Located in the heart of Vancouver s premier restaurant & fashion district, Glowbal has been voted the hottest new restaurant. A combination of sleek décor, friendly professional service, energetic atmosphere & innovative comfort cuisine. Award winning Chef John Crook heads up the open kitchen where guests can sit & watch satays, steaks and seafood sizzle.
"Hot music" provides a soundtrack for the "hot crowd" packing this "clublike" Eclectic in Yaletown where the menu includes an "interesting mix" of satays, Italian, Asian and "some of the best steaks in the city"; it's not cheap, but even when "servers seem run off their feet" they're "attentive", plus there's a "nice" patio and AFTERglow, a lounge that's "good for late-night drinks."
Like a trophy wife primping for her second go-round, this Yaletown celebrity magnet reinvented itself as a steakhouse. Dry-aged top cuts hoisted high (in the glass-walled "Meat Cellar" at the end of the bar) and a sleeker silhouette (squeezed into gold snakeskin banquettes). For the big spenders-hockey players and film stars-the open kitchen charbroils excellent Canadian Prime strip loin... more
After eight years in business, this glitzy Yaletown celebrity magnet is still high on the “see and be seen” list, playing host to hockey players, film stars, and every species of hangers-on imaginable. Though it could use some sprucing up in spots, for the most part the sleek design has stood the test of time, as has the globally inspired food concept (now in the hands of chef Eric Heck,... more
glowbal has occupied a top spot in the trendy Yaletown dining scene since 2002 and started the craze for succulent satays of grilled meat or fish served with a dipping sauce. In 2009, it revamped, reinvented, and reinvigorated itself as a steakhouse (though the satays are still available); all prime cuts are on display in a meat case. Have one of their famous martinis as you peruse the menu and... more

After dinner, walk straight to the back and skip the line. Only 50 peeps allowed inside, and it’s always packed. Narrow space, low ceilings and cushioned benches make the space even more intimate. Brilliantly lit fuchsia, white and pink exposed brick walls make Restalyne pouts look real. Sip creative martinis and chit-chat with Rolex-wearing gents. The beautiful belong here, especially you.
. The meat of the short ribs was tender and flavorful, the meat of the lamb shank was tender, but couldn't tell it was lamb. The food was good, but didn't stand out. The waitress was pleasant, but didn't bring any bread as we watched the tables around us get bread. This was noticed by the hostess and I believe the manager, but they did not react. For $40.00 per person, there are too many other... more
Don't wanna blame this to open table.
the global grill is closed for renovation.
They didn't mention this on the website, and still allowed me to book a table online.
We only found out they are closed when we got there.
Came in for our 10th Anniversary from Seattle. The manager welcomed us with a very nice glass of Prosecco and then suggested we try the Tomahawk rib eye since it was Tomahawk Thursday and it was almost half price. 50ozs of pure bliss. Cooked perfectly (go medium rare to medium and more towards medium, too rare makes it chewy).

We had reservations w a group of 6 of us at 930 on a Saturday night. They had our reso but no seat. We had to stand around for almost 30 minutes before we could get a seat. They did give us complementary glass of prosecco while we waited, which was nice.
The food was... not good. A couple of us had the artichoke salad; the artichokes were tasty but the salad itself was salty, which is weird and...

Fun location and good food. The service was outstanding - every staff member went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Great vibe.
Delicious seafood platter. Totally overprised though.
But service by Scott just amazing.
I Would recommend if your budget is huge
We had booked our meal during what turned out to be Happy Hour - an unexpected treat for us!
Made a special request for us--fresh salmon sandwich which was delicious and presented beautifully. Seated us in quiet area, and were very attentive in service. We are older couple on vacation and felt this restaurant was an excellent choice for us. Price was reasonable. Would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant to older tourists.
Marilyn and Paul
awesome setting staff were extremely accommodating!!
How can one not, always trendy, nothing to expect less from this enormous restaurant Glowbal Group.
A must-visit to Yaletown, not just for drinks and food, but for the eye candy and atmosphere.
If you go the Tourism Vancouver info centre by Canada Place, go grab their rack for promotional cards for complimentary satays ;)
It was my daughters 11th birthday and she wanted to eat at Glowbal. We had tickets she did not know about for Queen/Adam Lambert so we needed a nice meal but fast service. Our food was there really fast that we ordered some bread after so we could nibble while we finished our wine. Then came the fabulous desert platter made just for our daughters celebration and it had a taste of all the fine... more
This was a terrible experience. My wife ordered a glass of wine, which was cheap wine, and/or from a bad bottle. I suspect that the waiter figured, completely incorrectly, that, being American Tourists, we wouldn't know the difference. We told the waiter the wine was awful - I mean really bad - and ordered a pour of a different kind, which was fine.
The waiter later told us that he tasted the...

We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at Glowbal when we were there on the first Sunday of summer. The brunch feature was an ingenious "sample platter" customized by size to fit the number of diners. It included braised beef eggs benny, a lobster frittata, turtle-style waffles (a nice touch with the sugared pecans), greens and potatoes. At $17 a person, it was an absolute deal. The wait staff... more
Great food - even without a kids breakfast menu, there were lots of options and some "please put it on the side" that made the meal tasty for kids and adults alike.
We sat on the deck and that was really nice. It felt very European so the ambience was good. The waitress was a trainee I believe, so not very with it. The manager fellow was very good. Although the meal was terrible. Two of us ordered the prime rib Sunday special, and it was not very special. It didn't even look like prime rib. My family and I have a lot of allergies and intolerances and they... more
We used to come here for patio brunch for a few years despite a couple of bad experiences we had with their portion size.
We had ordered their ahi tuna & smoked salmon salad before and it looked more like an onion ring dish with a small side salad. There was supposed to be avocado but what we saw was more like a smear of avocado (almost non-existent), which was very disappointing. The salad...

Oh boy, baaaaaaaaaaaad service. Saturday afternoon and the patio was full. I had made a reservation in advance of arrival. We were seated inside and completely forgotten about. Great atmosphere. Erenee was very attentive. She knew what we wanted before we did. She's the best. We wish all servers were like that.

We come to your restaurant a lot because we love it so much. The service is fantastic. The young gentleman that seats everyone is so wonderful and so friendly and so very accommodating to one's needs. He did his very best to get us the table we wanted. He was excellent.

I decided to come here since I was walking around yaletown for brunch and this place was packed. The server recommended the special which had a little of everything so it had a egg mushroom ham omelet , egg benedict served on deep fried potato, salad, potatoes, waffle with fruit and danish with an orange marmalade. There was also a sample of a shot of smoothie prior to this meal. When the food... more

The location was amazing. Mainland st seems like a real good time.
Satay platter as an app was great. I suggest the meatball satay at least - had a great kick to it.

Potato side was below average and the asparagus was cooked in a sauce that made them...

It's good food and everything but if you're a table of 2, you're always given tight seats with limited table space.
After using Open Table to reserve ahead, very disappointed with table given. Management did amend when requested but not a good first impression. Food brought to table was tasty but cold. Found service basic and felt we were being hustled along as a 6:45 table booking. With all the exciting food in Vancouver, will not return here.
Glowbal staff are super friendly and make you feel at home. The platters are great to share and the wine list is a great mix of local and international.
Erenee is a fabulous server! She really takes care of her customers, and Glowbal is always a good time!
This used to be my favorite restaurant and thought it would be a bullet proof option for a Mother's Day brunch. Came here for brunch with my family. The food was great, with some interesting options. The floor manager/host was a bit off-putting... but the serving staff was fantastic. Thank you Erenee for making our group date so memorable. The dishes were prompt and delicious as expected. Erenee's charisma made our whole night! Her and the gang even brought us a dessert platter. We will be sure to come back for our next date!
The food was good. The desserts were great. The drinks were phenomenal. The server Erenee was out of this world. She changed my dining experience forever.
This is by far my favorite staple in Yaletown; food is always good and the service outstanding.
This is my new fav spot for my girl friend and I to go for brunch! The benedicts are sinfully delicious and our food & drinks are always served fast and with great service. Came here to fulfill my stamps for the passport and tried their brunch. I had reserved for a table in a certain area, but when we were seated, they offered us a table with high chairs. I have been frequenting Glowbal since it first opened and on Friday I was disappointed in a number of things:1. The music was so loud we couldn't hold a conversation.
2. We had to wait for a long time for our food.
3. We were at a table with very little space to get in or out.
4. Coffee was luke warm.It saddens me to say that I won't go back for a very long time.
We love this restaurant when it is possible to sit outside. Brunches are excellent. Dining inside for dinner is a bit too noisy due to the younger Yaletown crowd. However, if you like a great "buzz", this is the place. Not recommended for people that want to carry on a peaceful conversation during dinner.
- it's loud
- it isn't that large and you might feel packed in
- service is great, even on a Friday night when it's full
- food is good to
- if you are out with a large, loud group of friends (and have a reservation) then you'll be fine
We ate here before going to the game and we all enjoyed our meals. The service and the food were both good. Came here the other day for a friend's birthday and had a great time. Glowbal has always been a fixture in the heart of Yaletown and it never disappoints. A must eat spot for anyone visiting Vancouver.
1. Horrible Service
2. Overpriced and gross food (mine was uncooked, and the waitress insisted that that is how it is supposed to be.)
3. Over croweded
4. Tables were not clean and lined with a large piece of paper :S
We went here as a stop during a Bachelorette party. First, we had reservations, but still ended up waiting 1/2 hour. I have no idea why this place has all the hype. The setting is decent although the music is a bit too loud. The 2 stars is mainly because of the food that was a disappointment for our party of 8. Nobody like their meal, and worst of all it's way overpriced.

Dan and I came to Vancouver to celebrate our birthdaversary. Dan is turning 30 tomorrow and tonight is our 2nd wedding anni. I am taking a minute or 5 to review Glowbal because it was that good.
We went for the platter. SOOO good. Steak, prawns, onion rings, veggies + capers, cheesy bread. WOW seriously. They knew it was our anni from our reservation...

Went there for brunch today with the boyfriend. We weren't expecting anything too fancy, but we were really hungry. We sat down on the patio after a quick conversation with a hostess and waited.... And waited.... And waited.... No one came to see us for at least 10 minutes. After working in the restaurant/service industry for years, this has to be my BIGGEST pet peeve. There were servers all... more
Glowbal Grill will get the distinction of getting my very first Yelp review--and it's a well-deserved one!
Absolutely enjoyed the satay platter for starters, followed by the bone-in Tbone, with the brussels sprouts side. Not a fan of brussels sprouts, but this dish from Glowbal was too good for words.
For cocktails, the khira is a must-try!
Great service from our lovely server--even their...

Although the food was OK, and the service was great, it felt like we were dining in the middle of a disco dance floor.
This is not the place if you want a romantic dinner where you can talk to your fellow diners. The pounding disco beat made it difficult to talk and impossible to focus.
There was a family seated next to us with young children who also found the music irritating. This restaurant...

Great outdoor tables. Appetizer descriptions were better than the appetizers, but were very good if you catch it during half price happy hour. Mixed drinks & Whistler beer went down well.
Glowbal's got the big fancy name, swank interior design, and handsome-beautiful servers. Unfortunately, I didn't find the food to be all that special.
The satay platter was served on a tin dish. At first it looked cool, but then as the server was taking it away, I realized that it reminded me of a dog plate.
The server told us that the satay skewers were famous, that they built Glowbal into...

I love Glowbal Grill! Been there a few times for dinner and brunch and have yet to be disappointed. The food is amazing!
My last encounter was for the chef's tasting. You have to go early to benefit from this as the Executive Chef does a special tasting of items not on the menu or a combo of menu items with a different spin.
The highlights: Ahi Tuna on a Himalayan salt brick with siracha...

I searched for Afterglow but seems like it's attached to the restaurant for review purposes.
I have to admit that Glowbal Group has the best service of all the restaurants I have been to this city and that's a lot! So on a Friday night after having had a yummy meal at Refinery we headed down to Yaletown for a drink. We settled on Afterglow as looked to have room and wanted a comfy lounge and...

This is a great spot for lunch and brunch in Yaletown with absolutely fantastic food, albeit on the expensive side.
I however do not recommend them for dinner, specially on weekends. There's usually a large crowd jammed into the spot, with lots of attitude, and sometimes there's cover. If you don't know the servers or manager you basically get no service.
So, overall great for lunch and...

One of Glowbal Group's many restaurants, this restaurant is located in Yaletown. Having been here for their lunch and dinner menu's, we decided to come try out their brunch.
Glowbal Benedict - $12.95 (3.5/7)
We always have to get benedict's. Always. What's brunch without a good ol' benedict? This one was quite the disappointment. Something was off about it. Perhaps the sauce was too thick?...

Went to Glowbal for my sisters birthday.. always very loud when you go there, have to yell across the table to talk to your party. Satays were amazing, no complaining there.. main course was steak and lobster, totally regret it, since the lobster was not the tail, it was just the arms, and was very little to no meet for an added price of 20.00! Steak was alright, definitely hype of their food... more
I find that with Glowbal restaurants it's usually hit and miss, and this one was a bit of a miss today.
The food is usually a bit bland and overpriced, which I get-- the whole GLowbal chain is more about LOOKING good than TASTING good. You're eating the ambiance, and to take instagram pictures of your nicely laid out plates.
But I really wish they could have spent just a BIT more time on the...

if you're pretentious and want to be seen around the company of other social climbers, this is THE premier spot in Yaletown to be at. Men can be found everywhere in their suits and Breitling watches sticking out their cuffs lining around the back bar, seeing if they can line up one more round without maxing out their credit cards. There are a lot of attractive women decked out who visit this... more
I really love Glowball food. The best dish they have are the brussel sprouts. Wow! If you go these are a must order as a side dish even if you don't like brussel sprouts. The beet salad is the best in Vancouver bar none. The caprese salad is really good. The satays are a nice way to try different things. The crab cake is excellent. The only negative is it gets busy on the weekends and the... more
Have been to Glowbal around 10 times and have always left a happy customer.. Good food and the staff and managers work hard to make your experience a great one.
Hmmm... To start on the positive or negative...I'll hamburger it.
Absolutely hands down the best service I've ever had. We were seated right away out on the patio with the heat turned up and blankets ready for the cold breeze. Our waiter Scott was friendly, attentive, helpful and corrected our order without any questions. He started us with water and a free teacup sampler of a tomato basil...

I came here year's ago for a company holiday lunch party, therefore, this is a backtracks experience. I was left little desired by the food. It was good, however, nothing really popped out in terms of flavor which is why I haven't been back since. The staff seemed fake in terms of their genuine-ness which was another turn off. Can't comment on the price, boss paid for it. Overall, I was annoyed... more
Expensive, over-priced and much better options elsewhere. Sadly the service in this place isn't great - nor is the food. For what could be a fantastic dining experience, it is let down by the staff and their food. Pricing of menu items is high and the quality is not marred to these prices.
I would suggest you save yourself a few bucks and go to the Keg which has better food, is less arrogant...

I love watching the action in the kitchen, so I really like that we had a table where I had a good eye on the action. My companion and I arrived for brunch and she ordered the pancake and I ordered the Glowbal Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was heaven, I am not sure what the magic ingredient is but it is deliciousness!!! yelp.ca/biz_photos/OQmc_…

We went to Afterglow which is the lounge attached to Glowbal Grill.
I haven't been to the restaurant but from what my cousin was telling me - it's a very classy and usually expensive experience. So you would expect the lounge to have a similar vibe.
While the staff and clientele there did appear to carry a "posh" aura, the place itself gave me an 80's lounge feel and one of us in our group...

After reading the reviews, we chose this restaurant for our 5 year anniversary. Worse decision ever. This is more of a stop for drinks and snacks before hitting the clubs. The techno music was really loud and I am in my 30's so not some old guy hit with culture shock. About half way through dinner, Gang Unit Police showed up and wandered around our tables for 30 minutes so not the best... more
Spaghetti and Kobe meat balls were good! Service was very good as well! Tuna and pulled pork satay were delicious, chicken was so/so.
"""Interesting mix of food types. I'm not a big meat eater, but there are plenty of fish and vegetable options for those who want satay that way."""
""". . . very flashy, very noisy, dress in something black or reflective . . . (Otherwise, can't remember much about the food . . . .)"""
"""Nice place, but food is average and service inconsistent. Plenty of better options in Yaletown."""
Great place for a business lunch or a dinner with a group of friends.
"""Unfortunately this used to be my """"Go-To"""", but it has seriously gone down hill. The service is brutal, the cocktail are slapdash and the food is only just acceptable. Pass."""
Interesting mix of both traditional and asian cuisine. Nice place and good service. Could absolutely go there again
"""Urbanits beware, becoming popular with the bridge and tunnel crowd"""
Food is decent but it is quite a busy place and hot spot for drinks and the early party/singles crowd. Fun atmosphere but its not the best restaurant to show off the city and its thriving food scene
Great action and vibe from this Yaletown establishment. Food was good too. If you want a fun and vibrant experience, this is a good choice.
Nice place to go for a drink or a bite.
Get dressed up and enjoy people watching also!
I had an amazing lunch platter here - some very impressive satays and twists on modern food. It's such a great setting sitting out on mainland street and the service is great!
Great spot in the heart of Yaletown! Enjoy a drink with the after work crowd - or stay for dinner. You won't be disappointed!
The sampler plattter makes a great appetizer for sharing or is a tantalizing meal on its own. Every dish was tasty and well prepared. I drooled over the beautiful Ahi tuna main served at the next table but really enjoyed my meaty, tender lamb shank as well. Overall, a really neat spot.
Definitely one of the places in the city to be 'seen in'. Fun place to have dinner or lunch...or to find your next partner ;-)
Great place for a business lunch. Wonderful menu including local seafood. They satays are a great addition to any lunch.
Great for brunch on weekends, particularly if you can get a table on their patio. Food is steady and reliable. Service is attentive.
Spectacular food and great atmosphere. The service is subpar at best.
Trendy and disappointing. All the rage with no substance. Expensive, food was average and the room was a bit messy...staff not taking care of the 100s of details that make a reastaurant wonderful. Unbussed tables, stuff on the carpet, staff hanging aro
Ever since the heartthrobs of Twilight made this restaurant their favourite haunt while filming in Vancouver this trendy Yaletown eatery has been on the map. The food is pretty good, standard fare, and you'll definitely feel like a celebrity rubbing elbow
great sate menu, food very tasty, but preparation lacks creativity and subtlety
Great brunch menu with creative items and good service. Decor feels like a nightclub and may be appealing for a certain crowd. Eggs benedict served with a homemade light sauce was amazing. Great recommendations from a waiter that had too many tables.
noisy! hipsters craning their necks to see who just arrived but mostly youngins. Nice at the bar for a pre-dinner snack & drinks, after that it's a zoo & service can get overwhelmed. A Yaletown scene mostly.
What are these people trying to pass off as food? Prawns are consistently sent out grey in the middle, sauces are often sour, crispy items are dripping with grease, plates are a mess of food, who would do this? This is what happens when a restaurant owner
Glowbal serves quite possibly the best spaghetti and kobe meatballs on the planet. Stick to your server's recommendations and your meal will exceed your expectations. While dinner is a little on the pricey side, lunch is definitely one of the best values
Great food served by beautiful servers. a fun patio and dance club/ lounge in the back.
Brunch on the outdoor patio was a treat though decor inside seemed dank and plain. Food quality is very good -- everything tasted fresh, and we especially liked the small donuts. Good location in Yaletown, but definitely pricey.
Delicious restaurant. Not only was the food incredible, but the drinks were amazing too!
Our favourite brunch spot - great options to choose from and the best patio in Vancouver.
Uninspired yet well executed fare at a trendy Yaletown hotspot.
I prefer this yaletown staple for brunch. The place still draws a crowd. The food is always reliable.
Solid choice for a good meal. Satay sticks and excellent pastas.
When glowbal first opened, it was the hot spot for all the hipsters in Yaletown. While the room is still lovely (and the patio is an oasis), the food is not living up to the same standards, especially considering the cost.
poor service poor food-more of a cocktail trnedy scene hang out -don't go there for serious-or good food!
You are paying more for the scene than anything here. Food is ok, but getting a bit dated; kobe meatballs? Wine and drinks are not exciting, but are what you would expect.
Excellent restaurant. Sit at the bar with a view of the working kitchen for entertainment and good conversation with the chef & other staff. Ask for a special tasting menu for something a bit different & a chance to sample many favorite items. Specify n
Be seen at this restaurant in yaletown. Some great dishes here, great for sharing.
Delicious; great experience. A fun place for a late night appies & drinks!
Glowbal has unbelievable bartenders. They instantly make you feel like you're the most important patrons in there and flirt incessantly with you. It's rather pleasant ;)
The service was great. Our server was really friendly, articulate and funny. The food was incredible, from the satays to the meal and dessert. The blankets provided for the patio is a great touch. Cannot say enough good things about my dining experience here. Would recommend to anyone. Espresso cheesecake was mmmmmmmmmmm.
the food it great excellent wine list but Ive never had good service. It doesnt matter if its for dinner lunch brunch or drinks on the patio the service is always just a bit off. Not sure why I keep going back there.
Went for dine out vancouver and everything I tried was very tasty.
