The atmosphere at Fire on the East Side is laid back and comfortable. Using only the freshest of ingredients, we've created a southern inspired menu that is sure to please. An extensive wine list, signature martinis like "Hey Loosey" and "Liza's Pillbox", a selection of draft beers and scrumptious fresh desserts, all add in making Fire on the East Side ... more
Fire on the East Side offers a southern-inspired menu for brunch, lunch and dinner with selections including Southern Fried Chicken, Pan Seared Black Cod, Jambalaya and Fried Oysters.
In April 2010 I gave this place a "4". Unfortunately, a return visit the other day was nowhere near as good. Again, i had the pickerel but this time it was a thick chunk instead of a nice thin fillet.
It was served over an unappetizing bed of lukewarm spinach surrounded by some kind of pureed "brown stuff". Very disappointing.
The service here was great - I accidentally dropped my fork and I swear the waiter swooped by with a replacement milliseconds later. I had the bacon-wrapped meatloaf and it was just divine. The interior is really neat with some interesting accent pieces. My friends had the risotto and the jambalaya and both looked and tasted really good. However, the... more
Sat outside, quiet and pleasant street. Waitress was delightful, Australian, helpful and great service. The salads were fresh and the meat loaf was large enough to share with 2 people. Both delicious and the Mill st organic lager shandy delicious too.
The restaurant seems to have some great reviews so I decided to take my family there for dinner after a play at the Panasonic Theater to celebrate my sister's birthday. The food is far overpriced, and the service was below par.
Appetizers came barely warm to the table, they served soup without providing a spoon and had to wait for...

Great location, great food and great service! Our waiter, Shaun, offered wonderful suggestions. I went with my husband and daughter before a show at the Panasonic Theatre and it got a thumbs up from everyone. My daughter loved the atmosphere. Everyone from staff to other patrons were friendly. I had the meatloaf and it was the best I've ever had... more
We ate supper at Fire on the East Side last night and once again we were not disappointed. First I must comment on the excellent service provided by our usual server, Scotty. A very professional, courteous and pleasant young man. The food is very good and the ambiance is very intimate and romantic. I look forward to the spring when... more
We are staying at the Courtyard Marriott on Yonge. Suffice it to say, there is a dearth of quality dining experiences in the immediate vicinity of the hotel. We stumbled across Fire on the East Side by pure chance and we are glad we did. A nicely balanced variety of starters, sides and mains and it helps they are vegetarian... more
We were at the Fire on the East Side on Sunday morning, it was a lovely morning, we sat outside on the patio, had delicious egg dishes. They had a lot of selections on the menu, pancakes look intriguing for another time. Would recommend this place for sure.
This is a consistently decent restaurant with a nice patio, good cocktails and decent brunch. Service is always efficient, nice atmosphere, and consistently good food. I particularly liked the peppers stuffed with quinoa.
great atmsophere and outstanding food! definitely worth the wait...found a great boot shop around the corner to occupy our time!
Did lunch on the patio. Had the spinach and apple salad, so crisp and fresh. Perfect summer lunch meal.
Very trendy little bistro with sleek design and even sleeker clientele! The food was superb - brunch was Eggs Benedict with smoked salmon and spinach...... Lovely!
We dine here a couple of times a year since it is in a convenient location just off Yonge and we are always pleased with the whole dining experience. The atmosphere is quiet and comfortable and the servers are generally pleasant and helpful. They have a good selection of specialty cocktails and reduced pricing from 4:00-7:00 (look for the 'quatre... more
Several colleagues decided to head over on a week night just before Christmas. I had never been but a few of us had. On the way over one said" I am not having the fried chicken this time, last time I had it sat like a lump in my stomach". Oddly this did not deter us; we went anyways. Between... more
Visited for the first time this week with a group of 8. We had a great waiter who was patient, attentive and helpful with food and drink suggestions. It was mojito night so a lot of had them. Best I have ever had and everyone who had one agreed. Appetizers arrived and a couple were good, but others not so... more
Went there for Sunday Brunch; the place is packed mostly with the YOUNG AND MOBILE! The service is very friendly and good. Unfortunately we waited for the food for a looong time!! Another problem with the food was that it was not hot except the plate and the food was rather bland tasting!!!
If i didn't have the cheesecake stuffed french toast at Lola's yesterday, i'm pretty sure i'd be absolutely enamored with the Chocolate Butterscotch Tart stuffed French Toast here at Fire on the East side.
This was a 3.5* but service was good, so i bumped it up to 4 instead of 3.
The french toast was good, but it was...

My dad and I celebrated our joint birthday dinner at FOTES and, as always, weren't let down. The Cajun Mussels were great and the Spicy Mushroom Soup was super spicy and delicious! I told our server that we had a movie to get to and he kept us on schedule. The food is always great here and I love the... more
The first time we went to this restaurant, sometime in July we were trying to get some breakfast around 2pm. We picked up the restaurant straight from Google ... Patio was open and we had a very pleasant experience, not to mention that the food was great. Early October, we had a lot of activities during the weekend and Saturday... more
The waiter was just fine and continually refilled our water glasses. Thank you. We were not warned, however, that there would be a charge for the three tiny, stale, sliced of buttered French bread. I ordered Southern Fried Chicken. It wasn't Southern Fried Chicken, alas. A de-boned pieced of chicken covered in panko, I believe. It was served with not-cooked-enough... more
It was brunch with family & friends from out of town. Not the place to impress anyone as my order and another guest's orders got switched and it was really gross.
The other guest and I ordered the same meal - simple eggs.
When they arrived I added some cheese to my plate but soon realized the eggs were raw...

This is my favourite brunch spot. I've never been here for anything else. It has a cozy atmosphere, the food is great, and the service is wonderful. It is a little on the pricey side, but I still keep coming back! Sometimes it can get quite busy on a Saturday or Sunday morning, but they usually try to accommodate you... more
We are still exploring the neighborhood and trying new restaurants and pubs.
Had dinner there last night and it will be our new local. My fiancee had the linguini (without meat or fish options) and announced that it was the best she had ever had. As for me, I glanced at the menu but they had me as soon as...

This new york/manhattan inspired place is nice and mellow with great cocktails and yummy tapas!
I first came here because I was in search of some good ol' Southern fried chicken without the name 'KFC' stamped on it. I was definitely not disappointed. The portion was pretty big (3 fairly large pieces of chicken), that I regretted ordering crab cakes and a beer to start off with. Although, I could have done with more gravy... more
It was pouring rain and we were staying up the street, so we decided to duck in and see if we could get a table. The host said last table as they had to move all the reservations inside, we were very excited. We ordered drinks and relaxed. We then ordered dinner. 30 minutes passed no meal, we started to... more
Food is still good but, they've really jacked up the prices and reduced the portions.
the "hot" jambalaya, is indeed very hot.
Great place for business or friendly Lunch or Dinner and check out the weekend Brunch (love the crab cake benedict)
interesting and good food, great staff. Excellent weekend brunch.
Good drinks and food. Fun atmosphere.
Yummy fried southern style food! The crabcakes were my favorite!
This laid-back lounge (formerly Fenton’s) sits off the main drag of Toronto Gay-district and satisfies patrons with Cajun, soul food and Tex-Mex delights. Arrive early if you hope to snag a seat on the curbside patio for a weekend brunch or after-work martinis.
Fire on the East Side has a few solid things going for it. The room is stunning, and waiters make up in good cheer what they...
