Breakfast was gross. The wait for waffles was almost 10 mins. The rest looked nasty. Lady cleaning with dirty cloth. Guy coughing and touching everything yuck. Bed and pillows were comfy. Room was nice but the tv had something on it and the lap desk was covered in something yuck.

Great rooms, super breakfast and excellent pool and gym facilities. Grocery store is across the road should you stay longer. Staff is very friendly. This is our 4th visit to the hotel. Wi-Fi is amazingly fast.

Stayed here while visiting family in the area. The room was big and spacious with a kitchen and desk area. The beds were super comfortable. The front desk was always responsive and helpful. We will always be staying here when we visit the area.

Awesome front desk

Excellent hotel! The front desk (Autumn) was terrific to deal with after a long drive. Her bright personality and helpfulness was most certainly a bonus at a exceptionally clean and overall friendly hotel.
It is only minutes away from Dunlop St. which has food and entertainment to fit most any taste.

Great price on Barrie's Kempenfest weekend. Nice location, a few minutes away from all the noise and excitement. Great service in all areas of the hotel. Took our daughter at the last minute & there wasn't an "extra person in the room" charge.

Poor experience

staff were not helpful, hot tub broken, type of room is misleading, binder in room full of errors and services are not available. When person above uses toilet you can hear them, and if they flush its loud. Also doors are heavy and slam shut so you hear that all night from the hallway.

Awsome, clean and friendly

This hotel and all hampton hotels are just awsome. Beds are comfortable, rooms are clean and the staff is just so friendly. I go to these hotels every chance we get. We will go back again and again. T.V's are alittle weird with volume problems but we dont stay for those.

Great hotel close to the highway.

My family spent a very pleasant two days at the Hampton Inn and Suites. We found the staff very pleasant and helpful and the rooms were very well appointed (the beds were terrific). We needed to be close to the highway, which we were at this hotel, yet the downtown/waterfront area of Barrie was easily reached.

Highly Recommended

The best hotel I've stayed at in Barrie. New, clean, friendly staff, large rooms, located right next to the 400. The only minor complaint is the hot breakfast was a little lacking (only two hot items that changed each day) and the self-serve area was a little cramped.

The hotel staff were very helpful and happy.

We wanted to use the breakfast room so our 3 families could have a late pizza in the hotel. The staff were great and enjoyed some of our pizza.

Very comfortable stay

We had a really nice 2 night stay for a wedding this weekend. The only downsides I would say were that the hot tub was out of order, and the breakfast didn't have much variety. Otherwise the room was clean and comfortable, the staff was friendly, and it was a generally great experience overall.

I stayed for two nights in April 2014. Staff were very good, location was convenient (I was working at Liberty North). Hotel was quiet. No restaurants in walking distance but we had a car so we drove downtown for dinner. Nice amenities, my room was HUGE. Breakfast was very good.

This hotel is so close to a grocery store and just down the street a bit is the lake which is beautiful to walk or run around in the summer. The staff is always friendly and helpful. I come for business and stay at least 2 different weeks per year.

Superb

The size of our room was wonderfull and very clean. The staff were wonderfull. Complimentary breakfast wasn't the best but such as it was, acceptable. We were attending a wedding so didn't get to use some of the facilities due to time. I repeat: The staff were wonderfull.

Best Stay Ever

This was a place of refuge for my family for 3 weeks while we looked for a house. We were treated like family. The staff was never condescending and always sincere. The rooms were large and clean, the internet was fast and at the end of a long day house hunting the pool/ hot tub was most welcome.

The hotel facility was clean and comfortable, although the closet was very small. One day we left the 'Do not disturb sign' on our door until noon which resulted in our room not being cleaned that day.

We stayed here for a night while we were heading further north. This hotel is fairly typical of a Hampton Inn - a large, comfortable bed in a big room. I like this hotel, but

Everything about this hotel I like, but during our last visit, our room wasn't cleaned. We were gone most of our second day, and when we got back the room had not been made up. I don't know if it was simply forgotten, or what, but I was very disappointed.

Excellent rooms and good hot breakfast. Near major stores and restaurants. Quiet street and lots of parking. Staff really helpful. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate in the lobby at all times. Fresh cookies mid-afternoon in lobby are a treat.

We try to stay at the Hampton Inn where possible. The rooms are always clean, the bedding is fresh and the breakfast is great. We have tried the casino package in Barrie and the upgraded room was huge and very nice. We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to the casino and the coupons and free gift were very nice.

In general we were happy with our stay at the Hampton. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. The room was clean and lots of lighting. We found that there really isn't the sound proofing we have had at other hotels, you could hear other guests speaking in the hallway.

The hotels are excellent value for your money. No parking fees and a very good hot and cold breakfast buffet. Clean lobby, rooms, swimming area and the beds are extremely comfortable. Hockey Weekend

I'm sure on a non-hockey weekend the property would be fine, but the breakfast room was a mess, as only one person was assigned to keep it stocked and cleaned, the hallways were noisy, and my bed frame broke.

Overall it was a good experience, sad pool changed its hours to close at 10 instead of midnight. Should also have more monitoring at one time there was about 14 ppl in hot tub mostly being toddlers when sign says Max 4 ppl. Also would be nice if there were food vending machines not just pop for late night snacking. Overall tho clean, great staff, and breakfast would choose to stay again.

Solid hotel

Relative to my expectations of a mid-range hotel, the Hampton Inn Barrie did just fine. The facility was time-worn but clean. Room was nice, though the window was very drafty. The kids enjoyed the pool. The breakfast buffet left a bit to be desired (I've never seen eggs so obviously made from powder) and even my ravenous kids skipped most of it.

Fully booked so very busy for the staff, but hair in the shower will put some off!!

not bad for price

I reserve 4 rooms one of them was biggest which I was stayed that was nice. But we waited 1 and half hour to check in. That is not unacceptable. No reward or benefits was given. We set on lobby for almost 2hrs for nothing. We lost something but haven't returned to us yet.

large clean rooms

my children and I booked one night at The Hampton as we were skiing at Snow Valley, we enjoyed the hotel and pool so much that we booked in for a second night. Excellent experience, staff were very friendly and helpful. Free continental breakfast and 24 hour coffee/tea/hot chocolate were a huge hit with us.

Customer service stinks

I showed up to the hotel at 9:30 pm after working all day to be back up at 4am to go to work and was told I could not stay because I didn't have a credit card and wanted to pay debit. I have to say that I was very desapointed. We were in room 408 with our son 8 years old, I had to call the front desk minimum5 times because of the noise. They told me that they will send security. They put a hockey team on the 4th floor, I can tell you that the party was on! For us with a 8 years old that could not sleep was not good, he finally went to bed at 3:00am. I will never go back!!

Convenient to all local amenities.

Comfy beds, clean room, super-friendly staff from the moment we arrived. Great hot buffet breakfast both days, and 24 hour complimentary coffee & tea. Thanks for a very comfortable stay! Non smoking room smelled like smoke

After booking a non-smoking room, I didn't expect a room that smelled like an ash tray. Management did a very poor job of converting a smoking room into a non-smoking room. When asked if I could be transferred to another room they weren't obliging. Very disappointing experience.
