Set on the water's edge, the Penticton Lakeside Resort has its own stretch of sandy Lake Okanagan beachfront, where guests can sunbathe or stroll along the adjacent pier. The deluxe suites feature Jacuzzis, and the lakeside rooms are highly recommended for their view. Stayed in the hotel Aug 7 and 8, 2018. Had a terrible experience. The pool was filled with a toilet paper like substance. I chose this hotel because as a single parent I wanted an indoor pool for my kids to enjoy. We reported the issue to the front desk. The response was "eww gross". No offer to send someone to clean it, no apology and no offer to call us when it was cleaned up. My children... more
This hotel has helped out with a few non profit charitable fundraiser I have done, and I believe they deserve a huge shout out!
I have also stayed here numerous times! Their hotel is huge! The lobby is adorable and very comfortable! I am saddened the casino is gone!
The hotel is right in okanogen lake with beautiful views if you get the back hotel. The hotel has its own boat launch 2...

Was so disappointed in staying here for 4 nights. Paid good money to have 3 king size bed LAKEVIEW rooms. We were told that we should stay in the "new building" as it was MUCH nicer than the old. WRONG. rooms may have been quite nice, but our LAKEVIEW was the parking lot, overlooking a noisy park with trucks and cars idling in the parking lot and a sliver of the lake. I would... more
We just finished our three night stay here and are already making plans to come back. This resort has fantastic amenities, is clean, safe, wonderful location and we absolutely loved the private beach. Staff was incredibly friendly and helpful and we can't wait to come back. Thank you for the wonderful vacation!
We stayed for two nights in June and I would never recommend this place to anyone. They make it look like a fairly nice place on the website, calling themselves practical and elegance, when in reality it's not even remotely elegant. I understand they have no control over the construction happening next door, however, they do have control over the fact that their accommodations look more like a... more
We had paid extra for the lake view room, there was loud construction the entire stay. I was not overly thrilled to see my upgrade was the view of a ladder and construction work. When discussed with front desk I was advised they couldn't do anything about it. I appreciate when places acknowledge issues, but the staff were quick to dismiss my concerns. It was poorly handled to say the least.
Checked into the resort on December 29 2016. When hooking up the ps3 to the TV i found a old package of Canadian bacon back there. Informed and brought it to the front desk. The front desk assured me they would get back to me in three days. Upon checking out, i again informed the front desk of the ordeal.3 days later....nothingOne week later....nothing8 days later, i contact the resort, the... more
My Mom was overcharged for a wedding she went to and I emailed the hotel about it.... I was surprised on how Nathalie handled my issue. She refunded the card used in the amount of overage and apologized .. I was upset at first but their customer service was exceptional.. Thanks for making this experience pleasant
This was our second time we stayed there, only because our first stay there three years ago was absolutely fantastic. This time around we found that the air conditioning unit was extremely noisy but since we had no reservation and booked as a walk in and there were no other rooms available we tolerated this annoying inconvenience. The food at the Hooded Merganzer restaurant was very good as... more
This place could be a gem. But sadly it isn't. I'm here in august, prime time. The place is dirty, under construction, nothing works. The servers and employees don't know what good service means. The WiFi doesn't work unless you sit at the front desk. The ATM machines don't work. The card readers on the elevator and rooms take 3 or 4 tries each time. The sink doesn't drain, the shower has zero... more
Perfect place to find people drunk!
I was there during the holiday (Victoria Day) and under my balcony had 2 bars. Too much noise! And many people drunk arrived after 2am screaming like a crazy.
I posted a pic with the warning: "to avoid patio noise, please close door".
Pool ok
Good location
The food ok
the lobby was beautifully decorated for christmas, the staff was pleasant and helpful. however the beds are extremely uncomfortable and the rooms don't get warm and it was freezing outside
Experience was great. /staff was willing to please. Great location.
Located right on Lake Okanagan and downtown, this hotel has a casino plus three places to eat and a gym plus pool. Nice rooms, good prices and friendly staff. pets ok.
First of all I didn't understand why we had to pay for parking?? #2. If Three adults are to stay in that room. For $15 extra dollars you can't put in extra cups for tea and coffee. #3. We would of like another resturant say to have Breakfast?? Other than that the Hotel was Decorated very Beautiful and the Casino staff were Really, Really nice all of them!!
hotel offers a great place to kick back, hotel has great perks just ask, food was fantastic, staff very helpful. two thumbs up!!
Check-in went smoothly. The room was fine. The temperature was a bit difficult to control, but the window opened, so it was adjustable.
Great location. Parked the car upon arrival and didn't move it for 2 days. Everything is close at hand. Very relaxing and great food. The Farmer's Market on Saturdays is amazing and right across the street!
stayed in this hotel before, but can see it now needs tlc. the lake view was really nice, however we also looked onto a roof with moss, cigarette butts and trash. our room was above the nightclub and was extremely loud until 2:30 in the morning. stay away from these rooms. there was also broken glass on the patio. the beds were great, but the décor (brass) was a little dated. the sliding glass... more
No problems for finding restaurants, recreational activities and including night club.
had a good time , good location , lots to see and do
If you're in town for Challenge Penticton this is the place to stay. So close to the start and the finish, perfect to be able to catch all the action on race day and still be able to be close to home!
We only had a 2 night stay but it is a nice hotel and location in Penticton. We were at a wedding and the reception was wonderful. The food was great. Only down side was 215/night
There was a significant lack of service with this hotel. There was no one to welcome or assist with luggage at arrival or check out. The pool area was really dirty. The beds were worn and sagging in the middle. Ice machines were broken. Hair dryer was broken. Limited beach services. We had hoped to enjoy a "nicer" hotel for the last two days of our vacation. The resort was overpriced and... more
This hotel is a bit older but we'll staffed and great location. If they did a bit of updating it would be a 5 across the board. Little on the pricey side but extremely convenient to the beach, downtown area and Che channel.
We really enjoyed our room as it had a lake view. It was a standard hotel room, clean and comfortable, but carpet needs to be cleaned or updated. I support their efforts to help the environment by giving the option of housekeeping on a daily basis or on demand. We used the $10 coupon given for not using housekeeping for the restaurant/bar in the hotel. Food was good, but expensive as most... more
right on beach...room was clean and staff was pleasant
For the price we paid, 260.00 - I thought that I was staying in an updated hotel with posh amenities and excellent beds. Not the case. The rooms were much worse than a mediocre hotel .... The bedding consisted of a sheet, thin blanket and I was awoke at 3 am because I was so cold. The tub was small, carpet was old as well as the furniture. Usually I stay at the Summerland Waterfront Hotel for... more
The staff was friendly and helpful. Not very happy with the Hotel Bar as after a certain time they require a cover charge. Since we're guests at the hotel, shouldn't it be complimentary? But overall stay was amazing. Location was great and close to everything!
We loved the restaurants on the water and the sandy beach access to the lake. Great for eating and swimming with a view. We had a room with a nice lake view.
No issues, all worked well. We will go for a 3rd time whenever the time comes.
This is a very average hotel that needs a serious facelift; the carpets are old and need to be replaced, the sign is missing letters, couches in the lobby are dusty and look like they came from a local garage sale. Room was decent but do not spend the extra 30-40$ for a 'lake view' room, we did and ended up with a view over a parking lot and the end of the lake- all in all, we paid 280$ for a... more
Spent 5 days at this hotel. Clean, convenient location, would definitely stay again.
enjoyed activites attached to hotel. staff were very helpful.
I had asked for a Quiet room as I had heard the lakefront area could be noisy above the bar area if your room , and guess what? That is exactly where they put us! They checked the computer and saw that I had asked for quiet when I booked by Expedia. Couldn't move because they were full.
The only thing that I feel was a problem was the service in the hotel's restaurants. Service was very, very slow.
We enjoyed the resort itself, with its private beach and fairly nice restaurant. The location is excellent and the service was great. Unfortunately none of our party got a good night's sleep either of the nights we stayed there, primarily because of the room's noisy and uncomfortable air conditioning system.
Location of hotel is great, close to restaurants and festivities that are happening in Penticton. We were there for Canada Day, July 1, great view from hotel of fireworks and they also had a band playing in the evening which was great. We were able to sit on our balcony and enjoy all of the entertainment. Hotel could use an update but was clean and the hotel staff was very helpful.
The front desk took care of all our needs in the most prompt fashion imaginable. Grant at the front desk was exceptionally helpful.
Hotel staff was Amazing! Room was spotless. Normally I don't sleep well at hotels, but I slept like a rock. Starbucks coffee in the rooms. Lots to see and do. Lakeside view worth the extra money. Lots of parking. Wifi signal was good. Didn't want to leave!
We were not advised that we needed reservations for the main restaurant, the secondary restaurant had been booked for a private party and we had to dine with our guests in the bar.
The Lakeside is conveniently located on Okanagan Lake right at the end of main street. Close to restaurants and shops. Great walking path along the water and beautiful views. Eat in the hotel - breakfast was fantastic at the Hooded Merganser except for the fact that we were turned away one morning as the hostess said there was a long wait - the restaurant was half empty and there was no one... more
We enjoyed our stay at Lakeside Resort. We found the Bufflehead Restaurant a delight but were not as impressed with the Hooded Meganzer.
We were there for a wedding. Arrived at 1:30.. was told that my room was not yet ready, as it is a 4:00 check-in. Was told I would be called as soon as it were ready, as I had many boxes etc for the wedding. Came back at 6 and the room was ready. No call. No explanation. Wedding was wonderful and went well into the evening. Was unpleasantly surprised by a housekeeper knocking loudly and... more
We were in town for a wedding and the location of the hotel was perfect. Close to the convention centre for the reception and to the other hotels out friends were at. It was perfect to go for a morning walk on the beach, to get lunch by the water and a fire after dark in the sand. Only thing I didn't care for was the blankets on the bed but the bed was still comfortable I just like fluffy... more
Friendly staff, clean rooms, overall satisfying place to stay
It is clean and very nice. Everything is bang on but it is a bit pricey, would rather stay at a place more reasonable in price.
The staff are pleasant, there are many activities with in the hotel, the location to the beach and downtown shopping was great. The rooms are a bit small, beds and pillows were great, having more options for upgrading would have been nice. Overall it was a pretty convenient and comfortable stay.
With options in Penticton. This is probably your best choice. Clean but dated. Great views. Casino. Best service in lounge!!
Great location but a 4-star rating is a bit generous. It needs a bit of redecorating and the front desk is at times understaffed and painfully slow.
On arrival we were especially pleased to find I was Guest for the Day and we enjoyed the upgrades, especially the lovely breakfast at the Merganza Restaurant. The staff were very helpful in every way and added to the enjoyment of your hotel.
Was good for the best part... My girlfriend struggled with her key the whole time even after getting re-keyed 3 times....good thing we were adjoining, she just got into her room through mine. We were also not thrilled about being above the bar/nightclub.
Beds were good. Reception was friendly and helpful. Room was stale smelling. Kept sliding doors open most of night.. The pub was dirty but the servers and service was actually good. Bar food was average and poutine was cold. Not a deal at 140 dollars. View from the room was good
Potential guests should be made aware of the fact that on mon. And tues. There is no breakfast available within the hotel, only next door at the hooded mergansa, which isnt to bad if weather is pleasent. Some room's with kingsize bed would be an asset,
The main reason I stay here, and probably the same reason others do, is the private beach. Seriously. You may think "Oh, I'll make do with the public ones". Sure, ok. Here, there's no crowds, you have a nice cut of the beach, and there's a little bar thingy where you can order anything from a sprite to a cocktail to a burger delivered to your chair, where you can enjoy it in shade or sunlight.... more
Great place to get away for a night or two and dog are allowed as well.
Would not stay there no eating facilities and was noisey with all the teams staying there. This hotel is past it's glory days
We stayed here on the August long weekend for three nights, specifically to go to a concert. I booked the hotel in late December or early January to make sure we would get a nice room. I selected a "lake front" room at the time of booking - $250/night, prepaid. For that price, I was expecting a little more than what we got.
After months of anticipation, we drove from Vancouver to Penticton....

The food was excellent. I had the Bri Cheese Appetizer with Flat Bread and the Curry Chicken for the main Course.
Service was superb.
The best thing of all was to see the Vegetable Garden in clear View of the eating Area. The Merganser is actually growing their own Herbs. This Place is a family Restaurant not overly prized and a Place to return to.
My husband had some business in the area, and I tagged along. The room was booked via his business, but we decided to add one extra day to our expense. That threw the staff in for a loop. We were told we had to switch rooms because the rates were different (one had a better view of the parking lot than the other, yahoo!). The "new" room was not ready by the time we were told to vacate the "old"... more
As good as it gets here in the Okanagan.
The hotel is clean, safe, centrally located, within walking distance to the beach and the best 'downtown' shopping in Penticton.
I would say that you may want to ask if your room is situated anywhere near or above the bar/club at the hotel... if so, it won't be a comfortable sleep for you.
The hotel has a nice breakfast place (indoor and a patio) on...

A friend and I wanted to get out of Vancouver and decided to head to Penticton for a couple of days. We stayed at the lakeside resort and had a fabulous time. It was located right on the lake and was a great... more
I always stay here when I have to go to Penticton for business. The view overlooking the lake is astounding, there is no better location in the town. Most of the people who work there seem to enjoy their job and are friendly and helpful. The front desk people... more
Be sure to get a table on the patio in the summer - you'll be sitting right on the water's edge. Beautiful! Just be careful of the wind - there's many keys and sunglasses at the bottom of the lake!
Another first to review - yelp needs more folks from the BC Interior!
I was a bit apprehensive coming here due to the negative comments on TripAdvisor. I was worried for no reason!
I booked into a business class room which I totally recommend - it was $189/night on the long weekend. It's about 40 dollars more a night from the standard and totally worth it. I had a king room with a lake view....

Sept. 08, My husband and I stayed at this hotel and had a decent visit. Sept. 09, we booked ahead, which we didn't do in '08,to ensure we had enough space for us, 3 kids & dog.
