At the edge of posh Shaughnessy, this Tudor-revival house is Vancouver's only five-star B&B, and it exudes a peaceful elegance that belies its address on one of Vancouver's busiest thoroughfares. Trade your shoes for plush slippers in the front hall and head to one of the five king-size rooms, each with a sitting area and appointed with luxurious linens, spa robes, and bath amenities made... more
None of what I wrote is a lie, so I am not a fraudster. In fact, his reply to my review verifies that each room does not have its own air condition control. He states that he turned on the air conditioner for the 6000 sq ft house ... meaning the whole house or nothing needs to be air conditioned and not to the desire of each individual room. I did not double book, in fact I had to frantically... more
We had a terrible experience with this B&B! We were headed to Vancouver for a last minute vacation and booked through Hotels.com two days before our departure. I accidentally booked the room for two people when we were traveling with three and when I received the confirmation email from Pam and Randy, I noticed the number of occupants was incorrect. I quickly write back to the personal email... more
I was so impressed with Granville House when I stayed there a year ago that when I returned to Vancouver it was my first choice, and I was delighted again.
The Vogel's have created a truly first class, well thought out guest house. I can't really think of anything I'd change. I was in Vancouver to visit the office of...

My first impression arriving at the guest house was not to good, being on the busy Granville street. They however have very good free parking in the ally round the back. Access into the house and room by code is easy and works well. The room was luxurious and cosy with everything that you can expect from a 5 star... more
Pam and Randy Vogel are great hosts in Vancouver. My husband and I were on a pre Thanksgiving tour of Vancouver, Vancouver Island and Olympic Peninsula, and we stayed our first night here at the Granville B&B. It is centrally located in many ways and was easy to find.
Beside the fact that we began our visit with a small...

We stayed at Granville House at the begining of October when the weather was quite inclement. Our hosts Randy and Pam were exremely helpful in suggesting places to go and things to do to make our stay more enjoyable despite the rain. The house itself was very comfortable with large rooms that contained all the extras that you would expect... more
In June 2012, we stayed four nights at the Granville B&B, a comfortable, clean older but freshly remodeled house right on Granville Street and half a block to the nearest bus line leading straight to downtown Vancouver. This was our first experience with a B&B and we found our hosts Pamela and Randy incredibly friendly and helpful from reservation to... more
We enjoyed our stay at the Granville House in September.
The plus:
-Cost is good value for money as Vancouver hotels seem quite expensive
-The accommodation is high end, spacious and comfortable.
-The hosts were very helpful at all times.
-Breakfast was very nice, please do specify to the staff if you don't require cooked breakfast as they cook "entrees"...

Our room was large and comfortable in this lovely old but beautifully detailed and furnished home. The private bathroom was huge--way bigger than ours at home. Lovely breakfast room with good hot and cold breakfasts (we were catered to very graciously and served special vegetarian omelets) and excellent coffee. We felt very welcome and at home. The only drawback is that... more
I was expecting a B&B, but this place is more like a very nice boutique hotel. Nothing wrong with boutique hotels, just not where I prefer to stay.
Positive:
-The best mattress and bedding I've experienced outside of home.
-Beautifully appointed
Negative
-The front units are 50 feet from a six lane highway. They have done what they can to...

Granville House was my first experience of a B&B as I have always preferred the more impersonal atmosphere of a hotel. I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the freedom to come and go that the key-code access offered us, loved the large comfortable bed with the luxury linen and choice of pillows. The bathroom was beautiful with plenty of room... more
I can't say enough good things about Granville House. The staff is friendly and welcoming. The premises are spotless. We stayed in the Birch suite and it was very comfortable and quiet. In fact, the bed was more comfortable than my bed at home! The breakfasts are fantastic whether you go for cooked or continental. The location is very convenient... more
Would definitely recommend this B&B to anyone travelling to Vancouver!! Can't wait to return someday!! Very nice property with great service. Room was nice, clean, quiet. Loved all of the extra touches like slippers and robes, i-pod dock, bottled water in fridge, fresh cookies every afternoon. :-) Breakfast each morning was fantastic!! Love that the hosts are into healthy eating/living... more
We have stayed at a lot of bed and breakfast establishments, but this was the best one so far in our far flung travels. We chose the junior suite to stay in because we liked the en suite bathroom best from the pictures. Both the bedroom and bathroom were great. The door code allowed for easy, secure in and out... more
Rely good BB, Good location, quiet rooms, silence on the East side a little less on the west side, Very nice Breakfast, Wi-fi free, really clean, The Boss give my a lot important informations on the area and the city.
We booked this at the last minute which is why we got a downstairs room at the front of the house right by a busy road. The personalised numbers we were sent in advance to open the door to the house and our room were useful but felt impersonal. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom... more
Just spent 3 nights at this great B&B. The location is great and since parking is so expensive in Vancouver you can take a bus right outside and in 10 minutes you're in the heart of the city. The room was terrific with a great bed, pillows and bed linens which were top of the line. The bathroom was modern... more
I stayed at this B&B with a group of friends as we gathered for a wedding in Vancouver. We all felt that it was good value for the city and our rooms were clean. The beds were large and comfortable. We only met one of the owners once but the staff provided a good service and I particularly appreciated the... more
We travelled for 6 weeks and this was the poorest Bed and Breakfast we came across. The oners have no trust at all in their customers. We never got our full change, the curtain was ripped, the toilet was wobbly and one bed was not even worth trying. We had a room with two beds, one was nice, but the... more
We recently took several rooms here for my daughter's wedding.
We were very happy to have a "home away from home" where we could get ready for the wedding and visit with out of town guests too. It was much nicer than running between hotel rooms....very relaxing at a stressful time:-)
I would recommend this beautiful house without hesitation.
The rooms at this B&B were nice, clean, updated and really of a higher standard than most "run of the mill" B&B's. I had 2 rooms (for reasons to be explained shortly) the first was a standard room and had a huge king bed with nice linens, flat screen TV etc. On the other side of the coin, it was... more
We visited with our 2 young children in early April. The room was lovely - a sitting room that doubled as a second bedroom and a main bedroom with ensuite bathroom.
Unfortunately we had booked through an agency which had neglected to mention the children, and although Randy was very happy for us to stay, he suggested we could stay...

We enjoyed our stay during Grey Cup week. The location was awesome, we even managed to walk to Oakridge Mall from our B&B.
The morning breakfast were very nutritional.
Looking to our next booking.
Thanks Pam & Randy
This B & B demands many returns! The feeling of being a special guest in a beautiful home permeated our stay there, from the seamless welcome and arrival instructions to assistance with our taxi to the airport. Pamela, Randi, Leica and Shandi succeeded in making us feel special and welcome and even assisted us with printing needs for tickets. The... more
We had never been to Vancouver and were not really sure which part of the city was the best to stay in. I liked the look of the Granville House and the neighbourhood. My wife and I spent 3 luxurious nights here at the very end of a 10 week holiday before flying home to Sydney, Australia. Breakfasts were an absolute delight, and nothing was too much... more
Every Bed & Breakfast owner should spend a night or two at Granville B&B to see how it's done. Wow.

What makes the Granville B&B the best: Pam & Randy (infinite knowledge of the city and surrounding areas, incredibly gracious and accommodating); the location (easy access to everything!, located in one of the more beautiful neighborhoods); the house (beautiful inside and out, tastefully modern and up-to-date rooms), the amenities (free parking, delicious and filling breakfast). Pam & Randy are personable, gracious hosts.Location is perfect to visit Vancouver. Cleanliness is remarkable probably due in part to the no shoe policy.
My wife and I stayed in the Elm Junior suite in June, 2011 for our honeymoon. We took advantage of the deal where we stayed 7 nights but only paid the cost of 5 nights.
Amenities:
The bed is large and luxurious. A little soft for my taste, though, since I prefer a nice firm bed, but it was perfect...

We stayed in the Elm Junior suite late August, very nicely done! Shandy was very helpfull. This B & B deserves its 5 stars. The location is good not far from downtown but in a residential area. If we go back to Vancouver we will reserve the same suite as we liked it very much.

we were just a few days, but we were very pleased with everything. The room was large, cozy and very clean. The location was convenient and quiet, just minutes from downtown. The breakfast was good and plentiful. The hosts were very courteous and gave us lots of information and advice. Truly a great experience, certainly recommended!

Thankyou Granville House for making our stay in Vancouver a most memorable experience. Room was very comfortable, spacious and well-appointed. Breakfasts were terrific - a creme brulee french toast one day, vegetable omelette another and the best raisin bread for toast. This B&B is written up as a high end facilitty. We paid almost CND 300 for one night. We arrived late due to flight delays and lost luggage. We asked to have the person at the B&B accept the suitcases when they arrived, but were told that no one is at the B&B most of the time. We also asked... more

We were EXTREMELY disappointed and dissatisfied with our stay at this B&B.
