Excellent value, you get what you pay for. Loved the retro touches everywhere. Comfy beds, stylish accents and very clean.
Hotel Zed is exactly what it says it is! Colorful fun for all ages! Kids & adults will enjoy the fun lobby, ping pong, wii, in room comic books, hippie bus, neon lights, etc! Words cannot describe this place! Friendliest staff ever! Love love love this place! Will send everyone I know to this hotel! For those of you who are super picky, I will say the rooms are bedroom size and you can hear... more
Well appointed accoutrements and a nice job restoring an older motel while leaving the soul intact. Surprisingly quiet for being on Douglas, and very close to downtown. Stayed for 5 days, wish we had hit the pool more.
We have stayed in this hotel for a few years now and the improvements have just made it that much more enjoyable. Found the staff friendly and helpful and enjoyed some of the new ideas like the availability of the bikes to ride around the city and retro theme they presented. Very enjoyable.
Loved the color design, the interior design and friendlyness of the hotel. It is still a motel, but the presentation makes you feel like an 4 star hotel!
Alles war super, nettes Personal, und tolles Motto ("rebel against the ordinary")
Went into the room and it hadn't been cleaned from previous guest. Staff was efficient about solving the problem. Gave me an upgrade.
What a pleasant experience it was to travel back in time, but experience the benefits of what should be every hotel's aspirations for the future given their excellent customer service and attention to detail. I don't normally get excited about hotels as they are merely places to rest when I vacation, but this one stands out. Keep up the good work and outstanding customer service. The decor... more
The Hotel Zed is very retro intentionally, which at first looked old, then we realized that was the look. It was very clean, the had a very nice coffee bar in the lobby. Our room was extraordinarily small. We literally had no room for an open suitcase on the floor. This is an ideal place if you don't need any room to move around. We had a double bed and a desk chair and the desk was also your... more
Location was on a main street, with a shuttle to downtown area during the daytime in a micro VW bus. We used the shuttle 3 times. Excellent coffee in the lobby, Pool, Hot Tub, and a Ping Pong Lounge. Ate a few times in the neighborhood, which is nice to visit with the locals. We would go back for sure.
It was a lot of fun, the games room and waterslide were a big hit with the kids. If you have the time you can use the retro VW van for the complimentary shuttle service or borrow a bike.
Not a luxurious stay but good value for the money. The atmosphere makes for a very good overall experience.
Nice place to stay, though a bit pricey. Nice place to stay, though a bit pricey.
They liked the retro ambience and the comic books in the rooms and the Ping pong tables and the pool. Beds were comfortable. Fairly small Rooms but they had everything we needed. No A/C but there was a fan.
The hotel creates a nice environment with its colour and theme. Hotel staff good. However the room needs a bit of an upgrade such as the fans in the washroom, stove is a slow cooker and space is limited for four persons if sharing the room.
Our family enjoyed the colorful rooms, ping pong play room, pool and water slide, VW shuttle biz, and more! This hotel is all kinds of fun and it's affordable too. We will most definitely return!
We had so much fun here! The water slide was a blast. Made us feel like kids again. The hotel staff was so friendly and helpful with recommendations. Stan the shuttle driver was very knowledgeable and it's such a fun way to get downtown. My husband and I had an amazing time just the two of us. We will definitely be back with the kids!
Fun for all the family! Great decor, great pool and jacuzzi and slide. Excellent all round stay. Highly recommend.
Very attractive colors on the outside of the building and we were able to check in quickly. The inside was clean and had a little theme added to it but mostly felt like a normal hotel on the inside compared to the outside and lobby. The bathroom and bedroom could match their rebel against the normal theme a bit more to.
The staff at Hotel Zed are amazing people. They help give Canada a good reputation. They treat you like people not a number. They talk with a smile in their voice and have wonderful customer service skills. The cleanliness of this hotel was exceptional! The shuttle bus was fantastic! They have something for everyone: The free shuttle bus is a wonderful addition, the free bicycle's you can use... more

Hotel zed was perfect. A place I would imagine the Beatles to stay at! I loved my stay there and look forward to coming back in the future! Thank you!
the ambiance was perfect, the pool and waterslide was a childs dream come true.
I stayed at Hotel Zed for just one night with a few friends of mine. We stayed in one one of the suites and were extremely happy with the size, cooking area and just overall vibe of the room! The first thing that really stood out to me about the hotel though, was the exceptional service at the front desk! From check in to check out they were helpful, polite, professional and full of fun ideas... more
This hotel is well situated on the main street in Victoria. Right across the street is a major shopping centre and numerous buses servicing downtown. The staff was helpful in the lobby was comfortable which was a good thing because the room was extremely small. Next time I would upgrade to a one bedroom suite as the bachelor pad is too tight for two people.
It was okay, but had some flaws. No air conditioning, bad neighborhood, noisy street noise, Kid friendly, not so much for adults hoping for friendly some peace n quiet not so relaxing. Lots of the noise coming from the pool and the surrounding streets. No breakfast included, just coffee, tea n hot cocoa.
Hotel was fine for our overnight stay - clean, fairly comfortable and friendly staff. The drawback is the distance out of town. In the evening, there were only a few eating out options nearby.
Very pleasant stay at this hotel that offered us everything we needed for our overnight stay. Staff were cheerful and welcoming and our teenage boys had fun in the pool and water slide. Free transfer to downtown was very helpful.
Never tried the pool or hot tub. No a/c made it a little warm at night. All staff were great, in- lobby coffee was good and free bike loaners was icing on the cake. Next door to Tim's and KFC for a quick bfast or late night snack and close to downtown. We plan to stay there again.
We stayed at Hotel Zed with our three kids (14, 11 and 9). We LOVED it! The room decor, the waterslide at the pool, the record player in the lobby, the ping pong lounge, even the rotary phone - we had a blast and the kids thought it was very cool. My wife and I loved that we had our own bedroom - with a door and everything - and the kids had their own space with a queen bed and foldout couch.... more
Hotel Zed is not your typical cookie-cutter motel. The decor has a fun 60ish flair with some cool touches like rotary phones and a comic book in the room. Free biked and coffee were a nice bonus. The rooms were a little small but to be expected as this is a newly renovated old motel - there's only so much you can do without doing a lot of demolition. The beds were EXCELLENT! The best hotel bed... more
Affordable price. Nice lobby. It is located by busy street but it did not bother us because we cannot hear. Good walking distance to restaurant and shopping places. Close to bus stop.
Great trip back in time! The hotel apparently had lost our reservation but were very quick about finding us 2 new rooms that worked out better than the original plan! Very accommodating. Staff were very pleasant and helpful with info to make our trip easier. Loved the rent a bike to explore and the old VW for shuttling fantastic idea. I would definitely stay again!! Our family enjoyed the Zed. Ping pong in the basement, bikes to ride down the Galloping Goose Trail, very close to the harbour, and friendly staff. During our stay, the pool was having some repairs so we were not able to enjoy... more
We had a great experience. Staff were helpful and friendly. Rooms were quiet at night. Beds very comfortable. Rooms spotlessly clean.
looked on line loved the décor and was not disappointed
This hotel is totally hip. From the art on the walks to the comic book on the desk to the pingpong table in the lobby to the awesome 67 VW Bus they use as a shuttle. I should also say that the beds a great, pillows perfect, and the media plug is for the TV are all super. My ONLY complaint is the desk got confused and tried to check my wife in, again, when she went to play ping pong with the... more
Awesome hotel. Funky colours and furniture. Water Slide is Awesome!!! Unfortunate that they require a $200 deposit to play the Wii... But I completely recommend. $12 cab ride to downtown. Awesome if you're looking for something different!
staff are really nice. the hotel looks cute and retro. something out of the ordinary. when we checked in, the receptionist said something about not to turn off the tv and just turn it off on the cable because the tv is new and they've been having some problems with it. we end up not even using the tv. it only says no signal. but the hotel staff were really nice. they tried so hard to fix the tv... more
The hotel was very clean and the staff were helpful. However, there was no air conditioning in the room and it was very uncomfortable. Only a small fan provided relief. Also, there was a lot of traffic noise.
Hotel Zed was a very pleasant surprise. It is quirky and cool with its retro style and colors. It was spotless. We were very comfortable, close to public transit, and close to a mall and dining options.
Hotel is easy to find and staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions. Good location. Close to anemities, shopping and attractions.
that was a nice stay in this hotel with some help to go around the city with the van they have .look super cool
A funky and affordable place. The front desk was very informative and helpful. They've got a cool retro thing going on. Our kid enjoyed their pool, although we didn't try the water slide.
The exterior of the hotel was certainly very bright with a fresh coat of paint. The room itself was small but ok but as there is no air-conditioning , it can be a bit stuffy when they day is warm/hot. There is a fan but ...... The check-in staff was very nice and explain quite abit on how to get around town with free shuttle service to town. It would had been nice if there is some place to hang... more
I picked Hotel Zed for the colourful decor and I was not disappointed! It had been clearly updated and was in great condition. I recommend this hotel for anyone who likes more than just the ordinary. Also cool that it is pet friendly, that a 1967 VW van is the hotel's free shuttle bus, and the bike rentals are free for cruising.
I loved the retro styling of the hotel, and the room was adequate for our needs. Very clean, and simple. I think there was meant to be a fan in the room, as I don't know that any of the rooms have air conditioning, but there was no fan in sight, so we were a little hot. Parking was a little tight in the back due to the pool construction/renovations going on, but that is just a temporary... more

Excellent blend of the Hippy era and new finishing. Clearly an old hotel that has been renovated, and someone brilliant said, "Hey, its old, let's keep it that way!" Clean, new finishing. Beds were comfortable, excellent location.

The Blue Ridge is a very good budget option with free WiFi, a large shower, plenty of hot water, it is clean and has a television. It is conveniently situated on a bus route. The only downers were no tea/coffee facilities and no breakfast. Recommended.
My boyfriend and I were in Victoria for a conference at UVic and wanted something reasonable and not too far out of the way. The staff was very friendly and helpful whenever we had any questions. We were in Victoria visiting and Blue Ridge was recommended. I have no regrets. The room was very clean and very well laid out and comfortable. We enjoyed the pool and the staff was friendly and helpful. Best part of the stay was the price very reasonable. We will definitely be staying again.
Very affordable. Staff very polite & knowledgeable of local attractions. Shared with us s few more sites we did take in. Room was small, but very clean and surprisingly quiet. With covered parking.
This motel has been a family favorite for over 20 years. It is not new but it is clean, functional and inexpensive. The pool is great (cold walk back to the room last weekend though!!). Staff lent us blankets to stay warm during the truck light parade which we watched from the sidewalk right across from the motel. New bedspreads... more
Rooms are "motelish' (small, not necessarily soundproof) but has convenience of North Douglas area - close to northbound or east/west highways. Friendly staff, one of the more affordable clean-room options.
We will be returning. Everything was just as advertised and more.
Construction in rear parking lot was a pain but, I know the improvements
will make this worthwhile for our next stay.
Staff were all very helpful, laundry facilities a plus.
No coffee or tea making facilities in the room.
It was a pleasant bright place to stay right near the bus stop/shops and restaurants with friendly staff .We enjoyed a swim in the pool .
There was nothing to dislike here .
The staff were excellent, very helpful and friendly.
Motel type setup with street doors. Other guests outside door all night long, smoking.
Convenient Location & great staff.
Traffic noise but only a little.
The Blue Ridge Inn is located a few kilometers from downtown Victoria – if you don’t want to walk for half an hour, it’s inevitable to travel by bus to get there. Stayed 2 nights here mainly because it was a very cheap rate for a room just for myself. The location isn't the best, it is quick to downtown if you have a car and easy by bus as well, but as a walker myself it takes about 40 minutes. Not bad. The room was small and basic, great for a... more

The motel has two wings - our wing had two levels of accommodation with covered parking. Brightly coloured doors on each unit. Front office staff are friendly and helpful. nice room for a good price
staff was pushing us towards a certain whale watching company, telling us a higher price than the actual price (checked online) and followed up with a call that they arranged a discount for us which turned out to be just the actual price. Kind of misleading, other than that the hotel was nice.
There's a shopping center across from the road, could be a good place to go before fivish o'clock(closed after that time). Beautiful painting on the outside of buildings.
Quite noisy at night, like some people were partying all night long. Small room. Found bloodstain on blanket.
