Everyone "Gone Fishin

Great assortment not just fish, chicken, beef and veggies choices. Service is always friendly and fast...portions are generous and the desserts are hard to resist. Great for romance but also family friendly. Been a patron since it was a chip stand .. Many years ago. Nice drink list...very food martinis.

Great Local Seafood Spot

The Fish Bowl always offers a friendly atmosphere with good food at a decent price. The service is polite and is some of the best that you will get in Timmins.
The fish and chips are excellent, but food other than seafood is also well-prepared.

Good quality for reasonable price

One of the nicer restaurants in Timmins, the selection isn't only fish but also some nice pastas. I have been many times and would certainly go again.

Fish at its best

We thoroughly enjoy dining at the fish bowl with family. It has a very nice ambiance. Ask for dining in the front room. Best times is a little later in the evening(7:30-8pm) when it is quieter. Service is very good. Love the fish & chips(Sub a salad) special.

You pay for what you don't get

For a fish restaurant, they encourage you to order anything but fish. From the sign outside to the fry hut, they don't want to serve fish. I ordered fish anyway and there was very little taste, lacking any kind of spice or sauce. But you definitely pay a lot. I will look for another place to spend my $100.

Great food and service

They have a great wine selection, and mouthwatering desserts. Amazing service and a clean, homey atmosphere. Always a great escargot getaway. I come here all the time, hidden gem in Timmins. Never a bad experience and highly recommended to anyone.

Dinner

I was a little disappointed as it was our staff Xmas dinner and I had the surf and turf. My lobster tail was under cooked and had to wait for another lobster tail to be boiled. Everybody else were done eating by the time I got my lobster tail.

Very good restaurant

The food is good (not exceptional), service is usually very good & the atmosphere is pleasing. Owners are usually always during the peak times & they make sure things move fairly quickly & that quality control is good.

Closer to home meal away from home

The seafood medley pasta was good. I am not a fan of pasta drenched in tomato source but the pesto saved the seafood. The Thai chicken salad was ok..but I have had better. Nice meal

Not a lot of fine restaurant dining choices in a small town like Timmins but I did manage to enjoy a nice dinner at the Fish Bowl. I ordered the fresh trout which came with salad, choice of potato or rice and steamed vegetables. All in all a nice meal with friendly service but the restaurant could use upgrading.

Delicious lobster linguine

Clean and well maintained restaurant with excellent service and generous portions. We ordered the lobster linguine and it was easily the best pasta dish we've tasted. Have enough left over to have it to go! Two thumbs up, most definitely will recommend.

I would give this another star except for me I feel there could be more options at this restaurant. Granted it is a fish place, but even if they had a few more salad options it would help. Best service we have had in a long time

My husband and I went for a glass of wine and dessert last evening . Our waitress was the best server we have had in a very long time . Carrot cake, apple pie , coffee and a glass of Argentine Malbec topped with amazing service! Doesn't get better than this ;)

just great seafood

This nice and frequented Restaurant (would say better with Reservation) is located on Algonquin Boulevard with a large and accessible parking.
Also the restaurant is easy accessible, the waiters and waitresses are caring for their guests and the Food is just great. I had Lobster filled mushroom caps and the fisherman plate - mmmmmhh

Great fish and chips

By far, the best restaurant in Timmins!! the owners take great pride in the premises, the operation and service!! they even opened a "Chip Hut" adjacent to the restaurant! They serve local beef that is grass fed and hormone free.

Good local restuarant

The Fish Bowl is a very good local restaurant. It has great food, up beat and good ambiance. Thew best dish is their deep fried fish and chips. I don't think there is a better restaurant in Canada for Fish and Chips.

Excellent

Went out with a party of 9. Our waitress was funny and very prompt, made sure that if something did go wrong at any time in the experience that it was taken care of right away. Food was fantastic, definitly one of my fav places to eat in Timmins!!

Tried the specialty

Tried the house specialty - fish and chips. Not the best that I have had but good with very large portions. One piece $11 and two pieces $15. The service was good for our group of 20 people.

A second chance

They say everyone deserves a second chance, so this trip to Timmins I tried the Fish Bowl again and it was much better. It is still a noisy restaurant but the service and food were great. Hit and miss

Have eaten here about 10 times over the last few months as I have been in the area for business. It's hit and miss here, some days the food is good, others,nits has been downright awful. I have fish and chips (their specialty) and it was not good, fish was soggy!

Fishing for a Great Meal

This restaurant has excellent food. The owners and staff are professional and work hard to make your experience, one to remember. Reservations are recommended because there are waiting lists on the weekends.

Still the best place in town

I was at the Fishbowl a few weeks ago and was amazed by the quality of food, service and cleanliness. The salmon and steak were perfectly cook, the server was outstanding. Timmins should be proud having this fantastic restaurant in their community. I traveled for business and this is the perfect place for a business dinner.

We were at fish bowl for Valentine special last night. It was excellent.Wife's steak was very high quality and cooked just right. The Fisherman's platter was also very good. Service was excellent.

Best Chippy in town

I've been coming here since 1981 when I helped open Top Hat Amusements on Pine St. This has got to be one of Northern Ontarios' best fish & chip restaurants ever. When ever visiting Timmins I try to make it here for their fish, if you enjoy this type of food try not to pass them up.

Nice light battered fish

Had fish and chips, and was pleasantly surprised at the nice light batter on the fish. Coleslaw needs improving, but the meal was good.

Riverside Chicken

It was so tasty, I can't wait to go back and have it again. A must try for the hicken lovers out there!

I visited Fish Bowl recently and the hostess had a little trouble finding me a table cleaned up from previous diners. I mentioned that someone was not doing their job and she (politely)smiled at me. Over priced for the Portion

Fish and chips....was it a minnow?? Portions are very small. When they have their all you can eat. The waitress told us that you had to eat all the chips too before she would bring another plate, found this a little embarrassing.

Seafood is great and so are the desserts

I travel to Timmins frequently and always make sure that I go to the Fishbowl at least one night. The seafood is terrific and the desserts are great too (try the carrot cake!)

strong smell

the service was good but the restaurant smelled of old oil and very fishy..i know that it is calld the fishbowl but should not smell like one.

Great Fish and Chips

When travelling we always try to find local restaurants. The Fish Bowl in Timmins was a great choice. They told us that their fish and chips is what got them started in 1976 and is still their signature dish. Love the decor and menu

i am a seafood-aholic and so glad to have a good menu with lobster, crab, mussels, shrimp, etc being offered at a reasonable price. The menu has changed over the years but this one strikes me as a winner. Excellent desserts too and the service is good too.

Yummy food and wine

Fish is done properly here. Nice menu, good specials. Really enjoyed ourselves. Good service too. Although not exactly fancy decor and the dessert menu could use a spruce up, but passable.

Too costly and too little variety

Have been quite a number of times and the food is bland, servings are small and too pricey. Staff are nice but a bit pretentious.

Many years ago, this was a nice quaint, not too expensive place for a family to get home made fish and chips. Now it expensive, pretentious and they've lowered their food quality. Won't be back.

Alternative, healthy and classy

Probably the longest living restaurant in Timmins, and for good reason. The Absolute Best Seafood Dining in town. Better restaurant than Casablanca. Not as good as the Airport Hotel. Decent prices. Good food. Good service.

Excellent quality and serving sizes. Wide variety of menu items and a pleasant comfortable eating environment. Taste and quality of food is excellent, especially in a northern community. Better than most seafood experiences. A must taste!
