Amazing Experience
We had a wonderful lunch here as a family. Everything was done perfectly, the service was great and the overall experience was great. The food is interesting and well prepared.

Excellent service, innovative menu
April 14, 2014Gio is one of the best restaurants in Halifax. Located in the Prince George Hotel, it is not your typical hotel eatery. The food is inventive, and delicious. Service is outstanding. Definitely a top-notch choice in a city with several excellent options for an upscale dining experience.

A small but imaginative menu

Amazing service, delicious food

The server was amazing from her knowledge of the menu to her comfort level with us. The food itself was very good and despite a smaller menu it still had enough choices for most people. The menu prices are not cheap but the quality, presentation and portions are worth it.

Wonderful meal
November 12, 2013We ate there on a Sunday night when the restaurant was open for hotel guests only. The young lady that was hostess/waitress/bartender did an amazing job on what was a busy night. There was someone on stand by that would come out to assist once in a while when it was hectic to keep things smooth and trouble free. Amazing!

Loved this restaurant! Very fancy, not my style at all, but the staff was energetic and seemed to genuinely enjoy their work, and they did not treat us any differently even though we are not fancy people.

outstanding combinations of flavours, beautifully prepared menu that articulates the various ingredients. The crabmeat appetizer with crabmeat, taco shell, pesto, lemon/orange plus other flavours was exquisite. The setting and ambiance are business casual, ie not stuffy but gracious.

May 27, 2013Gio has changed their menu and it is fantastic. A few of the older favorites like the Elk remain but there are some delicious new choices. I had the Beef Carpaccio, the duck and lobster ( a bit of a strange mix) pasta and the olive oil and passion fruit desert. Outstanding.

Possible best in Halifax
May 25, 2013Gio probably is the best restaurant experience in town. We have eaten at most of the higher end restaurants in Halifax, and none could compare in terms of the quality and presentation of the meal. Without wine you are looking at about $50 per head but this is great value and we were very happy

For a hotel restaurant, I was quite surprised to be honest! The experience was good, nice "amuse boucher" and even a small palate-cleansing sorbet between courses..
The food was quite good... not the best I have ever had, but good. I had the salmon ... it was nice.
