Located in Montreal’s Quartier Latin, Hotel Le Roberval is in the heart of the city’s cultural center
The studio room was clean and comfortable with a small kitchen and balcony. Queen bed was cozy after spending a full autumn day in the city. Room probably was a converted apartment. Building is a little old with dents/warping in the floor, but clean. Shower spray was misty instead of stream, but decent strength. Bathroom had liquid soap dispensers, but no shampoo, so bring your own bath stuff.... plus
Basics covered. Go somewhere else if you want fancy. Parking garage is VERY small.
No-frills, no-hassle, no-worry accommodations. The staff is pleasant, the room was more than adequate for two people. We had a "Queen plus Sofa Bed" suite, including a kitchenette (stove/microwave/2 mini fridges). The "Queen" bed is more like a double-bed, but I think that's the case with most hotel beds described by Montreal hotels. The mattress was comfortable and we found extra pillows in... plus
excellent rooms and staff. only (small) problem is the lack of parking, but I could easily find a parking spot in the street.
I went with a group of 9. I got two rooms, both were clean and comfortable. The concierges were very sweet and understanding with a great sense of humor. Visually and facility wise, there isn't much (A plain lobby, no exercise or spa rooms), but you get what you need. The rooms are clean but don't expect them to be cleaned during your stay. If your bathroom or anything else gets ditrth, it will... plus
Hotel, hotel location, hotel safety, hotel staff ok. Hotel is near most tourist activities, subway (Metro), bus routes. Main road is very busy, but manageable.
Very hard to beat, and I've done a few hotels in Montreal!... plus
Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. Hotel is close to downtown (either by bus, or a 30 minute walk) and nice and close to Old Montreal as well (about 15 minute walk). We stayed for one night and this hotel met our needs well.
Suite was clean but small and really really lacking of light.
Hotel was very clean, breakfast was fine, front dest staff could have been a bit more friendly and helpful.
The hotel was located near bus lines, a block away from several Bixi stations and within easy walking distance of several good dining options. The walk to Old Montreal was a bit further, but certainly not hard. The room was clean, staff was friendly and the continental breakfast was just fine. This isn't a posh hotel, but for the money, we thought it was a very good value. Even though it's... plus

We stayed for one night and we really enjoyed our stay; the hotel and room were extremely clean, the personnel very helpful and polite. The breakfast served was of a... plus
Excellent accomodations and food. We were given a kitchenette suite equipped with fridge, stove , toaster. Very well situated within walking distance to Place Des Arts, where we enjoyed the TD/Bell festival.Also... plus
The staff was very helpful to us. We had a suite, which ended up being more of an apartment. It was great to have more room, but nothing was especially "comfortable". It was a good location- near the Old City, but I think next time we would try to stay even closer. For what we paid here, I think we can find something smaller and nicer somewhere else. Overall, it was clean and efficient.
Our synchronized swim team stayed at the hotel while attending the 2014 FINA World Masters Championship. We stayed in 2 - two bedroom suites that easily accommodated the 9 persons in our group. The rooms were generally comfortable and quiet. The layout of the kitchenette facilities are a little tight, but allowed us to prepare most of our meals during the one week we were there. The continental... plus
Travelled as a family (2 kids 7 and 10). Staff was friendly and hotel is very well located for tourism. Room was clean. Negative point is some people may find it noisy because of traffic (that didn't prevent us from sleeping though)
Besides having no immediate parking, the door to the outside has no view to the attendant. Attendant won't respond to buzzard except if you press it more he will scream. The bathroom door hits the toilet. There is no air conditioning in the bedroom just in the living room. If bed in living room is open you will not be able to sit on the chairs cause there is no space. Attendants specially an... plus
We had a suite, which consisted of a queen bed in one room and a sofabed in the other. It was fine for a family of four. It had a balcony, which was nice for the kids. The room and bathroom were very clean. Although the rooms have kitchenettes, there was no residual food smell. There was no smoke smell. The bedroom had a window AC unit which was very noisy. Worst experience ever!
Very ghetto place, resembles of hostel with in suit washrooms.
Terrible service doesn't begin to describe our experience.
We were there this spring and reserved a very terrible reception from two employees - Kelly and Vanessa. They called themselves supervisors. They were rude, unconsidered and showed too much attitude. When I voiced my concern one of them told the other...

We really enjoyed the kitchenette and the gret location. The hotel staff were very helpful. Great breakfast.
Well located close to Metro and only a few blocks from many restaurants. Friendly and helful staff
The express bus from the airport goes directly by the hotel. Staff was accommodating and helpful. Nice to have a continental breakfast in the morning.
We really enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We had a studio room which had a full kitchen. The daily continental breakfast was great for a free breakfast. The location was very good for us. It is right by the Berri-UQAM metro station which connects the green, orange and yellow lines, so getting around was easy. It is also right along Ste Catherine Street which has lots of great restaurants. And... plus
Stairs to hotel front entrance. No ramps. you have to lift your luggage to get into the hotel entrance. ( if you have a bad back , stay someplace else) A little too far from downtown if it is raining or you are coming back late night by foot.
I had two reservations.. one for my family and one for a friend's family. The woman at the front desk was unbelievably helpful and kind. She got our rooms immediately, even though it was before check-in time. She helped us with our parking and finding things to do. She gave us maps and showed us the best places to go... plus
The hotel is perfectly placed between Old City/Vieux Port and Downtown Montreal as it's right in the Latin Quarter. Primarily loved the location and price. Their complimentary breakfast had a great selection - croissants, pain au chocolat, Canadian bagels, nice assortment of juices, tea, coffee... Check in was relatively easy, but if you plan on using their parking, you have to check in first... plus
Our expeience was good. No complaints. We passed up the continental breakfast offered by the hotel, except for beverages. However, one of the desk clerks referred us to a nearby restaurant for a full breakfast, which we patronized each morning of our trip. IGA Market and a beer and wine shop within walking distance.
We stayed for a week here and would go back if we were in Montreal. Plenty of space and, although we didn't cook in the room, having the kitchen there was useful - a proper fridge and freezer rather that a minibar fridge.
Liked the balcony.
Very handy, being a block from Berri-UQAM Metro station. Meant that we were happy...

My husband and I only stayed there one night. We arrived in the afternoon and had a room write away. We had a kitchenette room with a microwave. Room was clean and bed was comfortable. great location, easy access to the Metro, quick cab ride to Crescent street
I have stayed here many times. This hotel has a few quirks, such as parking under another hotel on the next street over, but it makes up for them with a great location that is close to the main Metro station. The rooms don't have much of a view, with some looking into an inside alley and others looking out to busy streets, but you are here for Montreal, not a hotel. The people are friendly and... plus
It was a very nice hotel for the price & for it being a 3 star hotel. I was really happy with the room, it looked very nice. With the studio room it comes with an oven, stove, pots, pans & utensils. There is no room service but there are a ton of restaurants within walking distance. There is a laundry mat in house if you need to do your laundry.
Very helpful staff, clean rooms and the location of the hotel is just perfect. I would highly recommend Hotel Le Roberval.
Great location. Close to metro which meant only one metro stop from the F1 circuit. Couldn't have been easier getting to the track over the weekend. Clean room, comfy bed. Not the grandest hotel in the city but it served our purpose.
Hotel is clean and adequate with a convenient location--about a ten minute walk to the port and Vieux Montreal. We walked several times and took a cab twice-cost about 7.50 dollars one way--once to eat dinner and go to Cirque du Soleil, which was right there at the port--we walked back to the hotel afterward--seemed safe, although there are quite a few homeless, and otherwise unsavory -looking... plus
I chose ths hotel based on its proximity to nightlife. I suppose I could have chosen somewhere a bit more upscale, however this place ticked all the boxes in my book! This hotel met our needs and I would stay again. Given the price, the value was very good since it included breakfast, was clean, had free wifi, and close to the Berri metro. Staff was friendly and helpful. As other reviewers mentioned, the towels are thin and the hallways can be noisy (we were near a stairwell). Reminded me of a college dormitory. Not complaining since we were very comfortable... plus
Good points: the location (near the UQAM metro station), the size of the room (including microwave, fridge, TV), breakfast
Bad points: the noise (of the fridge in the room, of the neighbors' showers, of the street) made the nights short!
My sister and I stayed here for one night and it was exceptional. The hotel was super clean as soon as you walked in. The room was in great condition. I spent a weekend here in July. Montreal weather can be extremely hot and humid, and my hotel room's air conditioning made my stay incredibly comfortable. I stayed at Le Roberval over a weekend with a friend to celebrate his birthday. Everything was as expected - room was clean and beds were comfortable. Very decent sized room with a work desk and a mini fridge. A 15 minute walk to China Town, and 15 min walk to St. Catherine.

I actually don't see why we should type 200 characters on a hotel we already evaluated elsewhere. That my opinion is almost excelent shows itself through my rating. There is not much to say about a good hotel except it is good which means location, calm, courtesy of the personnel.
This is a basic, but perfectly comfortable hotel very near downtown. Sparse furnishings, but clean and the rooms are large. Breakfast is OK, internet is good. Good value.
This hotel has got a great location, 2 minutes from the nearest Metro.entrance.

Alright I work here, so we could consider this as publicity, but I do not care much about the health of the owner's wallet. The hotel is located on the corner of Rene-Levesque and Berri, right across a wing from the UQAM. It is also a street away from the Berri metro station, which have access to three subway lines. The hotel is excellently located, just minutes away from the Berri-UQÀM metro station (multiple lines), several bus lines in the vicinity, and only about a 10-minute walk from the charming Vieux-Port area.

Clean and decent sized rooms with secured parking--which is very important in Montreal, it worth to pay $15 per night to get it secured. The breakfirst is ok, variaty of food you can choose from--pastries, muffins, begals, cereal...that type of stuff, no warm food... plus
I paid $180 a night to stay in this dump plus $15.00 a night to park two block away, and couldn't get my car out until my stay was over. They put me in dungeon. I had two windows, both of them faced right in to a brick wall 5 feet away. The couch was worn out and not in... plus
Location is excellent

Whenwe reached we could not find Parking. Spent almost two hour to get parking.
The suites was OK. However, the towers to use after shower were overused and should be replaced. The front of the hotel is not welcoming and the reception can be improved, it looks like a third world country hotel. The parking is very expensive per day and it is very dangerous to park because the entrance of the parking is... plus
The location is great, the place is nice and clean, and the housekeeping and front desk staff were great. Everything in our kitchenette room worked well and the bathroom had been recently renovated.

The hotel itself is rather basic, with a feeling of economy rather than luxury. The room's windows opened onto a featureless interior courtyard.
Kamer, slaapkamer, volledig uitgeruste keuken, nette badkamer. Goede airco. WiFi uitstekend.

Large well equipped rooms. Only stayed two nights but would be perfect for longer stays, more like a studio apartment than a hotel.

Great studio/suite with a kitchenette, very well located for Catherine street and Quarter Latin but also in walkin distance from old montreal and bus to/from the airport. Friendly staff, helped out with making trips. Besides this, one day before we explained why we could not make it the first night and they changed the booking without any costs.
This hotel is basic. But it's clean, near many sites and very handy to the Airport bus. The staff are very helpful and friendly. Wi Fi is free. Breakfast was very adequate and again staff friendly. If you're just looking for a good value bed and breakfast .... this is for you. If you're looking for glamour, luxury or great... plus

Since we booked at the "Studio or Suite" price, we were pleasantly surprised to discover ourselves in a suite. Our interest was in wandering the historic port area of Montreal and Le Roberval is an easy walk to the east side of the area. Front desk was exceptionally helpful. Continental breakfast was just that - no meats or eggs. We'd certainly return and recommend.
Great location!

The parking garage they use is NOT vehicle friendly. I do not recommend using it.

If you're looking for a place to sleep and maybe grab breakfast before exploring Montreal, this will do. If you're looking to be pampered, look elsewhere.

Extremely dated. No working phone despite repeated requests. Horrible breakfast choices. No inroom movies. paper thin towels, dirty sheets on pull-out - had to ask for replacements and when delivered had to make up bed ourselves.

secteur. Ainsi, les propriétaires de voitures opteraient automatiquement
pour un stationnement...

I travel A LOT, and I usually book my trips online like most people. Ive never had an issue with this, but Le Roberval sure gave me one. Upon checking in, I was asked for a voucher. There seemed to be a language barrier so he said I could wait until checking out but it wouldn't be a big deal.... plus
if you are looking for location, location, location and a staff to help you out, this is the place
Very friendly warm hospitality. The lady at the front desk was efficient and friendly

Nothing negative to say
Hotel Roberval was great. The room was cozy and well-equipped with a bathroom, kitchen (with stove, fridge, dishware, and table), balcony, and bed. The halls of the hotel are a bit tricky to navigate and the parking lot is sort of a nightmare (with very narrow passageways and no elevators) but those issues are minimal (unless you have impaired mobility,... plus
It was nice to have access to a small fridge, a sink and ustensils without having to pay a supplement. It's was also nice to have a breakfast included even if it was a bit rudimentary. Having free wi-fi is most appreciated.

Hotel Le Roberval is an absolutely excellent value. It was costly when I stayed there because the Formula 1 Grand Prix du Canada was going on that weekend, but the value had every other downtown hotel whipped. And the location was less than a block from both the bus route that runs straight to Pierre Trudeau Airport and the Berri-UQAM Metro station, which is the crossroads of the city's subway... plus
We had a nice large room and the complimentary breakfast was a bonus
Very comfortable bed, reliable high speed free WiFi, friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms.

Breakfast. Ended up having breakfast in my room. The one provided by the hotel is very limited. I suggest that they should offer breakfast as an optional extra and not fixed with the room rates.
The location and the size of the room

The breakfast was very poor. No cheese and no ham or something
This hotel was an apartment building, now converted into small suites. It has everything in place, but absolutely NO charm. It has very minimal, very basic furnishings, clean but faceless. The 2 windows in my suite opened into a central airway, looking onto the brick walls of other buildings.
Loved the location to the f1 race and to the rest of the city. Also, we
loved the friendly and courteous staff.
Location - a walk to good eating and some directions felt dodgy. 4th Floor room very noisy - street noise with 8 lanes of traffic in 4 directions and stop lights/intersection. Window had two glass layers but not double glazed (sealed) so still very noisy and air con was set into wall allowing more street noise in. fortunately aircon was... plus
Excellent location. We walked everywhere: town and underground shopping, old Montreal and Latin quarter. Pleasant helpful staff. Lots of restaurants close by. Comfortable 2 bedroom quiet suite. Hotel parking was not available but we were able to park in a public car park for $15x24hrs. It worked well.
Loved the fact that the accommodations were self-catering. The fridge and the stove make all the difference when you you are travelling on a budget. The location was simply excellent. The rooms were very clean. The beds were very comfortable.

Got it through a discounted price. Hotel is in a good location. Close to the village. Was given a single bed room when at the time of booking there was no indication of the room.

Hotel Le Roberval is a great little hotel that is cheap, clean, has a great location, and provided all you need for a weekend (or longer) in Montreal! We had free wifi, friendly service at all times, the room has a fridge. The staff were very good, the room was very clean and comfortable, the location to the Metro was very good. It was a very nice stay. A very good, inexpensive, property to enjoy in Montreal
Nothing fancy, but clean and well-kept. A good value for the money in a good location.
Hotel Le Roberval in Montreal is a great stay for families. The family room is a good size, clean , good amenities and very close to old Montreal and St Catherine street. There are metro supermarkets and subway nearby and short walk to restaurants. Highly recommend this hotel for any stay in Montreal.
The staff went out of their way to helpus take care of a couple of minor issues.
We stayed two nights at Hotel Roberval, and it was perfect for our needs...we will definitely return. The location in downtown Montreal cannot be beat...walking distance to: Old Town, shopping on Saint Catherine's, the fun, artsy college scene of UQAM, and quaint Chinatown. Also, it was a very easy 30 minute bus ride on the #747 shuttle from the airport (only $8!) I agree that I wouldn't spend... plus
We were looking for just a basic stay as we planned to spend most of time outside enjoying Montreal. This place was perfect, lean and worthy
This is my second time at this hotel. I enjoy the size of the room. the cleanliness and the full kitchen. Breakfast is included and offers many good choices. The only problem is that the soap is in a container one must press to use, (which I found difficult) and there is no shampoo, conditioner or lotion offered. If one is aware of that, it is easy to bring one's own personal items, which I did... plus
Clean but basic, good location downtown. Bath towels are small. Friendly staff.
The hotel was pretty good, excellent if you look at the price. Breakfast was very good, and the location couldn't be better (practically the main subway station is just 200 feet away). Would stay there again, especially if I was on a budget.
Good value for money. Being down one end of Robson St, it's not quite as convenient as some places but can still walk to Stanley Park end in 25 minutes and both bus and Metro are close. Also close to Yaletown area and ferry access to Granville Island. Staff helpful in organising some tours for us. We were there on weeknights and noise was acceptable - might be noisier on weekends.
My room was a good size and had surprisingly had a full kitchen. My only minor annoyance was that soap was in a dispenser that was hard to press, so I got my own hand soap. A full cold breakfast is available up to 11am in the summer which I appreciated. The hotel is a block from a major metro station and St. Catherine St. which is closed to traffic in that area and makes for great walking and... plus
We appreciated having two rooms (a bedroom and kitchen area) for our two-day stay. The bed was comfortable and the bedroom was very quiet (though the window-unit air conditioner was a bit loud). My only complaint about the staff is that the receptionist called me back to the lobby after I had checked in, so that he could put an... plus
For me this hotel was perfect. Ultra-clean, comfortable, roomy, great staff, perfect continental breakfast, great location to Metro hub, and great price.
If you spend to spend all day and most of the evening in the city, then this is the hotel for you. The included breakfast has a good range of cold foods and good coffee. It's a nice old hotel and well located. The staff is super friendly. I was reading others reviews of the hotel and if you want a 5 star hotel you NEED TO PAY. I stay here the next time. From Puerto Rico
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights and were most impressed. The price was very inexpensive (even after adding an additional $15/night for secure underground parking) for the central location and the rooms were comfortable and spacious. The in-room kitchenette was clean and well-maintained. The beds were quite comfortable and we slept soundly. Rooms come with free WiFi internet which was... plus

We had booked our room well in advance, one reason we booked it was because they had said that they could accommodate three people in separate sleeping arrangements ( I assumed 2 beds and a pull out sofa) it cost us $250/night (it was grand prix weekend so inflated prices were expected) we get there and we go into out room to be disappointed with the fact that there was only 1 bed and a sofa.... plus
Yes I will recommend to others and would like to stay again if we visit Montreal again. For future improvement: in-room washing and dryer machine for laundry, or common facility to be used by guests. Good value for money.
The hotel wasn't what I expected it to be at all. For one, it was unsanitary - my bed sheets had holes and stains on them. The 'kitchen' they mentioned in the ad was a sink. There wasn't a stove, a microwave, or an oven. It wasn't a good value for the money. The employees at the hotel were helpful, and having free breakfast every morning was nice. But I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

If you smoke, go for it. room was clean but I had asked for a non smoking. My room was not ready at 3:00, i had to come back an hour later. Internet - wired, not wireless - did not work.
