I stayed overnight for business. Great location, friendly staff. The room was comfortable but nothing spectacular, given the price. The lighting was dim and outlets to plug in electronics were not easy to access. No free wifi - not cool given the price. Given the price point, I'd look for another hotel next time.

Disappointing, to say the least

We visited the Hotel Arts last night for a nice "staycation." Boy, were we underwhelmed.
First off, we found something gross pressed between the pages of the room's info packet. The local television channels had no signal, and the bathroom was disgusting (see photos). I've been to a lot of hotels and that was the worst tub I've seen yet.... more

Not bad

I spent 2 nights at Arts on a business trip. Great location in central Calgary, and pretty decent all in all. The room needed minor repairs (few things missing or broken here and there). The breakfast was terrible though.

Nice Hotel

Hotel was in a good location, easy to access restaurants and bars and coffee shops. No problems with this stay, and easy to park the car in their covered parking for $10 per night (though there is uncovered public parking 1 block away for $5).

Somehow a month ago I researched this hotel to be one of the best in Calgary and since discovered many have experienced the same. The staff are great and service oriented. Amazing wedding venue!! The staff is very professional and easy to work with, the location is perfect, and the food was fantastic (we had several comments from our guests that the food was the best they have ever had at a wedding). Awesome place for food and drinks as well as staying

This is a great trendy place to hang out in Calgary. The good is always over the top no matter what restaurant you are in. The drinks are the best in town with award winning mixologist's. We have spent many special occasions here and I highly recommend it.

Great Location!

This hotel is the perfect location for anyone that is going to Calgary for something downtown. You can walk everywhere that you would need to get to.This was a great location for getting to BMO centre. (about 10min walk)If we needed to get food, the Sunterra market was 5min away.

Had my parents come in from Beverly Hills. Saturday evening - while unloading them IN THE CITY OF CALGARY UNLOADING zone, in a ghost town, a RUDE "bellman" demanded i move my vehicle - excuse me i am guest i am unloading. Very Unprofessional. DIDNt offer to help.

Yes, I am a fan of this hotel. I love that it doesn't look like every other hotel, that the art is indeed local art and it's tasteful and beautiful - and this extends to the rooms. Hotel arts is a great oasis in the heart of Calgary. Although I have never stayed in the rooms, I have have worked with the ballrooms and Raw Bar, along with the pool area.

My wife and I, along with our two month old son, stayed here a few weeks ago and were very satisfied with our stay. With friendly staff, a distinct artistic feel throughout, and comfortable beds, we left well rested and excited to come back.

Pros: Good location within a 10 minute walk to the stampede and the main shopping area. Swift response to any concerns by hotel staff, free paper at the front desk and charming lobby but our room was small and dark.

Since my last review, I was contacted by a Hotel Arts manager and asked to give them another chance. Nice design and style, comfy racks with plenty of room to roam, art on the walls, music ranging form deep ambient techno to... classical? in the lobby, a hip swank pool in the lobby and a couple of high-end attached bars and restaurants. I've stayed at Hotel Arts many times and liked it but had no idea they had such basic rooms available. It was ok. A comfortable bed and decent space but the bathroom was tiny with a lousy shower stall. I would recommend booking directly with the hotel for a better room.

I'm really glad that other people have had good experiences here, me not so much.

The hotel itself is decent. I love the art and the glass, but the bedding is horrible and scratchy. No wi-fi in the rooms... are you kidding? You want me to use a cable and you want to charge me? Not gonna happen.

The location of the hotel was very good-close to Telus Convention Center-restaurants-shops-walking distance. The bed was soooo uncomfortable. I woke up with back pain. Within easy walking distance of artist run centres and the Glenbow Museum (as well as the Avenue Diner -- a breakfast must!). Staff was courteous and efficient. The room was well appointed. Will stay here again.

This is a hip, pseudo avant-garde hotel, just outside of the main downtown/city area. Hotel Arts is a beautiful establishment. They offer modern flare and an artsy decor that screams gorgeous. Their stunning lobby is just the beginning. The rooms are sleek, immaculate, and a perfect place to get a great night's sleep.

My wife and I enjoyed a romantic weekend away from the kids and our experience at Hotel Arts was nothing short of fantastic. Staff are super friendly and eager to help. Rooms are very cool (beds are incredible and the enormous flat screen TV was a nice touch).

Surrounding area a bit rough. Hotel itself very comfy, esp the beds. Large amount of construction work going on in the area right now, so expect relevant noises to commence around 0700. Staf good, very friendly. Rooms had huge LCD TVs in them, I was able to play movies from my laptop through them

Liked the decor but not necessarily to everyones taste. Friendly staff, great restaurant and very comfortable bed.
