I have never wanted to go back to a restaurant to just have their green salad but this one is the most amazing compilation of tender greens I have ever eaten. Every mouthful was a burst of new flavours.

The view was spectacular and the food was superb. Highlights were the spinach-mushroom ricotta ravioli, the best ever, and the green salad with berries and fruit crisps, every so fresh with sprouted greens. Enjoyed the sauteed sole and the lobster-halibut-scallop entrees very much too. Sauces are lovely.

Fabulous Meal

What a great dining experience. The food was outstanding. My husband had the beef and I had lamb. They were perfectly cooked and delicious. The grand marnier souffle was scrumptious. With the glorious view on a beautiful suuny day in Vancouver it would be hard to top this dining experience!

Wonderful evening

Highlight of our dinners during our vacation. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food and views were amazing. I had the pea soup which was lovely , followed by lobster and a beautiful chocolate desert

disappointing experience

Salmon was prepared sous vide method and overcooked, and the albumin was very visible. The finishing was sauce rather than broiled or seared. We have loved this restaurant in the past, but unfortunately will not return.

I enjoyed an absolutely superb meal at this outstanding restaurant. Stuck with seafood and was not disappointed,as I enjoyed Lobster Bisque,Lobster,Scallop and catch of the day and finished with a sublime Grand Marnier soufflé ! Aside from the long wait after being seated, the remaining evening proved to be a remarkable culinary experience. The view simply grandiose and food Outstanding! Our special occasion dinner was elegant and fitting. The dessert soufflé worth the 25 minute wait.

Very good food and wine with very attentive service - perhaps too attentive when it comes to poring wine... The server ridiculed me when I ordered Jasmine Tea after the dinner. He said the restaurant only serves "normal tea." Well, pray tell, what is "normal tea" to his standards? Jasmine tea is one of the most common teas I know of. This restaurant also has a ridiculous policy: on a busy night, guests are not seated until everyone in the party has arrived. Food to match the magnificent view

What a magnificent setting! And while a restaurant such as this might be tempted to get lazy with the food, at Five Sails the cuisine shines just as much as the view.

One of a kind

I had a cooked liver for a starter, it was out of this world. The halibut was the best I have ever tasted also, was cooked to perfection. I only wish it was closer so we could go more often, can't wait to return.

This was a wonderful restaurant in a wonderful hotel. I had visited only once before, loved it & decided to try again on my visit to Vancouver. My sister & I were not disappointed, we were positively amazed for the 2nd time! The food, the ambience, the view, the service was the "icing on the cake", for our 3 day stay. The appetizers we ordered are Beef tartar and Ahi Tuna tartar,both taste are awesome. Highly recommended.The main courses are Smoked Duck Breast and Venison quality of food are excellent but the portions seems a bit small.The other dish highly recommend is souffle as dessert MUST HAVE!

We visited Vancouver and got to several of the "top" restaurants. Five Sails was our favorite, all the way around. The ambiance, food and service were all remarkable.
