Had supper there for the first time tonight. Beer battered fish was delicious. Coconut curry fish was dry and over cooked. We did mention this to our waitress she said she'd tell the cook but we never got any response back. Personally I won't be going back. Also found it very expensive.
Was there a couple weeks ago. ANOTHER new menu. Where are the zucchini sticks gone? They were great. Why would you remove a winner and keep deep fried dill pickles on the menu? And what about the steak pie? Not served with turnip anymore, but with a veggie medley instead. Don't tell me -a new twist on an old favourite. How cliche. And now there are so many batters and breadlings available for... more
What happened to the portion size? We have been dining here since the new location opened. We also found it strange that during peak dinner time, the place was pretty much empty. First time we were disappointed, and also sad to see the zucchini sticks are no longer on the menu. My club sandwhich was good and others enjoyed their fish, but there must have been a shortage of fries, because what... more

Looking fowrard to Fish and Chips at The Glen tomorrow. The coconut curry is my new favourite.
Had a fabulous time at The Glen the other night. The fish and chips, and streak pie were amazing. The food was fresh and hot and the staff very accommodating. Will be going back very soon.
Four of us arrived at the restaurant at 1730, Sunday. The first seating was at a table in an air conditioner draft. Asked to move to a booth. Ordered two small ciders, coke and hot tea. Received two large ciders, no tea bag and the hot water was about 60 deg C.. The so called haddock and chips were cold and I have doubts that it was haddock; dry and bony. Service was very slow even though there... more
We don’t live far from the Glen and last week decided to give it a try. There were 3 of us and we ordered drinks, appetizer and three mains. The place did not seem over busy they had some empty tables and they had lots of waiting staff.
Having the Glen relocate to stittsville is not a great thing, tired it a couple of times and was not impressed, firstly the steak pie came out half cooked and cold in the center. On another occasion tried the appetizer flatbread/ puzza thing. Looked at tasted like a bland kids pizza. Much better at darcy's for the same money

We didn't order their mains which looked like what they were good at, just the appetizers. The spinach dip was not that good and the wings were okay. Not really interested in going back.
Have been going to The Glen for years, food and service was always great. I love the heart that goes into a family owned pub. But ever since The Glen has moved the food, service, atmosphere and heart has drifted away to terrible. They have gone from a home style Scotish pub to a "come get drunk and eat cheap style". I have tried the new place multiple times and every time was a failure. I will... more
We were driving by and thought it looked interesting (from out of town). Once inside and waited on our waitress recommended the fish, famous for their fish we were told. I ordered the battered, my wife ordered the breaded, once again she was right. My fish tasted like they had made it hours earlier and had stored it in a Styrofoam container until that special moment when I ordered. The coffee... more
The fried fish was good but the batter was rubbery- not crispy at all. It seemed like it had been sitting there for a while. My fiancé had the breaded fish and said that it was better. The front house manager was very rude and seemed to rush patrons so that he could seat those waiting. Very awkward to watch!!!
A lot of Ottawa area restaurants boast best fish and chips, including the delusional Digby's, so it was a great treat that the Glen could deliver. Breaded haddock was the best I had. Get a side of gravy for your chips, its the real stuff. Even app of calimari ( 1/2 price apps on Wednesdays ) was fantastic for a Scottish Pub. Fast friendly service too. Will return for sure.
Be sure you have time to burn, order something that sounds SO wonderful that you'd be willing to wait an hour or... more
On the day we went, the food was so so. The fries were under cooked and the fish looked like it was microwaved! There was water under the fish. This was probably do to the fact the deep fryer was cold and wasn't hot enough for the lunch menu. My advice...avoid weekend lunches and stick to dinners only and lunches during the weekdays.
the chicken gumbo was fantastic, and the fish even meets the advertising. The haggis was very good, and is okay deep fried
I am not generally a pub person, but was invited before a game so tried it. Amazing fish and Chips. Also great selection of beer
I'm sure others have good experiences here, but for me, my dish came to me with everything dried out as if it were left under a heat lamp for a few hours. Our table was about 20-30 minutes before our table was visited again despite there just being only about 3 tables of 2-3 people. When I brought it to the attention of the waitress/hostess/owner(?) she got defensive. I definitely won't be... more
