This place is not bad at all. I didn't know what to expect but was lad not to be disappointed in any way. The food is decent and so is the service. The serving staff is attentive and polite.
Great food to price ratio!
I've been here a number of times (most recently yesterday afternoon).
I got my usual burger combo. The burger was okay. I did find the burger not as fresh or juicy. It wasn't bad or horrible tasting, just take I've had better burgers from other restaurants. But the best part was that they offered a salad and fries in the combo!!! And the price was something like...

I wish I could give zero stars
I wanted to get a steak. They advertise their steak and potato special for 17$. I was greeted by a gentleman at the door and have been assured that this weak should be at least 30$. I believed and walked in.
First, I have been asked if I wanted an A.C. Space and I said yes. He showed me the table in the middle of the room. It was smoking hot. I placed an order...

Went with a group of coworkers on a sunny day. Our meal was great and the patio made it better. Portions were nice and they had a little more diversity than your average pub menu. No free refills drops it down to four stars.
This place is really good! We went for brunch on a Sunday morning during Winterlude.
Lighting is very good because of large windows. Food portions are very big and also well prepared. Bottomless coffee on a Sunday morning is always nice. Potatoes were cooked well and not out of a bag. I think this is a benchmark for good brunch places because so many places do a bad job cooking breakfast...

I'm not sure if Fox and Feather has been reading these reviews, or if I just randomly was there on a great day, but I had a nice experience there for lunch the other day.
Firstly, our server (who I think was named Tory), was positively lovely. She was kind and friendly but not over bearing , and made us feel really welcome. We were there around 1 for lunch and she seemed to be the only server...

The restaurant is located where there are 2 other bar and grills right across from one another from the intersection. But this one felt the most welcoming and best for sitting down with friends and having a nice meal. Although the service was just a tad slower than what I was expecting, the food was delicious. It was fresh and... more
I would give this restaurant 10 stars if I could! Everything was excellent!! We were so pleased we went twice during our 4 day trip to Ottawa. Cons: poor drink selection, terrible layout, food isn't all that good and the service is lacking. Had a bad experience trying to get a drink and it failed to provide a single area to like. Would not recommend unless have 0 other options on Elgin.
Would be the ideal place for a last minute party on a busy night with over 7 people as no one will be here.
Walking back to our hotel, after being at the Jazz Festival, we thought we stop in for a bite to eat and a nightcap. After getting sat down and reviewing the menu, it took a while for the server to come back and take our order. We shared a couple of appetizers - the bruschetta was mushy, but the chicken... more
I was lucky enough to visit the F & F on Canada Day, entitling me to a limited selection of more expensive, rushed dishes. I assume the red and white Tostitos were left overs from Christmas but that could just be an exaggeration...Cinqo de Mayo is more likely. At an extra $5 for a meat topping and $2 for guacamole, the only thing layered about my $22 nacho frisbee was the price.
The pub earned...

It was far too long since I'd been here last. The atmosphere here is great and the location is awesome, as others have mentioned.
We managed to eek out the last possible table on the patio, which was great. There was a lot of confusion once we were seated; it took about 15 minutes to get drink menus. Once we got them everything else was good. The patio was great and they have a good selection...

Came here for lunch. The portobello mushroom sandwich was amazing! Service was good. My boyfriend said his club sandwich was average.
I must say it pains me to write this review. I WANT this bar to be good - the patio is excellent and the location is ideal (for me at least) but I'm afraid it just doesn't deliver. I've been here three times and among those visits my dinning experience was AVERAGE AT BEST. It doesn't surprise me that the reviews here are predominantly negative - the owners have no reason to invest in improving... more
went in for an early dinner. bar service was fine but getting a waitress to serve take our food order proved difficult. they seemed more keen on chatting in a huddle at the bar. nearly gave up and went elsewhere.
food was fine, when it eventually arrived, but there are better places with better service nearby on elgin st
We had a group of 5 and everyone's food was wonderful. The server was great and the owner even stopped by our table to make sure everything was good.
Popped in here for dinner whilst we are staying at the Business Inn which is practically next door. We both opted for the 6 inch pizza and a garden salad, you can have any three toppings on your... more
We were here for a friend's birthday and it was rather hard to get to. There was no street parking around and the buses don't run close. I and my husband stayed in a hotel next door and just tried this restaurant by chance, but found out the food is so-o-o-o good, service is fast, atmosphere is cozy, personnel is friendly... the rid-eye steak is something everyone has to try, and portions are generous! We came back next day, too!
Personally, I love the Fox and Feather. It's one of my fave pubs in the city - they make really good pizza. It has nooks and crannies to hang out in - a place to shoot pool, have a game of darts, or hang out on the rooftop patio.
Maybe I love it so much because it was one of the first pubs I visited after moving here....and God knows I'm easily pleased as long as someone else is bringing me...

The people here is kind and cool! I had fish and ships and It was ok. But overall If you want a beer and bar food you can get it here.
The honest staff at the Fox and Feather found my camera, lost after a big family lunch at the Fox and Feather, and put together the clues in the camera bag to find me and return it. This is clearly a place that cares for their customers.
Nice cozy restaurant - with great food for great prices. The window seats are great for people watching while you enjoy your meal!
Consistently a brilliant place, the various floors and rooms make organizing a get together super simple and they are happy to have your events there.
My last two birthdays have been on the third floor. They don't fuss that my friends bring a cake in from outside.

First time at this restaurant. They had great sale on rib eye steak so I decided to give it a try. Great meal. Waitress "Samantha" couldn't have been any friendlier. Good selection of beers on tap. Will likely be back again.
Weekend breakfast (bacon, eggs, hash browns) is very good and reasonably priced. Unlimited coffee is good.
Selection of draft beers would be much better if they had local and seasonal brews.
Recommended by the nearby Cartier Place Hotel staff for a late night beer and bar food. I skipped the food and had just a beer instead. The seasonal Oktoberfest billed at CN$7.50. A bit pricey, I thought. But the upstairs bar was friendly, if not a bit cramped. So overall I enjoyed myself. I'd go back for the atmosphere but I'd limit myself to just one beer like I did this time.
We are on a trip to Ottawa and have visited twice. The service is very fast , efficient and the food is good value.Easy to find on Elgin street(corner of Maclaren).Bus route 14 runs by if you don't want a taxi
My husband and I go to The Fox and Feather often. My Husband loves their Rib Eye Steak while I love their Vegetarian Fettuccine with a Cranberry/Walnut Salad. The service is always fast and friendly, the decor is beautiful, and their menu is reasonable price. We give this restaurant Five Stars.
We were seated pretty quickly in the restaurant and started ordering. I ordered the mini pizza and Caesar salad. I was later told the Caesar would be extra even though it says it's not on the menu. I ordered a deluxe pizza. The waitress left only to return later to tell me that I can only have three toppings on... more
I went to the Fox and Feather on Canada for a drink and quick bite with friends before the fireworks. Unfortunately I wish we would have picked somewhere's else. Work group had dinner here on a Monday night. The staff was attentive and pleasant, but the food wasn't particularly good. Perhaps better as a pub than a restaurant.
I don't understand the bad reviews. Our experience was really good. Excellent service and good food. The prices were above average but nothing out of the ordinary. Overall a solid meal.
We came the night before Canada Day, when the whole area was very busy. Every pub and eatery was packed, with many choosing to eat outside. Some friends took me there ... great place, good variety of brews, including some good house labels, beautiful, sexy, and friendly waitresses, good prices, and a really warm casual atmosphere, even though it was pretty busy
Lots of signs advertising a Rib Eye special hanging around the building - I'd walked by many times, and was craving steak.

The food was alright, but expensive. Two of us had a plate of nachos and a bowl of wings, and a drink each and the bill was $60. The nachos didn't have much flavor to them but the wings were tasty. Probably won't go back, simply because of the cost and so many other places in the area to try.
Haven't been here for awhile. They have several beers on tap and do the pre-made burger type offerings. Not bad though.
Food is pretty good. I only drank wine but I sat at the bar watching the bartender make drinks. Management must really regulate because each drink got only a small shot of alcohol. Don't expect a great menu with choice or inspriing dishes. This is a pub plain and simple. Not much more than your avereage burger and stew here. Breakfast/ brunch on weekends is pretty good but again average.
Among all the pubs in this section of town, I found the staff very professional and attentive, really a cut above! Food was very good and portions were generous, although don't look to this pub for traditional English pub fare, the menu is quite standard. Good variety of beers.
Went here for a business lunch with 3 others and ate outside on the upstairs terrace. It is really a scary kind of roof with tiles on it to make it look sturdy. The outside edge curves downward and the railing might hold back a 2 year old. Only my opinion on that ..... The waitress was very pleasant and... more
I'll be honest. I have never been here. Ever.
My reasoning for this review is for one sole reason. They FORBID their staff to celebrate Canada Day. It's just outrageous as people come from across the nation to celebrate in Ottawa (BTW, HIGHLY recommended) for Canada Day. It's one thing to have an opinion but to stop your employees from celebrating a great day in Canada is another.

Fox & Feather is on the Elgin strip. It's huge and has an excellent patio in the summer with lots of great pub items to choose from.
A pub lost on Elgin Street, but it's very good food, and the ambience is great. Please go there.
One thing about this bar is that the servers do pay attention to you.
The bad news is the food is mediocre. I guess it is what you should expect of pub food. The one thing it has going for it is a nice 2nd floor patio in the summer which is nice to eat on.
This place is definitely more "pub" than "grill" - the food is mediocre at best. The first time I came here, my burger sounded tasty, but was hugely disappointing when I got it, mostly because it was grilled beyond recognition. I went to Fox and Feather Saturday morning for Brunch and was really disappointed. The food I got, an hour after ordering in an less than full restaurant, was cold and tasteless. On top of that, I paid 1.75$ to get fruit instead of a salad and got 5 slices of fruit...Needless to say, it was also way overpriced. I do not recommend coming here.
Waited 30 mins for cold eggs and rock hard toast. Asked the waitress for new toast. After another 5 minutes she returned without toast to confirm that it would be ok that I be charged for it. At that point I decided to vocalize my complait of cold eggs, rock hard toast and slow service. No apology or explaination was given. She simply walked away. There's not much about this pub worth going to except its fantastic second floor patio that overlooks Elgin Street. Their food is unexceptional pub dishes that you can find almost anywhere, except the prices are a couple dollars more.
