My family enjoyed a great lobster supper at Fisherman's Wharf restaurant in PEI. The have a huge, 60 foot buffet, and initially, I was a bit concerned about going to this restaurant because my younger son is allergic to peanuts. Buffets are always tricky when you have a food allergy because there is a real risk of cross contamination. When... more
Had dinner here last week. Salad bar was very good. Chose the lobster. Lobster was excellent but no cracking tools were provided. Disliked the cold rolls and pie. Probably won't return. Too touristy.
Walked in and around and was very disappointed. Buffet looked sorry for itself and it had a run down feel. Very mass appeal. Lobster was also overpriced. So crowded it felt impersonal and like a service station on a motorway. Walked out.
Went into the restaurant with our young children and got scared away by the price of the lobster dinners etc in the dining room. We chose instead to eat fish and chips in the restaurant attached next door. It was great food but the waitress was miserable from start to end. All in all, great food but forgettable service.
It is our tradition to have lobster at the fIsherman's wharfs whenever we visit PEI. The price is reasonable ($32.00) for a losbster which includes drinks, seafood chowder, soup, an extended salad bar, mussels, deserts (strawberry shortcake, pies, squares and ice cream). This time we had lobster and steak ($39.00) and as always, everything was as expected except for the... more
Great food, great buffet, great atmosphere, great location if you want a quality meal at a great price then you must visit Fishermans Wharf while in PEI. Dine while overlooking Rustico Harbour. Watch the boats come in while you sit and enjoy one of the best lobster dinners on the Island.
Nothing to dislike here
Came here because we could not find the New Glasgow Lobster Supper so we thought why not try this. We paid for 1lb lobster and the much touted 60' salad bar. A 400+ seat restaurant in PEI like this is rare. Just as the lobster was served, in came several busloads of tourists. No doubt, the main aisle became like... more
This place never disappoints. Great food! So much to choose from at the buffet, and of course, the lobster is delicious!
It was a family tradition for us to visit this establishment at the end of our trip every year for the past 16 years.. but for the last 3 years it has become a monotonous chore rather than enjoyment.
Service is or should I say lack of service is not very pleasing for a the cost of the meal for...

The food here is excellent. We started off with a trip to the salad bar, then chowder which was very good and my husband chose shrimp and I scallops, with a baked potato. The homemade rolls and biscuits were delicious. Desserts in the buffet had a variety of pies and squares but strawberry shortcake was also available from the kitchen.... more
Buffet was good and simple! Perhaps slightly pricey...!
We ordered a LOBSTER..slightly over cooked!
It was fun to do...but next time, we probably wouldnt do it!
The food is good and plentiful, but the real shining star here is the staff. Friendly, courteous, not at all obtrusive, yet ready with refills just as you need them. Aimee was great at her job!
The buffet is clearly overpriced at $75 for two people, but I can imagine there is huge overhead in that large building. Lots of...

My husband and I recently went to this restaurant for the 1st time. We arrived exactly at noon and there were only about 3 or 4 other tables there at the same time. This was very much to our advantage as the amount of time it took to get through the buffet line greatly multiplies as the restaurant gets more... more
The food here is excellent and the 60ft salad bar is amazing. You could save money and just eat the salad bar it is that well stocked. We highly recommend you stop here for a meal if you in the North Rustico area. You will be impressed.
I was very pleased with the service. Very friendly staff, quickly attended to and meal was prepared quickly as well. The meal (crab) was served to me cold. I wasn't asked if I wanted it hot or cold (as I heard another table being asked that question) so I am not sure whose fault that would be (the server or... more
My family went to Fisherman's Wharf on our last night in PEI. the food was good. In comparison to the St Glasgow Lobster supper restaurant, they had the self serving island (60 foot long) for of the salads, breads, desserts, PEI mussels, drinks and desserts. The mussels weren't as hot compared to the other restaurant but still taste the same.... more
I would not eat here if I was paying full price...find it much too costly for just a dinner.. we had a special rate and reason to go, anniversary.. \everything was very good, but I prefer to buy looblsters and cook them as I can get 4 times as many for my money.
My wife and I went to Fisherman's Wharf on our last night in PEI. Our server Aimee was very nice and, for the most part, the food was good. The bread was excellent, the all you can eat mussels were great and the strawberry rhubarb pie was a fabulous ending to dinner. We were very full and happy when we... more
Chose this lobster house based on salad bar. Visited with wife and grandson. They both had just the salad bar and I added on a 1 1/2 lb lobster. You enter, pay for either salad bar or salad bar and seafood add-on. We thought the salad bar (unlimited visits which includes lots of choices of salads, veggies, fruits, other items... more
We ordered our food, were seated in a terrible spot. There were window seats but none available when we were seated. We were seated in a two seater place with a wall in front of us, so no view at all. Once a seat became available by the windows, we took it. By moving, it took at least 15-20 minutes... more
I have dined at Fishermans Wharf Lobster supper many times and it never disappoints me. They have the best tasting lobsters and the most amazing salad bar! And dessert is a treat as well. Ask for the strawberry shortcake. If you are not a lobster fan they have steak, ham, scallops, snow crab (my personal favorite) and if you are... more
I was blown away by the salad bar- not by how good it was, but by how many if the items on it came from a package, were made off site. I could buy half of it at a grocery store, or maybe more. Same with the desserts.
Go to a church supper like St. Ann's, a place like the...

I have had MUCH better and fresher tasting seafood at smaller restaurants on the island.
Since I was young, there has always been a great deal of hype about this restaurant, I remember seeing lineups out the door at the 5pm supper rush. When we arrived during our trip, at supper time (5:15) there wasn't a single person there. After...

Great place for lobster, seafood and the large buffet, great value for your money.....all you can eat.
Was so excited to have some seafood on my visit to the island. I ordered a seafood platter and it was the worst, everything was seriously overcooked. For what i paid for my family to eat there I was expecting better!
My husband was dead set on partaking of a local lobster supper, so we stopped in at Fisherman's Wharf on our first night on PEI. It is known for its 60 ft salad bar, which was quite impressive. My husband had the classic lobster supper with a 1.5 lb lobster and I had the giant shrimp. Both were very good,... more
I am a tour director and have had many groups visit Fisherman's Wharf and all the comments I received were from GREAT to FANTASTIC to WOW. Allen, Troy, Robert, and all the staff deserve a pat-on-the-back for sure! The 60-foot Super-Duper all-you-can-eat salad bar is Super-Duper Supreme. Not only salads. All-you-can-eat Seafood Chowder, Steamed Mussels, desserts, and the list goes... more
this might be what it would be like. We were somewhat disappointed with our lobster dinner. The salad bar was fairly extensive but not that tasty. Plain butter served with the lobster - no garlic or lemon. Deserts all seemed to be topped with 'whipping cream' that tasted more like petroleum by-product. We didn't go back. But others around us... more
One of the few times I can say that a restaurant is as excellent as advertised!! The salad bar selection was good and fresh, with an added bonus of fresh steamed mussels and a delicious chowder. The fresh hot lobster was fantastic and the breaded shrimp were also very good with a nice, crispy breading. The dessert portion of the... more
We ditched our plans to eat at a fancy restaurant in Charlottetown and instead drove up to North Rustico (about a 30 minute drive). This is a must-stop for lobster dinner when visiting Prince Edward Island. The fresh lobster was great and the 60-foot salad bar helped balance off our sea-food heavy meal. Simply delicious.
The buffet meal is very good. I had many bowls of the clam chowder and we all enjoyed our dinner there.
Huge facility with a massive hot and cold buffet featuring seafood chowder, mussels, and a vast assortment of desserts to choose from. You can select from lobster, steak, or shrimp to accompany your buffet, or just stick with the buffet. Prices are reasonable, considering what you get, but are a little on the higher side. Regardless, I return every time... more
Awesome lobster sandwich, chowder and potato croquet! Also, the homemade rolls are amazing! Wg ate in the main restaurant so I can't comment if the buffet if worth it. The portions were so huge that I can't imagine what you'd want a buffet!
It was recommended by the Sweater Company next door and we really wish they hadn't told us to go there! The food is truly horrible, greasy and ill-prepared! There was nothing we enjoyed here. We shared the lobster supper for two and had haddock as well. I didn't think it was possible to spoil such good seafood to this degree,... more
Food was edible, but that was it. Salad bar was average. Lobster was too small. Overall I did not enjoy it and for $80 for 2 it was a lot for very little. They do have a lot of selection on the smorgasbord, but food is sub standard.
This place caters to tour buses and that is their main business....

We chose this restaurant because their salad bar sounded like a good idea in their advertisements. WRONG. It did have many offerings which were of substandard quality. Beverage is included in the price and we requested iced tea---it was more like lemonade and awful. It was replaced by Sprite. The chowder was watered down and gray in color, lacking any... more
Loved the salad bar as I was looking for a place offering variety. The lobster was nicely cooked, and the service was excellent.
Average food that is way overpriced- $31.00 for roast chicken! My wife enjoyed the lobster but it was not until we had finished our meal that she learned the kitchen would have done all the " work" for her and removed the shell. The salad bar is long, but only average. Don't waste a meal here.
Food was good, very nice environment, salad bar was included with dinner. Wish i could have my dinner there again.... more
I must say, I've never had a sweeter lobster. Oh My! It was good! And the mussels were yummy, too!
However, all the surrounding foods on the extensive buffet were.......fair to middlin'. Actually, the seafood chowder was not even worth eating, nor were the desserts.
When we left, we said that if we had a chance to come here again,...

We loved the lobster, mussels, chowder, snow crab, scallops, haddock, salads, rolls, biscuits, desserts, service and quality of the food! We will definitely go again! An expensive night but worth it!!!
We went to this restaurant 20 years ago and really liked it. We went back this past week, and it's still the same quality as back then. You order your lobster and pay before sitting, or if someone doesn't like lobster, you can order another fish or steak. Upon paying you are escorted to your table, and brought a cup... more
We ate in the restaurant side of this place and it was one of the worst restaurant meals I have ever had! Fish and chips - the haddock tasted like it came out of a box. fantastic, the salad bar was well stocked. Wonderful selection of desserts. The lobster was great. Staff were very helpful. Would recommend this to others.
There are 2 parts to the restaurant. We really had no idea where to really go. We were advised for seafood go to the buffet side and other to the other side. We were seated in the restaurant part without a view. There were seven of us; some of us wanted seafood and others not. My husband and I had... more
We enjoyed our meal at Fisherman's Wharf. It wasn't out of this world, but the service was good and the food was average. My husband had the surf and turf which he would highly recommend, but for the rest of the family didn't have anything too positive to say.
absolutely fantastic dining experience from beginning to end the salad bar is well stocked with fresh everything and i had the lobster and it was the best i have ever had.highly recommended
when you first enter, you see the very expensive side of the restaurant, boasting the 60' salad bar (for $21.99.. which is the lowest item on their menu from what we saw posted) but then we saw there was a lunch side of the restaurant, where the prices were considerably better. We sat in the lunch restaurant, and service was... more
We were staying in another part of the island, but headed up to Cavendish for the day and my husband really wanted to go to one of the lobster suppers. We ended up at Fisherman's Wharf because they offer a lunchtime meal. The meal started with chowder which in my opinion was below average... Thickened with flour, greyish in color... more
We took the whole family for the world famous lobster supper. Dinner started with fresh rolls and seafood chowder followed by a 60 foot salad bar. With a 60 foot salad bar (including unlimited muscles) there was almost no need for lobster! Lobster was served hot or cold and there were other alternatives for those that didn't eat lobster (fish,... more
This has become a family ritual while visiting my extended family on the island in the summers. My brothers try to have buffet eating contests to get their moneys worth. It is super expensive for the quality but it's great for family fun and you can never go wrong with a lobster supper! Yummy. You'll see me next summer!
No visit to the PEI is done right without a trip to Fisherman's Wharf. Located on the north end of the Island you can book-end your trip with your choice of touristy action - Green Gables, Cavendish Beach sunsets, they're all close by.So here's how it works: You select your main entree from the popular lobster to fish to steaks to chicken. Each meal, priced differently, comes with the famous... more
We were disappointed to see that many Lobster Suppers in the Cavendish area were not open on Victoria Day. Luckily, although Fisherman's Wharf was not doing their "Lobster Supper," their regular restaurant section was still open for à la carte dinners that day. Service was brisk but not unfriendly. I left 10lbs heavier that day...my stomach didn't know what was coming. I had the lobster...but the most memorable experience there was the PEI mussels...UNLIMITED PEI MUSSELS! At least not in front of us.Did I mention the salad bar was huge!? The place is... more
Really great food and very cool experience! Lobster suppers were mentioned in our Lonely Planet book as a "must do" while in PEI and I'm really glad we did it. So the restaurant is massive. It seats like 400 people--imagine that. Now imagine the place being packed full people eating lobster everywhere! Awesome! The restaurant was easy to find (thanks to the GPS) and we got a table right away.... more
