We stayed for seven nights in our one bedroom apartment. The service was good and the standard of cleanliness was excellent. The rooms were spacious and very well equipped.
Have to agree with the comment made by Hibiscuss99, that the room was a little on the warm side.
Firelight was very hard for ski in and ski out and the room service was terrible. Floors where disgusting and one day our room didn't get made up. The hot water system was terrible and we hardly had a hot shower. Overall a poor experience
We rented a one bedroom suite here for a week and had a great time. Our room overlooked the pond and we didn't find the noise from the pond or nordic track maintenance to be too loud. In fact, we loved the proximity to both (plus the bowling alley and tube park).
The room was bright and roomy, with two...

My husband and I stayed for 2 nights in a studio. Great access to the both downhill and cross country trails. Very good amenities with convenient ski lockers, communal outdoor hot tub, and a nice studio kitchen with fridge, microwave, toaster and coffee maker.
Our only complaint would be that since the studios are lock off units connected to a...

Our family of 4 (kids age 12 and 14) stayed at the Fire Light Lodge for 5 nights. When we made the reservation, the accommodation where we stayed for the last 5 years was fully booked so we reserved in what we thought would be the “next best place” in town/village.
We came to Fire Light with an open mind...

Our group of 4 (two couples) stayed in Room 406 which overlooked the pond/skating rink. This was a spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom unit with high ceilings. The Firelight is well located just a short walk across a parking lot to the lifts and an easy ski-in by coming down over the bridge at the bottom of the Alpine Meadows... more
No criticisms at all. To complain about this place there would be something wrong with you. Reasonably priced, great location, well appointed apartments, friendly staff, very family friendly resort, lots for the kids to do in addition to the skiing. Ice skating and tube town near the pond was a lot of fun. You won't find any snow making facilities... more
This was the best location for our family to access all the amenities and fun filled activities that silver star offers during the winter season. We arrived to a welcoming smile from front office staff and parking close enough that we could unload all the items needed for skiing. We stayed in the corner unit which was a 2 bedroom... more
Firelight is one of the newest accommodations on the mountain. There are several types of rooms to choose from. We took the most basic which is a studio suite. It had a kitchenette which included a fridge (no freezer), sink, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, and blender. For cutlery and dishes there were a few plates, bowls, can opener, cutting... more
Booked a three bed, two bath suit (with private hot tub) for a girls weekend/wedding. Suite was clean, fully stocked and beautifully furnished. Off-season rates were fantastic and location would be perfect during the winter ski season. One tip: there's not much for grocery shopping on mountain during the summer, so be sure to stock up in Kelowna/Vernon before heading... more
I have stayed in the firelight lodge now two summers. I just can't say enough about the wonderful experience it has been each summer. Go to the beach during the day and relax in the comfort of a top notch facility in the evening. Dinner at the Bulldog is also a must. The rooms are super clean and high standards... more
We had a family reunion Aug 2- 5 2013 for 68 people. Accommodations were 'awesome'! The staff was were friendly and helpful in every way. I was one of the organizers for it and from the planning Silver Star Holidays, until we left, we were all very happy and none of the family had anything negative to say. The only... more
We had a family reunion of Canada-wide visitors from Newfoundland to BC coast and we all had a super time. With 19 rooms booked in the Firelight, it was easy to mingle from room to room and not feel like you were in a closet.
It wasn't the best weather so our pancake breakfasts were dampened and we managed to...

We stayed in the FireLight Lodge while my wife was taking a mountain biking camp. We had a one bedroom premium suite with a separate bedroom, kitchen and dining area, and a hot tub on the balcony. The room was beautiful and the hot tub felt great after a day of riding. The staff was friendly and very helpful as... more
This was our first trip to the Silver Star Mountain Resort. The Firelight Lodge is the perfect spot for a family to stay. It is fairly brand new, so the units are in great shape and very clean. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit. Lots of room for a family of 4. It has a full kitchen so... more
The Firelight Lodge is one of the newest properties at Silver Star and is convenient to lots of activities and one of the best runs for learning to ski at the Silver Queen Chair. We had a two bedroom premium unit on the third floor and it was a great layout. Two full bathrooms came in very handy with two... more
We spent the last weekend at the Firelight Lodge to attend a wedding. Thge rooms were spacious and had small kitchenettes. One oddity was they dfid not have any closet space anywhere - not even a rod to hang your clothes. Perhaps it was work underway but it was still odd.
We also did not get any room servicing during...

We spent a week here after two weeks in Sun Peaks and were impressed by the superior quality of accommodation. Bright modern apartments with a spacious and well appointed kitchen. Ski out was easy down to the Silver Queen chair but in was a little more difficult with a walk across the main carpark from the village, or down from... more
Booked Firelight Lodge based on the fact that it is one of the newest properties at Silver Star. We had a studio unit on the first floor. It was equipped with basic kitchenette amenities including microwave, mini fridge, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, as well as utensils and dishes for 2 people and this was adequate for our needs. Bed was... more
We spent a fabulous week at Silver Star and slept 6 nights in a quiet private accomodation. We travel every year to a different BC ski resort for our winter family holidays and Silver Star offered us by far the best experience to our entire family.
We decided to extend our stay by one night and book a two bedroom...

We travelled to Canada for the first time in February 2013 and spent a week at Firelight lodge in Silverstar. Our adult daughter travelled with us and so we booked a 2 bedroom apartment which had 1 bathroom and a kitchen. The apartment was spacious and contained all the necessary requirements for a comfortable stay. The balcony did look straight... more
We stayed here for a friend's birthday weekend and enjoyed ourselves immensely. We spent two nights in a one bedroom unit with a kitchen. Amenities in the room were excellent. We missed having a private hot tub, however. The shared hot tub downstairs was average--a bit too chemically for my taste, and often busy. My husband and I don't ski... more
We stayed here for two nights in January 2013 as part of a road trip along the Powder Highway. The Firelight Lodge is apparently the newest accommodation in Silver Star and it shows, with both the room and common areas looking spotless. We stayed in room 102B which was a studio with a massive bed, kitchenette (sink, fridge, coffee machine,... more
We stayed in a two bedroom unit at the Firelight. We simply could not have asked for more a great accommodation at Silverstar. The complex is right beside the ice skating rink, which affords an excellent opportunity to play hockey apres ski. We really enjoyed being able to ski in and ski out with ease.
While we were there a...

This hotel definitely deserves more reviews, so I decided to write one :) We stayed in 1 bedroom suite for 10 nights over Xmas and New Year in 2011/2012. It's a great new hotel with nice facilities and friendly staff. We didn't get the room with private hot tub, but we used the communal one nearly every day and a... more
We love this place! Staff is so helpful, accommodating. First visited in 2010. Rented a 1 bedroom unit, living room, full bath, full kitchen - for me extremely important. Patio with private hut tub (optional) - extremely important for my husband after doing his own stunts on the mountain :) Patio is also equipped with BBQ.
This year we didn't...

So, we went to the Firelight Lodge for two nights over the August long weekend.
To be honest, we were trying to stay in Vernon, but everything was booked.
So, we ended up in Silver Star. I had never been before, but will certainly return.
Think - very mini Whistler, but with brighter paint. :)...
