lots of restaurants and shopping. Only downside was that the Hyatt charged $15/day for Internet access (who does that anymore???) and a whopping $37/day for parking. We were still glad that we had a car to drive up to Whistler and to Stanley park. We would get a smaller car next time... more
If you want an awesome view of Vancouver downtown, this is a good location. We recently went up to Canada for a long weekend and this was the first hotel. I stayed at the Hyatt for a conference in August, 2011. The hotel was very clean, the room was exceptional, the food and bar were excellent if slightly expensive (typical for large hotel). However, it was the staff who really made the... more
This is a beautiful hotel and a great location for walking around downtown Vancouver. We were really disappointed with the sound quality in the hotel. They weren't being overly loud; they were having normal conversation or watching TV at a reasonable volume. The walls are paper thin; it was like... more
Stayed at the Hyatt for an evening, and it was very spacious. Modern, and elegant, with a touch of luxury. I am a fan of the hotel because it was close by to all the amenities in Downtown Vancouver. Our trip to Vancouver was a last minute one as we were picking a friend up from NZ who flew into Vancouver instead of Seattle. It was really a fantastic hotel, friendly and cool staff, wonderful location, close to the best places for shopping, resturants, and key transportation areas. Just there was charges for everything even domestic phone call that i've never seen this before that i think it is due to high expense of almost everything else in the city. Anyway, i am thinking to go back there for at least one more time.
Was visiting on a conference. Room was clean, staff was friendly and helpful. Overall, it was a good experience.
Staying at the Hyatt Regency was just the perfect end of each of our perfect days of vacation in Vancouver. Such a beautiful location, down the road from Canada Place and across the street from Christ Church. ... more

We had a great experience with the Hyatt Regency Vancouver! Everyone from the Bellmen to the Front Desk to the Concierge was friendly, helpful and professional. My girlfriend's parents came into town and they needed a place to stay. The Hyatt offered a great rate and we booked a room. The rooms have been updated with modern furnishings. Overall a pretty good place to stay in the downtown core.
3.5 stars, I was a little nervous after reading the Yelp reviews before even heading to Vancouver because everyone was saying that it didn't deserve the 4 star rating that it's given on websites, which I believe is true, but It's not that bad at all. The hotel wasn't that old feeling like some yelpers had said, I thought it had a pretty modern look to it and it felt clean to me. The ceiling... more
I visited Vancouver for a coference and stayed in the Hyatt Regency which is located right in the heart of the downtown. This is a really great hotel, with top class service. Every single person I encountered -- from the concierge to the front desk -- was fantastic. Wonderful hotel and wonderful location right in downtown. Shops, restaurants very close by, as well as transportation to other locations in Vancouver. Staff was friendly and helpful, gym and pool were very nice, rooms were comfortable with great views. It doesn't get any better than this! Thank you for the great stay.
Very good hotel, pleasant, polite and helpful staff.Excellent location in the middle of downtown with a variety of great restaurants and shopping literally within a very short walk.Less expensive or inclusive internet access would have left me without any complaint.
Writing on hotels is always tough to keep it in a perspective of the average guest. However as a frequent guest of either a specific chain or hotel you start to notice certain things the regular traveler will not see and also after a while you are entitled to various benefits like club access.Even though the hotel is here in my own town, if there is a work meeting then even the locals are... more
The very best hotel in Vancouver. Excellent service and staff. Great dining especially the breakfeast buffet. Very clean and comfortable room.
Have stayed here many times and keep coming back for the convenient location, easy self parking and comfortable rooms. Had a nice dinner at Mosaic and some drinks at the Gallery Bar and Mosaic Bar. Good food and friendly service all around. Only negative is the $15 charge per day for internet....ridiculous for something easily provided for free.
Hotel help excellent
Had a very nice stay at a suite on the 26th floor...a room with a view. It would brighten up even the gloomiest of the days. I can't think of a better location. Had breakfast at the Mosaic restaurant on the 2nd floor and it was really good
The room was always nicely cleaned up, all staff very courteous and accommodating. There was plenty of advance warning for a late night power outage (due to maintenance work), and they even provided glow sticks - how fun!
Love this Hotel. Everything is very modern and new feeling inside. From the lobby to the rooms, very nice. Stayed here twice now. Reasonably priced, no complaints. LOVED THE BED! Kick a**hotel. We got a killer deal on it for the New Year's. Only $130/night including breakfast (but then they charge like a 15% tax -- so it came out to about $150/night total). The bathroom was modern too with nice stone work and a cool shower. ... more

Pros: Location is A+, close to restos/bars, shopping, SkyTrain, waterfront. Rooms are newly remodeled (be sure to ask for one with a balcony!) Outstanding location and central to everything we wanted to do. Some issues with being put up in a "hospitality room" with a wafer thin sofa bed with rails in your back the first night that was challenging. But moved to a regular room the rest of the week which was as expected - a nice room. Thought we would have been compensated a little bit but the staff was great.
It's a standard Hyatt, well located downtown. I worked there briefly when I was in college, before discovering I could do better as a bartender than a bellhop.
The initial room assigned had a strong musky smell, and I asked for another room, which was much better. Overall, a nice experience at the hotel. Close to the convention center and the waterfront. The hotel had an umbrella available in the room for the guest's use during the stay, which was a nice touch for a city like Vancouver.
I've stayed in Hyatt at various locations in US and Asia. The Hyatt at Vancouver is nowhere near to the Hyatt I normally know: clean, classy, good service. This Hyatt is among the worst hotels I've stayed in. The building and amenities are old and looking like stingy motel instead of the classy Hyatt I normally know. There is zero noise cancellation. You can hear your next-door guest and... more

We stayed in this hotel for our honey-moon. The experience was absolutely great except for one little thing which, unfortunately, I consider to be the cardinal sin in the hospitality industry:When we got to the room and pulled back the sheet, there was clearly an unwashed stain on the bed and a few body hairs, plus one that was, well, short, dark, and very curly. The bell-hop came up, examined... more

You definitely cannot beat the location of this hotel. Shopping, waterfront and proximity to Canada Line/Rail and Seabus were well within walking distance. My business travel normally has me staying at Four Seasons, Fairmont, Ritz Carlton, etc. That being said, what I'm looking for in hotel are a few simple factors:1. Great bed2. Good location3. I don't think you should necessarily change your honeymoon plans based on... more
Hyatt Regency Vancouver is a pretty nice hotel in a good downtown location. As folks have noted, parking is pricey and they do charge for internet, but that tends to come with the territory for large downtown hotels. Just perfect location. Everything was near by. Friendly staff.
Overall, we had a great time in Vancouver. The hotel was very centrally located; easy to walk to any neighborhood in downtown Vancouver. I would definitely stay here again!
We were in Vancouver for a wedding celebration. The Hyatt is the best hotel for us in this trip since all the events of this wedding were held around it. And did some shopping around the neighborhood. The staff at the front... more

The staff was fiendly and helpful; very plesaant. But the Hyatt has extra fees for Internet and other services which are quite high consideriing the price of the rooms; definitely aimed at business pepople traveling on expense accounts.
It was fine. People were friendly and helpful. Would have been better if it hadn't been over the BC Day weekend, but the hotel can't help that.
The location was perfect for a first time visitor to Vancouver since it was in walking distance to many tourist spots and a major public transportation stop was across the street from the hotel. The room was a little small but was perfectly clean, the bed was very comfortable and the hotel staff was... more
We were treated as special guests on the 30th floor of this exquisite newly renovated hotel. Quiet beautiful room - with a gorgeous view of downtown. Outstanding gym - the hotel staff even found a personal trainer for me when I requested one. We were able to walk everywhere from this location.
The central location and access to tour busses made it easy to visit all the sights on our list.
Like everyone has said the location is excellent. The modern feel of the room and the view of downtown was great. The $38 parking fee and no free WiFi stinks. Everything was perfect except there was noisy from bathroom because of cold water line was leaking. I called the frontdesk and they fixed it right away.one more thing i want to metion about is its location, it was the middle of downtown and i can go anywhere by walking.
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Location was very convinient. Close to train station, shopping, place to eat. I would love to go back to hyatt at this location again.
Hotel was fine, but not spectacular. Partly my experience was colored by desire to be at hotel with views, several of which were nearby.
I've only stayed at a Hyatt one other time for a firm training, and it wasn't half bad, so when I did the "name your own price" thing on Priceline and got the Hyatt, I thought it would be alright. Boy was I wrong.Parking is outrageous. $28/day PLUS $10/day in taxes. Nowhere did it say there was a tax on parking.Check-in took a ridiculously long time because the two front desk staff had to... more
Perfect location for experiencing Vancouver. Hotel staff was most helpful when we discovered that we had arrived with someone elses' luggage. If ever in Vancouver again, we would certainly consider staying there.

I stayed here for a couple of days. I can't speak much to the "value" per se as I had used Hyatt points to pay for the reservation. I must note (as others have said) that parking and internet are NOT included. Sadly this day in age, these supposed high-class hotels cater to a high-spending crowd or some nonsense. Even their business center isn't free! However the concierge is extremely helpful.... more
the hotel is in a great location, walking distance to the shopping area and restaurants. Rooms were spacious and modern, had flat screen tv, office space; and the bed was comfy. I stayed here for a week in June, 2008. This hotel is in a great location and central to nearly everything downtown, as well as public transit to get you elsewhere. Rates aren't too bad (hey, it's a downtown area....what do you expect, seriously?) and the staff is very friendly.
Amazing location. The building outside looks drab but the inside is quite classy and luxurious. Also, they have the best showers at this hotel. The location is probably one of the best in downtown Vancouver, and it's extremely close to the SkyTrain and a Tim Horton's and right in the... more
This place looks fancy and everyone that works here was professional but since I frequently stay at Hyatts I reserved a standard non-smoking room with a King size bed but when I checked in they gave me a smoking room with king size bed and when I went downstairs to correct the room situation they gave me a non-smoking double bed instead of giving me an upgrade or comping me something because... more

It's rare that the opportunity arises for me to visit Vancouver--seems like it's once every two years or so--but when I have the chance, I jump on it. I love the town, the people, the weather, the character of the place--and while I could only stay overnight this time around, Priceline put me up at the Hyatt Regency.First impressions do count (to an extent), and so I was a bit alarmed when I... more
Prestige, flawless, immaculate, excellent are all words when I thought about Hyatt Hotel, NOT THIS ONE! I swear this place resembled so much of how great a business is, right before they go under! I recently had some visitors to the city and went over to check out their digs. I was pretty impressed with the Hyatt. There was a recent upgrade and now the rooms have flat screen TVs, modern art and pretty chic furnishings that sit atop dark carpeted floors. Rooms start around $179 per night. The downtown location is really prime for this hotel. You're right near the Skytrain and B-line bus... more
Hyatt Regency is all about location, location, location. The corporate luxury is a ZOMG perk. Just recently renovated, the hotel was paid for by my BF's Gold Passport points (free stay equals awesome!) and we stayed in Hyatt's premiere King bedroom, outdoor balcony with breathtaking views included. Two blocks away from Robson Street (the premiere shopping avenue) and 7+ blocks away from... more
Stayed in a renovated room. They were still in the process of renovating all the rooms when we stayed. Very nice upgrades to the room and bathrooms. A very modern renovation and look. Within walking distance to many sites and restaurants. I ordered room service (very late) and was delighted at the service and food.
I wish I could give this place 3 1/2 stars, but to be conservative I'll stick with 3.To be honest, this place could very well be a 4 or 4 1/2 star hotel but one single thing ruined it for me (which I'll get to later). We got a great deal on Priceline, and the hotel is wonderfully appointed. Modern, technologically advanced with self check-in & check-out kiosks. Outstanding location, amenties,... more
The rooms seemed recently refurbished. Very spacious and attractive. Great shower in the bathroom! Good views from high floors. Service excellent. Concierge Desk was particularly helpful. No restaurant on Sunday afternoon a problem. Our expectations were generally met.
My colleague and I were very impress with the Hyatt. They were accommodating when I had to add an extra person to the room. I liked the fact that you could use the internet in the business center, free of charge. Our beds were super comfy. We got the room at a great bargain.
The Hyatt has lovely rooms, good amenities and all the people that work there are exceptionally nice and friendly. The one thing that I really didn't like is the fact that they charge you for each and every little thing possible. In this day and age any decent hotel should have free wireless in your room (13.99$ a day) and worse coffee provided free in the room, then I' ve had at many a Days... more
First time staying in the renovated rooms and I really like the decor. Nice modern furnishings and very comfortable bed. Found the self parking convenient with in/out privileges and liked the ground floor lounge and 2nd level bar/restaurant. Great location within walking distance of just about anywhere downtown. Definitely would stay there again.
