There seems a to be a lotta hate here for Hillcrest and I don't really know why. OK maybe it's not hate, but if there was a "dislike" button for it I bet it'd get pressed so many times people will think it's an instant cash dispenser switch. Yes, the mall is bland, and the food court looks like something that would have been out of style in 2005 let alone 2015. And after browsing across malls... more
Every child who grew up in Richmond Hill knows about Hillcrest Mall, located just at Yonge & 16th and we know it's not the best mall out there, as there is Markville, Promenade, or Vaughan Mills which is a lot bigger and has more stores. I really only come only if I need to grab something quickly and it's on the way, but I wouldn't say it's best to shop for leisure if you really want to go... more
Pretty decent mall. I like the new Target addition, it adds more variety! Great parking, just wish the mall was brighter!
I used to enjoy coming to Hillcrest mall, but today it has proved to be the lowest of low - quality wise. My dad asked for a 6" sub but they lacked the sense to listen and gave him a 12". And at Thai express I asked for a chicken and beef pad thai to go but they gave it to me in a plate.
2 restaurants in 1 location... Coincidence... I think not. On top of that Thai express couldn't even cook...

Hillcrest has always been a "I have nothing to do, so let's go for the hell of it" mall. It reminds me of Markville Mall from back in the day. Not much has changed, even with new stores taking residence here. The only reason I come: Teavana. Not even with the addition of Target can convince me to come on a regular basis.
I've lived in Richmond Hill long enough to remember when Hillcrest was even more ghetto than it currently is - ya THAT long ago! That's not to say that there hasn't been some improvements over the years but let's just call a spade a spade, this is the last place anyone wants to come shopping given the other options in York Region.
I mean you know a mall is bad when teenagers aren't even...

The mall is super-boring and good to go to if you are not expecting to buy anything. There is a booth(I think they are selling skincare of some sort) in the mall near The Body Shop and I truly wish the people running it would just go away. They stand there with their arms outstretched and ask you if they can ask you a question. Say "no" or else you will get sucked in to buying their products.... more
Hillcrest Mall is a little boring.... but there is nothing really in the area that can be consider as a "Mall", the closest one to the West is Promenade and to the East is Markville.
Clean enough... I usually end up never buy anything here?! It maybe a good if I want to save money, just want to walk around and exercise a little on a cold winter day.
York Region Police also has a community...

HIllcrest mall is in a location that makes sense. I feel like it exists only because there is no other mall in Richmond Hill. Although it isn't the prettiest mall, I do find myself coming here now and then.
There is a variety of stores and food court choices. There's also a Zellers (which I assume will become a Target one day), The Bay, Sports Chek, TD Canada Trust and a Dove Spa. In general...

Driving past HIllcrest Mall it looks like a promising inclusion for the deadmalls.com. The whole front is just done up in Soviet era blah. No windows. No visible skylights. Lots of parking. Hrm. What to expect?
It's anchored by a fairly ghetto Zellars and an unimpressive Bay. But the rest is quite decent enough. The inside is well appointed. There's a Second Cup, a Manchu Wok, and a Bulk Barn....

Come check out the farmer's market on Wednesday's in the summertime. It is located at the south end of the mall.
Local garlic and lots of great fruit and vegetables from around Ontario, including broccoli, zucchini, pears, plums, peaches and tomatoes. Fresh baked breads and salted pretzels are available too.
Featuring variety of shops that cater to the needs of the entire family, the Hillcrest Mall is a great shopping center. For a complete list of stores, check website.
