Great little spot
May 06, 2013So nice to see a couple working hard to make a restaurant a success.....& succeeding. Had a great lunch there today. Wonderful homemade soups & sandwiches. Homemade falafels. Caesar salad was huge & amazing. Wonderful thin cut sweet potato fries. Did not try the dessert but list on the Board looked amazing. Will happily return again.

worth the drive downtown
September 17, 2011My husband and I had dinner (courtesy of gift cert) at Friends in our Kitchen Friday evening. Great dining!

Wonderful food, cooked right there in an open kitchen. The menu changes daily, suitable to the time of year and whatever….
The service is excellent. Open at lunchtime and then closed till dinner, thus the confusion about the hours.
The best soup, best fish, best desserts! I have never been disappointed.
Friends in Our Kitchen is a longstanding Guelph tradition, and a great one!

Excellent, except for one thing

Food was well prepared and presented.
Servings weren't huge.
The bundle of vegetables was at the perfect place between too crisp and too soft.
BUT: the sauces were way way too salty.
Anyone that likes a lot of salt can trivially add more to their dish,
but for the rest of us, removing the salt wasn't an option.

July 12, 2010I have ate here at least half a dozen times for take out at lunch. I generally order the same thing everytime...Veggie Roll and a Caesar Salad. It is excellent. Made from scratch and very tasty. The owner does most of the cooking and I find him fairly pleasant. He is usually extremely busy behind the counter preparing and cooking... more

My husband and I visited this little restaurant this past weekend (Jan/ 10). We stumbled upon it in our travels. I ordered the lamb shank and my husband ordered the ribs. We shared a litre of wine, and shared a dessert. Our bill came to 70.00 before tip.
