Wasn't overly impressed with the room, bathroom was very small. Guests were actually parked in the covered through-way while they checked in completely blocking it. We had to run out in the rain (on our way to a wedding) as our husbands couldn't pull up to the entrance due to parked cars. We arrived at the wedding soaking wet. Perhaps there should be no parking there??
I stayed here for two nights, paid $227 a night. The room was extremely poor - it was a ground floor handicap-accessible room in not great condition. The lightswitches were all about a foot low, there were hooks everywhere in the ceiling, and the shower had no tub - it was just part of the bathroom floor. The least they could have done was take the big metal and plastic handicap shower seat out... more
The bathroom sink had a hole in it - covered up with tape!
Too expensive and breakfast and parking not included. Same or better can be easily found nearby for less.
Very comfortable hotel. No problem to stay. There are laundry machine good for long stay.
Room facilities are too old and rundown. Need complete upgrade to uplift hotel standard.
Within walking distance of shops, Tim Hortons' and Subway !!! Hotel was basically full with a Writer's conference .. so these were great substitutes for a breakfast and/or lunch. Staff great, we were a "late arrival" and no problem at all.
Great location and friendly attentive staff. Checkin in and out couldn't have been more of a breeze. The room was very confortable and clean.
This hotel is located within walking distance of everything we were interested in seeing while in Kingston. The room was clean and the staff helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
it was horrible with bugs in my room when i came in about 10:30 pm.
We were excited to be staying so close to the waterfront in Kingston. However, we were disappointed with how poorly it appeared to be taken care of. The carpets in the hallways were all grubby and in need of a good vacuum and in our room we could not use the bath because the plug did not stay down. THis would have been fine in a hotel that cost under $100 a night, but really unacceptable at the... more
The restaurant had poor service and the food was not very good. The outdoor pool was great but the indoor pool had a ring of residue.
booking thru expedia was not he greatest , I had thought that we had booked a king bed, but reecieved two double beds which is not what we wanted, for the price we could have been staying at the delta, (delta was full) maid service was good, front desk people were just ok, our room looked beat up and could be renovated,
Great. Hotel,is a little older and showing its age in some areas but over great location and clean.
Enjoyed our stay. Lots to do in the area. Staff was friendly and tried best to accommodate. The bedding linens needed upgrade.
We booked with Holiday Inn because they are the only waterfront hotel with balconies. We did have a balcony, however there was a large crab apple tree that was over grown, and blocked any view from the balcony. Waterfront and or even parking lot. The mattresses in both double /queen beds should have been replaced years ago. The room was very musty smelling. The facility really should be torn... more
I thought it was a very nice hotel with clean rooms, friendly and helpful staff. Although wifi is free, it is limited. For a fee, you will be charged to use "upgraded wifi" which allows you to stream video's to watch on your Ipad or Kindle.
took the car once to get to the fort. shops and restaurants within walking distance. beds were supper comfortable. the balcony we had was tiny and needed to be cleaned badly. Getting hit for parking- $16 per night was a bit steep. Loved Kingston!!
Close to restaurants, shops, water, and the market.
Had an amazing time in Kingston, just steps away from the boat cruise to 1000 island and to the souvenir shops.
I stayed one night with my family last weekend. The hotel was okay. Nice outside summing pool. Breakfast below average. Great area.
The room was just ok, but very expensive. On my trip I stayed at for more luxurious hotels for less than half the price
The hotel staff was wonderful but the bathroom could have been much cleaner. We had a great view of the waterfront from our balcony but the balcony itself was quite dirty.
My wife and I have stayed here many times over the years, including earlier this summer. Everything about our visit was excellent, with the exception of the outdoor pool still being out of commission. Outdoor patio with live music on weekends was a lot of fun. Staff was very pleasant and professional, as usual. You can't beat the location of this hotel.
All balconies dirty and covered with spiders and spider webs. Hotel is not kid friendly. We were here for a soccer tournament and the children wanted to relax a bit on the small grass area next to the pool but they were asked to leave in a very impolite way because that area was reserved for wedding's only. Guess what? There wasn't a single wedding there all weekend. Shame on the hotel.
Perfect location, but needs renovation. The size of the rooms are very good, the bathroom needs to upgrade.
Overall a very good experience. One thing that MUST be address is the cleanliness of the indoor pool! The pool inside walls are - look dirty!
Being able to walk to attractions, by the trolley or by a short drive.
This hotel is located right on the waterfront and in downtown Kingston. It was beautiful. Lots to do in easy walking distance. The room/bed was clean and very comfortable. We would recommend this hotel..
A big thank you to Kyle and Tanya who took the time to answer my questions. My appreciation to the housekeeping staff. A job well done. A pleasure to see Pat again. A great way to start the day being served by her.
Room was fine and generally clean. Bathtub had a little mold and a silverfish.
Loved the location and they took great care of us. The hotel needs some maintenance, but can't be beat evenso.
the hotel is by the waterfront in downtown, close to many cute restaurants. Parking is $15 but i found out later that parking on the street is free after 5:30 pm (may be weekend too?) Hotel is not new but is kept in good condition. Comfy bed.
Very nice hotel close to city center and all major attractions. Recommend.
The real issue we had was the water. Shower was difficult to figure out, bathroom tap dripped and was hard to adjust. The hotel did send someone to explain the shower very quickly, but since she said this happens all of the time wouldn't you think that they would leave instructions on how to operate or even change it?
Definitely will come again to this Hotel!
Carpet was dirty. Deadbolt lock couldn't lock. Toilet seemed to be leaking. Bathroom sink faucet was so stiff that an arthritic or weak elderly person would have a difficult time to turn it on. I thought the parking fee was a bit high.
We got allergies to be in the pets room that they put us before moved to another room
We especially appreciated the bar snacks that were made available shortly after our arrival.
Good location. Reasonable cost. Size of hotel room was fine.
not worth the money, did not get what we asked for, had to pay to park, even talked to the customer service manager, she did not care at all, will definitely not recommend this hotel.
If you have a lot of money, fine. If you want to save some money, stay in the area - meaning Ontario or Princess St, but not necessarily this hotel. It's overpriced for me. At this price I would like a more modern hotel with a way better view. The "king waterfront" view, is not so waterfront if you ask me. I asked to be moved closer to the water, but then had many mosquitoes on our balcony. And... more
Good location in downtown Kingston but hotel interior is a little tired.
This hotel is centrally located in downtown Kingston and is on the water. The rooms are standard, however, the desk is a well-designed L-shaped (good for business travellers). The staff were very cordial and helpful. Good place to stay in downtown Kingston, especially given the price.
Also, the bathroom felt as though it had heated floors, which is always nice.
I recently stayed at this hotel. The service from the front desk was excellent. The view of the water was great, and the location was perfect for downtown restaurants and the university. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.
My son, his wife, my granddaughter and I stayed at the Holiday Inn in Kingston, Ontario for 3 nights in May, 2014. The room was very clean, with plenty of fresh pillows and towels. I stayed at this hotel for one night with my husband for a friend's wedding nearby, and it was a great experience overall. This is my go to hotel when I am in Kingston. Rooms have all be outfitted with new pillows which are fresh and feel great. A clean and comfortable hotel convenient for shops and attractions. Slightly worn around the edges so could be due for a guest room refurb soon. Staff helpful and pleasant. Breakfast buffet plentiful if limited - but, unusually for a chain hotel, included in the room rate. A decent place to stay.
We stayed at this hotel for a little family getaway! We were very impressed with the rooms, cleaned, smelled good, everything worked (lights, tv, etc)! We enjoyed the pool and the staff in the restaurant were great! We had an amazing view from our room! Overall a great place to stay!
What started out as anticipated as a great stay slowly deteriorated. I first must point out the two great positives of this hotel. Observed one employee expertly handling an upset customer over the... more
This is a typical holiday inn property. The thing that stood out for me was the EXCELLENT people they have. The hotel was great! I was there for a convention, and for a smaller city hotel, they put bigger hotels in Toronto to shame. Lots nearby, restaurants and bars, you also have Fort Henry and all the sites this city has to offer.

I recently had the opportunity to stay at the Holiday Inn Waterfront in downtown Kingston. The hotel itself, while overpriced, was OK...not great, not bad. However, when I travel, which is fairly often, I rely on the availability of wireless internet services. This hotel advertises free wifi, which is really stretching the definition of both 'free' and 'wifi'. The basic... more
Loved it! We never did see the pool though and it was not suggested. We probably would have used the pool but there was no sign indicating where it was so we forgot about it. Over-all the place was great and the desk clerks were tremendously helpful with directions and even helped me get my phone working again. Certainly would recommend it and use it again sometime.
Courteous staff, comfortable bed, waterfront view of harbour, walking distance to K Rock centre and downtown core for shopping and dining.
Arrived only to discover that my booking with Expedia for April 30 thru May 3 was forwarded to Holiday Inn as a booking for November 1. Fortunately, Holiday Inn had an emergency spare room. But in the process I discovered Expedia had charged me a 50% surcharge. The free wireless Internet was free only up to 1.5MB -- a pittance. Service upgrades were expensive and still rather limited in size.... more
Our room did not have hot water as a matter of fact we had to shower in cool water before we went out for the evening, I did call the front desk not sure if anyone came up to fix it while we were out but had another cool shower in the morning, so wasn`t very pleased about that.
Very comfortable room, only and overnight stay but very enjoyable
We didn't use any facilities at the hotel, but found our room really comfortable and the hotel centrally located to downtown Kingston and the waterfront. Made for a really nice night away from home.
We enjoyed our stay at the Holiday Inn Kingston Waterfront. It's not as nice as the other Holiday Inn in Kingston (beside the 401), but likely it's just because this is a much older hotel. The room was small but clean and the hotel staff were nice. It was quiet at night and we had a nice swim/sauna downstairs which our daughter loved. All in all, a very good experience.
I recently wrote a not so favourable review of the Kingston Holiday Inn Waterfront. The staff, location and room view were excellent. However, the high room price versus the quality of the room and the ongoing noise from a hotel full of young hockey players was disappointing. I now realize the high room rate was because the hotel was almost... more

We spent the weekend at this great hotel just as we have done on many other occasions. This was a busy weekend for the Holiday Inn but their customer service exceeded our expectations. My very comfortable and clean room on the third floor had a nice view of the Wolfe Island ferry docks and the water. Service was friendly and efficient.

Pleasant stay with absolutely no problems. We ate at the restaurant which I must was really good. Looking forward to going back in the summer and having a glass of wine on their beautiful deck! Rooms were clean and spacious. Excellent overall choice!
Great location however upon my arrival i discovered an empty mini fridge.
The least a hotel could do is supply a complimentary water bottle to guests instead of charging 4 bucks for the bottle and service.
No bathrobe either.
Restaurant closed around 9, so don't expect room service after that hour.
My daughter and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Waterfront for a girls weekend in January. I have stayed at this Holiday Inn in the past with my husband and we really enjoyed it however I found that the quality had declined on my most recent visit.

Hot breakfast was cold before you reached you table.Lucky us the room temperature was monitored from the room, so we got the room temperature on comfortable level. On arrival the room was freezing cold too.
The hotel's facilities were impeccable; the location in Kingston area was perfect. All interesting places were at walking distance. Rooms were neat and spacious. The clerk personnel were very friendly, you felt welcomed. All you need for a place to rest at a convenient price.I may suggest the hotel to have something more that a sandwiches for lunch.
The hotel carpet and furniture are kind of old. The first floor resterant is under construction. We have more than 2 adults stay in the same room but breakfast coupon are only good for two. The nice thing about the hotel is its location. The Thousand Island cruise's departure station is right by the hotel. We got a room with lake view. We saw the Sea Star dinner cruise departure then went down... more
Nice view of the lakefront. Room was clean, spacious and large. It was a bit noisy in the hallways during the day due to a kids minor hockey tournament. But everything else was great.
The Holiday Inn Kingston was overpriced and the customer service was far from cordial. Won't be staying there again - that's for sure. From the maids making LOTS of noise talking in the hall at 8AM to the moron in the room next door leaving his alarm on from 815 onwards - not going back.
This 3 star hotel is located on the coastline of Kingston.
