Ordinary chinese food, nothing so special. But food are good and tasty.
Steamed vegetables in black bean sauce. Unfortunately there was just too much sauce for me so they vegetables seemed... more
I go there on a regular basis. Great food, great service except one of the female servers is always rude and unfriendly.
Came for a birthday party with 16 people. Very disappointed in the service. No one ever came around to our table, always had to flag them down to get anything. Never did bring bowls for the table, had to ask for forks. Food was good.
We eat regularly at the Ginger Beef and always find it fresh and delicious. I personally think that it is the best Chinese food in town. We have tried others over 40 years and it is the best for sure. In fact, we are having it for supper tonight. Can positively recommend (across from the Carriage House right beside Shanks).
This used to be the BEST place in town and I went there for 10 years and more. EVERYBODY knew it was the best. Now the business has moved N on MacLeod. Food is terrible !! Tables are tight. No "doggie bags" required because you would sooner leave it there. It is extremely disappointing when your favorite place turns into a dive. Take out or sit in will never happen again here. I am hoping the... more
I am sad that I talked my husband into ordering from here
I have eaten plenty of Chinese food over the years , my wife and i ordered delivery were dumbfounded and almost in tears over the amazing quality and taste of this food. Every item we had was impressive , the wonton soup , spring rolls, ginger beef , beef and broccoli, chicken fried rice , sweet and sour pineapple chicken are all superb . Not a word of a lie we discussed how much we liked our... more
first time here, I like the decor I like the atmosphere, the food was really good, but be warned the Peking duck takes up to 30 minutes to make. overall highly enjoyable would recommend it.
Food took an 1.5 hours to get here, broccoli was mushy, and no fortune cookie!? WTF!
The food quality has gone downhill lately. The last three times ordered delivery the food was extra greasy and tasted like card board.
I wanted to keep all my recent follow-up reviews positive, but I couldn't help but notice the sudden drop in quality at my once appreciated Ginger Beef. To make this short and quick to read, let me just say that this has followed along the same path as 80% of Chinese restaurants I have tried in this city. Food starts out good for the first few go rounds, dreadful the next time you visit. That... more
Ginger beef factory got shut down due to a disease. It was on the paper a few days ago. Not sure if going there now is a good sign.
I think this place has pretty good westernized Chinese food. I've had takeout a number of times and had their lunch buffet a few times too. Very reasonable prices. The buffet is large, tons of items. Always fresh even if going later for lunch. I think it was only 12 bucks too. Service is a bit brash but efficient.
We've always loved the food here. Dine-in experiences have been good, delivery has been good, too. However, the past 4 times we've ordered for deliver have been really disappointing. Ginger beef and Salt and Pepper Chicken have been really stringy and don't taste fresh.
For those who don't know this, Ginger Beef in Willowpark has started to service an excellent dim sum on the weekend. This started about 2 years ago. I had seriously doubt if they could meet my quality expectation when I first tired them, but I was blown away! To my surprise, the quality measures up and this is one of three places I would go for dim sum in Calgary. Try their BBQ pork pastry or... more
Disappointed that they discontinued their Dim Sum service as of July 10. 2011. Please bring back Dim Sum!
Ate here for the first time in about 3 years. Simply put- it wasn't that good. Ginger beef was great, but dumplings were mostly dough and the wonton soup was bland. Food use to be better???
Went for the lunch buffet one Saturday afternoon with my mom. It is exactly what I expected from a $10 Chinese buffet - just ok. Also, there was only jello for dessert here. Not bad but I will not go back.
...the steamed BBQ pork buns were up to snuff, the dough being light, delicate and not too sweet while the filling by... more

Some of the best Chinese food in Calgary! Lunch buffet is only $10, service is excellent, and everything on the menu is delicious!
After more than 5 years of eating at U & Me and Forbidden City almost every weekend, I just find the quality of Chinese Dim Sum in these two fabulous restaurants starting to deteriorate a bit. So, there was no other place I could find until I found an advertisement on a newspaper showing Dim Sum was to be served at Willow Park Village Ginger Beef. I was ecstatic for a moment and thought it was... more
I am not exactly an expert for Chinese food, but this place has a very good buffet with a huge variety for a very reasonable price. One day Stephen Harper came in to have lunch and the staff was not too surprised. Apparently one of the view things where he and I have the same opinion about... more
Nothing special, nothing terrible. Choose between a limited, but good quality dishes served by buffett, or from the menu. Speed (buffett) or menu (wider selection) either is a good choice here.
This is another Chinese Buffet aswell as a normal Chinese restaurant. Although they dont have a wide selection of buffet items, what they have is really good quality. And their menu items are even better
