Great food to price ratio!

I've been here a number of times (most recently yesterday afternoon).

I got my usual burger combo. The burger was okay. I did find the burger not as fresh or juicy. It wasn't bad or horrible tasting, just take I've had better burgers from other restaurants. I wish I could give zero stars

I wanted to get a steak. They advertise their steak and potato special for 17$. I was greeted by a gentleman at the door and have been assured that this weak should be at least 30$. I believed and walked in.

Went with a group of coworkers on a sunny day. Our meal was great and the patio made it better. Portions were nice and they had a little more diversity than your average pub menu. No free refills drops it down to four stars.

This place is really good! We went for brunch on a Sunday morning during Winterlude.
Lighting is very good because of large windows. Food portions are very big and also well prepared. Bottomless coffee on a Sunday morning is always nice. Cons: poor drink selection, terrible layout, food isn't all that good and the service is lacking. Had a bad experience trying to get a drink and it failed to provide a single area to like. Would not recommend unless have 0 other options on Elgin.

Would be the ideal place for a last minute party on a busy night with over 7 people as no one will be here.

I was lucky enough to visit the F & F on Canada Day, entitling me to a limited selection of more expensive, rushed dishes. I assume the red and white Tostitos were left overs from Christmas but that could just be an exaggeration...Cinqo de Mayo is more likely. Hit the spot

Came here for lunch. The portobello mushroom sandwich was amazing! Service was good. My boyfriend said his club sandwich was average.

reluctant service

went in for an early dinner. bar service was fine but getting a waitress to serve take our food order proved difficult. they seemed more keen on chatting in a huddle at the bar. nearly gave up and went elsewhere.

I went to the Fox and Feather with my husband and cousins! We had the best waiter ever! I wish I knew her name, but I totally didn't get it! She was amazing! She lead us through choices on our beer flights and helped with orders! She was attentive and on top of things!

Great Steak

We went there Saturday night and it was very busy Winterlude long weekend and Valentines Weekend... Glad we had a reservation Took awhile to get served but the waitress was really busy Rib eye steak was amazing...I was very surprised.. Very tender.. Will have to go back next time we are in Ottawa on a quieter night or for lunch..

just perfect

I and my husband stayed in a hotel next door and just tried this restaurant by chance, but found out the food is so-o-o-o good, service is fast, atmosphere is cozy, personnel is friendly... the rid-eye steak is something everyone has to try, and portions are generous! We came back next day, too!

Personally, I love the Fox and Feather. It's one of my fave pubs in the city - they make really good pizza. It has nooks and crannies to hang out in - a place to shoot pool, have a game of darts, or hang out on the rooftop patio.
Maybe I love it so much because it was one of the first pubs I visited after moving here....and God knows I'm easily pleased as long as someone else is bringing me... more

The honest staff at the Fox and Feather found my camera, lost after a big family lunch at the Fox and Feather, and put together the clues in the camera bag to find me and return it. This is clearly a place that cares for their customers.

Cozy

Nice cozy restaurant - with great food for great prices. The window seats are great for people watching while you enjoy your meal!

Consistently a brilliant place, the various floors and rooms make organizing a get together super simple and they are happy to have your events there.

My last two birthdays have been on the third floor. They don't fuss that my friends bring a cake in from outside.

1st Time Visit

First time at this restaurant. They had great sale on rib eye steak so I decided to give it a try. Great meal. Waitress "Samantha" couldn't have been any friendlier. Good selection of beers on tap. Will likely be back again.

good value breakfast

Weekend breakfast (bacon,eggs, hash browns) is very good and reasonably priced. Unlimited coffee is good.
Selection of draft beers would be much better if they had local and seasonal brews.

Recommended by the nearby Cartier Place Hotel staff for a late night beer and bar food. I skipped the food and had just a beer instead. The seasonal Oktoberfest billed at CN$7.50. A bit pricey, I thought. But the upstairs bar was friendly, if not a bit cramped. So overall I enjoyed myself. I'd go back for the atmosphere but I'd limit myself to just one beer like I did this time.

We love this place

My husband and I go to The Fox and Feather often. My Husband loves their Rib Eye Steak while I love their Vegetarian Fettuccine with a Cranberry/Walnut Salad. The service is always fast and friendly, the decor is beautiful, and their menu is reasonable price. We give this restaurant Five Stars.

Didn't discover the dart boards until my last day, too late to play for me! Visited this place a couple of times with family. Good food and service. Just a little away from 'downtown' Ottawa on Elgin Street, but worth the walk, handy if you're staying at the Holiday Inn, Cooper Street.

Generally good, even for kids

We ordered the nachos and they came out awfully quickly and it was a truly mistake.

Over priced, Bad quality food

Food was cold when when I got it, then when I went to eat it, I noticed it was made incorrectly (I asked for no mayo as I have an egg allergy). When the it was finally replaced there was a hair in my food. At this point I was no longer hungry and just wanted to leave.

Good food, but expensive

The food was alright, but expensive. Two of us had a plate of nachos and a bowl of wings, and a drink each and the bill was $60. The nachos didn't have much flavor to them but the wings were tasty. Probably won't go back, simply because of the cost and so many other places in the area to try.

Average or better drinking hole

Haven't been here for awhile. They have several beers on tap and do the pre-made burger type offerings. Not bad though.

TYpical pub

Don't expect a great menu with choice or inspriing dishes. This is a pub plain and simple. Not much more than your avereage burger and stew here. Breakfast/ brunch on weekends is pretty good but again average.

Service stands out

Among all the pubs in this section of town, I found the staff very professional and attentive, really a cut above! Food was very good and portions were generous, although don't look to this pub for traditional English pub fare, the menu is quite standard. Good variety of beers.

Went here for a business lunch with 3 others and ate outside on the upstairs terrace. It is really a scary kind of roof with tiles on it to make it look sturdy. My reasoning for this review is for one sole reason. They FORBID their staff to celebrate Canada Day. It's just outrageous as people come from across the nation to celebrate in Ottawa (BTW, HIGHLY recommended) for Canada Day. It's one thing to have an opinion but to stop your employees from celebrating a great day in Canada is another.

The food is typical pub, but bad. We were served our food cold and our drinks were very....ummm....less tasteful than they should have been. The service is sporadic at best with apathy being a good attitude term.

Pretty decent appetizers

And they had Rolling Rock on Tap!!!!! I was surprised how reasonable it was for 4 pitchers of Rolling Rock, 3 orders of wings, an order of chicken fingers and nachos. I guess it was half price until 6pm, but all in all it was pretty good!

Great atmosphere at the bar

I ate at the bar and watched the hockey game. The staff and management at the bar are very friendly and want to strike up a conversation with all the patrons.The Portobello mushroom sandwich is the best!

This used to be my regular pub when it was a block from my house. The food is goes from mediocre to ok depending on kitchen turnover or so it feels.

Mediocore food, good service

One thing about this bar is that the servers do pay attention to you.

Started to make this my local. The bar area is nice and modern, lots of TV's on the walls, nice friendly waitress's. Free pool table and darts upstairs which is cool. Food portions huge and well priced. Should be alot higher up in rating!

If you're looking for a place on Elgin Street to soak up the Ottawa sun then this is the place. However, if you're looking for quality food (even quality pub dishes) or excellent service, you should probably keep on walking down the street.

I went to Fox and Feather Saturday morning for Brunch and was really disappointed. The food I got, an hour after ordering in an less than full restaurant, was cold and tasteless. On top of that, I paid 1.75$ to get fruit instead of a salad and got 5 slices of fruit...Needless to say, it was also way overpriced. I do not recommend coming here.
