I stayed here years ago when this hotel was new. That was a long time ago, and the hotel is well maintained, but compared to other offerings in Montreal, it's become a bit tired. It's become the hotel of choice for inexpensive group accommodation, so it's got a good rate, a good location, but the hotel is a bit tired.... more
By far the WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE I have ever encountered!!!!
I got to the hotel mid afternoon, there were a large group of teenagers everywhere in front of the building and in the lobby, I checked into my hotel room, upon entering the hotel room I heard a toilet flush, I thought to myself, wow, very thin walls, then the...

We stayed one night at this hotel. Check -in was smooth.
We got to back to the room and it was very basic. It was very cold and we turned on the baseboard heaters which did eventually warm up the room.We were told that parking was full and would have to park at the lot next door-It would be $10...

Great location, perfect for walking both Old Montreal, Plateau Mont-Royal and Quartier Latin neighborhoods. Clean rooms. Friendly service. Good value.
My friends and I stayed at the Hotel Lord Berri for one night while celebrating my birthday. The hotel staff was very helpful during check in and when we needed to receive a cab. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The room included a closet, a nice sized bathroom, desk two double beds a built in bench an a very nice view. The only problem was that the windows do not... more
Hotel is a short block from the Metro and close to shopping on St. Catherine St. Very nice to be close to the end of the bus line from and to the airport. Clean and pleasant is good enough - I don't need fancy amenities.
Good value. The only problems we had was that the room door deadbolt did not work; the hotel parking was full but there is a pay lot next door; and there seemed to be crumbs on one of the bed covers.
Stayed there for New Years Eve with a group of friends. Would not do so again.
We were forced to wear wrist bands for the duration of our stay to prove we were guests (thought that was why we had room keys), and the hotel would not allow friends from other hotels to come up to our rooms to meet...

This was my first time to Montreal. what a horrible hotel for a first time experience. the receptionist was awful. Apparently, they have a new years policy (which was not on there website). you are given wristbands upon arrival. they took photocopies of all the guest id's and you where not allowed to bring liquor in bottles to you room.... more
We found Hotel Lord Berri well located to see Montreal and Vieux Montreal. Our room was clean, comfortable and spacious. Having a restaurant on the ground floor, accessible from the lobby was lovely as we arrived late. It was also good if you wanted an early breakfast too. The staff were efficient and helpful.
This was my first time in Monteal, and it started out fantastic because of this hotel. A fantastic front desk agent by the name of Catherine welcomed us to the hotel and made us feel right at home. The room was quite nice and the beds very comfortable. We had breakfast in the restaurant on our last day there and... more
This was my second visit. I want a central location and a reasonable hotel, and it delivers on both counts. We walked to all our restaurants and night life, and also to Vieux Montreal and Chinatown. Close to a metro stop, too. Quiet room.
I have stayed at this hotel many times and I am always treated well and the rooms are cleanand tidy. I enjoy the friendly staff.
Hotel very far from business district. Good rate for very busy week in Montreal. Everything decent except towels and no lotion in the bathroom. All decent hotels have decent towels and lotion in the bathroom.
This is a nice hotel located only a few minutes walking distance from the Gay Village, and about a 10-minute walk to Vieux Montreal. Also, the bus to and from the airport is only two blocks away (Main Bus Station) and costs only $8 in each direction. No need to waste money on the $38 cab fare!
The rooms are spacious and quiet. The staff at front desk was ok, but not the room maid.
One evening we came back and our room has not been made. We reported that to the front desk and asked for quick cleaning ect., because we were tired. After half an hour a room maid came and did what se had...

Good location, close to metros, st. catherine, and old montreal. We walked around a lot, and the bixi bikes were great for getting us to places further away.
The room was nothing special, and the A/C was loud and the room felt very damp and sticky the entire time. It was not fun to come back to after a long...

I stayed at the Hotel Lord Berri for three nights this past week, and I was thoroughly impressed! The hotel room was excellent (I stayed on the 7th floor, and got a King-sized bed for the price of a Queen-sized.) The hotel was very well kept and my room was spotlessly clean. The location of the hotel is wonderful as... more
I needed a hotel for 1 night (my husbands company paid for a "luxury hotel", but we arrived a day early and needed some where to crash for a night) This hotel did great. It's clean and close to everything.Once we checked into "fairmont/QE" (which is suppsed to be a 4 star hotel) seemed to be comparable, except for pricing. The fairmont was going for $220! Where I found this hotel for 50% less. I... more
I perticularly like this hotel because it is one blockk from the main street St. Catherines. It is also one block away f rom Berri UGAM Metro station. It is always clean aand inviting.the staff are very kinowledgeable and friendly.
Overall it's ok - basic accomodations - you can tell the place was nice at one time bu a bit tired now... BEST: location...WORST: the kitchen below was constantly frying stuff and had an overwhelming fried food stink in the lobby
Great hotel for the price. Room was clean and the bed was super comfortable. Would definitely stay there again.
Good location. Parking is around the corner for $15 a night. Nice front desk stuff, but room was very dirty. All over the bathroom were black hair -on the floor, in the shower cabin, and even on the toilet seat! Disgusting! On over last day, I found a big black roach running in the bathroom. Room needs renovation and definitely better cleaning!
we spent two nights and everything was ok. Excellent services, staff friendly and helpful. Very good location and excellent restaurant. good value for the price.
Room was comfortable and pleasant. My only problem was that although WIFI is free - I don't have a laptop and needed to use the hotel computer. There is an unfortunate charge of $2.00 for 15 minutes which is really out of line. Other than that inconvenience, my stay was fine.
We celebrated our 13th wedding anniversary by going to Montreal. The hotel was very clean and the restaurant attached to the hotel was absolutely WONDERFUL! The service was amazing we ate two dinners there out of the three nights we stayed. HOWEVER, upon arrival we were given our room and to our surprise it was not the room we booked. We had booked an executive king but were given a room... more
The rooms have been refurbished but the room still shows its age with the air conditioner in the wall. The room had a funky musty smell when I first entered that either I got used to or it went away with the use of the fan. Good shower and nice amenities. The location was GREAT - near the Berri-UQAM metro station which connects to every line. The front desk clerks were very helpful with maps.
great location next to everything, but the room was pricy for the way it was plain, not all things worked and bed was VERY hard. This hotel as well is 100% NON-smoking which doesn't help when your with your boyfriend and friends that smoke.
We went for a weekend, never been to Montreal before. Great location, friendly staff. If you are looking for a fancy hotel with all the trimmings this is not for you. If you want a great location, comfortable bed, warm shower you will like this place. Walking distance to metro, attractions. Would stay here again
it was good and I have enjoyed my stay.
This hotel is located close to the highway system and it's easy to get to from Vermont. It's also conveniently located near the Metro and St. Catherine Street. I stay here almost every time I'm in Montreal. Affordable and clean.
The hotel is well located, a few minutes from main streets and attractions, rate was decent and the hotel restaurant have good affordable food. Rooms are a little bit old, and beds are not very comfortable
Good staff at reception, nice comfortable room, very limited parking though, and at a cost, - which was advised at booking. Internet only available in lobby for a price. Overall a nice hotel, connecting restaurant is also very good and prices are reasonable. Would stay again
I came for a professional meeting lasting four days and was thoroughly disappointed. It looks nice enough from the outside, but once in the room I immediately smelled an odor from the bathroom that, at best, smelled like BO. With no air on in the room, it was downright nasty. The vent/fan in the bathroom ceiling tile was also falling down on one end, which really made it a turn-off. In the... more
being clost to the subway stop is really the only thing going for this place.
Spent one night. Quiet and clean. Good location close to old Montréal. Good restaurant downstairs. The staff was great. I will definitely be back.
The hotel was in a questionable neighborhood...the room was hot, small and outdated. The worst part was the bed was so uncomfortable...I didn't even stay for the last night that I paid for.
The hotel has a very good location, walking distance to most attractions. Staff is friendly and helpful; sometimes the reception desk is overwhelmed by the number of guests. There is a slight smell of old and damp; AC and ventilation help with that somewhat.
Not a very pleasant experience. The non-smoking room I stayed at smelled like smoke. There is no way air being circulated/exchanged. Upon check-in, I heard a couple complaining about exact the same thing but the management said no way to change room due to full house. The beds are not flat. The room has little light. I am unable to relax in this environment so needed to take Ambien to sleep.... more
Nice, modest hotel. Have seen better ones, have seen worse ones.
Was given a room that wasn't made-up (after 6pm) and had to change to similar room. Was forced to change rooms again following day to a room with one bed to make room for party needing two beds. Was given an upgraded room & free continental breakfast for trouble, but would not have unpacked first night had I known!
Room wasn't ready when I checked in, great location for business (very close to Rogers headquarters) and for pleasure (downtown)
We had limited choices since this was the F1 Grand Prix weekend, but $700+ for 3 nights for a standard 2 double beds room was about $400 too much. Hotel appears to have been partially updated, but not the floor we were on (3rd). There was a definite odor in the air stepping off the elevator, carpets had large stains, some towels/sheets had holes in them, room entry light and alarm clock did... more
The Hotel Lord Berri is conveniently located a half block from the Berri/Uqam metro station and the shops of St. Catherine's street. The standard room (two double beds) was small but adequate. However, the beds in this room were terrible. They resembled a fish bowl (high on all sides, with a dip in the center), and were quite hard. As bed quality is the most important aspect of a hotel room,... more
The hotel was passable but had a lot of room for improvement. There were lots of cracks in walls and tears in wallpaper and such that made the place look a little bit rundown. Though we'd reserved the room one month ahead of time, we were placed right along the stairwell and could hear every footfall of anyone who chose to use it. Some of the lights in the room didn't work and though the... more
I was very disappointed to find no parking available at the hotel or the lots close by. Had to drive for blocks to finally find a parking location. Then was lost and walked for 30min.s trying to find the hotel again.
The close proximity to the metro stop made it easy for us to visit different parts of the city. The hotel was clean and comfortable.
We stayed at the hotel during the international film festival, and it was very close to the festival as well as great restaurants nearby.
Ive stayed here in the past and i loved the location. Its centrally located to st catherine, and 2 blocks from the airport bus station. Rather than taking a cab ride for 40 dollars you can easily take the bus for half and it leaves you 2 blocks from this hotel. The only problem this time i arrived, they had some event, full of teenagers, they occupied the entire hotel and partied to the wee... more
The room was very nice, and clean. I especially liked that there was a mini-fridge in the room, and that the internet was free and easy to set up. The shower was AMAZING! The only complaint I had was that the HVAC unit was very noisy, but the temperature in the room was okay so I didn't ever turn it on.I often spent my evening in the hotel restaurant. While expensive, the food was very good,... more
I love camping, I wish I had my tent and sleeping bag with me to sleep in the middle of the street rather than sleeping in this hotel. Horrible mattresses... Very old, smell bad. My back still hurts after 2 days. The lights were not working. Right on a busy street so noisy. Paid 100$ for a night!!!! Too expensive, it only worths 30 bucks no more.... more
Hotel Lord Berri was great. The rooms were clean, the hotel staff provided great tips on the neighborhood. The Metro (subway) is a very short distance (2 blocks) from the hotel and you can easily get all over Montreal. The neighborhood nearby has a lot of food options within walking distance.
The location was great. Easy to access by car without getting into the heart of downtown. It was within walking distance of Old Montreal, China town and really close to the Metro Station.. where you can ride quickly to other parts of the city. Though my room was next to the elevator, it was very quiet. Downside to the hotel: The rooms were a little shopworn, the luggage storage area was... more
We selected this hotel due the proximity to Old Montréal, it is walking distance. The parking was a bit odd though, we had the option of parking in a lot next door that was not affiliated with the hotel for $15/night or pay $17/night CND and park indoors. We opted to park indoors but it was a very tiny parking garage, seemed to be very safe but difficult to navigate a midsize car in.We only... more
Doppelzimmer sehr groß mit zwei riesigen Betten. War schon etwas abgewohnt und vermutlich wegen der fehlenden zentralen Belüftung etwas muffig. Fenster öffnen hilft. Sauberkeit trotzdem ordentlich. Not a bad hotel, good value, clean but could use updating. Great location, would stay there again.
I stayed here a few times. It is clean and secure, good internet, nice sleep, downside is they want to rip you off $1.50 for each local call you make. The regular price is $89.99-99.00 a night, somehow I found myself paying $109.99 + tax = $127 which IMO is too much for a 3*** in the Berri area. I would stay here again if the price was $89.99, but for $109.99 plus tax I'd take a walk to a 4****... more
My only complaint was the construction behind the hotel that began early in the morning
This an average hotel with clean rooms and professional reception. The standard room was clean with the exception of the exterior window. Finsihes are old but maintained. This is the wrong hotel if you want a hotel that is in the middle of a happening neighborhood. The location is excellent, if you don't mind walking 2-10 minutes to get to Old Montreal, St Dennis Street and downtown. It is... more
We arrived to find Parking was Full; likely a result of the lower price we paid with orbitz. Now I feel like we overpaid. Hotel is dumpy. Not sure how it is a four star, maybe the owner keeps rating himself. Man at desk is mean and deceptive. He told me I had to figure out my own parking then told me there is a lot next to the hotel and it costs $15 to leave the car over night plus more... more
My wife and I have stayed at the Hotel Lord Berri twice. This was a repeat stay. I love the location - right near the Village, Rue St-Catherine, Rue St-Denis, and metro stations. I like to be able to park my car and then either walk or use the metro to get around. The hotel front desk staff is extremely courteous. The rooms we've stayed in have been a little dark, but they have been... more
Wonderful location , close to transportation , just a few blocks from the old section of town.
Great location. Great price. Nothing fancy here, but great value so would stay again.
I booked the Junior Suite and three regular rooms for a girls weekend in Montreal. Don't be fooled by the nice photos online - this place is old! The A/C in the suite leaked water all over the floor and when we notified the front desk we were told they filed a "report" but nothing was fixed or even cleaned up the whole weekend. Imagine stepping out of bed onto a wet floor - ICK! The telephone... more
I don't know where to start. The location is good. It is near the subway. The staff there (including the manager) are the rudest people I ever met. We basically got kicked out at check out time. I mean, I know it's their job but they could have been a little nicer about it. Another thing is that I forgot my 5 month old son's bottles($40 worth) in their fridge. I went back about an hour later... more
After I read reviews of this hotel, they scared me I almost cancel my reservation.

This hotel is okay actually. I arrived at 2:30PM and I got my room right away. Yes the underground garage is tight and small (so don't even think about driving your pickup truck or grand caravan in it) and it costs $16+ tax. But it's downtown it is expensive for parking everywhere. Overall it is safe to...

When I went to check out after a 2 day stay , they tried to charge me $363 when I was quoted $139 with the casino package. After explaining quite adamently to the manager, I was given the correct price. It was well worth the $139, but after taxes and parking fee, $15/day, It was $199. I guess is was worth that because we got continental breakfast for 2 and $20 casino $. Had to take the subway... more
We stayed in the Lord Berri for three days in July and liked it very much. The staff were friendly and efficient, the room was clean and the towels, while not luxurious, were just fine. The hotel is 2 blocks from the... more
We arrived to hear the parking garage was full and had to park in an outside lot near the hotel. The room was clean but the towels were threadbare and ragged and most badly stained.
