Hotel Nelligan is a luxury hotel located in Old Montreal. Traditional brick walls, French cuisine, European elegance, with a unique charm. Verses and Méchant Boeuf restaurants, rooftop terrace.
Hotel Nelligan is a luxury hotel located in Old Montreal. Europe at your doorstep. A building that’s over a hundred years old, traditional brick walls, French cuisine… Hôtel Nelligan exudes European elegance, but the charm it bestows on its guests is singular and all its own.
Hôtel Nelligan invites you to indulge in romantic European-style luxury in a historic riverside setting. Housed in elegant 1850s buildings in the heart of Old Montreal, the Nelligan welcomes you to sumptuous rooms, warm professional service and fine dining. Its rooftop terrace overlooking the Old Port, exquisite French cuisine at Verses Restaurant, and the laid-back vibe at Méchant Boeuf... more
My wife and I stayed here once even though we live not far away. We waned to experience the hype that this hotel was creating. It is a beautiful hotel with great roome and friendly hospitality. The restaurants are amazing and the roof top terreace is a great place to be in the ho summer nights in MTL. The view is fantastic!!!!! All my clients stay there when they come to MTL and only have great things to say about the hotel
Vraiment un très bel hotel bien situé et bien réputé avec un très beau cachet vieillot!
A stone's throw from the old port, the 105-room Nelligan, opened in 2002, combines classic Old Montréal charm (original stonework, dark woods) with modern touches (a soaring atrium). It's a favorite of visiting Hollywood producers, and its brasserie, Verses, is equally popular among locals. As with most design-motivated hotels, service isn't its strongest asset (it's best to order room service... more
Beyond charming. Positively darling. Feels like Cate Blanchett is reclining on a divan in the next room. And she just might be. 63 rooms with a view of the cobblestone streets below or overlooking the Saint-Laurent River. A picture perfect blend of the old and the new with antique details and modern edge.
This was our first stay at the Nelligan, though I had heard about it for some time. As soon as we pulled up outside this lovely Old Montreal boutique hotel, we were greeted and helped inside by a
helpful and friendly young man. All staff we came into contact with was warm and helpful. The only down side was that...

We have visited Montreal many times over the years, typically stay around Sherbrooke St. area. This was our first time staying at Hotel Nelligan, booked through Tourisme Montreal website-> Sweet Deals. A wonderful location in Old Montreal. You can feel the history of the early roots of Montreal and of the New World as you walk the narrow cobblestone streets.... more
We recently enjoyed a stay at Hotel Nelligan in Old Montreal.
The location is fabulous right in the heart of this historic district of Montreal.
The room was refined, comfortable, and spacious with a partial view of the port and river. We could even see Habitat and the casino.
The hotel is surrounded by shops, restaurants, etc. so park your...

Just returned from an excellent 3 night stay at the Hotel Nelligan. The staff and concierge were helpful, the rooms were spacious and decor very tasteful and classic, the bathroom - amazing! We were in a petite suite with a double jacuzzi - worth every cent (they had a special and we got a package deal, so rooms were reasonable!).... more
My wife and I have enjoyed several weekends at the Nelligan and each time we leave we walk away with the exact same feeling..."We can't wait to come again". It has turned into our favorite little getaway. We cannot say enough about how hands on the entire team is. Their attention to detail is impeccable. The rooms are beautiful with... more
We had our wedding reception at the Nelligan in late September 2011. From start to finish this hotel was right on. Cocktails and canapes on the Versus sky terrace was absolutely fantastic. As for the meal, everything was bang on for a large banquet, and this comes from a chef. The rack of lamb was fork cutting tender, the molten... more
This was an excellent hotel with outstanding service, amenities and comfort. I would recommend this hotel to anyone heading to Canada. It's prime location and wonderful staff will make this trip a momentous occasion for any traveler.
Visit Montreal almost once a year, and have stayed at various hotels including boutiques in Old Montreal. This has been the most memorable by far. However, I havent been in a few years, and we came in the summer off season and I remember paying over 350-400 a night for a King Bed Suite...I'm sure prices are about the same.... more
When was the last time you stayed at any hotel and received customer service that exceeds your expectations? Being someone who travels about twice a month I needed just 2 days of an escape to relax, shop and spa. The rooms are outstanding and I highly recommend the petit suites with the fireplace, jacuzzi and old brick work. The beds... more
I have stayed at the Nelligan many times over the years and it is always a great hotel in a great location. The rooms are beautiful and the overall atmosphere is perfect. When I stayed there recently, I had a beautiful, spacious room but unfortunately, the noise of trucks backing up on the street below was very disruptive. When I... more

We loved it! The staff was perfect! The room was great! Ok, so the view was nothing to write home about. It's a city! How is the hotel supposed to fix that?! The lounge was very nice. We didn't try the restaurant for dinner but we did order room service for breakfast. Great! I'm giving it 4 stars because our fire place did not work. Whatever! We will stay here again and we will recommend it to... more
I am not sure how everyone here rated this hotel as basically perfect. We are staying here for a wedding and I will jump right into the issues and will begin with our (first) room: there were glass shards in the bathtub. Once I saw these I decided not to take a shower and wanted to go back out but the door in the bathroom door was so jammed that my fiancé and I took quite a while to open it -... more
Beautiful boutique hotel - much better choice than the boring chains. Extremely professional service, turn down, free cocktail each day, excellent toiletries and huge rooms. Please stay here, you will not be disappointed!
Fabulous bouteaque hotel. Great rooms and a staff that is there to please. Of course you will pay for the excellence but if you can it's worth it. Enjoy
Wonderful hotel, great rooms with lots of character - exposed brick, lovely large bathrooms. The only complaint was that the fireplaces were decorative only - no heat given off. But did not detract from the overall charm of the hotel. Would definitely return there again.
Conveniently located near restaurants, shopping, the waterfront, and the metro, this hotel should be on anyone's list for a fun get-away in Montreal. The hotel's "cinq a sept" cocktail hour for guests is a nice touch. Overall, superb experience.
Great location! The service was excellent, upgrade to the loft suite, its worth the extra cash!Just a great find
Hotel is located within close walking distance to all the historical sites. Continental breakfast was a great start for the .
Very comfortable escape from the hustle and bustle of the city, steps away from great shopping and restaurants.
I finally got to stay here because the dead zone after Christmas made this hotel finally affordable. The location can only be beat by the Saint Sulpice. I had heard that there is no gym in the St. Sulpice so Nelligan probably gives you the most full offering of a hotel in this class. Check-In had a surprisingly nice delight with a pair of free cocktail coupons at the bar - only that the... more
If you're going to Montréal do yourself a favour and check this place out. Great location, excellent restaurant and an excellent vibe. Plus in the summer they have a kick a@s roof bar. And yes the roof bar is open to the public, but I believe being a guest gets you priority access.
Very well situated in the heart of Old Montreal. Service was very good. The food at the Verses was amazing
While the hotel is a lot bigger than it seems, you'd never guess it from the personal boutique atmosphere and design. Every space has been given detail and elegance of old Montreal while making it modern and chic in a great location.I'd like to stay here again.
Se magnifique! The Nelligan is the zenith of boutique hotelery- the quaint charm, location and legitimate panache of an Old Montreal inn, with the full fledged amenities of a much larger hotel (gym, full restaurant and bar, terrace lounge, etc)Beautiful classic styling, immaculate cleanliness, wonderful exposed brick, open courtyard, modern baths with quirky Old City architecture, impeccable... more
I spent only one night at the Nelligan Hotel but I wish I could have stayed longer. Location wise is perfect, The decor is modern but you still feel the warm atmosphere of the surrounding old town.. I loved the 'French not too french' ambience, but what really impressed me was the outstanding care of the front desk. There was a problem with my reservation and they promptly found a solution and... more
The location near old Montreal and the waterfront was ideal. The lobby and rooms have cozy brick walls and nice furnishings, and the staff was very friendly.
My first visit to Montreal - magnifique!! The Nelligan is in a prime location in Old Montreal, on a cobble-stoned street that leads into an area lined with cafes, galleries, shops & restaurants! We began our evenings at the Nelligan's roof-top bar/restaurant which, in addition to magnificent views, appears to be THE place to be seen in the late afternoon/evening. Breakfast at the Nelligan was... more
Stay here-We had an absolutely wonderful stay. We had a spacious room. The hotel is kept very clean; the staff is superb (front desk and doormen stand out, but others were good as well). The concierge was extremely helpful and helped us find our way each day with... more
This is a gorgeous hotel at a lovely location. The rooms are clean and very comfortable. The servers are attentive but not intrusive. I wondered what fragrance they use in their soaps and room fresheners - but the rooms smelled crispy fresh every time they were serviced. They also serviced the rooms twice a day - which was nice. The hotel is a block from the Notre Dame and a quick ~5 minute... more
Probably the best place my wife and I have ever stayed. The petite suite was gorgeous, the staff was very friendly and accomodating, and the terrace restaurant on the 5th floor with great views of Old Montreal was a nice bonus. A fireplace in the room was also a nice touch.
Perfect location for my short first visit to Montreal, walking distance to the port for my cruise ship. A lively "In"-crowd at roof terrace and open-air restaurant. Incredible restoration and furnishings in room. Staff readily switches to English from French.
Lovely experience. Bed was quite comfortable, air quality was good, hot water was plentiful, lighting very pleasant (if they use those jarring new fluorescent bulbs, they're well disguised). The staff were helpful and polite. It's close to lots of cute, quaint, reasonably priced places to eat, and art galleries, and the interesting Port, which is important for travelers whose mobility is... more

Went to a MOntreal Canadian Game & just toured around old Montreal. Hotel was great. They were very helpful.
Beautiful terrase, memorable food and a potent mojito -- all the makings for a great night out in the summer!
Really enjoyed the roof-top terrace at the Nelligan. Whether on a busy Thursday evening or a quieter weekend soirée, you can really lose yourself in a moment. The food is very good and the service is just as good. Parking is always going to be a challenge, but I suggest parking towards McGill and enjoying a nice walk down St-Paul.
Asked and received advice on restaurants - all fantastic. Requested directions for various sights - friendly and efficient service.
The best parts of this hotel experience cascade out of the mind quickly: historical and romantic section of Montreal meets soft bed and quaint privacy of a small inn. As in most of Montreal, the staff is bilingual and "on in," ready to help with a timely resi or recommmendation. The hotel's restaurant is a good choice for this part of Montreal too, considering that the city's stellar food... more

My husband and I stayed here for our brief honeymoon this September and absolutely loved this hotel. The guest services were great, and the room was beautiful. Complementary wine and cheese was also included with our room each evening in the bar. The bartender was super... more
