The Granville Island Hotel is an Vancouver Waterfront Hotel located in the heart of Vancouver city. Easy to get to, The Granville Island Hotel is ideally a central location for Vancouver Hotels
Granville Island is one of Vancouver's more entertaining neighborhoods, but unless you've moored up in a houseboat, the only overnight option is the Granville Island Hotel. The exterior of this offbeat waterfront building is part Mission style, part industrial: the result is modern and sophisticated. Inside, most guest rooms have water views through full-length windows that get a bit grimy when... more
One of Vancouver's best-kept secrets, this hotel is tucked away on the edge of Granville Island in a unique waterfront setting, a short stroll from theaters, galleries, and the fabulous Granville Island public market. Rooms in the original wing are definitely fancier, so book these if you can, but the new wing is fine, too. Rooms are fairly spacious with decor hinting at the nautical location... more
Besides being Granville Island's only lodging, this low-rise glass mission-style mash-up boasts views of False Creek from great balconies and one of the city's best patios, Dockside restaurant. Crisp and clubby downstairs with traditional jewel tones and dark woods in guest rooms and suites, some equipped with their own jacuzzi, deck and gas fireplace. Pocket sized spa/fitness center overlooks... more
For a girls get away couldn't be improved on. just a wonderful time. View from hot tub to staff/food/ location...and the weather!!thanks for that!!!!
a good place to be and plenty of things to do and see exzpensive but this was a summer rate
we spent 2 night over the last weekend in VANCOUVER. The location is perfect. Parking was available for a fee, which is great as there is no real easy parking on Granville Island. Rooms are small. but nic,
Our experience at Granville was very good - parking was convenient - meals were above and beyond awesome. loved sitting out on the veranda overlooking the marina.
Staff especially breakfast and bar man a bit dry. Not engaging. But nice hotel. Room small but comfy. Would probably try to be on waterside next time. Have already recommended hotel.
The room was a nice size. Very clean. The staff was very helpful. We had a few special requests due to an early morning fishing trip and they were very helpful. And not just one shift. But numerous staff, in every area of the hotel, any time of day.
Very nice location. Air conditioning a little hard to control. Wait at front desk could be long if staff (often just 1) was on the phone.
Took my 5 yr old daughter - location perfect. Very safe feeling. Rooms over priced. Very quiet without AC which was great. Bathtub drain clogged. Front desk could not help with tourism. Overall, I feel you are paying for location which is perfect. Expedia package insanely overpriced but loved our short stay - can't beat the scenic beauty - beaches simply blissful. Seashell picking great for a... more
We loved our stay at the Hotel, walking distance to everything on Granville Island. So much to see, great shops & restaurants, dinner was delicious at Dockside. We would definitely come again & recommend it to friends.
The hotel is located among great boutiques, large markets, live theatre, ocean and wonderful restaurants. The staff are warm and welcoming and ready to serve your every need. It's like being in an upscale small town within a great city.
My husband and I were on anniversary trip. We absolutely love and adore the hotel as well as the restaurant.
The hotel is really clean and in a wonderful location! The staff is amazing; super friendly, warm, and welcoming.
We will for sure be back!!
For a visit to Vancouver you cannot do better than stay at this hotel. Walkways, market, coffee bistros, shopping.
Great location, excellent staff, clean room...only thing about the room was the king mattress was uncomfortable - somewhat lumpy, high in the middle but sloping towards the sides. One other minus was the parking, we never did get to use the blue hotel parking on both nights and had to come down before 10 on both mornings to move it, the first morning (Sat) to another 3-hour spot (risky) and the... more
If you are going to the theatre or want to hang around Granville Island this is the place to stay. Clean, spacious rooms. Good food with a great view. Quiet and relaxing. A little remote if you want to see Vancouver and don't have a car but you could use the great water taxi service close by.
I stayed at this hotel on a weekend night in late March. Check-in was quick. However, despite the fact that the hotel advertises in and out parking for an additional charge, no parking spots were available when I checked in at 3:00 PM. I was told "Things are pretty tight right now". Fortunately, I was able to find a parking spot nearby, but the hotel needs to either change it's advertising or... more
Great location, good service. Friendly staff. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Room 201 is directly beside the elevator with the bed towards the adjacent wall. Not great for undisturbed sleeping
Absolutely awesome weekend! I took my man here for his 60th birthday and the hotel gave us an absolutely amazing room. I planned the Romantic so there was a stunning rose, incredible chocolates and a yummy bottle of champagne. The girl who checked us in was amazing...she had long dark hair....I'm sorry I did not get her name! We had a romantic dinner at the Dockside restaurant and it was... more
Outstanding location. Will definitely go back.
Extremely helpful, friendly and attentive front desk staff, thank you!
Great little getaway. Would have like priority reservation for dinner at the hotel but no go. Had to drop a bundle at Le Provence and not great time for res. Other than that really nice.
This was special weekend, my 75th birthday and valentine's day. The room was so quiet and the bed so comfortable. Having parking right in front on a very crowded weekend was perfect.
Excellent!Would stay again.
We found your hotel on line and could not have been happier with our stay. The accommodation was wonderful - so convenient to looking at art galleries and interesting shops near by. I was exceedingly pleased with the room and overall hotel. The one low point was my salmon dinner on Sunday night. The salmon was overcooked and dry. Otherwise, we loved the views everywhere and everyone was very... more
Situated on Granville Island with short walks to the market shops restaraunts and take aways. The hotel itself is quiet and peaceful and rooms are large enough so you do not feel claustrophobic. There are regular busses and water taxi's to downtown.
My wife and I had traveled to Vancouver in the prior year and fell in love with Granville Island. The island has a great character, good restaurants, breweries, and a fantastic public market for picnic food. When our flight was cancelled and we were stuck in Vancouver for another couple days, we were able to book a two-night stay starting that night via hotels.com from the Vancouver airport.... more
Used as our base to visit Vancouver. Great location for exploring Vancouver. Loved the room. Very large, comfy bed.
Stayed here on a business trip, and did not want to stay in the busy downtown area. This was a perfect choice- I could not have been more pleased. Easy to get around for a newbie to the area, and beautiful surroundings. Room was clean, view was perfect and staff was very helpful. The adjoining Dockside restaurant was very good and the staff there was very pleasant. I highly recommend.
We stayed mid week. Everything was good. It was a little disappointing that the Dockside was closed.
The restaurant staff were fabulous! The island could keep you busy for days.
The room we got was on the third floor. The floor was ALL TILE!! not just the bathroom but the entire room. It was colder, noisier and just didn't feel as fancy. The tile grout was also dirty in between, assume it has been there a long time. Also, the room was very small and balcony was tiny. The room looks over furnished for it's size. It was quiet and the staff were nice but likely won't be... more
Comfortable clean room. Very nice location. Overall a nice hotel. Will stay again.
we had a great time, we were only there for the one night but staff were friendly and helpful, we will definately be returning.
Pleasant hotel in a great location. We slept here but didn't use any other facilities with all the options of Granville Island market, shops and restaurants at our doorstep. Just parked the car and enjoyed it all.
This is a beautiful hotel in a fabulous location. The services are all top-notch. We had a lovely, comfortable room with a fantastic view of False Creek. The proximity to all the shops, the market and the sea bus stop made this the perfect place to stay for us. The Dockside restaurant, with its absolutely delicious food and gorgeous view is unbeatable. We can't wait to return.
GI Hotel is beautifully situated next to Emily Carr University. The boutiques ,coffee shops, restaurants and Public Market provide endless opportunities to delight a visitor. The hotel is a gem. The staff are friendly and caring. The rooms have been dated, but they are a little small. If you are a seasoned traveler this should not be an issue. The bathroom shower is perfect but there was no tub... more
Extraordinario!!!! Situado en un lugar maravilloso, en el restaurante se come delicioso, la atención del personal muy buena. Simplemente me encantó.
We have stayed multiple times over many years. They do a great job of keeping the hotel in first-class condition. Staff is always helpful and cheerful. Good restaurant. Lovely location on Granville Island looking east up False Creek.
Was a nice location to see Granville Island Shops
I felt like I was home with warm and friendly smiles and welcomes each area of the hotel. The front desk could not have been more helpful, the hostess help us with a table at full capacity and managed to squeeze us in, as all our flights converged at one moment in time with a meal.
We enjoyed our very quick stay And loved wandering the market and shops in the island
New Years was fantastic, best dinner and the entertainment was class
Room was great, very convenient location and nice setting
I very much enjoyed my stay and plan to return. It is attractive, comfortable and convenient, within easy walking distance of great shopping, restaurants and park areas.
Restaurant staff slow took forever to pay our bill!
The hotel staff was so nice and friendly. The room was beautiful. However the only complaint that I had/experienced was that there was no coffee/tea for us to have with the provided coffee machine instead there was old used coffee from the previous guest left in the machine. I did let the staff know when I checked out and they were very understanding and deducted our parking bill for us :)
Really clean, extremely friendly and helpful staff. Loved the shower and bathroom and comfy bed. Walkable to the shops on Granville Island. Hotel sits on the sea wall. It's a beautiful 25 min walk around it with a view of downtown Vancouver. Take the Aquabus over to downtown Vancouver.
The pluses: cool boutique vibe. Great Staff. Good scenery. Granville Island restaurants and shopping a short walk from hotel. The Shower was excellent. Negatives: we had an upgraded premium king room and it was still very small. Overall though, a very cool hotel.
I stayed at Granville Island Hotel for 3 days. While the young lady at the front desk was helpful and polite, the evening staff was the exact opposite. The gentleman at the front desk in the evening was overtly rude for no apparent reason. The man was unhelpful, and went out of his way to be unpleasant. The experiences with this gentleman were so unpleasant, I will likely not stay at the hotel... more
My family had never been to Canada before, so I was looking for a central location to stay. I was beyond impressed by the Granville Island Hotel. The location couldn't be beat. The front staff was very nice and helpful in exchanging money and giving directions.... more
Great stay....Just noted bathroom not that clean! Wonderful location and really relaxing. Keep coming back for business and bring my dog which is a plus.
47 characters to go apparently but that's all I have to say!
A great place to stay to enjoy the ambiance of Granville Island. It's charming, clean and quiet. A nicer alternative to large chain hotels downtown. No car is needed - just hop on one of the little bathtub ferries to Yaletown.
Fantastic!! Loved the whole experience. Had a relaxing, fun packed week-end. We will definitely return. A bit of nostalgia for my husband and I, as we are both from that area. Loved that our room was right on the ocean, thoroughly enjoyed every minute!!
comfortable, convenient place with excellent service, well-located. We loved the shower and the short walking distance to excellent shopping and the waterfront. We recommend taking a water taxi tour of False Creek.
I recently stayed for one night at the hotel and wish it could have been much longer. The location of the hotel is wonderful, but I was impressed by the courteous staff and lovely room. I plan on coming back again soon to stay longer.
We had a fantastic time at a wedding. The hotel staff for the dinner and the breakfast the following day were excellent. Every need was attended to professionally and in a friendly manner. The food was outstanding!
Restaurant was excellent. Room looked nice & comfortable but the bed was so wobbly/unstable that one person moving made sleep impossible for the other. We live in town and checked out at 11pm to go home.
The staff are premium - even the cleaning staff has a greeting. The front desk staff - and all staff I have encountered - are extremely cordial, helpful and overly accommodating. While this does happen it is often prescribed - this was genuine and that is why I always stay at the Granville when in Vancouver.
Hotel located on small island with easy access to downtown Vancouver. Staff extremely helpful & friendly. Room modern-small but very comfortable with comfy bed. Balcony small but able to smoke out there since is smoke free hotel. Restaurant expensive-ended up having breakfast at market which is 5 minute walk with wonderful coffee & pastries. Excellent location with a wonderful view.
The staff were all friendly, helpful, approachable and friendly.
The bathroom was awesome.
Entertainment, shopping, food establishments of all sorts within easy walking distance. Right on the seawall so easy access to many parks.
Great hotel with friendly staff. Perfect location for a nice weekend for both couples (dinner, drinks, and comedy theatre) and family (water park, kids mall, market). Really nice alternative to Robson Street. Rooms are small but beds are really comfortable. Tile floor throughout room so much cleaner than carpet. Nice view from the indoor hot tub.
Third time at this hotel, overall a great experience! The staff are always very friendly and helpful, rooms are very clean and a short walk from shops and restaurants on Granville Island. Can't wait to go back!
If a person books a certain room. GIVE them THAT ROOM. You shouldn't have to argue to get the room that you booked and paid for. when we finally got a room it was clean and tidy. Restranant was nice. Expensive but nice.
I booked the Granville after a previous leisure stay this time for a conference downtown because I wanted the Island experience and am quite happy that I did. The hotel is a boutique hotel, the only one on the Island, and close to all of the attractions but out of the fray. The service is personal and friendly, the base... more
Delightful boutique hotel set in an artisan area with a wonderful market. Used the water taxis and public transport to see the city. Friendly staff, though room was not large, beds very comfy and room tastefully decorated.
While Granville Island hotel is a little outside the busy center of vancouver, it's location is the best you can wish. The atmosphere at Granville Island is very refreshing and lively, the views from the hotel overlooking the bay are great, and the hotel is moderately sized so that it feels homy right away.
Hotel rooms are nice and clean...

Definitely would recommend this hotel. Our room was comfortable & clean. The bellman went out of his way to offer his tie for the wedding we were attending- husband forgot his. Totally saved the night
I always enjoy staying at this hotel with this being my fifth return! The bedding is comfortable and I aways sleep good here! The hot tub area was recently updated and was great. We have stayed here 4 times over the course of the last 10 years, though it certainly gets us nothing. And, yes, there is a wedding going on, but we are staying on the other side of the hotel this time and all is quiet. The noise thing is really an issue, so if you can, get a room away... more

Nice hotel with great location let down by not being told that our room was next to the lift, there was a dog next door that would bark and bottles may be emptied at the back of the kitchen at 6.40 am
Our stay was enhanced by the services provided by everyone at Granville Island Hotel. The staff made the extra effort to make sure we enjoyed our trip. This is a terrific hotel - great location, great rooms (ask for the top floor rooms) - with nice balconies -- great staff. The patio really is the nicest around. The Granville Island Hotel has been a stopping in point for many years. I/we enjoy the facility and all the people who make it run and support the stays. We know we can rely on the service and room comforts
Overall the hotel staff, cleanliness and comfort was above average. If you receive a room that has no carpet, it is a PET room and is quite small. We would be highly inclined to recommend this hotel to our friends and family.
Everything about the experience was superb: from the room block coordination for family members, to reservation with Dockside for the large buy-out for brunch, to how accommodating concierge was with holding onto our luggage after we'd checked-out. Super experience, would highly recommend.
Firstly I will say that I have had brunch at the GIH over the past few years and it has always been fabulous.
I stayed at the GIH for three days at the end of a long cross country trip. When I arrived I was exhausted, but the noise level in my room, that looked out over the restaurant made...

We love staying on Granville Island. At the hotel, kids and pets are welcomed. Great hotel in a busy area. Lots to do and see around Granville Island, and this hotel let's you get away from the chaos of the market to a more peaceful setting. Great beds to sleep in. Only problem was getting my 19 year old up in the morning, because she was so comfy…. Thanks GIH !! LOL
The location, the ambiance, the quiet, the quality, the attentive staff and poached eggs in the restaurant are the best in BC. I have stayed many times and the quality of excellence never falters. It also has the best views of Falls Creek in Vancouver.
I love Granville Island, so what a treat it was to be staying at a hotel where this amazing attractioin was right out my front door. The place is clean and everyone so friendly. What a view!! I was very pleased .
We booked our room at Granville Island Hotel as we were attending our granddaughter's wedding reception nearby. The room was exceptional with an amazing view. The staff were very helpful and courteous. We were unable to use any of the hotel amenities due to time constraints but would love to return for a more leisurely visit at a future time.
This is a beautiful boutique hotel in a gorgeous setting worth the price. I would go again, especially if their restaurant began offering vegan options. I was there for a training, and my husband played.
We had a very enjoyable stay at Granville Island hotel. Great location right in the heart of Granville Island. The facilities were very comfortable and spotless, great atmosphere, staff courteous and helpful, and view of the ocean and city amazing. Thank you to all the staff.
Been to GI many times and never been through this hotel. Restaurant is first class as are the rest of the facicilities. Walk or bike around and you don't need to use the somewhat small fitness facitily
We visited our daughter and family that includes our 3 year old grandson and they live only a few block away from the hotel which was extremely convenient/ Granville Island was a great spot to enjoy for young kids and adults alike.
Great location, clean rooms, fantastic restaurant. Friendly and helping staff.Close walk to the market. Near hop on hop off bus stop to take a tour of 20 stops of Vancouver. Great value for the daily fee.
This hotel is very convenient to Granville Island and False Creek. Our room was quiet, had a lovely large balcony, was very clean and up to date. Went to Vancouver for business. The hotel is located in a great spot and sitting in the award winning patio or restaurant after a long day is a pleasure. Service is great, staff friendly and competent. Room is average, bathroom tiny when compared to other boutique hotels. Nevertheless, this is the kind of hotel I would recommend for family and... more
As a repeat customer at the hotel I highly recommend it! Great staff, rooms and location. A perfect place for shopping, browsing galleries, eating and enjoying the scenery. The front desk staff are always very welcoming and accommodating. My favourite place to stay!
it has been a long time since we went to Granville Island.
so, for our 23rd Wedding Anniversary, we decided to go back to Granville Island, see a show at The Stanley (within walking distance) and visit all the artsy stores on the Island.

From the minute we walked in, we knew we'd enjoy our stay. The people at the front desk were warm, efficient and helpful. The food in the restaurant was delicious. We would definitely return to the Granville Island Hotel.
Excellent hotel. Great views with comfortable rooms and well priced. The location was convenient to downtown and the university area. We were there to visit my daughter who is a student at UBC and this is about the closest hotel you can get to the campus.
Ideal location. Staff excellent. Dog friendly with lots of lovely outside areas for walking them. Rooms a touch small but nice enough. Parking could be better as is somewhat limited & without any security. Would certainly... more
It's a bit pricey but the location is very central and walking around the island is such a pleasure, with great coffee, food and artsy shops! This hotel doesn't look like much from the outside, but it is a great place to stay! Lovely rooms - ours had a spectacular view overlooking all the boats. The place we stay when in Vancouver. Central and quiet. Clean, fresh and friendly. Love the market and wandering around Granville Island. Wonderful to be right on the water and enjoy the island whether its rainy or sunny.
I am very sensitive to noise. Stayed there a few nights. Never heard a thing. The key is to ask in advance for a quiet room. We had a young family next to us. It was quiet as can be. It was amazing to be such a short walk to amazing restaurants and the market.

Our room needed a serious upgrade. It was kinda shabby for this price point and location.
The location -- being on the Island and on the water -- is fun, especially for a Vancouver newbie, but you will probably want to go off Island for food.
What a great experience. We stayed only a few nights but would love to go back. The staff is friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The restaurant is wonderful. The food is well above average and the view of the marina and the city across the water is amazing and peaceful. I highly recommend their breakfast.

For me, the hotel location is compelling. I enjoy being a bit away from the City Center limelight. Very mediocre for the price you pay, the rooms are small and you need the key to access the elevator when you come down, WTF? The location is definitely perfect for a romantic getaway. The beds and bathroom are clean and on par. I'm surprised they are still promoting free-wifi as a sales point. It's crazy if you have to pay for wifi these days in general.
Very nice hotel with a great Sunday brunch. The staff was very accomodating and helpful. The rooms look newly remodeled and nicely appointed. I have to be honest; I'm disappointed. Our experience just wasn't very good.
We'd called to ask if we could check in early, and the guy who answered checked, said "sure, we have your room ready", and told us to come on in. The patio is delightful for a thin-crust pizza lunch beside the marina on a sunny day (for this it would get 4 stars).
The location on the water is good but pretty much moot if you are mid-restaurant. The food is good but not exquisite by any means. If you're enjoying a leisurely dinner, be prepared to cab back to town or check the aquabus schedule.
Good value hotel, good location for exploring Vancouver.
If you MUST stay on Granville - then you really need to stay here. Kinda average. Rooms are cruise-ship small, bathrooms are mediocre and the hotel overall is hard to peg as any type of "star." In terms of gym, I wound up forgoing the hotel gym (ahem - more like a room with a bike) and walked half a block to the Granville Island Community Centre, where I paid $5.00 and worked out in above hotel... more
The Granville Island Hotel is basically your only option if you plan to stay in Granville Island. It's a bit pricey and their gym facility is pretty terrible and difficult to find. They don't have a pool, but they do have a whirlpool and sauna to melt your tensions away.
The rooms are pretty standard with a lovely view of the ocean from one side. They also have a brewery on site that makes...

The Granville Island Hotel seems to emanate a calm, friendly vibe. I've never stayed here, so I can't comment much about the rooms, but I've always enjoyed coming here for events.
It's very small, for one thing, which makes it easy to find where you're supposed to be upon arriving. The conference rooms are all on the ground floor, and they have lots of windows to let in the light and let you...

great location, very quiet and very clean.... plenty of space in the room and the beds were perfect for my aching back!!!!
We had too high of expectations for this hotel. The penthouse suite was worn out and shabby. The carpet dingy. The furniture stained. The bed uncomfortable. The floor to ceiling windows surprising dirty. I will say the view is nice, but not enough of a view to warrant the price. The lights on the deck can't be turned off so the bedroom is bright even at night ("Sorry" the front desk said).... more
