Wasn't overly impressed with the room, bathroom was very small. Guests were actually parked in the covered through-way while they checked in completely blocking it. We had to run out in the rain (on our way to a wedding) as our husbands couldn't pull up to the entrance due to parked cars. We arrived at the wedding soaking wet. Perhaps there should be no parking there??

I stayed here for two nights, paid $227 a night. The room was extremely poor - it was a ground floor handicap-accessible room in not great condition. The lightswitches were all about a foot low, there were hooks everywhere in the ceiling, and the shower had no tub - it was just part of the bathroom floor. We booked with Holiday Inn because they are the only waterfront hotel with balconies. I thought it was a very nice hotel with clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Although wifi is free, it is limited. For a fee, you will be charged to use "upgraded wifi" which allows you to stream video's to watch on your Ipad or Kindle.

took the car once to get to the fort. shops and restaurants within walking distance. beds were supper comfortable. the balcony we had was tiny and needed to be cleaned badly. Getting hit for parking- $16 per night was a bit steep. Loved Kingston!!

Over priced for the condition of the room

The hotel staff was wonderful but the bathroom could have been much cleaner. We had a great view of the waterfront from our balcony but the balcony itself was quite dirty.

Favorite Kngston hotel

My wife and I have stayed here many times over the years, including earlier this summer. Everything about our visit was excellent, with the exception of the outdoor pool still being out of commission. Outdoor patio with live music on weekends was a lot of fun. Staff was very pleasant and professional, as usual. You can't beat the location of this hotel.

Weekend trip

All balconies dirty and covered with spiders and spider webs. Hotel is not kid friendly. We were here for a soccer tournament and the children wanted to relax a bit on the small grass area next to the pool but they were asked to leave in a very impolite way because that area was reserved for wedding's only. Guess what? There wasn't a single wedding there all weekend. Shame on the hotel.

Perfect location, but needs renovation. The size of the rooms are very good, the bathroom needs to upgrade.

the hotel is by the waterfront in downtown, close to many cute restaurants. Parking is $15 but i found out later that parking on the street is free after 5:30 pm (may be weekend too?) Hotel is not new but is kept in good condition. Comfy bed.

Very nice hotel close to city center and all major attractions. Recommend.

Great location

The real issue we had was the water. Shower was difficult to figure out, bathroom tap dripped and was hard to adjust. The hotel did send someone to explain the shower very quickly, but since she said this happens all of the time wouldn't you think that they would leave instructions on how to operate or even change it?

Carpet was dirty. Deadbolt lock couldn't lock. Toilet seemed to be leaking. Bathroom sink faucet was so stiff that an arthritic or weak elderly person would have a difficult time to turn it on. I thought the parking fee was a bit high.

This hotel is centrally located in downtown Kingston and is on the water. The rooms are standard, however, the desk is a well-designed L-shaped (good for business travellers). The staff were very cordial and helpful. Good place to stay in downtown Kingston, especially given the price.
Also, the bathroom felt as though it had heated floors, which is always nice.

Loved it! We never did see the pool though and it was not suggested. We probably would have used the pool but there was no sign indicating where it was so we forgot about it. Over-all the place was great and the desk clerks were tremendously helpful with directions and even helped me get my phone working again. Certainly would recommend it and use it again sometime.

Last minute not-so-bargain.

Arrived only to discover that my booking with Expedia for April 30 thru May 3 was forwarded to Holiday Inn as a booking for November 1. Fortunately, Holiday Inn had an emergency spare room. But in the process I discovered Expedia had charged me a 50% surcharge. The free wireless Internet was free only up to 1.5MB -- a pittance. Our room did not have hot water as a matter of fact we had to shower in cool water before we went out for the evening, I did call the front desk not sure if anyone came up to fix it while we were out but had another cool shower in the morning, so wasn`t very pleased about that.

NIce hotel, superb location

We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront. It's not as nice as the other Holiday Inn in Kingston (beside the 401), but likely it's just because this is a much older hotel. The room was small but clean and the hotel staff were nice. It was quiet at night and we had a nice swim/sauna downstairs which our daughter loved. All in all, a very good experience.

No water bottle

Great location however upon my arrival i discovered an empty mini fridge.
The least a hotel could do is supply a complimentary water bottle to guests instead of charging 4 bucks for the bottle and service.
No bathrobe either.
Restaurant closed around 9, so don't expect room service after that hour.

Despite being half full, we were given a room overlooking the car park. When we asked to be moved to the opposite side with a water view they accommodated us in a room against a wall which jutted out which meant a) no view of the bay b) more annoyingly right above the amplified live music stage in the bar. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and there was everything necessary for a comfortable stay, i.e. laundry facilities, coffee maker, etc.

The gym was dingy and right beside the indoor pool (very humid). There was a rickety old fan that doesn't work and no drinking water available. Also, very few television channels available.

Ho prenotato una camera water front ed effettivamente mi è stata assegnata una stanza vista mare. Peccato che la finestra dava sul tetto del ristorante dove ristagnava una pozza d'acqua piena di insetti, soprattutto zanzare. Ovviamente non abbiamo potuto usare il terrazzino fronte mare!

Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht. Die Zimmereinrichtung ist völlig überaltert. Das Badezimmer ebenfalls und zudem schlecht gepflegt (verkalkte Dusche). Eine Auffrischung würde gut tun.

We like the waterfront location. It is always a pleasure to walk around the waterfront and stop for homemade ice cream or visit the Guild Craftshop

It is far too pricey for what it is. And it always has been. Interestingly, we stay there to sleep but we never eat there. For some reason, the lounge or dining area has not been inviting.

The hotel had an array of entertainment during the weekend - unfortunately it rained so the music was halted - they need a permanent gazebo! The kids loved the swimming pool. Great balcony overlooking the harbour. Great location for visiting historic Kingston. Its well worth a stop off to visit the town.

Only 10 persons in the pool allowed ! Sometimes you just have to wait. very loud bars around. but close to the city center.

It should have been nice to sit out on the balcony, but it was very dirty, and covered in spiders webs. The ceiling was covered in squashed dead insects. bedroom had not been dusted for a while. tired and dated.

The room are a good size and was clean. The fridge was large.

No Microwave in Suite. For the cost, I think there should have been one. There was a spot in the cabinet below the TV for one. Housekeeping missed cleaning our room on a 2 night stay, even though the staff were on the floor most of the day.

Front desk staff could not provide any info as to what was happening in the city that weekend. No breakfast offered as part of the price,which as it was already very over priced. The hotel is somewhat tired in the decor in the rooms.Our tub took for ever to drain after a shower & the shower was very difficult to regulate due to the handle being loose. loved the location and the fact our balcony overlooked the harbour. Rooms were clean and comfortable.

Excellent location - easy access to restaurants etc... 2xpools good for kids.

Room wasn't clean , showed lack of proper cleaning checks - wasn't just a one off, several items showed room hadn't been cleaned properly for some time. Whole place seemed to lack a management steer. Overall worse than the two star holiday inn express we stayed in the night before.

Great 1000 Island holiday

The hotel location was great, all what you needed were next door. Staff was very professional and friendly.The only thing I would change was the freezing cold dining room. Hot breakfast was cold before you reached you table.Lucky us the room temperature was monitored from the room, so we got the room temperature on comfortable level. On arrival the room was freezing cold too.

The clerk personnel were very friendly, you felt welcomed. All you need for a place to rest at a convenient price.I may suggest the hotel to have something more that a sandwiches for lunch.

The hotel carpet and furniture are kind of old. The first floor resterant is under construction. We have more than 2 adults stay in the same room but breakfast coupon are only good for two. Great City, Good Hotel

Nice view of the lakefront. Room was clean, spacious and large. It was a bit noisy in the hallways during the day due to a kids minor hockey tournament. But everything else was great.

Not such great value for your money

The Holiday Inn Kingston was overpriced and the customer service was far from cordial. Won't be staying there again - that's for sure. From the maids making LOTS of noise talking in the hall at 8AM to the moron in the room next door leaving his alarm on from 815 onwards - not going back.
