this hotel has no gift shop, poor restaurant service and food and unfriendly and lack of service from doorman and bell staff. Rooms were moving toward a bit shabby needing updates or at least paint/wallpaper

Amazing Omni Montreal

We were thrilled with the location, the service and hotel room in this place. We were immediately upgraded to a suite upon arrival to a view of the mountain, without even asking. The service was wonderful. The concierge very helpful and we really loved the idea of how accessible it was to all the important areas.

Great location and service

Our family of four stayed for 4 night just before Formula 1 race in room 2103. The room was spacious and comfortable. Furnishings were nice but the window coverings seem to be dated. Good location

The entrance is not promising, being round the side of the building, but accommodation and service was as you would expect from a 4 star hotel aimed at business visitors. The location is ideal for reaching the commercial area, the brilliant park and the old town all by foot.

Thanksgiving in Montreal!

Montreal is an A+ food and beverage city and the Omni Mont Royal is our hotel of choice. The staff is superb; truly anything you need they'll help. We especially enjoyed the Whiskey Follies and the Fashomnista promotions in the Alice Bar.

Footsteps from McGill University Downtown Campus

My wife, daughter and I stayed for a couple days to visit McGill and Concordia. We got a reasonable price for a large and relatively quiet two double bed room. There are many shops and excellent restaurants within a short walking distance of the hotel. When our toilet malfunctioned (think teen), the staff responded speedily and effectively.

This is my second stay this year at the Omni and since I have family here, I am sure it will not be the last. It will be my go to hotel in Montreal. The room is very comfortable and the hotel staff is wonderful from the desk clerks to the parking valets to the concierges.

Nice designer type couch but not comfortable. It would be better to have 2 comfortable chairs.

The hotel was perfectly located in the center of downtown with a great restaurant next door. Metros and cafes within a block or two. Great hotel staff!

I stayed at the Hotel Omni over Labor Day weekend. I was there for a wedding and stayed in one of the regular 1-king bed style rooms. Overall, when we arrived, the whole check-in process was great, from the valet to the bellman coming up with our bags. Everything was handled professionally. I requested foam pillows and a bunch were delivered.

Proximity to Museum of Fine Art was what I searched the web for. We enjoyed the restaurants recommended by the concierge, the room was comfortable, and the service was fine. I would certainly stay there again.

Had a wonderful stay

Good hotel experiene

Nice stay but breakfast room needs warming up and staff needs training in thoughtfull serving. Really dislike cold contemporary meal serving pieces. Those toast holders are stupid and you probably paid a lot for them. Provide menu with prices that are high but you do NOT need to order the buffet. Get your mother in there to get real assessment!

Staff was great - when I got to the room I was given, I went back to reception and asked for a larger room - they gladly assigned a larger corner room which was great!

Business trip

Omni has changed their policy as of June 2014, so because it was booked through Expedia, Wi-Fi was now an extra. Had we booked the hotel online at their site, they would have included Wi-Fi. Disappointed with the hotel for making this change. Happy with Expedia

We have stayed at this hotel many times.. Room clean and comfortable. Location in the city is ideal. However, we had a couple of experiences that we were unhappy wtih during this trip. We are a member of Omni's frequent traveller program, but because we booked the room through expedia they told us they would not offer us the amenities that we normally receive such as free wifi in the room.... plus

Comfortable beds, outdated hotel

The lobby areas were nice enough and the hotel bathrooms and beds (most importantly) were comfortable but the rest of the room furnishings are very outdated and can use an update. It also seems there is no insulation in the walls/doors as it was very loud in the mornings with neighbors talking loudly in the halls and slamming doors. You would think for what you pay you would have some things included, but no. Parking is 17 a day, 26 for valet, Internet is 11, breakfast is 20 per person, the bar is expensive and you room is the same quality as you would find at a 3 star hotel. Awesome for Families

They were very nice to my family. We stayed for a week and they gave my son milk and cookies. They also gave my son a kids backpack which he loved.

Charm, service and great location.

We stayed here with four kids and three adults for one week at the end of August. The staff bent over backwards to make us feel at home, upgrading one of our rooms to a suite (basically we had three rooms for the price of two), and even bringing the kids milk and cookies in the evening. In hotel dining was great too.

Great experience at the Omni Mont-Royal during our three night stay in Montreal. The entire staff is friendly, helpful and competent. Special kudos to the male concierge who works during the day. He is very knowledgeable about the city, patient with all kinds of questions, and even helpful about what to do on a rainy day. Thanks to everyone at the hotel for making our stay enjoyable.

Decent-but not up to Omni name

Relatively clean (if you don't look too closely). No true amenities. Will treat you like a second-class citizen if you book through a "third party" site. This means no reward points, no free-wifi, and a noisy room on a lower floor. Seriously hard to sleep with all the sirens and I'm from NY so I know/like noise. They do not value guests. No place to buy bottled water and lousy amenities.

Great experience in a great location.. Staff very friendly(great doormen!) and a lovely outdoor pool!

My wife and two kids (ages 2 and 4) came here for a 10th anniversary celebration vacation. Couldn't really complain much. Room was nice, housekeeping was considerate (picked up our kids toys and placed them nicely on the cabinet). On our first day, they delivered milk and cookies for the kids for free.

I arrived at 6 p.m. and my room was still not ready, which was kind of a bummer after a long ride. The hotel staff accommodated me nicely though as they gave me free drinks in the bar as I waited and later in the stay sent a gift package to my room apologizing for the inconvenience. This hotel has poor customer service.

Check-in is at 3pm and it is 6:02pm and still no room. They keep blaming housekeeping with very little remorse. Seriously? You're not apologizing for this inconvenience?

Spent 3 nights in Montreal, the hotel is centrally located to downtown and conveniently located to two metro stations. Old Montreal is just a few stops away. Hotel Omni treated me exceptionally well. I forgot my electric toothbrush in my room. I called them, and they agreed to ship the toothbrush back to me - in Vancouver - at /their own/ expense. The toothbrush arrived packed and wrapped with care within a few days. Basically, they went out of their way to provide me excellent service, even after I was no longer a guest. A++ would recommend.

executive suite perfect for elderly couple

definitely worth the extra money for the executive suite. Very quiet and very close to our destination that weekend, gorgeous view and the king bed was so comfortable. Loved having two full baths, no stress getting ready to go out. Will go back again and book that same room if we can.

The hotel was correct overall. Not necessarly a good value for money though. I would recommend a few other hotels in Montreal before that one (Hyatt Regency for example).The staff did not offer a good customer service experience. I showed up at the hotel and they informed me that the only room they had for me had a pull-out only which was brutal. They didn't comp my room and in fact, charged me a higher rate. Perfect spot to tour galleries, enjoy nightlife / restaurants. Very close to McGill University. Rooms large and comfortable - beautiful marble bathroom with one of the greatest mirrors i have ever seen in a hotel - bath linens were sumptuous. Lobby bar and small resto were excellent. We stay at the Montreal Omni every year and it continues to maintain and improve its offering. Clean well appointed rooms, friendly competent staff. Great location, nicely furnished. We had a terrific, spacious room on the 31st floor overlooking the whole city. Very friendly and helpful staff. My sister and I stayed here as it was part of a package from GP Tours for the Formula 1 Canadian Grand Prix. It's a huge hotel and has many floors. Great romantic stay. Effortless. Friendly. Clean. All of the bilingual staff from the front desk to the valet were very happy to help. The location was perfect giving easy access to the Metro, St. Catherine shopping district, and multiple bars and eateries. It was very easy to find the hotel once inside the city itself and just as easy to depart and get back on the road after check-out.

Hotel was very nice and was in a good location, close to the metro, shopping, restaurants...etc. The only complaint that i had was that we had the corner room facing Peel street and there is a disco on that street that was very noisy! If you can, ask for a room facing the mountain side.

The hotel might had been 4-star 30 years ago, but everything there is so out-dated now, the amenities, decor, hotel rooms, bathrooms, and the furnitures in the room, all looked "aged." The only thing that looks a bit nicer is the front door with tons of 1000-watt lights shooting at the entrance of the hotel. Definitely not a 4-star inside like it says on Priceline.

My husband and I loved our stay at the Omni. It was centrally located and we had a great view of Mont Royal from our window. We found it clean and well attended. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. It's right near the Peel Metro stop and was within walking distance from a lot of the exciting parts of the city. Yes - another online deal was had at this Omni. The check-in desk was courteous and welcoming. We got a room on the seventh floor and the view was overlooking their pool. Not much of a view, but the room was great! Comfortable bed, clean bathroom and a couch made our stay here very nice. Plus, the location was very convenience for us.

I was a guest here for a conference back in Oct '06. The front desk staff were very nice, and my room was above average. Close to shopping and the underground. Stay here, you wont be disapponted.

We had issues from the start at the Omni Hotel. Because we book through Orbitz, not the hotel website, we were not guaranteed 2 beds like we had wanted. We had kill 3 hours while they got a room together. No big deal, I understand now that is the risk you take by booking through a 3rd party.

Awesome location! Just as the person before me described, you can walk ANYWHERE from this location in downtown Montreal. Our hotel room was very clean, and while not the nicest, was a very good deal and we received a lot more for our money compared to going to Vegas for the same rate. Great location! You can walk just about anywhere from the hotel. The underground city is just round the block. The rooms were clean and comfortable. There is a small gym on the 3rd floor opened to guests. It gets crowded in the morning as it is also a "health club" opened to members (public). There is a small jacuzzi and a pool. Really great experience staying at this hotel. We got a suite size room, even though we booked a regular one. The room was huge with a view of the rooftop pool. Sweet!

I would definitely recommend the Omni. While a little bit more expensive, it is a very nice hotel and the people there take great care of you. The location is also wonderful - just a 5 minute walk from everything. You can also get a great view over Mont Royal.

Great Honeymoon!

We were on our honeymoon and were not only pleased with the room, but were given great chocolate dipped strawberries to enjoy while we were in the room. The pool and hot tub were a treat too, since not all hotels in Montreal have those facilities. And, we were pleased to the short walk to the night life and to the train. Highlly Recommended

First class hotel and in March the rates were very attractive. The room was spacious and well maintained. The location is right in the heart of downtown Montreal, so very good for shopping or if you are Montreal for business purposes. It is a long walk to Old Montreal. Parking is somewhat expensive.
