Nice Italian restaurant with free parking! Good selection of dishes and generous portions. Quick and friendly service, but if you're really in a hurry, try ordering the panini: it's delicious and ready, they just need to grill it!
Simple decor, but reasonably spacious.
Nice treat!
an oldie but a goodie :)
I have been living in the neighbourhood for 12 years now, and I was at the Golden Boot Caffe for the first time on Saturday. It is a really tiny but clean restaurant. We didn't order from the menu, we got the daily special dishes based on the waitress's recommendation. I was blown away. The pasta was obviously fresh, and the tomato and basil sauce is delicious. I would...

The food here is great - authentic Italian fare at its best. They make homemade pasta noodles and cook them to a perfect al dente. Last night they even had homemade ricotta on crostinis which my husband said was very tasty. I had spaghetti freschi and the ingredients were all fresh and the meal was very satisfying.
They typically have a number of different specials each night which is nice, to...

Very casual restaurant. Our waitress was very nice. Complimentary bread, oil n vinegar to start. Actually that's my one complaint. Thankfully our waitress used a spatula but I could see another after accepting money taking the bread off the panini grill with her dirty hands. A Food Safe refresher please. It looked like they have many many regulars. At times when a new couple or group walked in... more
Love this neighbourhood gem! Never disappoints. Authentic Italian food. Friendly staff, great atmosphere. Can get busy during the weekends so make reservations before you go. Try their simple dishes like the Penne Rosa or the garlic prawns - delicious! Oh even the bread is so yummy too.
I've lived in Coquitlam for 20+ years and drove by this place almost every day. From the outside it looks a bit like a cheap diner, so I was surprised when a friend raved about their great Italian food. I went during off-hours on a weekday so it wasn't busy at all, the service was good and the food was delicious. Both my partner and I got sandwiches and were happy with our meals.

Golden Boot it is!! Best hidden gem in west Coquitlam!! Everything on the menu is so delicious and tasty. The desserts are so amazing.
One star off just for seating it gets crazy busy so make reservations or be prepared to wait for seating as this hidden gem is always busy!!
Enjoy!!

Classic rustic clean Italian comfort food.
Italian as it should be....simple,pure ingredients freshly prepared. Nothing pretentious here...home made from scratch recipes, balanced and flavourful.
The best Gnocchi I've ever had the pleasure of noshin'.
To die for Bruchetta and of course all washed down with bold dark roast fresh coffee.

Best Italian Restaurant around.
Love the Lasagna.
Tatagliani Bolognese is fantastic.
One of our new favorite Italian restaurants. I like the casual atmosphere and that the tables are spaced out unlike Rosa's. The pizza was a nice thin crust with fresh ingredients. My daughters also loved their spaghetti carbonara. The warm bread with oil and vinegar to begin with is a nice bonus. Would definitely recommend to anybody. It does get busy though so go early if you can.
I came here with my husband before going to see a movie on the strength of the reviews. And the food was everything we hoped it would be. Really delicious, perfectly cooked pasta. I'm always on the lookout for a great carbonara, and since our visit to the Golden Boot I've been having cravings for more. My review would have been 5 stars if it weren't for the lack of service.

Golden Boot definitely has the authentic Italian taste to offer. My group all agreed that this place definitely can compete with the high rated Italian restaurants in downtown and Commercial. It's great to find something like this here in my hometown Coquitlam.
The complimentary bread tastes very delicious when paired with the olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
My issue with the restaurant is not...

Came here for my birthday for dinner with my hubby. We had high hopes after reading the yelp reviews.
We ordered the daily soup (butternut squash), the insalate caprese, Tagliatelle Verde alla Bolognese, and Tagliatelle Gamberoni.
The soup was so creamy and delicious. They have added something that gives it a very nice flavour profile and neither myself or husband could figure out the secret...

I LOVE THIS PLACE... a hidden gem in Coquitlam, just off of Austin.
The gnocchi with cream sauce.. IS AMAZING......!!
I am a huge gnocchi fan, when I tried their gnocchi I fell in love. One of my favorite pasta places. Handmade pasta, cooked perfectly, delicious creamy parmesan sauce.
The pizza as well is again, amazing. Great flavor, thin crust. Perfect homemade Italian taste.

The food here is excellent but if you are expecting it to be familiar you may be surprised. Their dishes are not drowned in mozzarella and baked. The service was great and they are quick to explain this is the way their family cooks. You will find unusual dishes there like rabbit sometimes. Go - but make a reservation if... more
Great food at fair prices. Closest thing I have found to authentic Italian pizza, and the pasta is to die for.
We used our Entertainment Coupon on a Wednesday night not so long ago. We made a reservation earlier that day, but the place was half full when we got there. I believe the Entertainment Coupon is valid only Sunday, Tuesday through Thursday (closed on Mondays). They have high chairs for babies and booster seats for toddlers.

I went there with an Italian friend who also happens to be a foodie. But then again, I think most Italians are pretty passionate about their food, so they're naturally foodies.
Anyway, back to the review. My friend and I ordered the gnocchi and penne with vodka sauce and the Pizza Ferrari. First, the server gave us some delicious bread sticks which were fantastic. Each table had set of...

Great food and fair prices. Not very big, and reservations on the Friday and Saturday are a good idea. The Pizza is as close as you will get to Pizza from Italy and the pasta is fantastic.
We have been here many times and it never fails to disappoint.
this restaurant is one of our favorites. It is Always very very good. We have been there for lunch which is good but dinner is always consistently excellent. The main entrée is pasta - always fresh and the sauces are great. Cost is about l5 to l8 dollars average - worth every penny as you won't go away hungry. The... more
My moms favourite restaurant in the tri cities. The Golden Boot has some great pasta dishes, I'd recommend asking your server for the best and most popular. I suppose its a little hidden gem in Coquitlam.
This restaurant was our destination for 9 people last night for a birthday celebration. I am glad we had a good time amongst ourselves because the restaurant doesn't contribute much. We got to the reservation we had made by 5:45 exactly on time. That was the last thing that was on time. Slow and ponderous delays in everything. We had... more
I've lived in Coquitlam my whole life and drove by this place all the time on my way to Safeway and Inno Bakery and never put any thought to it. Had it for the first time and now I'm regretting it since this is a little gem of a place. My friend told me they make their own pasta. I had the chicken and mushroom stuffed cannelloni with a creamy tomato sauce and it was truly delicious. The pasta... more
I dined here based on Trip Advisor reviews & was unfortunately disappointed. I'm usually in agreement with reviewers but this place was the exception.
The food was fine & worth what we paid hut the atmosphere was lacking.
Waitresses were complaining about co-worker nearby & they were playing blues music instead of Italian. A dining experience is much more than...

I had forgotten about this fabulous, off-the-beaten-track Italian restaurant after moving away from the area a number of years ago. The opportunity to meet, and have lunch with, an old friend in the area brought the Golden Boot to mind, and now I remember how wonderful this restautant really is. I love Italian food and have eaten at many of... more
These people have been operating a first class restaurant for many years and their product is consistently good. The food rivals anything available in Vancouver, particularly the pizza. Their prices are very reasonable and I don't know any other restaurant that only charges $10/bottle corkage. Best to make a reservation so as not to be dissappointed as this is not... more
This place was amazing and our cute blue-haired waitress was super nice and friendly, plus she was knowledgable about the vegan options on their menu. Even though I was disappointed to learn that all their pasta contains eggs, and I had been excited for a big plate of penne, I didn't even care after I had their amazingly delicious, crispy thin crust pizza. Yum! The salad we had and the basil on... more
I have been to this small treasure for lunch several times - but not for dinner until this week.
The food was absolutely excellent and the service was equally as good. Prices are reasonable.
What more can you ask for?
This was our first time at this restarant,I went to Italy last year and was moaning about not having any true italan restarants in Coquitlam .Well happy to say we found one ,can't wait to go back Cheers to that!!!!!
Food is excellent and the fact you can bring your own wine bottle makes it even better. The food and service make up for the lack of decor.
Me and my friends headed here for dinner. This is probably one of the longest standing restaurants in all of Coquitlam. Me and my boyfriend had a plan. He ordered pizza, and I ordered pasta and we would share and try the best of both worlds.
The portions are pretty good. It's something you can finish and be full. We ended up with two pieces of left over pizza. However, I definitely felt their...

We read some of the reviews about this place and so we ate there for dinner a few days ago with expectations of some good Italian food. We were expecting clean, good, relaxed dining. We instead ate in a place that was not that appetizing and the food was not that great.

We have been with friends but often we go as a couple for first rate comfort food and a wonderful experience. We've been loyal customers "forever". Excellent, simple, meals reasonably priced. Service is usually very good although they can get very busy and the servers are simply run off their feet at times.
The wine list is very basic, but adequate.

Canelloni and pizza were sampled today. Both excellent. Highly recommend the spicy Ferrari pizza as relatively unique and well worth the price. Service and atmosphere are nice for a local eatery!
We are a family of 4 who wanted good Italian food the way nona makes it!! Our family loves this restaurant. Whenever we decide we want a break from cooking, our first thought is the Boot. When you walk into the Boot, you often see the same people enjoying dinner. This restaurant definitely has a following of regulars. Good food, good service, great prices!
My partner has been raving about this place for over 8 months. We couldn't be here any earlier because this neck of the woods is very 'out there' from where we live and hang out. I am glad we finally made it out here because I have to give the Panna sauced gnocchi a perfect 10.

Italian home cooking at a restaurant; how can you go wrong?
The Golden Boot is one of my go-to Italian restaurants because I live super close to it, and because it never does me wrong. My family loves the baked dishes, such as the lasagna and the cannelloni. Hidden gem for sure. I had the hand-made tortellini and was really impressed by the quality of the pasta, filling and the sauce. Considering the fact that this is a small restaurant out in the burbs, they do a pretty good job.
Here is a place that can deliver some pretty decent food but has a couple of little issues from making it a great restaurant.
I've only been here at night so what this place is like during the day is beyond me, I will give it a try for lunch one day.
At night they need to turn down the lights a little as it is almost as bright as a 7-eleven. Just turn down the lights a little and throw some...

This place has excellent food, it is as simple as that. The hours of operation are like from 11:30 to 2:30, and then 5 to 9, as they aren't open throughout the day, but when you need comfort food, hit this hidden joint up.
They make their pasta and sauces fresh from start. I can honestly say since I discovered this restaurant from the Entertainment book, that I have never had a bad meal here....

Awesome. Very much an Italian cafe that also happens to serve freshly made pasta. The first time I experienced a wee bit of culinary ecstasy. Delicious fresh spaghetti, spicy sausage, red sauce - simple, but mind-blowingly tasty. The second experience was good, but the dish (same as above) was only good.
