On the Gentle Island for business, grabbed a quick burger and beer at Hunters, good all round! Cheerful service, full plate of food well cooked and cold beer.
Only downfall was they didn't tell me about the Steak & Lobster special, till I heard my neighbour order it...... that would have been tempting....
Bring your appetite with you. Pub style, big servings, reasonable prices, friendly staff. The salad and soup bar are a nice feature and offer alot of value. A few dishes fall a little flat taste wise, but by enlarge, a great place to eat.
If you are hungry and do not want to spend a lot. This is the place to go.
Great prices and a lot of food.
Great food, large potions (especially potatoes).
Go for the nachos.
Steak and lobster $19.99
Great food and very cheap! their gluten-free menu is lacking though. I asked for everything on my nachos and they didn't put olives on it.
Great food and great drink menu. If you go upstairs it's a awesome lounge and at nights is a great party spot.
I'll be back
Had a great experience. Our server (Mere) was a total sweetheart, service is fast and portions are priced accordingly (huge portions, low prices).
We ended to coming on wing night ($0.25/wing!) and while the price was great, the wings were puny. Next time I'd go for the $0.40 option, but we were so hungry we just went with the price that was on the sign.
Overall, great time, good vibe. This...

This seems like a fun place to catch some live music. We were here for PEI Music Week so we went to a show at Hunters. Really fun.
Great service in a popular downtown location near the newspaper and power company office. This has been a favorite of ours for decades. The portions are always big but the food can be uneven. Grilled haddock was much too greasy but the baked potato was right on. She had the 6 oz. steak sandwich - the steak was good but not great. The mashed potatoes were old and not mashed. They replaced them... more
Best Cajun chicken nachos around. Haven't found anything in my hometown of Halifax, NS that can compare yet! Nice atmosphere, huge food portions and friendly service. Check it out!
Went there with friends last night for the 1st time, very good.
We found ourselves in downtown Charlottetown hungry and in need of a patio on a warm summer evening in July. Hunter's fit the bill in every single way.
The service was prompt and helpful and the food was absolutely perfect - both in portion size, value for the money spent and in flavour.
Be warned though - everything is "super sized" here :-)
Case in point: 1) my "large" draft beer could have...

A great Charlottetown watering hole. Service is second to none, when your beer is getting close to empty, your server (or another from nearby) will by to ask if you're ready for another. Very often a busy spot. Popular trivia on Thursdays, the same guy has been running it for years, and he's pretty good. There's beer and appetizers to be won. I've haven't had a meal there, only apps, but the... more
The staff work their butts off to make sure guests receive their food and drinks quickly. They also make sure your glass is is never empty.
The food is pretty good and the portions are massive.
You'll never leave Hunter's still hungry.
Hunter's sized portions are big big big. Food & Beer too with their 32 oz mugs.
This place was recommended to us by the front desk worker at our hotel (Rodd Charlottetown). We were intrigued because it wasn't actually one we had seen in our wanderings around town earlier that day. Well, it turned out to be a good choice, and apparently one that every other Charlottetowner (?) made that evening because it was super busy when we arrived. There was a group of 4-5 guys in... more
seafood chowder was good, now waiting for my sirloin. 72oz sirloin was really tempting, but need to practice first.
The hunters sirloin was cooked right, but still tasted just like any other meat that was grilled anywhere. Our server was not as attentive as we would've wanted. I was told to lower my expectations when I dine out.
This is the locals' local bar! I've tried their burger, wings and chicken fingers and while it wasn't awful, it can be a lot better.
The bar has reasonably priced beer and the atmosphere is really nice. It can get packed with locals for a live band on certain days.
This is the place to go if you you're starving and looking for huge portions of food and beer. I ordered the fried scallops and shrimp with mashed potatoes and expected maybe a mound or two of the spuds but got 4 scoops! My friend got the same so I knew they didn't make a mistake. The menu is very long, so the only problem here might be deciding what you'd like to eat. We took a long time to... more
