Great location, very good hotel

The location is great. Very rich breakfest. Nice and comfortable room, enough space, large bed.
Note that if you come by car, you should come on st. urbain street. Parking expensive.

Dreary and Dated. Great location though

I stayed here for 3 nights over the Easter long weekend. The hotel is not much to boast about. Every day my room keys stopped working so I had to go get new ones - the room was farthest from the elevator so this was frustrating.

Although the location was superb...in between old montreal and downtown and right across the street from the Metro.
Front staff was friendly and helpful but the lineup was quite long when I had to only validate my parking ticket.

I stay in Montreal every week and this Holiday Inn has a few weak points compared to other hotels in the vicinity. The elevators go straight from the ground to the rooms w/o having to pass through the lobby, the hallways are very dimly lit and the room appointments are below standard for a true 3 star hotel. 4 Day weekend to Montreal

I read all of the reviews on this hotel and they run the gamut from real bad to real good. My opinion from our recent stay would have this property somewhere in the middle. A brand you can rely on? Let down by the lack of an in house bar/snack facility. The In house restaurant served Chinese food only and was extremely open and cold in temperature and atmosphere.

The hotel is most convenient to visitors looking to explore the downtown area. It is also right across the street from the Convention Center, including a metro station. Great location

Conveniently located between the old port and downtown Montreal near Chinatown, this hotel has all the basic comforts you would expect plus a swimming pool and hot tub. In 5 minutes you can walk to Place Jacques-Cartier or Place Des Arts. The room decor was basic and clean with a comfortable bed. My girlfriend and I greatly enjoyed our weekend trip and would definitely stay here again.

OK hotel in Old Montreal location

Check-in personal provided superb service with reservations for hard-to-get-in restaurants, with directions and with luggage.Hotel itself is a bit outdated but location is hard to beat and price is very competitive.

Single getaway

My experience at this hotel was wonderful! The room was great and the location was very good.

Convenient and comfortable

We chose this hotel since it's the closest to the metro station we use to go to Circuit Gilles Villeneuve for the F1 race. It's also located right in chinatown area, so grabbing a quick bite is very easy and convenient.There is parking underneath the hotel. It's now $23/night. It used to be free.

A decent hotel...not particularly nice

Hotel was okay. Not very clean. There were hairs in the tub n other spots inside bathroom. It is centrally located and especially worth it if visiting for meetings at the Palais De Congres because it's very close. All in all i wouldnt go back but it could work for the budget traveler.

Very Mediocre

Location was on the edge of Chinatown, but not overtly so. If you don't need to be in Chintown, other hotels might afford being closer to Downtown shopping. Very walkable to Old Montreal. Easy Metro (subway) access. Indoor pool was COLD! Rooms were roomy and comfortable. Although it was a decent value for the money, I'd probably spend a bit more next time for a newer hotel.

Escape to relaxation

Enjoyed my stay here last weekend. I enjoyed staying at this location because it is close to Chinatown and diagonal from the Palais de Congres. It is quite clean in the rooms. The other benefits were the pool and jacuzzi. It doesn't seem like many people use these facilities because I was the only one there besides my husband!

The hotel is in an excellent location and very close the Metro. The room we had was fine but we did hear noise from the room next door due to a connector door that was not fitted properly.

This is the worst hotel I have stayed in since going overseas with the US Navy back in the 70s.Very small rooms. Every lamp had rusty switches, shades and bases. Nice cosy hotel for not too expensive :)

I would advise it to any business man because it is just in front of the Congress center. It is not too expensive, it is a restful hotel, there is a gym center (even though at this time the pool was closed...) and the Chinese style Hall is awesome. Dining room,slow. Not really good at giving options ex: breakfast menu/buffet.Waiters not good at giving menus, just really suggested buffets which were more expensive. Hotel is in a good location and clean. China Town is right next store and it is an easy walk to Old Montreal and the Montreal Jazz Festival. The Jazz Festival was fantastic! The hotel needs updating. Ok for business

The staff was very friendly but the hotel seemed to be under renovation. The room was large but looked like they never upgraded the bathrooms to this decade. It was functional for the $ but pretty uninspiring. The lobby was very nice though. Gym was a joke.

The housekeeping service was terrible. They thought that I had checked out of my room when I still had 3 nights left. Everything left in my room was thrown away or stolen, including my MP3 player and documents containing my social security number. The room never got cleaned one night and the next day they took all of the towels but never replaced them. Overall...a terrible stay with no... more
